He is awesome. If you take it during the summer he only makes you stay about half the time. If you even study a little you can get an A. He is the funniest guy!!!

Very cool teacher with lots of knowledge. Funny with lots of stories. One of the classes i actually enjoyed.

Dr. West is a plethora of knowledge due to his many life experiences. The class time goes by fast. The questions he gives you to study ARE THE TEST...and in the same order!

Loved West. He is an amazing person who truly is amazing at what he does. Very informative and dedicated to teaching.

4 tests and no homework = Great teacher

Dr. West rocks the house like no other. He's had the most amazing life and its so incredibly generous of him to allow his students to be a part of it. READ HIS BOOK WHEN IT COMES OUT!! IT'LL BE GREAT

He is the coolest teacher and you will easily pass his class if you barely try. My friends took him in Sociology and said that he was easy too. This guy is way layed back. Take him befoe he retires!!

THE EASIEST A IVE EVER GOTTEN.. if you dont get an A in this class then theres something wrong with you.. i think summer classes made it a lot easier(he gave us every Q on the text the day b4). his book is boring but you need to buy it.. really smart guy... probably one of the most dedicated teachers ive ever had. he loves his job/passionate guy

Dr. West is a really intelligent man. His class is boring but he is inspiring. He has been through more than anyone could imagine. He deserves a lot of respect. His test are easy, he gives you the study questions the class before the test. If you study over the study questions it should be an easy A. No essays. No Quizzes.

Wow, I never knew a class could be so easy. He only gives you ONE assignment which is a 10pg paper or oral, your choice. The rest of the grade is a few tests which HE GIVES YOU THE QUESTIONS TO. If you got anything less than a B in that class, you're just plain stupid, I'm sorry. I only showed up for reviews and tests. Easy Easy A.

Don't listen to the people below me, they probably have down syndrome. HE GIVES YOU THE TEST QUESTIONS, HOW CAN YOU NOT THINK THE CLASS IS EASY?!? I got the highest & second highest test score on 2/3 tests only studying for about 1-2 hrs making flashcards, yet the class mean of 60+ students was about a 70, I dont understand whatsoever.

Just look up the answers in the textbook, make flashcards, and study them once or twice and there is no way you can get anything lower than a B on tes

This class is really easy...Prof. West gives you all the question that will be on the exam and all you have to do is find the answers...you have to buy his book because you talk about it a lot...the only thing that sucks is that you have to write a 10 page term paper at the end of the semester other than that he is chill

The class is fairly easy. No homework. Put some effort into the tests and term paper and show up to class and at least a B is yours. Very nice, funny, and especially wise. okay, here's the deal with this class. 10 page paper due on the last day, you have 3 months to do it. most days there is no work, just go to class relax and listen to him talk. 2 days before test, gives all the questions in order, takes 3 hours to find answers and tedious work. easy B or A. you have to be lazy to get a D or F in this class.

I can vouch for that last comment. Class is laid back. You have to try to get less than an A. Anyone whining about how boring the class is etc is rediculous. The class could be A LOT worse. Take this class (esp Honors), show up 3/4 of the time, at least fake effort, get an A. You can tell he wants to give everyone an A.

Interesting class. Tests are easy. One research paper due at the end of semester. Dr. West likes to banter with his students and likes to have discussions on topical subjects. I enjoyed this class. Apply yourself and the A will come

Dr. Wests' classes are some of the best I've taken at SCC. I don't know why people think that you have to share his political views to pass, if you don't just grow a sack and be prepared to defend your position. Fun class, no actual work, and he gives all the test questions the day before.

THIS CLASS IS NOT AS EASY AS EVERYONE SAYS JUST BECAUSE HE GIVES US ALL THE TEST QUESTIONS IN ORDER. FINDING THE ANSWERS FROM THE BOOK IS EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING. EASY TO GET A "B" THOUGH

he's a nice guy. there's a term paper at the end of the semester (10 pages), four tests. i don't recommend taking the 7am class (i couldn't stay awake). if you want to learn about sociology, take him. if you don't give a****, don't take hime cause you'll think he'll be as boring as hell to you.

SUPER EASY. I didnt go to a lot of classes and still got an A. Day before the tests are mandatory and really helpful. Would take his class again

EASIEST class of all time. i took soc 100h last semester and anth100 over the summer. take honors if you can, because it's easier. his honors class exams are essay (but even if you make up a lot of bs, he'll still give you an A). honors and regular classes are pretty much guaranteed A's so might as well take honors. hella boring class though.

He is a great teacher. Good discussions during class. He reviews before every test&GIVES YOU THE ANSWERS. There is no reason you shouldn't get an A on every test! Very sweet man, you can tell he truly loves to teach. &as for his "$40" autobio; I bought my copy used on E-bay for $15. so obviously, there are ways around it; the jokes on that student.

Good teacher. Gives multiple opportunities for extra credit. Does great review for every test. Just read before class and interact during class and it's a breeze.

I took the relationship class and as long as u go to the review u will get an A. He gives u every Single question that will be on the test all u need to do it find the answers and ur solid. He loves what he is talking about. He has had a rough life so he can get into things

Great teacher. I had him for a 7:00 AM class, and his voice is very calming and quiet, so it was hard to pay attention at times. For an honors class it really wasn't too strenuous. The tests were essays, but he seems to be pretty lenient in grading them. 1 term group project. Overall, I had a good experience in his glass and I recommend him.

So easy. Take this class if you are just trying to fill in space. I got an A and hardly read. Really cool guy. The class before the test he practically gives you the questions. Take it- it's an easy A

Don't learn anything, has repressed anger inside of him due to past life. Favors smart people even though he disguise it in a professional manner. Overall, very boring and a waste of time. Look somewhere else if you want to learn.

HIS CLASS IS A GIFT. You only have to read the chapter that you do a presentation on and the term project is a group powerpoint. He practically gives you the essay prompts the class before the test. He is a really easy grader, too. Just speak up a few times and you'll get an A. I definitely recommend his honors class.

Professor West is a great teacher, His class was pretty easy. All you had to do was a 10 page paper and do his study guides. His tests were all based off the study guide pretty much in numerical order. He is also a nice guy

He is the sweetest man. I took him for Anth 100H and Soc 100H. You only need to read the section you present on and he gives you what will be on your test the class period before. He adds so much to the class with his stories; you really learn a lot.

I really enjoyed this class. He kinda makes it into a self study class, but he lectures about all the important things in the book and shows videos relating to nearly all the topics. His biography is also a really interesting read (he grew up in the south during 1940s) and it's almost worth the $40 (plus i think u can check it out at the library)!

His test are normally 2 freewrites. And he gives you both prompts before every test. You have 2 presentations that are CAKE. and final take-home paper was pretty easy too.Have to be prepared for the tests though/ studied about 45 min for each test and got As on all of them.

Dr West is amazing! He is so kind and so very interesting! He makes sure that you are clear on what will be on the test so if you follow the study guide and actually study you will have no problem. I got all A's. I loved his biography and learned so much about what it was really like back then. I would highly recommend taking Dr. West's class!

Dr. West is very wise and has a kind heart. I highly recommend taking as many classes with him as possible. Easy A! Tests are essays only (either 1 or 2 questions) but he gives you the prompt beforehand and grades them VERY generously. Seriously a great experience to learn from this man.

Dr. West is definitely the easiest teacher I've had at SCC. His class is boring at times, but you need to show up because he takes off points if you miss a lot of classes. But his tests are extremely easy and he gives you the prompts the night before. And the big project is nothing. You get an A as long as you have sources.

Dr. West is so nice! There is lots of reading from 2 novels. Tests are easy because he gives you all the questions in the review the class before. The research paper isn't too bad either as long as it's formatted right! You have to present at least once, but it's super easy! Easy A, fun class!

Class was more aimed at being student led, with West assigning reading that students then had to present in class (pretty plain and simple). With group discussions. More towards the end of the semester there was a group project presentation along with a synthesis paper. Tests were free response and in blue books, he gives you prompts beforehand.
