This professor certainly loves what he does for a living. He is not a paycheck professor who is punching a clock. Williams is out to help you cultivate a love of being a life-long learner as well as a first-rate student of history. Brookhaven College is fortunate to have him.

I really like this professor he is clear about what he wants done he helps you and answers all your questions he keeps the class interesting he cares for students learning and wants what ever benefits the students he's also real cool and chill you just have to show up to class that is real important to him definitely taking him again this summer :)

His goal is to ignite critically thinking, reading and writing in students. Very helpful man. If you try your hardest and show dedication to his class you will succeed! History is not my top subject, but Professor Williams made History fun and easy. Attending his class was not boring and he did NOT stand in front of the class reading off a Power Point all class, he is very knowledgeable about the subject. He takes the time to help every student that asks for help.

Professor Williams lets you know the first day that he expects you to become a critical thinker, writer, and reader as the semester unfolds. He uses history as a tool to do so. Gives great feedback and encourages you throughout. Do the work and show up and you will pass his course.

Amazing history teacher, that encourages critical thinking, hard work, and questions. He really gets you thinking, and as for the work you just have to show up consistently to class, keep up with quizzes, and get major papers done on time and that is all it takes to make the A.

Fantastic professor. He places great emphasis on students truly learning and understanding the material rather than just assigning work for a grade. Professor Williams is about mastering the process of learning and using history to do so. His grading if fair and the assignments are meaningful. He prides himself in not going through the motions.

History class not your thing? Take this class. To date, Professor Williams is one of my favorite teachers. He's a teacher who loves what he does & it shows through his teaching. His lectures are very interesting! I would definitely take another course of his. He's open & honest, he makes himself available including tutoring.

Took this professor based on the reviews - got to class and was just what was mentioned. He's enthusiastic about history, and well your education in general. He wants you to pass, and will do everything in his power so you can. It's not a free grade by any means, but he really will go the extra mile unlike other professors.

Took Williams for History 1301 and 1302. Best professor I've ever had. I missed a quiz because my computer crashed that night and he was super understanding about it. He likes to throw in stories into his lectures to make them entertaining. History bores me to death, but I have never once fell asleep in his class.

If you need credit for history TAKE WILLIAMS. He's one of the most caring and genuine professors at Brookhaven and he does what he can to ensure you get the grade you want. He keeps the class interesting and is honestly so charming & funny. You'll easily get an A if you do the work which isn't hard. You won't regret taking his class I promise.

I would most definitely take Professor Williams again! He was genuinely the best professor I have taken. He truly cares about his students and is always working with his students if you fall behind on a quiz he will work with you and take the grade (not as a late grade). Only 2 major exams which are mainly from the quizzes. Very easy A!

I had Professor Williams for both History 1301 & 1302. I really enjoyed his class! For books, hold on till he tells you if they'll be required or not. He offers alot of extra credit assignments. Attendance is graded. There is a quiz each week, a mid-term, a major essay assignment, and a final. As long as you do all the above you can pass his class.

If i could put more than three great tags i totally would. He is so passionate about teaching and really cares that you learn. I would take his class again in a heart beat. HE IS AWESOME!

There is a quiz every Tuesday over the chapter the week before. Every week you read one chapter and take notes in class during lecture and then over the book and the quiz will be easy. Makes class interesting and we also get out of class early almost every time.

JP Williams is just a gem. I took him for 1301 and passed with an A and now I passed his 1302 class with an A. If you do all the work that you're suppose to and take notes and pass the quizzed & tests, it's a pretty easy A and simple class. He's very laid back and really nice guy. Professor Williams takes care of his students. He is very intentional towards his students , in the way he gives lecture , in the way he quizzes and the way he tests. Every lecture is very entertaining, with the slides, movie clips or his very unique way of teaching. He has made the experience of learning History rather pleasant .

Open notebook quiz every Tuesday over last week's chapter and lecture and then and online mid term and final. You have a document analysis at the EOY but you have plenty of time to do it!

I took the PM classes, he spoke on how he respected that we had full-time jobs and went to school at the same time and commended us for that. We respected him and enjoyed his life stories he had to tell us. If I could id take every class he teaches every semester. Not an easy A, you have to work for it but he also sets you up for success.

Prof. Williams makes learning easier by keeping all the learning content very organized and easily accessible, the course contains a lot of reading but as long as you read and do your work its a guaranteed pass. Another thing to mention is that Prof. William is also very good at responding to students he will respond to your emails very promtly.

I have always despised history classes as I find them extremely boring, however, I would take Mr. William's class any day! You need to take his class in person, his lectures make lessons easy to understand and relatable to today's issues. He has such an engaging personality, I was never bored and always looked forward to coming to his class.

I took his class during the summer. The class went very fast but he did a really good job at explaining things and not once was I confused over the material. There will be discussion boards and essays over videos and quizzes due every week as well as the tests but he is a very easy grader. Just do your work and you'll get an A.

Prof Williams is very organized. His lecture notes make the course even easier to follow, but it's history, so tons of reading. I would've preferred to have him for a full semester instead of summer, but he makes it almost impossible to fail either way. He's responsive outside of class and he gives good feedback to every submission.

His lectures are super entertaining and short enough that they stayed interesting the whole time. He's obviously very dedicated and passionate about his job and is super accessible outside of class. I hope I get to take another one of his classes.

Lectures are easy to follow and the readings from the textbooks are lengthy but readable. Doesn't make attendance feel like a chore, look forward to them.

He is very polite and understands your concern. If your late or cannot complete on time he will help for sure. Very flexible. He uploads extra credit for good grades.

I took Professor Williams class for a 5-week summer class (in-person) and it was a great experience! He is a professor who really enjoys what he is teaching and is able to cover multiple topics in one lecture. His grading is very fair, and he will give you grace on late assignments. The assignments aren't that difficult as well.
