This guy is awesome! I had him for ENG 112 and HUM 256. Very easy to follow and willing to help out however he can to get you an A. If willing to listen and get help, very easy A!!!!

Excellent teacher, very clear, doesn't keep us too long in class. Has 10 assignments each worth ten points, no homework and doesn't require a textbook! I would definately recommend him.

Reminds me of Peter Jackson... lol. But seems very cool and keeps the subject interesting. I've had one day of class with him and he already had me laughing at his jokes.

He is a great teacher. If you do your papers and take your tests then you are fine. Is tests are not hard at all, he goes over everthing before a test. You are never in class and get used to seeing a note on the door that class has been canceled. Real nice guy and doen't assign homework. Show up for class and write you papers you will get an A

Awesome instructor. Took 112 over the summer and my time with him went way too fast, wish the class could have lasted longer. Yes, he is that good. He tells you what he wants, you give him what he wants and your grade will reflect it. I love his grading point sys and the fact that he does not grade on a curve. I earned the grade that I received.

his test and assignments are easy and he always has rough draft days before papers are due!!

mr williams is the coolest teacher ive ever had! he was probably the easiest too, very slack, very laid back, and gives you an A even if your paper sucks! take him if you want an A, not if you really want to get anything out of the class!

Mr. Williams is a great teacher. I hate English, but enjoyed going to his class b/c you always learned something. He would actually teach you material not just assign a bunch of papers that were meaningless.

Pretty nice. Easy and reasonably short papers. Tests will make you think and can be challenging, but not hard if you pay attention in class.

I just can't thank Prof. Williams enough for that kidney! He saved my life, and I'm naming my first born after him.

Prof Williams actually teaches you about literature. It was nice to really LEARN yet he wasn't too demanding. Didn't use any textbook. Definitely recommend him to anyone who would like more than an "easy A" (because we are at school to learn, right?)

I love this guy! I love the way he teaches. He tells you everything what he wants on a paper and how he wants and thats it. He gets straight to the point. I didnt come to class alot but I still manage an A. Just always get your paper on time. And you will be fine. Take him hes good! =D

Very easy, gives you what you need. Learn alot but no home work and no tests. Field trip was nice. 2 papers and 1 trip to his office and I got an A. Taking him for eng 112 next!

Wow...this guy knows EVERYTHING...he tells mythology stories and never looks at a book, he just remembers it all...I couldn't believe he was actually able to call up Hades from the underworld to come and talk to us...amazing...

This has got to be the easiest english class I've ever taken! 4 take home essays and an in-class essay for the final. Doesn't use book! He's clear about what he expects and only really asks that you do your best. If you make the corrections that he tells you to (if any), you'll get an 'A' on everything! I would definitely recommend this professor!

Super chilled guy. You'll learn in his english class instead of just writing. He tells you exactly what he wants on the papers. The only thing that sucked, was that he uses the va beach public schools grading scale. 86-93 = B, 94-100 = A.. i topped a little above 90% and got a B

Also teaches mythology, he doesn't teach eng/myth in the traditional sense that most students are used to. he has a story for everything which can take up lots of time. no real outline for class. hardly if any homework. NOT boring but sometimes subj can run very dry. doesn't grade anything on time. YOU WILL PASS THIS CLASS but probably be bored...

Mr. Williams is a very chill instructor, but don't expect to get your graded papers back in a timely manner. He thinks outside the box, which was interesting, and always there for feedback. Attendance is not mandatory. Overall his class is extremely easy. The only way to fail is to not do any of the work.

He makes the class interesting with the different type of myth stories that he tells you. I thought he was a great teacher in this, learned alot about different things in the mythology world. Would highly recommend him to anyone. Can't wait to take him again in his next class.

Great teacher, is always around and willing to answer all your questions. He is a really helpful and nice guy. Class is really relaxed and open, with a lot of open conversation with class mates. I would defiantly take a class from him again.

His class was so easy! No attendance required. You can turn essays in late just as long as they are turned in before the end of the semester. I took him during the summer.

Out of all the professors I've taken, he's the chillest without being too easy. Very clear in his lectures and expectations. An A is NOT hard to get in his classes, and you walk away actually LEARNING something and not just MEMORIZING it.

Easy A. I am so glad I didn't take any other teacher. If you want a fun class, with a person who is very easy going take him. You will not regret taking him.

Mr. Williams is awesome ..It was my first time taking Mythology and I passed it with an A+ ..We are given 2 tests , 2 essays , and a final . All the test are open book and for my class final we played a trivia game which was pretty cool .

TAKE HIM! He's really awesome. His class is easy NOT because he has low expectations, but because he teaches outside the box and it's so easy to write the essays because you're given so much to think about and it's enjoyable. GREAT instructor. Great topics. Provides tons of help if needed. Flexible and chill. BEST OF ALL: NO TEXTBOOK! SAVES $$!

Mr. Williams was a joy. No TestAll that was required is to write a few essays. Then you get a conference with him, he looks over it and make corrections. You correct the paper and hand it in. You will probably watch a couple of movies. Take this professor he is so cool

Mr. Williams is an AWESOME teacher! He breaks everything down to basics &gets rid of all the junk we won't need. You have plenty of time, clarification &guidance for each essay. He also encourages class discussion, which really helps when writing. This was the first english class that had essay topics I was actually interested in writing about.

Great professor! Very easy class. Impossible to fail. Have about 5 essays through the semester that all total up to be one grade. Explains exactly what he expects in the essay & is very thorough. Have taken him for Eng 111 & 112 and would definitely recommend him!!

Fun, lenient, and straightforward professor! He does not require any books. He usually uses online materials like videos, movies, stories, and articles. He only requires 4-5 essays for the whole course, that is all! He provides the topics, format, and do conferences for editing. Any student will surely love him in fact I took him again for ENG 112.

I loved his class, writers and people who take it seriously will get an A.

Mr. Williams was a kick butt teacher ! He came in after our first professor had got a new job somewhere else and he was very open and welcoming . Helps you tons if you need it , give great suggestions , very intelligent ! Only downside was he doesn't really reply to email but he was still an awesome teacher ! I would definitely have him again !

Mythology with Prof Williams was interesting and fun. We watched some mythology movies & even went on a field trip to the art museum! His lectures give all the information you need to pass the exams, which are open notebook. The exam format was 20 or so short answer questions & 1 long essay on 1 of 5 topics. There were 2 easy research papers.

Love his class! He knows and loves English. He helps you with your essay & gives you ideas to make it better. If you put forth effort you will do well in his class.

I loved his class! The lectures are interesting, there are only two tests and two essays the whole semester, and he always offers help. He does require a textbook, but it's only around four dollars. Just show up, take notes, ask questions, and you'll do great.

Professor Williams was awesome. He's very laid back with lots of witty input. breaks down everything you need on each test, then lets you use the notes you took. So take clear notes and you are setting yourself up for a solid A. He's willing to give feedback on ALL papers before they are due. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed his english lit class and I'm and engineering major. Gives plenty of time to write papers and exams (3 of each) and offers one on one revising before the due date. You can tell that he really enjoys the material he teaches and knows tons about it. He supplies all the reading material so no need to buy a book. Definitely recommend.

Entertaining Professor! He is brilliant and engaging! He only graded the papers you write (4-5 depending on timeline). Gives plenty of days for drafting and library time. Conference days to review your paper before you turned it in. Easy A.

No book, all online reading assignments (varying lengths). The class lets out early frequently, very relaxed atmosphere, William's is a walking encyclopedia of literary knowledge.

Mr. Williams is great. He required 5 argumentative essays this semester, but gave students plenty of time to do them. He hates the internet, so don't bother emailing him. However, he is available in his office for "conferences," to check your rough drafts. Conferences several days long, at certain hours NO CLASS.

Seriously the coolest professor ever. You don't even have class half of the time. We wrote 4 papers. He would assign a paper and give you the next class to write your rough draft. The we would peer edit our rough drafts. Then you would have the next to classes off to write your final. He reads everyone's paper before you submit and gives correction

Had him for mythology and Eng 112 and he is great and simple and funny.

Easy A, the essay topics are less personal, requires thinking. But very interesting topics to write about. Watch a few documentary, write a few easy essays and you will pass. When you do revising for essays he lets you pick which day you want to come in for conference. You get a couple days off thru the semester to chillax!

Great teacher, absolutely take him. Funny & informative. When he gives you a day off to bring in rough drafts, do it. He'll tell you what to fix to get an A and sometimes accept the paper at that time if it's mostly error-free. Lets you take home tests. No matter the class, you will write papers. Don't bother trying to email. No Blackboard.

Extremely laid back and nice. Hes a suuuuper chill guy, the class is an easy A. We dont do much in class. The only graded assignment are 5 essays, which he revises with you one on one before they are officially turned in so that you can make corrections and get 100. Essay topics are interesting and offer a lot of flexibility to make it your own.

This class is an easy A. Only 4 papers 2 based on documentaries. You are barely in the classroom. He tells you what you need to fix in your paper during conferences to get an A. Takes a bit to grade though and doesn't use blackboard or email which kind of sucked.

If you struggle with English then he is the teacher for you. We did write essays but they didn't feel overwhelming and he gives you topics until the last essay.

Clearly knows his stuff and loves storytelling across all media. Great sense of humor, a little unorthodox. The course is split into three sections: fiction, poetry, and drama. You'll have a few lectures, write an essay for each section, and then take the three corresponding exams.

Great approachable professor and easy lecture class, he shows you what you need to know. If you do well on the 3 exams and (2-3) essays it's an easy A.

Mr. Williams is the man! I took him for ENG 111 and 112 and thoroughly enjoyed his classes. 4-5 papers throughout the semester, all in which you can meet with him before turning them in for a final grade for editing and notes. I tell all my peers to take his class if they can because he's doing it right!

EASY A and SUPER chill professor. The only graded work you have is the 4-5 essays. The amount of time you spend in the classroom is probably less than what you spend outside the classroom. No book required. You come up with an essay topic based around a documentary you watch in class. He reviews them before you submit them so you can improve them.

Most teachers spend an entire class lecturing about the subject. Whereas he spent half the class lecturing and the other half talking with students and gathering opinions. Ive never had a teacher that cared too much about what students thought but he likes to hear your opinions and it makes the class very comforting. I would highly recommend.

BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR!!! Seriously this was the easiest class I ever took. I think we wrote 4 papers total and that was it for the entire class. No textbook required and no boring topics!! He is very lenient. He will proof your paper and grade it and give you the chance to change it for a better grade. Theres no way to fail this class.

Best professor I have ever had hands down. Will grade your paper before it is due if it is in correct format, and can make adjustments for a higher grade. He is extremely reasonable and not at all overcomplicating or overworking students just for the sake of it. CHOOSE HIM IF HIS CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE! Wish I had him for 111 last semester

Professor is funny and caring, provides good feedback on papers, doesnt require specific topics and allows creativity in the classroom, makes learning fun and easy to understand, grading criteria isnt too heavy

He give a lot of room to make sure you get your assignment in as long as you communicate. He's super easy going. Talk his class if you want a great teacher and an easy A !

Professor Williams was my first ever college professor and I am so happy for it. He is a great teacher and is passionate and knowledgeable about his lectures. Great personality, easy A if you apply yourself. Definitely would take him again.

Pressor Williams is straight to the point. Very easy to understand what his purpose is and doesn't go crazy writing. I enjoyed his class and great interaction is required with classmates which makes it fun.

Professor Williams was very nice. He talked slowly in lectures and gave good information about everything we read in the class. He was very accessible and easy to reach when I had questions. If you have questions, ASK HIM! Don't be shy to speak up in class, talk to him after class, or send him an email.

His classes were always enjoyable & he picked interesting topics for us to write about. Gave us plenty of time to complete assignments & many opportunities to get one-on-one help from him. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a syllabus and I wasn't ever 100% on what he expected from my essays, but he's not a tough grader, so it worked out.

Only had 4 assignments for the whole class, with none of them taking more than a couple of hours each. Very easy class to take with interesting lectures.

Though attendance is not mandatory, if you don't go to the zoom you will have no idea how to do his papers. Be sure to watch the videos he posts and attend class. He is a very chill guy so he is accepting of any questions or issues you may have. A great choice for the required english credit.

Professor Williams is AWESOME!!!! I took him in the spring of 2023 for English. One essay per month for a total of 5 essays. He will gladly go over your essay with you allow you to fix the mistakes, and then you can submit. I recommend taking him if you have a large class load or if you want an easy English course.

This class was honestly TOO easy. He was very kind and respectful to students and he taught us well, but he was very lax on at least my grade. I think he spent more energy on those who were struggling more.

He is a great teacher and the only assignments you will have is essay and exam at the end of every unit and gives you a class off to do it. He is so chill and it's an ideal class to take.

Pretty easy class to pass. Four essays that are all pretty straight forward, conferences help with making sure you get a good grade on your essays. Always enjoyed listening to what Mr. Williams had to say and don't be afraid to ask questions as he is an approachable guy. I had a hard time reaching him outside of designated times though.

Literally the easiest professor I have ever taken. He always looks out for his students too. Basically a snoozer class.

John Williams taught quite literally the easiest class I have ever taken in my entire life, not because of the nature of the class, but rather his approach and the exams as well as papers he assigns; the exams are online and quite easy to complete, and the papers he assigns are open-ended to an extent and allow you to write about anything you like.
