Mr. Visintainer is a very good entertaining lecturer. He is always puts his dog or sports or movies into his philosophy lectures and makes them interesting.
tests on lectures. pay attn to lectures and know how to write essay's and you have an A
Dr. Visintainer is a great prof. He always made lecture interesting. Very respectful to class input, especially ideas that made him "think." He gives the best notes, which the tests are based on. Also gives you the possible essay topic. Grades g
I did not think I would like his class turned out that I did. Lots of dry humor but he does get to the point. Take notes on every thing he writes on the board and practice short essays.
He was my favorite teacher at SAC so far. He made the class so intresting and he is very clear on whats on his test. I would recommend him to anyone!!!
Dr. Visintainer is an awesome professor. He speaks very cleary and concisely about philosophy in a way that people will understand. Will help you to answer any questions you might have and is also very entertaining. Take him, and you'll learn to love philosophy.
He made this class better than you would anticipate. The web class was EXTREMELY flexible. The readings are about 10 pgs a week. He gives you 2 essays to practice before each test, and then he'll choose one of the two for that test. All you have to do is copy and paste! I highly recommend this class
AWESOME teacher, does a great job in class. He uses everyday examples to try to get the message across. I am not a philosphy major and could care less about it but he makes the class so fun he is a very, very nice professor. He tells you whats on the test. Take him and you won't regret a thing.
Great teacher overall...
Mr. Visintainer was very thorough and direct with his material. He took some very hard reading material and brought it out in easy terms using modern day analogies. His sharp and keen mind made the class very interesting and humerous. Study his notes and essay topics & you should do fine.
Study notes. Instructor goes base on notes. He breaks down everything for you.
he is okay. Not as great everyone says he is.
He was a great teacher. He gives very good lectures and notes. If you read as you're supposed to and take all the notes and study you should have no problem getting a good grade.
Very nice teacher. Very helpful and loves his subject.
Great teacher. Made it funny.
Took his Philosophy course (1301) via internet. Very flexible, straight forward.. Would of liked a little more dialogue thru the scheduled chat sessions. Would recommend to others.
A great professor. Intresting, enagaging, and fairly flexible too. Highly recommended.
He's HOT!
Great teaching ability. He makes you feel like your being taught by each person you are studying at the time.

Great teacher-Easy to understand and gives plenty of examples. He is opinionated and may make offensive comments. He is not politically correct but it catches your attention and in some cases makes you laugh. He is organized and grades fairly. He doesn't believe in this web site because he thinks it is a popularity contest instead of a tool.
Very writing intensive, and you have to read the book, the notes aren't enough. This guy expects a lot, and expects adults in his class, not teeny boppers without personal responsibility. I thoroughly enjoyed his teaching style, sarcasm and wit go a long way in keeping my interest. I would rather have REAL than politically correct any day of the we
the 1st day of school, i sat in the very back seat, but from that day forth, i parked myself on the front row. the dry humor is much needed for a class like ethics, and this teacher doesn't disappoint. not to mention, the mat'l covered was clear and understandable. besides, he quoted woody allen for crying out loud!!! highly recommend!
Makes the old Greeks very understandable from a modern point of view. He has a sense of humor and doesn't take his subject so seriously that we are expected to be "philosopher kings" when we leave. I like his class.

this prof. will keep your attention during class. not too hard to pass. 4 quizzes and drops lowest, if you take all 4 then he gives you 10 pt extra credit. the journal is not that hard but do not procrastinate!!! the final is semi-difficult. try tutoring during the semester to get help because it is all essays! again DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
The first day I thought that he was going to be a jerk but he really just has a dry sense of humor and doesn't like to look at you when he talks to you. I have found his class very informative and if you take the notes and review them before the quiz you will get an A. The term paper is pretty easy as long as you follow the guidelines and use MLA.
Great teacher knows his material 4 quizes lowest dropped 10 pts added if you take all 4 quizes a term paper over a topic in class and an essay final exam questions given ahead of time to study for very nice guy and smart!!!
I enjoyed the 'John-john's. And that's because he likes to think deep thoughts -- fondly, Dr. DDD (tarkika).
this professor is great! i really enjoy his class, he is very funny and very intelligent.
Dr. Visintainer rocks! He's nice, helpful, his tests are pretty easy, and he's freakin hilarious. His term paper is required to be only 4-8 pages. Another philosophy teacher (dont remember who) requires a 10 page minimum! Take Dr. Visintainer for philosophy, he'll make you want to show up for this class!! :)
Great teacher! This class was a pre-rec and I thought i was going to hate it. He gives a damn good lecture, and is able to relate these ancient theories into present day terms. He never is biased or interjects his own beliefs. He teaches the material, and is funny as hell. If you need help he'll work with you. Just go to class, and don't be a jerk
nice guy, great teacher. I wasn't very interested in the subject at first but he changed my mind. warning though, he does throw out a lot of comments that can be insulting to one's belief's, but if u just ignore that then it's a very educational class. Def. would take him again
(the best professor) Dr.Visintainer is very intelligent and has a GREAT personality. He is very cool to conversate with, his lectures are so interesting and very funny. very nice. His class made waking up at 6 am worth it. I DEFINITELY reccomend him! he is also very attractive...
Awesome class and great prof. I loved his sarcastic way of being. Very negative and yet very realistic. Very intelligent man. The class itself was not extremely difficult but it does require some study time unless you understand the material in class so well that you can take the exam with just that. Take good notes, you will need it for the final
He is very funny and loves seinfeld, and his dog but he is also a great teacher, very clear and tests are very easy and multiple choice. there are multiple choice tests and 1 mid term paper. possibly the best philosophy teacher.
Took internet class. Was pretty easy. A lot of reading. No papers, 4 tests and a final only. The 4 tests were essay and were pretty easy. The final was mc, and it was ok. I got a B and I did not do any reading. I would recommend this instructor.
Great Professor! I highly reccomend him for Ethics-WI. Just go to class and take his notes. Book may be of help. However everything on his tests are in his notes. Very funny, he puts things in todays perspective.
This was a difficult class for me, as it was hard to grasp some of the concepts; however, I made an A. Study your notes, read the book and start on your paper early. He is fair, if you have questions go by his office, he is very willing to help.
His ethics class was great. I felt like i was stoned from laughing so much tho i havent smoked since highschool. He relates the material to everyday life which makes everything easy to understand. His quizes are easy to ace as long as you copy all his notes and read the chapters. start the term paper early he gives the questions to the final early
his hard didnt understand his crazy.he talks about nazis, paris hilton and religion he its not clear if u leave class he would get mad
1st year teaching pre-cal and he did a great job no hw due and only 4 exams with 15 problems on each!
He was one of my first professors. He changed the way I think about everything. Sometimes I still hear his voice in my head speaking about the world. Write everything you see on the board, it will be on the quizzes. Enjoy!
4 exams and one final hw due for extra credit on exam
I took him online, pretty easy but got a bad grade on a test because I had to terminate early(wife went into labor) teacher had no lieniency given my circumstance. I kinda expected a chance to retake the one exam, but thats college.
omg he is hot, love to watch him. very interesting professor, you can tell he loves what he does. i don't like phil, but he is cute and makes it fun to be in class
Dr. Visintainer is a great professor. His lectures are very thorough!! He also teaches a Logic class. GREAT INSTRUCTOR
I have about two more weeks left of class and I absolutely love lectures. He's a great professor in such that he doesn't teach just ONE view of what we study. that's very importatnt for a PHIL instructor. He's also funny, so that keeps class interesting. I would def take him again in his logics class :]
If I could, I would take all of his classes. I think once I become a nurse, I will go back to sac just for him. He?s very good at his job, and he makes class interesting. Highly opinionated and cynical, he?s definitely not for everyone. I think he?s hilarious; and even when I don?t want to go to school in the morning, I?m motivated because I just w
Even when I dont want to go to school in the morning, I am motivated because i just want to see what he has to say. I think it is a pleasant paradox to have a crush on your ethics professor.
Leave your sensitivities at home. It is his classroom. Any/everything outside classroom is fair game in his effort to teach ethics of various philosophers. Challenges you to think critically about your beliefs/attitudes & that of our society. Read book. Study notes. You'll learn something in this class.
i was scared out of mind when i signed up for this class. had taken it before and droped it. visintainer really made this class simple. didnt expect to make higher than a C and i got a high B! test are 40 mutliple questions. take notes!!! most of the test comes from the notes.
This class in very interesting.... I really love his style of teaching....he is very very open with his beliefs and does not give a crap about if you agree or not.If you speak out in class about your religous view be prepared to look really really dumb, best if you keep it to yourself! Quite funny when it happens! Grades term papers harsh!
he is a very good teacher. Even though i wasnt really interested in philosophy, the class is pretty easy, gives you 10 extra points just for takin all tests. just take notes and study and you'll make an easy A.
He's a great teacher. His lectures are always very interesting, and I like that he doesn't write so fast that I can't keep up. Also, it doesn't hurt that a man that smart is sexy. One more reason to go to class every day!
Mr.Visintainer is an excellent professor. Very fair, lectures are interesting. Tests are over his lectures, and take notes. He is soo cute and he would definitely make it into the bulge club.
Dr. V is indeed a great teacher. He is an expert in his field. His class is actually very interesting. It's like watching a Bill Maher episode. Dr. V does have a big ego though."He graces us cave-dwellers with his presence". Plus he reads these ratings every night before he goes to sleep and gloats about them. Regardless, he is a great teacher!
Dr. V. made it very entertaining. His tests are based on the notes in the class. He has a very easy 300 point system which you can passed if you make an effort. He does give out term papers which he does not grade hard. His final exam is an essay which he will give it to you the first day of class. He is very helpful and friendly.
Great professor. Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Do NOT interrupt him, come in late, talk during class, etc... Study the book and learn his notes and everything will be peachy keen. Make sure to be there for all the quizzes. He is really funny with dry humor so it made class fun to go to.
Great professor, Makes philosophy fun and interesting. He always made us laugh with his dry humored jokes, Lol hes a really funny guy.Gives online notes so you don't really need the book. He's pretty good looking as well Lol[; Highly recommend him though.
He is pretty inconsistent in giving important information. He kind of reminds me of a dorkier Jason Sudeikus from SNL. He has pretty dry humor so it keeps this class from being super boring. I wasn't into PHIL but he made it alright. He takes attendance but I don't think he does anything with the sheet...
LOVE this guy. He is SO smart and funny youll want to hear what he has to say. He doesnt push you to come to class but you should. as long as you show up and listen youll pass this class. Dont miss review days.. he gives you a LOT of the answers. Write down what he says. Cant say enough good things. He should be at Harvard.
Read the chapter before the related lectures and make perfect scores. This guy is really funny and gets you thinking. He is usually in his office during assigned hours. Will have hand written essays during class as an exam. You will do fine and know what to write if you read and know the topics.
Dr. V is a good professor if you do the work its an easy A. Read the book, gives clear reviews, lets you print out notes you will need the whole semester. He gives you a midterm essay/final essay both not too hard just read. He is funny and very intelligent makes it fun. Also drops your lowest test grade and gives extra credit for taking all tests.
If there is a god, I do believe he/she goes by the name Visintainer. He was seriously, the best professor I've ever had. This professor doesn't teach a class. He expands your horizons (especially for those thinking to themselves right now "I'm open minded").. He's extremely funny and will make you want to come to class. I wish I was as smart as he.
great professor; really funny, really interesting. class is super easy as long as you read and keep up. attendance not mandatory, but he makes the whole class so easy if you show up.
Smart man, although at times he can come off as sarcastic. His class is rather easy and he does give good explanations and sometimes even come off as funny. His attitude of course depends on what mood you catch him in.
Avoid. You have to get like 3 books for his class which you will never use. I was dying of bredom in his class. His tests are easy if you study the boring lectures. He has dry humor. I have no idea how students pay attention in his class. My mind sets off to another planet. Take someone else.
He is the worse teacher ever. We wrote an essay and he failed us all and even told my friend and I we didnt get the topic correct, but he never wrote the topic or explained it to us. He wrote on board and said start writing. No help on understanding or anything. He then told us all we need to drop. DONT TAKE HIM.
Must have the book! 2 essays, weekly chapter readings, and 1 final. Professor was not very clear on essays. I was confused for the most part but was able to wing it and still got a passing grade. Just stay close to your topic. He also provides chapter summaries online. Overall, online class was easy just lots of reading
Took this class for summer flex II. Lots of reading. One essay and one final made the grade. Easy A if you do the work.
this class lost me by the 2nd week in. there is no homework, no quizzes, aka: NO GUIDANCE TO STUDY FOR THE FINAL WHICH IS WHY IT SUCKED SO BAD. NO REVIEW, NOTHING TO HELP YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE COVERED ON THE FINAL. DISCUSSIONS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HELPING FOR THE FINAL. this class was done halfass by the teacher.
Easy class just study, read the book, and take good notes also don't miss any of his quizzes also don't be absent.
Dr. Visintainer is truly an amazing teacher. He is very opinionated though, so if you are offended easily I do not recommend his class. His quizzes have 40 questions on them and it is almost impossible to fail unless you don't read or never show up to class. He is very knowledgeable and willing to talk to students after class.
Great professor only has 2 grades for the online class. A research paper and the final. Extra credit for participation in discussion and turning in the 2 assignments on time.
He only has 2 assignments each worth 50% of your grade, the first is a research paper. It's really easy and you'll get a good grade if you use more book sources rather than online ones. Second is the final exam, you will have to read the book to pass this. He offers 40 extra credit point, 20 for taking exam early and 20 for doing discussions posts.
Dr. Visintainer is an amazing professor. He makes the material easy to understand and is always cracking jokes. He reviews the quizzes and exams thoroughly. Pay attention in class and don't be afraid to ask questions; you'll do great.
This class was horrible. He gave two grades, remind yourself this is an introduction to Philosophy. He gave no feed back, and was not clear when answering questions. He was very arrogant to students when they asked him questions publicly. He graded extremely hard, and had no study guides or anything to help you with the final.
The course was fairly easy until the last 6 weeks of class. If mathformulas isn't your strength, this course may get confusing. Prof. Visintainer is a bit sarcastic. Reminds you every chance he gets that you chose to take this course and if you don't pass, it is not his fault. 3 quizzes (drops lowest) and a final. Hates cell phones in class.
The PHIL 1301 course is a dream when it comes to grades. Only two grades, one research paper and once final exam, makes things easy and flexible for the semester; however, be prepared to have your paper graded as if it is a much more advanced philosophy course.
Very entertaining, very sarcastic. There are only a few grades in the class, so attending lectures and taking notes is key. He doesn't "require" reading, but it helps. He makes whatever he talks about interesting. Sometimes quiz questions weren't in my notes, but his notes online include EVERYTHING. Would definitely take another one of his classes.
I took this class not reviewing the professor. If I would of known there are only two assignments the whole semester, I would not have taken the class. The research paper was pretty easy, but he does not give a study guide for the final and I am a terrible test taker so that makes me nervous. To pass this class you must read, ALOT.
I recommend not taking his online class, there are only two assignments throughout his course. He does offer 40 points in extra credit for doing all reading discussions and not retaking the final, but he offers no guidance for either assignment. Over all a horrible online class whether your a good student or not it will be hard to pass this class.
I just completed Visintainer Phil 1301 online & I have zero complaints. Yes there is a lot of reading but the book is interesting. 2 writing assignments, 1 journal and 1 book report. This course worked for me and my schedule. The final was a little rough due to a very broad study guide but if you took notes on the readings you will do fine.
Dr. Visintainer is phenomenal. His lectures are amazing, he puts everything into layman's terms for those that are academically challenged. He may seem coarse to some, but is very entertaining. Few tests, lengthy final. Drops lowest test grade. If you show up to class and take notes, you ought to pass. If you don't, you're just an imbecile. Hottie!
Strictly online, professor only has you read the text book and only grades you on three items: Journal essay, Book Report (basically a summary), and a final exam. Gives great extra credit towards your final if done without problems and on time. I prefer an interactive prof. Just be sure to get good grades on only three items of grading.
Took his Intro to Philosophy class, wasn't looking forward to it but with his quirkiness and great attitude the class was actually entertaining! He gave great feedback, and responded to emails very quickly (even returns phone messages). There are a few tests but none of that "2 answers are right but 1 is more right" business- highly recommend
Great professor and easy class.
3 assignments. a book report, journal and final. i was VERY nervous but he's a VERY easy grader. I didn't use the book until I wrote my journal and that was maybe 2 pages long. this class is an easy A and I wish all classes could be this easy! i even got my dates mixed up and he let me take my final because i had missed it. I HIGHLY recommend!
Professor Visintainer only gives 3 assignments the whole semester online. 1 is a journal report for a certain amount of chapters from the book. 2 is a book report of an assignment given on a list he provides which both are easy A's given they're only 300-600 words. Last is the final which you can use his notes for. Easy class.
Online class only has 3 assignments, makes it very easy. For the final as long as you turn it in on or before the due date you will receive 20 points of extra credit. Really recommend for an easy A.
SO EASY! 3 assignments. clear on grading you journal and book report and both are only up to 600 words. i was so nervous about this class and it was the easiest class ive taken! TAKE THIS CLASS FOR AN EASY A!! you dont need the book till the journal to write your paper.
Only 3 assignments the entire semester, unless you read the assigned readings along with the notes he posts on each chapter. It's like he does the hard work for you. Just turned in the first assignment, which was a 300 word "book report." It was graded almost immediately and I received a 100 on it. This class is almost TOO easy.
Super easy and lot a lot of work just have to read the book every week
1 book report, 1 journal. Both are only like 500 words minimum and the final is provided with a study guide. Highly recommend if your like doing online classes at your own pace. SERIOUSLY TAKE HIM
There's literally only three assignments, read the textbook and take notes. The final was super easy too. I took the online class. This class stressed me out the least.
easy class. Three assignments each one 100 points. strongly suggest actually reading the assigned readings because you will write a journal on them. The final exam is 50 questions long timed at 90 min. Highly recommend studying the notes he provides you it's literally word for word. Easy class.
I love this professor. He's great. The class was very enlightening and you can learn a lot. The class is work at your own pace. 120% would take again.
3 assignments- ALL EASY!. 1 book report chosen from his list (300-600 words), 1 journal to which is a summary of each chapter you'll read each week (300-600 words), 1 final exam which is similar to the review. Easy grader though. Also gives 20 extra credit points if you turn in the final exam on time. recommend for an easy A!
Took this professor online, got free book rental, and he gives you the entire course on day 1 for online classes. He breaks it down week by week, but you can do it all quickly if you wanted to (midterm and final don't open up until later in CANVAS) Read sections of book, Read a separate story for a "book report", take a test, ez pz
Free book, Three assignments - a "book" report (you read like a few pages), A summary of textbook readings and a multi-choice final. the two assignments were 300-600 words and really easy grader. 20 extra points if you turn in your final on time with no complications. the textbook is really boring tho
there are 3 total assignments for the entire semester. a book report about 1 page long. a journal from all the readings he assigns. and a multiple-choice final. It is the easiest A I have worked for. He is a super relaxed grader. I highly recommend taking this course for the PHIL requirement.
2 essays and one exam with plenty of time to get it done. I kind of wish I took the Flex rather than the full course since it was kind of drawn out. There is a ton of reading for one essay, it is like 210+ pages. Not too bad though as you had months to read it in increments.
Easy class with a free textbook and simple assignments. Unstuck study was a great tool for preparing for the final exam. Definitely an A-worthy course.
Easy class, some reading required. Professor only graded 3 things; book report, journal, and final. The book report and journal are essays basically. The final was multiple choice. He did give one extra credit of 20 points if you don't have issues with final. I'd take this if you have a heavy coarse load with other classes.
