Pretty cool guy. He shares his stories that are related to the topic and asks students to share their own stories. It gets the whole class talking. Flexible on amount of homeworks and tests/quizzes.

Lectures are good and help you in organizing your thoughts for public speaking. If you do not have any problems talking, then you will succeed in his class. If you cannot bring yourself to it, then you will struggle in his class. His grading is tough.

Enjoyed him, good teacher. Does not like mediocrity, so if you are a slacker, don't bother. There's a point to learning how to speak in public and some people just don't get it. I think the ones that were hard on Vitullo were the slackers!!!

Seemingly easy class, until you get to grading criteria! Be sure to be ON TIME and do ALL SPEECHES and HW. If you miss even one assignment or speech or are absent one too many times, your grade will PLUMMIT, regardless of how good your other grades are on other speeches! Beware!

Yes, Vitullo is very strict in everything. I took him once before and I received a D only because of attendance. Then I took him a Second time and I earned an A. Honestly, he is a great teacher and everything you need to know for any assingment he WILL go over. Just be ON TIME & DO THE SPEECHES.

Great professor if you're willing to do the work. Has a lot of high expectations, but grades fairly. Be prepared, because his tests are REALLY hard. If you don't like public speaking, this is the class to take, because he makes it a lot easier.

He does let the class have fun but when it gets down to business he is very strict. Make sure you turn your cell phones off because he will kick you out of class even if its your speech day. It is important to study the details of your notes because the tests are very specific.

I was dreading taking speech, but he made it fun and not hard at all. Class was always fun and enjoyable. He misses A LOT of classes but holds you to a different standard, so don't miss class. Keep your phone off because you will be kicked out no matter what if it goes off. I would definetly reccomend this class, it was really great.

A very good teacher when it comes to taking speech. His lectures are pretty easy, and the exams are basically lecture based. He is somewhat hard in grading, when it comes to the speech delivery thing, but overall he is cool. There are a lot of interesting class discussions, and he gives a fair chance to everyone to participate. Overall, excellent!

Of all the teachers I've had, Vitullo has to be the 2nd best. Very funny & explains the topics well. There are 4 speechs (impromptu, demo 3-5min, info 4-6min, & pers 6-8min) & 2 mid terms. Speeches make up the majority of the grade. I got an A on all of my speeches except for 1 cuz I didn't do it. I still got a C. Very very very easy teacher.

One of the best professors at Mount Sac. He is really nice and helpful. He is also easy when it comes to grade the speeches. Easy to get an 'A' in the class, but you need to put some efforts too, in order to do so. I will surely recommend this professor to the people who don't like public speaking cuz he will make you like it. Enjoyed his class:)

Vitullo is so nice. He tries to make you as comfortable as possible and tells you what you need to improve on. If you listen to what he says and just give it your best you'll get an A. Take it over innersession so it goes by faster. RECOMMENDED!

He is head of Speech and Debate so I felt he was a little hard on grading. I feel he expects more from us when we are just beginning.If you can deal with that, cool.If not, I recommend finding another professor.He is very nice and cracks a lot of jokes though.

I was not in the mood to take the speech class. However when I got there it was rather relaxing. He spoon feeds you the information so you can feel comfortable speaking. He knows and understands that public speaking is not easy for everyone. He doesn't just shove you up in front of the class and tell you to speak. Great Prof! Great Class!

awesome class! I've improved so much and my grades reflect that. He's rather picky when it comes to your speaking, I got points marked off for wearing a shirt that read volcom on it. Dont let the scare you though. If you have a problem being late or tardy dont bother your grade will drop dramatically!!

he is a great teacher . the speeches are easy as long as you follow the outline that he gives you, which is very easy to do. although he is a very funny teacher he is very strict with a few rules. the main one is NO CELL PHONES if it goes off he will kick you out , which means you might miss a speech. another rule is attendance DONT BE LATE/TARDY

This class is a blast so far. Mr. V is zesty & insightful. He knows his stuff and is constantly pulling out "fun filled activities". *They actually are cool despite the geeky title. However, you MUST show up every day and show up on time. If your cell rings you will be ejected... kicked to the curb... GONE! Otherwise, it's two thumbs up.

Have a hard time rating this guy. He seems like a very nice teacher. Lectures are interesting, and crystal clear, but I sense a real fakeness to how regards people. i had vitullo for speech 1a and 10. he's very helpful and the class is fun. he takes baby steps with his students to build up confidence and self esteem so all his students present great speeches. he grades well also. I RECOMMEND HIM.

Very good prof, no cell phones allowed in class. You get 2 free absences, extra absences will deduct your final grade by 5% each. He tells you whats gonna be on exams, he tells you what he expects on every speech. Everything is clear and class is fun :]

He's a great prof. i took him in the winter and passed with an a. speeches are easy, you dont have to dress up and you can use your note cards. if you need any help, he helps you! tests are not too hard. i hate public speaking but i had a great experience in this class. i would definately recommend him.

Professor Vitullo is simply the best speech prof at MT SAC! His lectures were very helpful for me! I got A's on every speech that I presented, which means I got an A in the class! At first I thought that I would do bad in his class, but at the end I gained more confidence in myself! He is very strict on his policies so follow them! RECOMMENDED!

Most of the class is lecture, be prepared and calm during speeches and just follow the organization he teaches you. Do the extra credit (easy stuff), and take notes during class cause you'll need it for the final. He doesnt read directly from the book, but read the chapters anyway cuz some of the midterm/final questions are only from the book

He's a pretty awesome professor. I was absolutely DREADING taking this class going into it but ended up having lots of fun and was quite sad to see it finish when it did. I've grown into a much better speaker because of him. Make sure you follow his directions for the outlines, as he docks quite a lot of points if you don't.

First few weeks were easy, but after the first speech, this class is my worst enemy! I don't like the way he organized it so that between the 2 most important speeches, u only had a week to prepare and research your topic. Not to mention that he nitpicks your outlines to no end! Its really quite annoying. Don't take him for summer or winter! SUCKS!

WOW I took him during the summer of 2011 (with 2 other class), and I can say that he is one of my fav professors.He is clear on what he expects and very kind. He is really funny to, But I have to say he is strict with deadlines and cell phones!! RECOMMENDED

P.Vitullo is an awesome professor. People might say he's a strict grader, that might be true but as long as you follow the speech format, you'll be fine. Even though I hate lectures, I found his rather entertaining and he made it as bearable as possible. He's is an incredible stickler for the rules though. Still, I highly recommend him.

Very fair and organized teacher. Makes class interesting even when he is giving the powerpoint lecture. As long as you follow the format you will get at least a B. He is the head of the speech dept, but don't let this fool you, he is probably the most laid back yet helpful and informative instructor you can take! Instead of doing speeches right away like most prof, Vitullo takes it slow. Instead of jumping right in you do things little by little. I absolutely hate public speaking, but Vitullo was so great!

Vitullo is great. He gives heavy constructive criticism, but if you work on what he tells you to improve then you should be able to pass his class with flying colors since he is really specific. Makes the class feel like a group of friends and makes you feel comfortable with the audience. He is also a great friend as well! An exceptional man!

Professor Vitullo is a phenomanal teacher! He's chairman of the comm. department but don't let that scare you. Took his class during a 6-week intercession and his lectures are enjoyable plus he's super humorous. He lays everything out detail by detail and explains everything thoroughly. He pays attention to details so just be aware.

This professor is the best of the best! He is super hilarious! I took his class winter 2017 and loved the class. There are three speeches and he does one with you. And lets you pick the topic. Cool professor. Textbook is used for quizzes and speechs are based on what you want to talk about. Get ready to stop saying um and like when you talk. And for the love of god, turn off your phones before you enter the class. P.s Theres about 100 points worth of extra credit so, theres no reason to fail
