I took this class in BCC South Campus during this summer term. Professor Todd is VERY helpful, nice, funny, easy going, down to earth. He helped me relieve some of my public-speaking stress by "practicing" in groups. He's very fair to his students, and all he asks is that you go to class and try. I'm considering taking another SPC class w/him. THX!

Definitely a walk in the park class. Prof. Todd loves his students and to be completely honest I dont think he really keeps track of anyone's grades. Everyone earns an A. I have to admit that the class is boring, but as long as its not a 3-hour summer class you'll survive.

This professor is cool as a cucumber. In his class you will lose the fear of public speaking. He is a great guy, very honest and understanding. You will love this class you must take this professor, it will be the best thing you do.

He's a great professor, but for this class he was not present very much, it was mainly his TA. She however was very prepared and he did teach her directly so I guess that says a lot. The class is great, everything in the class is about performance not really written assignments so attendance is crucial.

TAKE HIS CLASS! You dont have to take notes, just listen to every word he says. He is very interesting and engaging. He will make you have fun and enjoy his class. Supposedly 3 Major speeches, our class only did 2. Many speeches in groups at the beginning of class on random topics and also calls you up to speak randomly (calls the whole class one by one) not for a speech to answer a question. Laid back class, professor is down to earth, very funny, tells a lot of stories. Shy people not to worry.

I did enjoy taking this class. The grading criteria is very clear cut when it comes to the two graded speeches that you must present. The only complaint that I have is that the class itself doesn't feel very structured. I feel like we wasted a lot of time playing around at the beginning of the course, and then crammed everything in at the end.

Only two speeches for this class. One of them is easy to do. The other you spend the semester doing. It's about a 8 or 10 minute speech. No tests. Easy A. O did I mention there is no set times for this class. You show up to his office whenever you feel like it.

Todd is the sweetest man. You basically have two speeches to do. one that argues a point and one that describes something. You basically just talk to him the entire class. He is there for you if you need him!!

Professor Todd is amazing and I would so take him again. Only assigns two graded speeches and the rest of the speeches can be improvised but don't count as a grade but if you don't do it, it counts against you for participation. Easy A.

Professor John Todd is hands down one of the best professors at Miami-Dade College, taken 2 classes with him and nothing but positive experiences.

He's very nice and funny, tells lots of stories about his life (not boring ones though). Assigns a few group speeches that are ungraded and then has you do two individual speeches that he grades easy. He does make you go to the speech lab for one of them though. Overall, just do the two speeches and he'l give you an A.

Is a Speech class, the material is EASY, what's not easy is getting in front of a crowd do deliver a speech! BUT don't discourage! Proff. Todd has his own technique to break people out of their shells. He is truly patient and motivates you to speak and cares about the student. He is funny and very sweet, take his class and you'll see.

PICK HIM YOU WILL PASS. He's one of those old, wise, inspiring guys who cares and loves his students and he will say it every single class. Very easy class to pass, even the laziest of students will ATLEAST get a B as their final grade. I forgot I had a speech do, looked up info while others presented, went up, and got a 93% on it. ended with an A.

Best professor ever, take it, you won't regret

HE IS SUCH AN AMAZING PROFESSOR ONE OF THE BEST IN DADE HE NOT ONLY TEACHES U SPEECH AND A VERY EASY GRADER BUT HE TEACHES YOU VALUABLE THINGS IN THE REAL WORLD 100 WILL RECOMMEND DONT BE DUMB AND NOT TAKE HIS CLASS

Best professor to ever teach at MDC! We only do speeches as individual or in a group but overall TAKE HIM FOR SPC1017 before his class fills up.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! Took him for Summer B (2019) and he made SPC1017 an overall easy class. You only present as an individual or in a group and he gives great feedback. Add his class before it fills up. Many people in class were nervous but he understood and basically gave us A's for participating.

Professor Todd is actually amazing and he seriously wants his students to learn and pass! He gives amazing feedback on speeches and has a clear grading rubric. As long as you follow it, youll get an A. But dont worry, he lets you re-do speeches for your A if you do it wrong. His class activities are also very fun and uplifting!

I took Professor Todd for Fall 2020 and I have nothing to complain about. He is just amazing. He will not only teach you about how to give an speech but life. Loves every single student. There were like 3 speeches but only 2 were graded. Group projects: 2 / Individual: 2-3. Be prepared to talk every class but dont worry, the work is really easy.

Taking a class with Professor Todd is the greatest thing I have (and will ever do) in my college career. So sweet, so full of stories & knowledge, and helps you become a better public speaker. Such an amazing guy and a gem, especially through a pandemic.

Due to Covid this class was online, but he did showed up to class and wanted if possible for student to attend class. Very understanding prof, good heart. He's just special. Class is not hard, but you are require to participate and provide speech weekly, he just wants you to talk. By the end of the class you are no longer shy. 1 written assignment.

Professor Todd is one of the most amazing human beings, he's full of knowledge and super understanding. I was never bored in his class and he always found a way to make you laugh, he would always tell his students how much he loves us and he would share his back in the days stories. He has the biggest heart, don't look further choose him!

This is for sure the best professor in MDC, such a great person and human being. He makes you feel very comfortable in the class, I hate standing and presenting in front of a bunch of people but with Prof. Todd was way different, take him!!! you won't regret it.

Professor Todd is the absolute best professor I have ever had. He is so awesome and really cares about his students. His assignments are not difficult and he gives you a lot of time to work on them. Todd will tell you great stories and you will learn many interesting things in his class. If you choose him as your professor you will not regret it.

Best teacher Ive ever had in my entire college career. Hes so easy going and understanding. He just wants you to talk. 2 speeches, 1 paper and 25% attendance. Thats what he grades you on. Its impossible to fail unless you just dont show up. Hes very knowledgeable and really gets the class communicating!

There's no better professor at MDC then him! Participate and you will get an "A". Otherwise he will make you keep doing the speech till you get an "A".

TAKE HIM. HE'S THE BEST EVER. He was absolutely the BEST. I'm done this semester and this has been the only class of mine where attendance is mandatory. And wow, I'm SO happy about it. He's A GEM to say the least. He loves his students and he never lets us forget it. He's so inspiring. Show up, participate, and you will get an A. No book.

He gives barely any work, and allows you to redo a speech until you get an A. He is very lenient and is fun to have class with.

Easy class, show up listen to him talk for 30 minutes write down the rubric for the assignments and you pass. You HAVE to show up to the meetings and participate because that's the only way he grades but regardless if you mess up he gives you a lot of chances.

Professor Todd is very understanding, loves his students, and gives lots of chances. AMAZING PROFESSOR! I would highly recommend this class to everyone. We wrote just 1 essay followed by a rubric, and he would just tell us to talk to one another and prepare speeches about debatable topics for his class, topics were mostly to our choosing.

John Todd really cares about his students. As long as you participate in class via talking ,your good. You keep trying until you get the grade which is an A. If you need this class I highly recommend that you take it with him. No book required!! He's an outstanding professor !!!

Really nice teacher, he gives you feedback after each speech and all in all was really chill. Just prepare the speeches he has due before each class and you'll pass.

Really great experience, very interactive class, would do this class just for the fun of it.
