Outstanding instructor.

He used focused powerpoints to convey material in an extremely clear and organized manner. He is willing to make himself available as well. Hes also got a great sense of humor, while still staying focused. It doesnt get any better. If your starting from scratch, he is a great way to start.

Pro. Wallace is great. He takes time w/students to make sure we comprehend the material. I recommend him to everyone who struggles with math.

i absolutely LOVED his class.he was VERY VERY thorogh and never stopped until the person askin the question understood what was being said.he went through every possible option 2 help them understand.he has a website that he designed geared 2 help u while ur at home 2 hear him again and how he explained it in class incase you forgot how he said it.

Professional; yet, very laid back & approachable! His knowledge and experiences with the subject added so much to the learning experience in this class. He ALWAYS had a way of maintaining control and respect in his classroom; with a smile on his face. By all means, try to get into his classes! I have dropped before and can finally say, I get it!

taking the hybrid class was a bit confusing at first and i actually felt extremely unhappy with the class in the beginning because of some misunderstandings, but when things were figured out i found that mr wallace is a really great instructor. i would recommend him to any 031 student.

GREAT teacher! I took the online version and had no problems, mostly because everything is worked out on videos which are a HUGE help. He is always more than willing to help out if you need him and he seems like he truly cares if you are absorbing the information. TAKE HIS CLASS, you won't regret it!

Professor Wallace goes above and beyond to help student learn algebra. His use of technology is outstanding. He response to student questions is timely and detailed. If you think you hate math, take John's class. He will change your mind.

Hands down, the best teacher at CSCC and by far the best teacher I've personally ever had. Mr. Wallace truly cares about teaching and helping students to understand what they are learning. He goes above and beyond what any average teacher does on a regular basis and isn't just teaching for a paycheck. He sets the bar high for my future professors!

Mr. Wallace has been incredible! I took one semester of Algebra in high school and my experience left me terrified to take this class. He is so helpful. If I don't understand something I send him the problem and he makes me a personalized video to explain it! (I am taking it online) He makes it totally understandable. Best professor ever!

Class is hard if you haven't took math in like 5 years like I did. But it was easy for others who took math last semester. Very helpful, will find helpful tutors for you.DO NOT MISS CLASS or you will be lost. Tries hard to be funny. Will ask you to email him funny videos to play before class and never play them.

Mr Wallace is a great teacher! I am okay at math, but Mr Wallace made understanding it so much easier. I ended up with only a c in the class but I know that's because my anxiety on the Final. As long as you do the work, he makes class fun and guides you on how to approach problems in more than one way.

Mr. Wallace was very helpful anytime I would need to ask questions, or clarification on anything. First math class in 10 years, but he was always quick to answer my questions and very patient and understanding even if my questions seemed silly. I would recommend this teacher to others!

Professor Wallace is an excellent instructor. Through out the whole course he responded to emails and request for help well within the 48 hours allowed. He is always willing to help and actually wants to make sure you understand the material.

I took DEV115 Hybrid with John & he is incredibly helpful. I have ZERO interest in math, John made it enjoyable to show up. Responds to questions most often within 30 minutes-even on weekends. Responses are via video as he works through specific problems for you. Gives many short cuts and tips. Fantastic, helpful, funny & cares about his students.

If you want to learn math then you need to have this guy as your instructor. He answers student questions very quickly and with video solutions. He even answers questions on weekends. He created practice quizzes and midterms to help us prepare for them. Every problem on his practice materials contained video solutions. I'm very happy I had him!

I had been out of school for many years to raise my children. I was very afraid of math but Mr. Wallace made it very easy to understand. He responds quickly to emails and has videos of math equations. I strongly recommend him for math courses. Good sense of humor and posts grades promptly. Did not use the textbook but Mymathlab is a must. A+++ guy!

Mr. Wallace did an awesome job. In a lot of web classes, you don't feel the instructors presence. This is not the case with Mr. Wallace. He is very involved. He creates videos and responds very quickly to email. Seems very nice and genuinely seems to love his job. I wish he taught more math classes. I recommend him to all my friends.

My God does this guy have patience. I cannot believe how many times he was willing to answer student questions that had just been asked--some students simply didn't listen. Professor Wallace is a God send!! I have ALWAYS been TERRIBLE with math, but Professor Wallace makes it so easy to understand and now I finally "get it!" This was Hybrid and Wallace was great, he made personal videos for my questions and also sent the class other classmates videos which was extremely helpful. I attended class on exam weeks to review and this was also extremely helpful. I have stalked to see if I could take my next course with him.

Dev. 0115 Hybrid Class taught by Mr. Wallace was my best class this semester. He is the best math teacher I have ever had. He made sure that each and everyone of us understood before moving on. I loved the personal videos he made for me when I didn't understand something and the way he teaches makes you feel like you knew math your whole life

Very good teacher!! I haven't done any math in 15 years and I got an A. He takes his time explaining the material so everyone understands it, and doesn't move on until you understand. Don't expect an A though. You have to earn it. He's willing to help you in any way you need, but he also expects that you'll put some effort into the work.

Really helpful and overall great professor. If you work hard, ask questions, and listen to him, you'll be fine. He's really good about going back to a problem or answering questions after class.

TAKE HIM! This was my second time taking Mr. Wallace since I have been at Columbus State and he was just as great as he was in DEV math. He really wants his students to understand and most importantly ASK QUESTIONS if they do not. He makes class fun with his crazy little jokes. He is very laid back but also serious about his work. Fair grader.

I found the Algebra class I took with John to be really easy. Aside from the easiness of the class I found John to be really helpful and nice. He always answered my questions. He made a lot of jokes and cares a lot about the students who actually show up and do the work. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the teacher for you.

Mr. Wallace (John) is laid back and easy going. He worked with me on a test extension but I had to document my absence (pretty strict about this). Corny kind of funny guy but that's good because math can be boring. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and ask questions and you will pass. He answers email questions with videos which helps a ton! Highly recommend.

Great professor with a personality. He did joke about "stupid questions" but that's just it, he was JOKING! Some people need to get a life. He did an outstanding job of explaining conecpts and totally answered questions well. If you can't learn math from him then you aren't trying.

He seems nice but his tone sounds like he doesn't take any crap from any students. I'm sure a lot of them try to get by with stuff. I would take him again without hesitation!

Mr. Wallace is AMAZING!! He is fair, is passionate about his students learning and make class engaging and fun with his laid back style. An AMAZING teacher. He breaks down the problems into understandable information, his videos are top notch. Hands out plenty of study and practice material for exams and provides the answers online with a video on how to do the problem. I've always had a bitter taste for math classes, but this class has definitely changed my perspective.

Very good. Don't think you will just show up and pass. You work for it he is fair and impartial. I recommend this class for anyone who needs it.

Class at OUP was super hard. He will help you and he definitely wants you to succeed but the lectures are long and the homework is heavy. He is very understanding of emergencies and whatnot but don't just skip class.

Mr. Wallace deserves a raise. He explains things in a way that's easy to understand. But you have to study and ask questions. In this class you do your work on a computer. The program doesn't do a good job at explaining things but this is where Mr. Wallace shines. His reputation as being a great and caring instructor is spot-on!

homework was done on mymathlab. he was very patient and really wanted you to understand. I understood what was to be expected on midterms and finals.

John (He keeps it on a first name basis.) Is a fantastic teacher. It doesn't matter how DUMB the question is, he will answer it with a smile. He's always cracking jokes and really knows how make tough questions seem easy. I would suggest this professor to anyone who is a slow learner, you'll receive the attention you deserve. Does take attendance!

I came into DEV0114 hating math and being terrible at it. Now with finals approaching I have an 86% overall in this class. That is thanks to John. He has a great way of explaining things and being there should you have ANY questions about the material. His practice midterms stick true to the real ones. He's an outstanding professor!

Using Alex is great, but he also provides practice tests with an answer key and videos that explain how to do it if you still aren't getting it!! Hope to take more of his classes going forward!

If I had Mr. Wallace my 12 years of grade school, I wouldn't be taking math in college. He percepts a clear understanding and makes the best videos to understand whatever problem you need. I wish he was the elementary algebra teacher. He was amazing.

He takes his time to help you understand the material. Some of his office hours were posted for another campus. He tries to keep his lectures short so we have more time to work on worksheets and practice midterms. We had more than enough time during class to get the help we needed which helped me get ready for the midterms. Take his class!

I completed Dev. 0114 Blended Short Term Flex class and I loved it. Mr. Wallace is passionate and explains the work very well. Show up for his class everyday and the class is what it is as he explains. Will take again.

Math is not my favorite subject. Mr. John made things easy. I had this class before and the instructor constantly walked behind me. Math is hard enough without someone always being behind you. Mr. John is on a 1st name basis. He's very laid back and easy to talk to. He's is always happy to help but you need to ask for it. Nice guy!

John was one of my favorite professors. His class is the only one I never dreaded going to even when we had test.

I took this class my first semester at CState and throughout all my years of high school and college, he taught me math better than any teacher i've ever had. He posts videos on blackboard of him working out math problems that may be confusing to you while you're at home doing homework which was VERY helpful to me. 10/10 recommend this professor.

Little input is given as it was a class through an outside source. However, when we did interact, he was very good at answering questions, repeated himself when I wasn't understanding and was overall an understanding guy.

I took the online version of this course using Aleks. Instructor responds very quickly to email and even called to help me a couple of times. He made me a couple of videos also. He is definitely an involved instructors, especially given this was a web course.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful John Wallace is. He goes out of his way to make sure his students get the help they need. He cares about how well you do, so long as you care about how well you do.

I had Wallace a few years ago & I loved his class! He made my worst subject, fun to learn and easy to remember! Professor Wallace was an amazing Professor who taught and guided this past Summer Semester (2020). Not only was he thorough with his grading, but also attentive and gave very good detailed feedback on work problems where corrections were needed. He is very empathetic and understanding and I would recommend anyone to take his course!

Honestly one of the best Math Professors I've ever had. I struggled for two semesters, with other professors, trying to pass this class but through his guidance, advice, feedback and encouragement I was able to FINALLY reach my goal of completing the requirements needed to pass this class. He was even easily accessible after class hours!

Professor Wallace is one of the best math teachers I've had. Let me be frank; if you do not do the work then you will not pass. The program is set up in way where if you don't participate three times than you will be removed. You have to be an adult and be on your deadlines. That being said, he is kind, understanding, & willing to work with you!

Professor Wallace was a very patience instructor that was willing to work with students before or after classroom hours. He explains and demonstrate difficult problems effectively on the board which make it easier to understand; and if you are not strong in mathematics, participation does matters, not for a grade, but for clarity.

TAKE HIS CLASS! I did not think that I could be great at math until I took Professor Wallace's class. He goes the extra mile to make sure everyone understands the math problems. There's assignments every week, but he goes over them in class. He's open to questions during class, and will stop if it does not make sense to someone.

This was a really great class. It's math, and I had to really push myself to focus and learn the material, but Professor Wallace is a great teacher. He really cares and wants to help you succeed.
