Started out this class with a horrible prof that you couldn't understand. I wanted to drop the course, but when we got prof Walsh after two weeks of the class, my opinion did a 180. I loved this class! Great prof who encourages you to participate. Take any classes he offers!
One of the best professors I've ever had. Extremely intelligent and interesting.
Absolutely amazing. So engaging, funny and knowledgeable. He made HIST2850 one of my favorite classes. Take a class with him if you can!
Best prof ever! I schedule my classes around the ones he teaches
Great teacher, fair marker. I got a 66 on an essay and I thought it wasn't fair. I took it to John and he looked over it and remarked it at an 80. TA really screwed up in my mind. I'd say he's the best teacher I've had to date at UoG.
Professor Walsh is the coolest thing to ever come out of a womb. End of story.
Amazing prof. Honestly was one of the nicest, and helpful human beings I have ever met. If you can, GET IN HIS CLASS!
By far one of the best profs I've ever had. Started out taking classical studies as a random elective but John made things so interesting that I continued with the course the following semester. GET IN HIS CLASS IF YOU CAN!
John is the most incredible professor I've had at university. Thanks to him, I've declared a Classics minor and I'm infatuated with the subject. He's made my time at university so much more enjoyable, and reminded me why I love learning so much.
One Word: Perfect. Don't miss out on having him as a prof!
best prof ever! so funny and awesome
Professor Walsh is the kindest person I have ever met. You can tell he enjoys what he does. He cares about all of his students. He creatively engages with students and the material in lecture. One word of advice, if you are having personal problems or need clarification, go see him in person! Don't email him, just go directly to him :)
I had J Walsh I while back, but every semester I look at my options to see if i can squeeze one of his classes into my schedule. He is engaged, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and give you real feedback. I hope he reads these comments so that he learns what a great job he is doing. P.S. I did find his final exam harder than expected.
My favourite professor by far. He made me want to take Classical Studies as my minor. The work is hard, he expects a lot, and you need to start working on his projects WELL in advance. But despite the difficulty he is a great prof and his lectures are hilarious. I look forward to his class every day. If you want a burn course, this is not for you
John Walsh is by far my favourite prof at Guelph-Humber. He's witty, intelligent and engaging. BUT! You really have to show up to every class and listen carefully to do well. AND beware of his exams! Definitely choose essay questions over multiple choice. Trust me! I've learned from my mistakes!
Prof. Walsh is the most passionate teacher I have ever had. His lectures keep you entertained the entire time. It was the only class I looked forward to going to. Its not an easy class, but its worth taking.
BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! He LOVES history and is so passionate about the subject. I took his mythology class at Guelph-Humber and it was so great I chose to take Classical Culture with him. He was also so engaging and kept your interest at all times. I will admit his exams can be difficult but it's totally worth it!
Such an amazing teacher, only a few weeks through the class but he's already my favourite. He is hilarious.. you learn best through humour and he's proven that. Lenient with quizzes and bonus points. He's passionate and charismatic, a great prof and a great person, you can see it on first impression
WALSH IS THE BEST PROFESSOR AT GUELPH! He is extremely passionate about the subjects he teaches and even more so he wants you to learn! There's not enough space in this box to list all his credentials. Hard tests but he is very helpful. GO see him during office hours. H'e s an amazing person in and out of class. Also HILARIOUS! bow-tie Friday!
WALSH IS THE BEST PROF EVER he's the greatest. And bow tie Fridays are the best - and he is the funniest prof I've ever had!
Over a four year science program I can say that Professor Walsh has been, without a doubt, the best lecturer I have every had teach a subject. I would switch my major if he lectured for all my classes. He BREATHES and LIVES his subject matter with the enthusiasm Achilles BREATHED and LIVED war. Also: THE BATTLES AND BOW TIES.
Great Professor, everyone should have this prof at some point in their time here at the University of Guelph!
By far my favourite prof at the University of Guelph!! He's so funny and explains everything in detail and answers any questions you have!! Super nice and easy to talk to. Amazing prof!
Great prof, tough but good. If you work hard and ask for help, you will do well in his class. Also keeps people entertained and you can tell he loves what he's talking about. Do NOT correct him for mispronouncing an ancient Latin name unless you are from a place where ancient Latin was spoken (therefore unlikely). He will take offence - ask Daniel.
BEST PROF EVER!
He is such a great teacher! really got me interested in the lectures and always made hilarious jokes and references!!
John Walsh is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is passionate about what he teaches and while he can be a difficult marker he is beyond hilarious! He actually makes class enjoyable and I always try to get into at least one class with him each year even though I am not a Classical Studies student.
He is my favourite professor ever. He is funny, enthusiastic, and very passionate. The only thing I can think of that he can work on is talking a little slower, and his slides are just pictures and sometimes titles, therefore there is nothing to go back to from the lecture slides unless you are a very visual learner. He should put detail into them.
I had him for Latin in my first semester and then took his Classics course SOLELY because he taught it. I plan to fill up all my ArtsSocial Sci. electives with John Walsh. One of the best profs you could hope for
Walsh is by far the best professor I've ever had! He is insanely passionate about his subject content, and makes lectures interesting, exciting and humorous. Attend class, as he lectures all of his content and only uses the slideshows for pictures. If you get the chance to have him as a prof - TAKE IT! You won't regret it!
John Walsh is one of the best lecturers at Guelph, and will make any class one worth attending. He is very helpful if you seek it out, but don't expect an easy grade! He makes you work for it, and you have to put in the effort for it!
Best lecturer I have ever had. He is hilarious and makes the material really interesting. Tests are usually in two formats (essay OR multiple choice) and you choose the one you prefer. Really wants you to succeed and enjoy learning. Everyone should take a class with Walsh at least once. He inspired me to do a second major in Classical Studies.
John Walsh was sent to Guelph by the Greek gods, he is a majestical human being that has graced the lands of UoG. This is the best course taught by the best professor. Walsh is the greatest he makes 3h lectures interesting this man should have an award for being the coolest professor to grace these lands. I recommend any courses taught by him.
Walsh is a really amazing lecturer, and it seems like story time when you're listening to him. The course material however isn't very clearly laid out, and its confusing to know what is expected of you on finals. The final was a list of about 100 topics which you write 4 essays, with no description of what is being looked for for marks.
Great prof! Keeps you interested throughout lecture, and is very fair in regards to paper and exam marking. He's ready to go the extra mile to make sure you do well!
The BEST PROF I've ever had. After taking CLAS1000 with Walsh, I changed my major to Classics. His lectures are AMAZING, engaging, fun and really interesting. He's extremely helpful with assignments and tests and is always willing to meet with you about anything you need help with. Take any of his classes, 100% you will want to take more with him.
He is my favourite professor
A beautiful, beautiful man. I highly recommend his classes if you are interested in the Classical time period. While he is there for you and willing to help, I did find his tests and midterm difficult. If this is the case, ask for help and he can help you. Lectures are amazing, you want to sit there and listen to him forever.
John Walsh is just amazing. Lectures are interesting, he makes the course material fun and enjoyable
My absolute favourite Professor! Every lecture was told like a story. I was excited for the next class to hear the rest! He tells life stories in lectures but they relate back and are hilarious! Exams are great because everything is short answer or essay questions and the questions are open to interpretation so you get marks based on what you know.
By far one of the best professors I've had, lectures are always interesting & pass by very fast. Lots of content and readings to do but can do fine without doing them as lectures are very clear and informative. He always made going to class enjoyable and easy to follow along. His exams are hard but of you study a lot they are manageable
Such an amazing prof, you will never get tired of going to this class and hearing him speak. Hate the classical studies but took this class as it was a degree requirement and had him for class 1000. Lots of content and readings to do. Start the research paper early as you have to read 2 works . Midterm and exam are hard but his lectures are amazing
Walsh is 100% my favourite prof. He's engaging, humorous, and an overall great guy. His lectures are like stories and go by in a heartbeat.
He's really interesting to listen to and is willingly to meet to talk to you about anything involving his course. He even edits papers for his class before their handed in if you're willing to arrange it. He's really nice and makes everyone feel important with a great sense of humor.
Such a fun class to take. Really enjoyed his lectures. Definitely one pf the best profs out there.
Easily the best prof i've had so far. Super interesting, nice and just everything about his classes is great, always willing to help. I hear he is hard for Latin though, beware the final.
Easily one of the best profs I've ever had, his humor made morning classes easier and he is clearly passionate about his field. A lot of content though, if you are looking for an interesting elective I highly recommend, if you are looking for an easy one look elsewhere.
Best professor I have ever had and lectures are amazing! As someone who is not a History major and took it as an elective, he made the course extremely interesting and he is hilarious! Recommend to anyone, although it is a lot of content to study for midterm/final so he makes you work for a good grade.
Fantastic Professor, lectures are amazing, but you have to go to them. He makes classes fly by and you wish for more. Super helpful and really fun to talk to outside of class and inside. Loves to answer questions and is hilarious! Couldn't recommend him enough.
John was an OUTSTANDING professor. His lectures were the most engaging I had ever attended, and I looked forward to his class every day. He was approachable, fair, theatrical, and made subjects that can be boring entertaining. If you have a chance to have him teach one of your classes TAKE IT.
I don't know why everyone thinks he's so good. Yes, his lectures were engaging but I thought he was kind of condescending.
Just an overall awesome and super engaging prof. Would absolutely take anything he's teaching. Not a super easy course, it is very content heavy but absolutely worth it. I'd take it again if I could!
I use no hyperbole when I saw this man is my absolute hero, take his classes, have your life changed forever. He's the type of man you only meet once in a life time, to describe John Walsh is impossible, he's someone to be experienced for yourself.
I never write reviews, but this is the best teacher I have ever had. I've never been so inspired and interested by a class, let alone an university class. He is adorably hilarious and truly likeable. Every story he tells comes to life, it is a true talent he has. I genuinely thought about switching to Guelph university so I could always have him.
John is the absolute best. He's hilarious, encouraging, and you can tell he genuinely loves the subject matter. He's very kind and cares about his students. He told us multiple times that our grades were not indicative of our value as people, and I thought that was so so considerate. You will not regret taking his classes :)
Alright. He is a great prof. 10/10 take him again, BUT he made the exam so hard. I have never in my life been so stumped. So many questions on the exam were asking what a phrase in latin said. It wasn't even a latin course, you cannot expect people to remember latin who have never learned it before!
Prof Walsh was one of my favourite profs yet! He is very approachable, kind, hilarious and just wonderful. You have to go to class though because his slides are just pictures. Because he's a classics prof, all the content is history/greek based so that can be a bit confusing if you don't know about that stuff. Lecture is fast paced and quick.
Walsh is my absolute favourite prof. His class is definitely lecture orientated, so if you don't show up to class be warned! His lectures are hilarious and he was a joy to listen to, I always looked forward to his class. He was an inspiration and I would take any class he teaches. A piece of advice for his classes, pay attention to the latin!
John has great lectures, hard midterm and final exams... but very excited always at 8 in the morning and very caring. you need to show up to his classes or else you will fail...
amazing prof. amazing lectures. captures your attention and makes it interesting to learn things. convinces you boring things are cool
John Walsh is definitely the best professor that I have ever had. He makes even the boring sections of his classes interesting and has a genuine love for what he studies. Gives the best lectures if you're passionate about what you're taking. Meeting him personally has changed my university experience. Attending his classes make my day 100 better!
John Walsh was an incredible prof, there is no doubt in my mind that I would have dropped this course if he hadn't been the one teaching it; he managed to make a student who HATES history memorize dozens of dates and genuinely enjoy a history-heavy course. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches and hilarious too!! would definitely reccomend
amazing
John Walsh is by far the best prof I've had in uni thus far. He's super funny and super nice. Tests are very hard though beware.
I LOVE JOHN WALSH!!!!!!! Seriously such an amazing professor because he is so knowledgeable but is still always cracking jokes and he makes everything he teaches so interesting! I would seriously recommend taking him at least once or you will be missing out!
He is an interesting professor, but he has extremely high and unrealistic expectations. He treats everyone like they are a history buff like him, but that's not always the case. His midterms and exams are extremely hard!! We had to read 2 entire textbooks for this class and if you don't attend class, you might as well take the L.
Took his class as my art elective and was not disappointed. He is super engaging, and hilarious and the course material is super cool! Exams are fair, but make sure to do the readings.
An enigma of a man, I've never met a more challenging yet knowledgeable and engaging professor in my life. I would highly recommend you take one of his courses. Attending lecture is a MUST and readings are important as well. Exam was extremely challenging as was mid-term, but with a lot of effort the course is passable.
Dr John Walsh is probablly the best prof I have ever had at Guelph! He is ver articulate but easy to follow, and he always knows when to crack a joke. The material we're learning is already interesting but John puts things into perspective by paralleling the ancient world to the modern. He is so cute and charming also and I always sit front row!
Just the BEST. So funny but also an excellent teacher and lecturer. Make sure you absolutely go to class and do the readings! Super great person and prof.
John Walsh is genuinely one of the nicest prof's at Guelph. Super knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Important to go lecture's as the a lot of the tests are based of his lectures. Overall great guy, and really good prof!
John Walsh is an inspiration for anyone who is lucky enough to be in his classroom. From formal to fun and hilarious lectures, John is a man who not only cares about your learning but also your well being. If he is your prof consider yourself lucky! The work is worth the stay.
Doctor Walsh is the best prof I had, a star that shines as bright as the light reflected from his head. His charisma and charm ignites a passion for his courses that makes you feel as though you are tuning into your favourite radio program. Attending lectures is a must and there is heavy textbook use but learning under this prof makes it worth it.
Best class I have ever taken! The lectures are very engaging and I always look forward to class. The assignments are very fair and set you up for success if you are wiling to put in the effort. I would 100% recommend this class to anyone
Dr. John Walsh is one of the best, if not THE BEST prof on campus. He explains well, is eager to help, and is entertaining. He aims to challenge, but not break you. He makes you feel valued as a person and tries to learn people's names. He's articulate, passionate, and can even make a dead language come alive. You won't regret taking his class.
He doesn't really give good explanations and expects us to do well. People have never heard of annotated bibliography and expected us to write that. He just tells us how to look for sources which was mostly common sense
Best. Prof. Ever. Is so interested in what he teaches. Explains everything so well. The tests, and exams are heavily based on lectures so make sure you attend. If there's not as many students in class one day he will give you hints for the exam so pay attention!!! Super cool and understand. My favourite class so far. Highly recommend his classes!
Absolutely amazing prof. He genuinely cares whether his students are doing well and eager to help if you are struggling. He is funny and passionate about his subject matter, with great lectures. He will reward the effort you put into your work. I was always happy to go to his classes. I chose two of his classes for electives and am so glad I did!
I have never wanted to attend class so badly in my life. I always feel like I have to try harder for fear of letting him down. His passion for what he teaches makes ME passionate. I've considered switching majors all because of this great man. Bravo. Walsh puts the CLAS in classical studies. Can't go wrong.
One of the best most inspirational profs I've had. I had him for a community project class so didn't get to see much of him but he really did make you feel that you were worth something with something to offer the world. I left his class feeling optimistic and good about myself. Would 100% take any class with him.
I imagine it would be tough to pass if you skip lectures, but I'm not sure why you'd want to anyways. An exceptional person and without a doubt the best lecturer I've had. Took his class as an elective and have taken other classics courses since just to have John as a prof. Might be okay without the textbook if you go to every lecture.
I have never enjoyed attending a class more. Dr. Walsh is absolutely AMAZING. He makes every student feel welcomed and cared for and genuinely is concerned for you. His lectures are so engaging there is no reason you'd ever want to miss a class. He without a doubt is the best prof I've ever had and is the best prof on campus.
John Walsh is one of the best teachers I've had in university. He is so passionate about what he is teaching that it will be impossible for some of his passion to rub off on you as well. He is witty, very knowledgeable and has great lectures.
He is VERY passionate about Classics and it shows in his lectures. Has my attention at all times, lectures were like listening to a story! He is a tough grader and had made the final exam 50% with two essay questions and over 100 multiple choice. Very tough course but he was an awesome prof!
John is an amazing lecturer and he's super knowledgeable. Even if you go in to the class not even knowing much about classical studies, you'll come out with an appreciation for Greece and Rome.
Walsh is by far the best professor I've ever had. He sets you up for success. He is hilarious and a gifted lecturer. Would def recommend. Not a fan of how much the final is weighted but it's fair. If you show to lectures he will make it memorable. Never bothered with the textbook. Found myself taking multiple of his courses. Very unique, go John!!
Refused to post lecture slides when I asked him to in order to help study for the final, very rude through email.
Took Classical mythology online as an elective. HARDEST course i have ever taken.
He is was the differnece in my education. His mentorship changed my life.
Classical Myth. You MUST read your textbook CAREFULY! His exam was one of the hardest I've done. Everything I thought would matter for the exam ie. learning the myths and major details of the gods was not enough! He will test you on little things that you may think has no importance in comparison to the more solid info you get from 16 chapters.
Positives: Walsh is a great guy and provided engaging and enjoyable lectures. Thus I did well in this course at first, walking into the final with an A. Negatives: Memorize literally every detail of the readings for the severely weighted final, and you might pass with a high grade. Little relevance to crucial information presented in lecture.
Took Classical mythology, quizzes were easily done got 100% on all. Discussions super easy 100% easily done. Then for the essay he is a bit tough make sure everything is reread he really cares about grammar. A very very very easy 80. If you even give your 50% you will achieve success forsure. 40% of the course mark is handed to you.
BEST GUY EVER!!!!!!!
Walsh is a great lecturer and keeps his students engaged in what he is teaching. The work for the course was hard but fair.
Genuinely enjoyable lectures. Genuinely enjoyable prof. Walsh is super kind and approachable. Course isn't too hard but does require effort.
Best prof ever!! Definitely take this class as Walsh really enjoys teaching and makes the lecture material a lot of fun. I actually showed up to all of his lectures because I wanted to come and hear him talk, not because I had to. He's very funny and very respectful and super easy to talk to.
Professor Walsh's lectures are very interesting and engaging. He's very funny and I enjoyed going to his lectures. One of the best professors!
Honestly, went into this class loving history and walked out hating it. Thanks to Walsh, I decided to change my major.
Honestly, as a history major myself we're glad you're gone. Guess he made you work! Enjoy your tantrum.
Walsh is a great professor, his lectures are amazing and hilarious, he is very understanding and accessible. However, you MUST read the textbook, preferably before the lecture. I procrastinated a lot and did not do my readings, and I really regretted it. This is a great class if you don't mind putting the extra time to study for it.
ONE OF THE GREATEST PROFS AT THE UNIVERSITY. IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO TAKE CLAS1000 OR CLAS2000, PLEASE DO!
You can't really get a better proof than Walsh. Amazing lectures which you'll want to go to. He really cares about each student and your going to want to do well in his course. Super funny and nice and really knows what he's talking about. 10/10 would take every single possible course I can with him
John Walsh is absolutely the best professor I've ever encountered. I would take one of his classes again in a heartbeat. He is personable, funny and his lectures are thoroughly enjoyable - you'll want to go to them! However, you will have to be ready to do a lot of heavy reading to do well in this course!
Great lecturer ! Super hard content tho
I took Latin, Greek Myth, and Roman/Greek history, and all of them were amazing. Hes a prof everyone recognizes and everyone loves. His M/C are based off things said in class, so pay attention in lectures. Hes absolutely in your corner if you go to his office hours and is an amazing speaker Textbook for Latin, not needed elsewhere
Actually my favourite prof on campus. Walsh is kind and accessible, and his lectures are so good that I went to every single one without skipping. He really makes you want to get to know him and really encourages you to do your best in class. He's fantastic.
An absolutely amazing guy! His lectures were engaging, informative and all out hilarious! He would always make sure to answer any questions students asked and would then tie in their questions even further with the course. Textbooks are a MUST if you wish to receive a good grade in his class. ALWAYS go to his classes. You won't regret it!
Did you even go to Guelph if you didn't take Walsh? Dude maybe tries to hard to be funny but his jokes still hit 75% of the time. If you need an elective credit, take him, go to class, read a bit, get the 70. Try hard and you should get an easy A
Best professor ive had (so far). Incredibly engaging and funny. Made the course very interesting and I was genuinely excited to go to class. You wont regret taking a course with this guy
Hands down the best prof ever. Walsh is always so passionate about his job and the topics. I absolutely loved his lectures and I never wanted them to end. His assignments are super easy and the tests are easy once you attend the lectures and read the textbook. Tip do attend all lectures, he's always dropping hits of questions that will be on tests.
He is the best prof at the university, very fun, the best at connecting with students and engaging them. very supportive and helpful.
Ok im not one to love history/classical studies or early classes but this man made me want to show up to his classes every morning. Sadly our classes were cut short due to covid-19 and i must say i'm upset i won't be taught by him again. He is such a happy man and really knows how to make the material interesting. Overall good guy 10/10 recommend.
so much fun
Walsh is 100% one of my favourite professors at this school. He makes every single lecture so much fun and I genuinely have a great time in his classes. One of the kindest souls I've met at Guelph. 100% recommend. There are a few group projects but they're super fun so I didn't even mind!
What a great prof! Wish I was in a different major so I could take more classes with him, he's an absolute gem. If you ever get the chance to be in one of his classes, absolutely take it!
John Walsh is the best prof Ive ever had. In a heartbeat I would switch my major so I could take all his classes!
Literally the best prof ever. Kinda a difficult course, but what a gem. There isnt much I wouldnt do for that man.....
Obviously anyone rating him so highly has never spoken to him privately or needed clarification/assistance with errors. When it comes to problem solving and there are MANY problems with this course and his instructions, he isnt helpful at all. Weekly engagement activities that have no rubric or clear instructions, gives out 0% easily.
He was very inconsistent about how assignments would be evaluated. He also said that people who submitted the rough draft for the final paper would receive feedback. Yet, they only got general feedback that was not very useful. I only recommend CLAS2000 for people who are extremely passionate about classical mythology. Not a good elective.
I learned it doesnt take much to get most university students to like a professor. All he has to do is make a joke about alcohol. Do not take a class of his, he will lower grades despite you, gives no rubric for weekly activities worth 20%, instructions arent clear and when you reach out for help his response will be condescending.
Everyone should have a course with John Walsh during their time at the University of Guelph. Lectures are amazing and he makes the content enjoyable and interesting. He is also very caring and understanding of personal circumstances. By far one of the best Professors at the University.
Walsh is such a great prof, you can tell he loves his job and his courses, and he cares for the students. This course is very lecture heavy with no information on the slides, you need to take really good notes every class, DONT ONLY WRITE THE SLIDES! So much reading, 2 textbooks for one semester.
Prof. Walsh is one of my favourite lecturers I've had. You can really tell he loves his topics because he expresses it in his classes. There was a lot of essay writing between a paper, term paper, midterm, and the exam, but I felt like it was easy enough to prepare for everything and I was happy with my grade.
Literally the best teacher I've ever had.
Bad guy straight up.
he was literally my bestie
Prof. Walsh made every lecture enjoyable and he is very knowledgeable about ancient history. However, I would not take this course again. There was a lot of (dry) reading to do for each lecture, and his slides have no text on them (hi furious typing/writing). The midterm and final were fair, but insanely long: 120 mc + 1 essay in 2 hours? Really?
I had him for classics in my first year semester 1 and he's a super nice dude, it's obvious he loves what he does but oh my god was his class insane. He doesn't respond to emails, his slides are useless and his exams are insane. The midterm was 65 questions in 45 minutes and the average was around 50%. I wouldn't recommend, esp for your first year
Fun guy, cares about the course material a lot more than any other professor which makes it engaging to learn about. If you put the effort in you will get the grades you want, don't take this thinking it's an easy elective. Every lecture is mandatory, there's no notes on slides, and midterm was pretty difficult (65 MC questions in 50 minutes).
Prof. Walsh is passionate and engaging. The course has a lot of writing, but the material is interesting. Attend lectures, use the textbook, and try Unstuck study for study prep - it really helps!
Prof Walsh is a very funny engaging professor but his lectures were very fast pace and content was unclear at times. His tests, midterm and exam was very unfair and overall difficult ( 200 mc questions in 2 hours on final exam). If you need an arts elective I would suggest taking anything else, this course was not easy.
Definitely not the easiest elective to take but well worth it. John Walsh brings energy and excitement to every lecture as well as being engaging and funny. Sometimes he can seem a bit self-centred but overall an outstanding professor. Midterm and final needs lots of prep, keep up with all the reading because they are on tests, and review notes.
Good prof, not really a people person behind closed doors kinda makes you feel stupid over simple questions but he means well. Assigments are easy tests are hard and if you dont go the class your failing. He a cool guy had me laughing at every lecutre. Overall a good guy and prof from a distance wouldnt suggest asking him any kid of dumb question.
Overall really good professor, lectures are incredibly entertaining. However it is hard to understand material if you miss a lecture as the lecture slides tend to be without text or information that does not make too much sense without knowing what was said during the lecture. Also very understanding for tests and assignments.
He's a beauty. Guy's really funny, makes the material fun. Although tests are really hard, it's part of the class. Don't miss any lectures and readings and you will be fine.
Best prof I've had so far, no question. I believe taking one of his classes is part of the UoG experience 100%.
Best prof I've ever had. Attendance is mandatory, and pretty much only posts pictures on his slides, but totally worth it. Super funny and a great story teller so everything is super easy to remember. Assignments are easy af, need the textbook for them but they're 100%s. MANY quiz questions are identical to midterm and final. 2nd midterm is harder
My favourite prof to date! His passion for the content, his humor, and his clear knowledgeability makes the lectures extremely engaging. Attendance is mandatory as his slides consist primarily of images with little text, weekly online quizzes, four easy assignments, two multiple choice midterms, and a multiple choice final exam.
Very good teacher, super nice and funny, but made the tests impossible. Barely focused on what was mentioned in class and just made it all based on quotes like who said this from the textbook.
I would def take his class again! you could never get bored listening to his lecture and he also makes a lot of jokes
My single complaint was the frequency with which he made analogies between spears/towers and male anatomy, but was an amazing teacher. Very pleasant lectures to attend, testing was all multiple-choice questions that accurately reflected things he specifically bring attention to rather than things referenced by single sentences. 10/10
Good prof, super nice but when it comes to evaluations hes awful. On the evalutions he picks the smallest details that where barely covered and doesnt really focus on what was mentioned in lectures. Also very few chances to increase your mark only 1 test, midterm and exam. Definelty would not take again.
