He is an excellent teacher, although the subject matter is dry. He assigned only one short paper. His tests are not difficult if you read the corresponding chapters to his lectures. Main emphasis, come to class, try not to miss any days.

I think as long as you show up and take notes on everything he says you will be ok...just make sure that you have a buddy to help incase you miss something...or tape recorder...but a hint on the tests he likes ship questions and his tests come directly from his lectures

Hard tests but great material, like to tell funny stories about people in history. Makes really bad history jokes... but they are okay.

Mr.Moody takes notes every class, does one paper a year, and has about three tests a semester. Everything that is on his tests was always in the notes. He hates the french! Lol. He has a pretty good sense of humor. Overall, if you want an easy A or B, this guy is the way to go.

This is how the class will go: you need to go EVERYDAY to take notes the entire class. Study the notes, take 4 tests. One easy paper. The tests come directly from the notes and they arent hard or tricky. My advice: if you take his class just GO. I hardly did a thing, got an A on my paper but didnt study and passed with a C.

The class was real easy and so were the tests. It is crucial that you go to class and take notes everyday but do not bother buying a book (I never even opened mine). I hated history but i would gladly take another class if Moody taught it.

Umm...there aren't many surprises dealing with this teacher. He's pretty straightfoward. Do exactly as he tells you for the most part and read EVERY SINGLE handout he gives you. Act as if each test is your last. Study like your life depended on it.

I was trying to take all of the classes that Dr. Moody tought in FCCJ. I managed to take 3 history classes with him. I love the way he teaches and I learned new technics of taking notes at class. Great guy, easy going. There were 4 grades, 3 tests and a short paper on anything related to American History. If you attend all the classes, he will factor in 10% of your final grade and add it to the total. By the time I took the final, I needed to score a 48% to keep an A for the course. I had not been to college since 1985,and it was still easy

AWESOME Professor!!! I did not think I would like a "lecture" only class, but he made it exciting and would throw in some humor. I recorded every class just in case I missed something, but he would repeat whatever he said if asked. He gives a list of terms - know them and you will get an A, and he will also give a bonus if you attend every class.

If you are the kind of person who hates history, you will not like this class. It is a non stop lecture. I enjoyed it because I like history, but my fellow students not so much. Bonus points are available on every test, the last test I took I got a 113 with the bonus points. Recommended to anyone who enjoys history.

Take as many notes as you can, read over them a couple of times before each test, and you'll do fine. He doesn't give homework. You'll want to go to every class, otherwise you'll miss too much data. It's a three hour class, but it's not boring at all.

This is the 2nd course I have taken with Dr. Moody. I received an A in the first class also. He posts his power points on blackboard. Just print them out and bring them to class and use them to take notes. He is strict on the papers, make sure your grammar etc. is correct. Nice guy who is obviously very passionate about his field.

Professor Moody's History of Florida class was my favorite class taken yet. I made all A's this semester with the exception of the B I made in here. I have taken 3 courses with professor Moody. All the classes have been very similar. Your grade is based on 4 assignments, 3 tests and an essay. If you study hard for the tests you will pass them no problem. The essay is a book review which is also straight forward. If you don't like a lot of stupid busy work this is the class for you. I took professor Moody fall 2017 class can be tough you only get four grades 3 test and 1500 paper crazy notes. You never know what will be on the test so study everything for the test we would have to read a book or two and answer some sort questions about them. I passed with a B the 1500 word paper saved my life.

Moody is a great teacher who won't give you an A unless you've earned it. I received a B in all of his classes and that is because I didn't read the books he assigns, which will be used as essay questions on the tests. I did have to study, I did have to put in the work, his class is difficult but rewarding. Not to mention he actually teaches you.

Professor Moody is cool, had no problems with him. But do not be late to class, he would close the door on you, other than that, you would have no problem passing his class. I had 3 required books to purchase for class and a history book of our choice with that makes 4 books total. For those books, we had to write summary essays.

Professor Moody is very passionate about the topic "History of Florida" and has a strict policy about class attendance, you should not be late try and arrive 15 mins before class. read the book and take notes in class.I did not pass his class however I would advice that if you choose him you should take advantage of his office hours.

Dr. Moody is a great history professor. He knows what he is teaching and he enjoys teaching history. There is no homework for the class, only a midterm, a 1500 word essay, and a final exam. I did well on the mid term and the 1500 word essay. But the final exam was difficult. I studied a lot for that exam, but it dropped my grade from a B to C.

Professor Moody was one of my favorite Professors! He taught the material well & it was clear he knew what he was talking about and enjoyed teaching it. Very clear on instructions for assignments, and sticks to the syllabus. Only 3 grades in this class, but hes a great teacher so you shouldnt be too worried!

I have never enjoyed a history class before Professor Moody. He gives the best lectures and makes history a story rather than just facts, dates, and people. I enjoyed his class so much, I am currently taking another class of his as an elective. 3 grades in total, but as long as you listen, take notes, and review them before the tests, you'll pass.

He is VERY strict on punctuality, so be in class early! There's only 5 grades in the whole class: 3 precis papers and 2 tests. His PPT lectures are all images with one to three words per slide on average and the rest is him speaking. You have to be attentive to his lectures-and take detailed notes-while he's speaking otherwise you won't do well.

Don't let other comments fool you, he is a really good professor he's just not what most people are used to from highschool teachers or other professors. He's very clear on what the class will be like on the first day. If you enjoy history and are willing to put in a few hours studying, you will pass. I honestly really enjoyed his lectures.

He was one of my best professors ever. His lectures are amazing, so get ready to learn, and of course, if you want to do good in his class is really important to be there. There is no homework, just two test and one paper about Cold War. He can be challenging but if you are willing to put some effort you should not have problems.

I really like Dr. Moody as a professor. He is makes the course material very interesting and teaches beyond just the course objectives. I really enjoyed his lectures. However, the class contains 3 equally weighted exams and thats it for grades. The exams have no multiple choice either and are a lot of memorization which made the class so hard.
