notes and lots of lecture, but not hard, good teacher
Easy, likes to talk about other topics than psych, boring lectures but nice guy.
Talk a lot, especially about stuff not related to psych, but not very hard
No Comments
very hard class, 1 of the worst i've had
Nice guy
STUDY A lot of info, great prof, days off for nice weather! final exam optional
cancelled class often, pointless lecture, stupid tests.
Nice guy, lectures more than involves, essays are hard, tests from book
awesome intelligent guy, tough but worth it!
lectures 4ever..nice guy, lots of info
very boring classes, easy m/c tests and take home essay. Great teacher
Very nice, cancelled class a few times, predicatble tests.
annoying..uses his arms a lot and is boring..
I've had better, I've had worse. A little independent work, but not that hard.
boring class but very easy, his is a very nice guy, extremely helpful
Great teacher but you have to be able to deal with lectures. He makes it fun...
if u need to take experimental psychology. this is the guy who can teach it... DO NOT use Fracasso. Webster is very clear and organized
He's one of the main reasons I've changed my major to Psychology. His class was always interesting. The tests were a little difficult, but I feel that I brought a lot out of the course. He prepares you for what is to come in the Psychology major.
In this class, PSYC of Learning, he really knows his stuff. Tests were kind of disorganized but was mult. choice mainly and came stright from notes. Dropped our worst quizzes (online) and article reviews and our worst test. B at least with if you listen.
nap time. tests were extremely difficult, studied for three days, notecards and all and still received a C. you actually need to know who came up with each study. irrelevant when it comes to studies that are not at all famous
A genuinly nice person, but class a little boring and tests kinda tough, Drops like 3 lowests grades for quizes, assign., and one test. Got c's and d's on the tests, but am still going to get a B in the class.
He was a nice guy. Lectures are kind of boring. He drops I think 3 low grades, 1 test and 2 quizes.
great man. easy to understand, multiple choice tests, open to questions and redirecting discussions to allow you the best understanding. takes attendance but always tries to make it interesting. fair grader - take him
Talks a lot, and kind of digresses from the topic. Tests often cover material not discussed in class so it's important to read the text and take notes. No midterm, quizzes, or homework... just a research paper due on the last day of class.
Great teacher. Definately need to STUDY hard for the tests. Very friendly and enthusiastic. Material covered in class is clear and he uses good examples relating to real life to help understand better. Good Man
His lecture is very clear and has good examples. He knows what to say and in every class he knows which part we should start! Quizes are from the book, and test are from the quizes, book, and mostly his lecture.I love friday cuz we don't need to go class!
he is a nice guy! his lectures are a little boring and he sometimes rambles but he is willing to help you.
Lectures are painfully boring, nice guy, tests arent too hard (4 of them), 1 paper due at end of the class
Good teacher, you can tell he likes his job. The only bad thing is that the class is only based on 4 tests but he drops the lowest score. Lectures are boring, and tests are hard, so be prepared to study.
Very very boring. He is a very nice man but his lectures will put you to sleep. His tests are pretty hard but if you study you will do fine. Dropped the lowest test for our class. I don't recommend as a first choice but he is a good teacher.
The material is kinda hard to master perfectly. If you just come to class and study your notes and read the book, you are going to get at least a B. He's a great teacher and he really loves his job. If you have the chance take him.
Quizzes are online and easy, one 1page summary per week is graded very easy, tests rather simple (all M.C), final exam was optional
Is a very nice person (you can tell he enjoys his job), but lectures are boring at times. Only 4 tests and 1 paper due at end; tests are pretty difficult and often contain topics not discussed in class: read your book! Does seem willing to help if needed.
He's very friendly, and his class is mostly reading.
Really nice guy, and tries to make lectures interesting instead of just droning on. Would highly recommend.
His lectures jump all over the place. Notes are hard to take in an organized mannor. He's nice...but practically the whole class falls asleep every lesson. It's like my nap hour. Notes don't follow with book either.
webster is a nice guy, but very boring, there's not a lot of work (4 tests, 1 paper) but you have to learn the material yourself by reading the chapters, the tests have a curve, though
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T LIKE PSYCH. Pick another class from the Gen.Ed category because this class is insanely boring. Webster is very nice though, but you have to read boring texts and listen to LOOONG lectures to pass.
very boring. Had to learn the material myself because his lectures never followed what was on the tests. Just read the book and don't ever go to class, EVER. Would not recommend if an easier teacher is available
Really nice guy, but lectures are boring. Be sure to read the book, as the tests don't always follow the lectures. Kinda hard to take notes in an organized manner b/c lectures jump around sometimes, but you can tell he loves his job. Overall a good professor.
nice man but really really boring! as long as you read the chapters, try to come to class often & take notes, & do the online study guides you should be okay. no homework, just a 4-6 page paper at the end and 5 tests.
Dr Webster was great, sometimes boring but always seemed to grab your attention some how. if you do the online quizes then its an easy B and a possible A. Test are all multiple choice.
Enthusiastic, attention-grabbing style makes him one of my favs. Plus I learned a lot without needing to consult the textbook constantly. His tests are easy, and he gives online quizzes which are simple too. Show up. Take notes. Enjoy.
Had him in Spring '96. Encouraged me to take his class at registration (before online reg). Professional yet light. Easy to follow, friendly guy, and his exams didn't make your head spin.
Lectures are borringg. Its almost hard to motivate yourself to go to class when you know the notes will be on blackboard. Overall though he is a sweet guy and the class is easy as long as you study. The tests are all multiple choice and fill in the blank.
nice man, kind of reminds me of mr. clean. He seems to really love what he's teaching, but the lectures can get a little dull. Although, you don't even need to attend class because he posts the PowerPoints online. Quizzes online are open book, 10 questions, so no reason you shouldn't get As on them. Read the chapters & no reason not to get an A.
This guy is the ultimate talking sleeping pill. Within 5 minutes of lecture, you will fall asleep, so do yourself a favor and bring a pillow. His tests can be tricky at times and must be studied for in detail. The slides are not enough! His reviews are time consuming but the quizzes are easy.
Great teacher. Supplies you with as much information as possible and makes it incredibly hard for you not to do very well.... even if you don't show up to class all the lecture notes are always posted on Black Board and he's always willing to help if you feel something isnt' correct.
Nice guy but the class is ridiculously hard. The ppts help somewhat but aren't as clear. You have to really STUDY for the exams and not reading the chapters isn't optional. You MUST read the chapters if you want to pass. My advice SKIP this class.
BORING. CLASS PUTS U 2 SLEEP. VERY ENERGETIC GUY THOUGH. VERY NICE. MATERIAL IS HARD. USES POWERPOINTS. NOTES ON BLACKBOARD. GOTTA READ THE BOOK OR U WILL B LOST N SPACE.
Great guy. Lecture is a little boring, straight from power point. everything is posted on blackboard. on line quizzes that if you get 7 or more right on you get full credit. easy tests with curves. teaches with a lot of enthusiam. i recommend taking his class.
Loves what he does, and is good at it, BUT with attendance not being mandatory its really easy to skip it. Reading is a must to succeed in the class, so is taking online quizzes and being there before test days
This guy is crazy! The material is pretty interesting. He posts all the notes on blackboard, but you have to go to class to understand them. Questions on the test are pretty confusing. Basically, if you go to almost every class and sit through his antics, you'll be fine.
Print out the lecture notes before class and read the textbook! Really nice guy and knows his stuff, but doesn't give the most thrilling lectures. there are opportunities for extra credit and he gives nice curves on the tests! Online, open book quizzes before the tests. Just read and try to pay attention and you will get an a!
he is a nice and funny guy, but his lectures are boring. he took attendance in the beginning but stopped, and his lectures are on blackboard.. his tests are pretty easy depending on if you read and looked over his lectures.. i would take it with him if you want a somewhat easy class, and a really funny guy.
Nice guy, good teacher. Lectures are pretty boring, but it's obvious that Professor Webster is passionate about what he's teaching. Class involves bi weekly online quizzes, 4 MC tests. No real midterm/final. Just read the book and you should be set.
Took attendance the first month or so, then stopped. You really dont even need to come to class. Just read read read the text, and you should get at least B's on tests. Class is BORING. He's nice, but boring as hell.
I just took webster in the fall '08 semester and I would definitely recommend taking him for psych. there's 4 tests including the final (which isn't cumulative) the online quizzes are easy, and he curves the tests. i learned a lot..he's very outgoing and makes the lectures less painful than they can be..easy A
Fall o8 semester. Great Guy. My friend recommended him to me. READ THE BOOK!! it comes loose bound, so be sure to keep it together. I got it bound at staples for $3. Takes attendance. His tests are crazy so you have to study as much as possible I highly reccommend him. :D
Passionate about what he is teaching, although its kindof tough material. Attendance not mandatory BUT he gives GREAT examples in class and explains things from all angles thoroughly. Fair grading, tests have multiple choice, t/f, fill ins, and online quizzes you take b4 tests that are graded either pass or fail. Also 2 short articles due b4 tests
Good teacher, can be a bit boring at times, but overall a really good class. Tests were kind of hard, but he usually had a curve. Quizzes are taken online and can really help boost your grade
Dr. Webster was an engaging, interesting, and caring professor. As a class, we had to take 8 online quizzes, do psychology research pool, and take 4 multiple choice tests. I would recommend to read the book, print out the lecture outline, and copy verbatim what Dr. Webster is saying in the lecture. You have to really study to do well. Good class!
Hes a great teacher, you can tell he enjoys what he does. Attendance isn't mandatory & he posts all of his notes online. You take several online quizzes. Get 7/10 and you pass them. Tests are crazy hard. You definitely have to study/read/pay attention to understand and get a good grade. Theres some extra credit. If you read, you will do well.
Great guy, makes this class very interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, some online quizzes. Read the textbook and take time to study for the exams, but exams are straightforward. Curves and provides extra credit. Definitely recommend this professor.
has all notes on website, read book. four tests, noncumulative. tests are based on class lectures and book. online quizzes, need 7/10 to pass. straight forward class, i'd recommend it if you need this class.
He is very helpful, you have 4 tests and quizzes for each chapter. He gives a curve on his tests, and he really wants you to do well.
Ugh. That's all I have to say. The class was extremely easy but Webster's lectures, however entertaining are all over the place. I literally sat there and had to create my own outlines of the chapter. Minimal/no classwork. Just reading and quizzes. Overall an easy class. He says attendance counts but he stopped taking it after a few lectures.
He LOVES teaching this class! You can tell it is his passion. His class is a lecture and there is no classwork. He is a very good lecturer. There are 2 tests and one final (not cumulative) and you have to participate in a research pool (takes 10 minutes). If you aren't a good test taker I wouldn't recommend him but I loved him.
MC/fill in blank tests (3). online quizzes. 6 article reviews. lectures are all over the class. puts chapter outlines on blackboard so you can bring them to class to take notes on. pretty easy class. kind of boring.
Boring. Gets distracted easily. Online quizzes due the day of the test.
cutest guy ever!! he gets distracted easily but if you read the book and come to class the tests are not that bad. i didnt study for any of them and have gotten high c's on all of them. if you actually studied you will do fine
He is a good professor but can ramble a bit. The material is a bit dry but that is to be expected. He has a lot of passion about the subject and likes what he does. It is a tough class but I was going into it expecting that.
Prof. Webster is a really nice man and he's a good teacher, but his lectures are extremely boring! He really knows what he's talking about and he's really interested in the subject. There's online quizzes and 4 tests including the final. He posts lecture notes and chapter outlines, definitely study those, read the book for tests, and you'll be fine
least favorite psych class, it could be really interesting because webster knows the material but he rambles so much that i literally get nothing out of the lectures but i go b.c. he takes attendence (though doesn't count it he says), one big paper at end of sem and reviews of articles/online ch. quizzes and 4 exams which are actually kind of hard
He is a good guy, but his class is SOOOOO BORING!!! My friends have told me about other teachers and how they all got As but I guarantee you will not in this class. DONT TAKE
Dr. Webster is the worst professor at towson university. He rambles, not clear, and his teacher assistant is a complete dummy. He makes the class harder than it is, seriously coming from someone who studies, take it with someone else.
Probably my favorite professor of the semester. He tends to go off on rants a lot but his stories always ended up teaching us something. He's incredibly nice and approachable, not an easy A but if you pay attention in class and study the textbook before tests you'll do fine. Definitely recommend him
Dr. Webster is a wonderful man but he rambles and loses the interest of many easily. His online quizzes are very easy and there are only three tests. Theres extra credit opportunities and attendance isn’t mandatory. However, there needs to be a lot of individual work done for this class. It’s very dense material.
He's a really nice man but the lectures get boring. He tends to ramble about off-topic stories. There are online quizzes you need to take before the exams which aren't too hard. The final isn't cumulative which is good too
Professor Webster tends to ramble on a lot, but if you actually pay attention he doesn't go off topic. His lectures actually helped me when studying for his exams. There are three multiple choice exams that are pretty easy if you study and the final is not cumulative.
I got an A in the class. The online chapter quizzes are just like his online review quizzes. You have to study really hard for his exams.
never payed attention once in class. took the online quizzes with friends and barley studied for the tests. got a B+ in the class. if you're looking for a class which no attendance is taken and you dont need to do much for a good grade, take him.
Nice guy but miserably boring
Awful!!!!!!! Our class will maybe get through a total of 4 or 5 bullets throughout the entire class. He gets so off topic that I can't even remember where he started. People get up and leave in the middle of his lectures because they are so unbearable.
The class was so boring! He only taught straight out of the book. You didn't need the class to do any of the work.
This was probably the worst teacher I've ever had. He doesn't reply to emails, he takes FOREVER to get through anything and his tests are awful. He is so useless and doesn't even help if you're confused. And his notes don't help at all if you don't pay attention and it's soooo hard to pay attention in that class. DO NOT take this teacher, ever.
This was absolutely the worst class I have ever taken. Professor Webster rambles and we barley get through 2 bullets in a 50 minute period. We spent a month and a half on chapter one, then rushed through everything else. I basically had to teach myself from the book, and with this subject it is very hard. Do not take this professor!
Not bad! Very very nice guy. He understands that stuff happens. Not too hard of a class.
Very nice guy but the class is very boring. He presents information in a way that is expected in grad school, not undergrad. Not a terrible class, just dont take it with any other difficult classes.
You can totally cut class and no one would care but it is a "teach it yourself" type of class. read the textbook a lot, that's the only way to pass. There is no final which is nice but I would not recommend this class.
He is an awful professor. His lectures teach you nothing, and you basically have to teach yourself the class. I would not recommend him. He is a pretty easy grader though.
Unless you like teaching your self, don't take this class. He takes attendance but no one ever comes because his lectures are useless. All he does is ramble. Test are always multiple choice but still tough considering you have to teach your self.
Such a boring class. All he does is go over the powerpoints, most times he gets off topic. I stopped listening honestly. Just go over the powerpoint and read the book, you'll be fine.
Cognitive psychology with webster was super confusing for me. I would have to self teach myself the material from a 12 page study guide and I would end up sitting clueless during tests anyway. Lectures are horrid and his notes are so unorganized. They dont correspond with the book AT ALL. He has 3 tests and one paper and a extra credit paper.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! I took professor Webster's class as an add on to my class schedule hoping for an easy graded class. He gets completely off subject and will start talking about his life experiences. If you get the chance to avoid taking his class, do not register for his class. I received a B and I still hated this class!
Only professor I had that I didn't like. He doesn't teach you anything. I stopped going to lectures and taught myself everything because lectures are useless. Tests are not difficult if you're willing to study the textbook in addition to power points. He gets so far behind, we didn't end up doing 3 chapters that we were supposed to.
He's very nice but he has no idea how to teach. His lectures are very slow and repetitive and what he talks about isn't on the tests. You have to read the book and take notes yourself because he doesn't teach anything in class. I only went on days we had tests because going was so pointless.
Professor is so sweet and very very knowledgeable- this is great but can be hard to follow. Often goes off in tangents. Only 3 tests and one paper which is nerve racking but do-able. Tests are not outrageous. An extra credit paper option as well. He uses no technology and talks the entire time, stick it out and you'll do fine.
Had a horrible experience with professor Webster. Very sweet man who doesn't mean any harm, but cannot teach a lecture. Goes off on tangents and falls behind very often. You should avoid this class at all cost, unless you don't mind reading the entire test book and teaching yourself.
I taught myself all of the material. He rambles on for the whole lecture period about topics completely unrelated. There are much better psych professors to take. For tests, you have to teach yourself out of the online textbook DO NOT BUY A HARD COPY he requires the online version which is so much more expensive and going to class is pointless
LOVED THIS CLASS, but I also loved Psych in high school and was already familiar with this stuff. Lectures and material really interesting, and he likes to make jokes. Tests are long and sometimes challenging, I got A's on all. Always include extra credit. Only 1 short paper for the class. Lots of chapter quizzes that can make or break your grade.
Tests are difficult if you skip class. He puts notes on blackboard but they are very vague, almost forces you to go to class to better understand them.
One of the worst classes I've taken. The outlines don't match his lectures and the chapters in the book don't match either so when it comes to tests it's impossible. 3 tests noncumulative, final paper, optional extra credit paper. Was better off not going to class and reading the book.
He rambles on about nonsense, taking 20 minutes to go over something like operant conditioning. If youve taken psych before and just need it for a grade then he wont be bad to take but I gave up listening to lectures by the end and just taught myself from the book
Pretty straight-forward lecture class. He's nice, pretty rambly and boring to listen to for 75 mins straight. Use his outlines & the text since he doesn't make study guides and the review session was 5 mins long. Got As on all my tests, which aren't absurdly hard. He has pop quizzes so going to class is a good idea. Boring but easy class
Dr. Webster is very knowledgeable about the information he teaches and is willing to answer any questions you may have. When he does "get off topic" he still connects the "ramblings" to the information he is presenting in his lecture. He is fair with his grading and the exams and quizzes are easy if you take time to study and pay attention.
never paid attention in class. attendance is not mandatory, your research pool hours are your attendance. 4 quizzes and half are online. he curves the midterm. i make flashcards for every unit and then study them before the midterm and i did fine
3 exams and a 5 page paper. Exams are easy even f you don't go to class and just read the book. The papers a summary of a journal article and is pretty easy. Attendance doesn't matter and he gives 10 points of extra credit by dong 2 research pool credits. He also curves most of the exams. Take him!! Hes also super nice.
Professor Webster is a really nice man but his lecturers feel a million years long. He gives lecture outlines but it takes really long to get through them. There are only three tests the third one is counted as the final and there is one paper to write. So if you are okay with teaching yourself the content sure but if not maybe find someone else.
Hes a cool dude. very nice and caring but hard to follow in class (literally cannot hear him often). gives outlines and then lectures freely. Best to read and follow along. exams are multiple choice and "hard" because of the content but if you follow the outlines and read you will do fine. Hes okay but not the best.
Prof Webster is really nice and you can tell he cares a lot about psychology, but his lectures are EXTREMELY boring. Attendance isn't mandatory which makes it very tempting to skip and thus makes the tests harder to pass. Psych overall is a pretty easy subject to understand though.
He is actually a very nice person but he can't teach. His outlines are very hard to follow because it doesn't match with the textbook. It was like a self-taught class. Grades were based on 3 tests (kind of hard) & an article review. This was his last semester, he retired! so you don't have to worry about taking his class anymore :)
I seem to be in the minority but I love Websters lectures, hes very engaging and tells stories that illustrate his points well. Hes one of the nicest profs I've had. Tests are easy if you pay attention in class and do the reading plus he always gives extra credit. Tests are not cumulative. The paper was super easy. Take this prof. You'll love him
Hes the sweetest professor I had this semester but his lectures feel like an eternity because he goes off on a lot of tangents. He does share lots of stories and you can tell he cares about what he does. Only 4 tests and one very small paper. If psych is your major I wouldnt take him but otherwise hes not that bad
Theres 3 test including the final and a short paper. The test are tough but just read and use the outline for notes you should be good. The test always include extra credit too so that's a plus. Lectures can be boring but class isn't mandatory so it's up to you if you go or not.
Professor Webster was really nice but his lectures were boring. If you read the textbook you should do fine on the exams. He doesn't put a lot of things in the grade book. There are three exams and one essay. It's hard to stay focus at times because his lectures are long and tedious.
He is a very nice person, is very passionate about what he is teaching. He may get off track but overall it's an easy class, just take notes and pay attention and you will pass.
The fact that we are online is very hard for this man. Tech issues every assigned class time. Rip my education
Professor Webster is one of the best professors I've had. He likes to tell "stories" but they always have to do with the topic. If you ever need one on one help, he will email you and be very understanding with your needs. He is just an amazing professor who will help you with every step of the way and wants you to succeed in class and in life.
Professor Webster is probably not the best professor to take an online course with. He had many technical difficulties. I feel like he would've been better if classes were in person. He gave an amazing extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester. We had one essay all semester but he didn't explain the grades he gave us.
The professor is nice but the lectures are quite boring and can be overwhelming with the amount of information he says. Workload wise there's not much. Only quizzes and 2 exams and one 3 page paper are graded. Not the best at answering emails efficiently and can be forgetful when you ask him to make corrections for grades. He does give extra credit
only problem is he talked a lot but he was pretty easy just listen and read, his quizzes were pretty easy super nice as well
Webster seems super nice and chill but his lectures can feel like they last forever, which is unfortunate because Im a Psych major. But as long as you pay attention/ take notes, you will do fine in his class. You have to do a research pool, 3 page essay, and stuff but its not too bad. Just show up and pay attention. Hes fine.
very very easy to pass ive been to like 4 classes this semester and have an a just make sure your doing the work and study the things he gives cause its pretty much spot on with what is on the test. also there r so many quizlets on the stuff we learn
If you can take any other class, do so. He does not do any power points, so you have to listen to him talk for over an hour. It's so hard to follow him, he goes on and on and gets off topic. The tests are too hard, he words them to the point that you can't understand the question. The only good thing is that there isn't any homework.
Take someone else. He is a super nice guy, but his teaching style is more for grad school. He trails off when he is speaking, and a lot of time spends lecture time on things you will not be tested on. You will have to get the book and teach yourself. His outlines are hard to follow, and the quizzes and tests are excruciating.
He is very nice, but I am struggling in this class. He is very educated on the topic, but he should teach grad students. He rambles in class and this class is advanced but he does not make it easy to learn material. Tests and quizzes are difficult and our only grade.
Professor Webster is a great human being who truly make learning easy. Although he is lecture heavy and talks a lot, his class is extremely interesting and if you apply yourself you'll learn a lot. His teaching style isn't beneficial for everyone but as long as you listen the best that you can you'll do fine. Quizzes and tests are very manageable.
Honestly he was a nice guy and he curves test, but his lecture were boring and it felt long. There is a 3-page paper and 6 credits. I will say make a group me chat with your class, read the book and lecture and as your reading the book look at definitions and examples of the definition cause on quizzes he usually does examples of the definition.
Absolutely horrible, only rambles about off-topic things. Only two exams and a paper for our grade. Does not provide study guides.
I did not enjoy Professor Webster's class. He's a good person but he doe not talk loud enough, even when sitting in the front row, does not explain concepts clearly and requires a lot of reading. The only thing that saved me were that the tests were not in class and he gave us plenty of time to complete it.
Professor Webster is a knowledgeable lecturer, but his teaching style may not suit all students. Utilize resources like the textbook and Unstuck ai to excel. Exams and assignments are manageable with dedication.
