Dr. Wu is fun and the class is informative. BUT his tests will make you crazy. He makes things more difficult than they need to be and his tests are intentionally tricky. You will spend ALOT of time trying to figure out what he really wants you to know and still be frustrated. The pop quizzes suck. WATCH OUT!
He is good teacher. The lectures are pointless mostt of the time. He uses a lot of multimedia and youtube movies. As far as grading he curves good. It is easy class and you can learn useful stuff.
Great teacher. Interesting lectures. Fun and funny. Cares about his students. Go to class! Listen! Take Notes! Participate! You can get an A.
Great professor, clearly knows his stuff. Fun interesting topics. You will be glad to have taken his class before stepping out in the real world.
This guy is useless. He quizzes you on stuff that he doesn't even lecture on or give powerpoints on. If you can take another professor then please do so!
Dr. Wu must be leaving the positive comments on this site. He is one of the worst teachers I've had. Lectures, powerpoints, etc. are irrelevent since he quizzes you on other topics. He says in the end it doesn't matter because he grades on a curve so if everyone fails then you can still get an A in the class. So basically he doesnt care if you learn
Dr. Wu, needs to curve more on his exams and quizes, they are hard that not even with a curve its enough. Those pop the worst of hell ! hated so bad, didnt go with his lectures the pop quizes
Be prepared to speak a lot, otherwise try working hard on the all quizzes and exams (although he quizzes you something that you seldom learn in his lecture) 'cause he will give you a very low grade on your participation if you never speak.
I am dying in this class.he been gone 2 wks then expects the same amount of matrial 2 be learn.his quizes & Exams are so hard and random.....I am A student and i am getting 50% avg on his online & pop quizes.Unless you want get depress about ur grades then take him. Cuz he will depresss you by scores you get! He is Funny, but dat helps u a little
Every bad posting is true, his lectures will not help you out as far as the quizes he gives out which are worth a lot of points. He's a very hard grader. My advise to you is to take someone else if you want to get a good grade, or participate everytime you can and pray for mercy!!!
Wow I cant believe Dr. Wu got so many haters! I enjoyed his class. Took us on a field trip to Pep Boys warehouse for 20 points EC. He lets you contact him on Twitter. If a Kung-Fu master combined with a business mogul...you will have Dr. Wu.
Dr. Wu makes his lectures very interesting. Time goes by fast and you learn a lot! I never studied outside of class and still got an A because his lectures are entertaining and fun.
He would not be a bad teacher if he was more organized. His grading is harsh, it does not reflect actual knowledge. Pop quizzes and unclear online quizzes. The worst part is the attendance grade. I went to every class and received 5 points out of 50. So I was penalized for listening and not talking? That is how I learn and understand...
The quizzes are not good, BUT he takes the two worst out, also takes out 1 pop quiz, the final is not hard if you paid any attention and he curves RIDICULOUSLY! It seems like u are going to fail but u definitely don't you have to constantly be on your grade though. His class is enjoyable and you learn through examples and stories GREAT!
Took this teacher summer 2012. He's kind of Boring but tries to make class fun and if you want an A take him. His grading is based on online quizzes, 1 pop quiz, group project, participation, and final. Need book for quizzes and final based on all 4 quizzes. He curves final grade too. If you want an easy A take him!
I throughly enjoyed Dr. Wu’s class. If you pay attention and participate in class you will be fine. If you need help contact him and get to know him so he remembers your name. Overall he is a wonderful professor and keeps your interest with all his real life examples/stories. Class is straight forward.
inconsistent grader. one question pop quiz that will destroy your grade if you get it wrong. curves grades like crazy , which is good but I didn't learn much.like another person said, you think youre going to fail but the curved grade saves you. Very stressful
Really enjoyed this class. Fun professor.Half the time we didnt meet. Make sure to do the discussions early or you will get a lower grade. One pop quiz worth A LOT but more than likely it will be a term from the powerpoint. Easy overall.
He makes you take a quiz every week that are online but the questions are written by him so they aren't always clear. A big part of your grade is a video project and the final is based on the quizzes.
There are online quizzes almost every week & they are tough. Luckily he drops 2 out of 7 quizzes. The final questions are EXACTLY the same as the weekly quizzes. I suggest saving the quiz questions from every quiz. The review for the final will be super fast, but if you have the questions already you just have to write down the answer.
Worse learning experience I have ever had at any college.
This is the most stressful class I have ever taken at CSUSB! Must speak every class or you lose 50 points. You have to pass hard online quizzes and answers not in book or lecture and a random pop quiz is 40 points bomb it and your out of the A or B range period. Non stop work Wu is horrible teacher he admits he isn't there to teach students AVOID
This guy is ridiculous. I understand it's an online class and we must put the work in, but quizzes are insanely hard, the questions might as well be riddles, and discussions are graded unusually harsh. I've only experienced one other professor here at CSUSB like this one. They get their joy by messing with students. AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE!
the worst professor i have taken with so far ... this professor is hard ,.. if you concern about your GPA .. don't take it with him ... Doesn't care about students .. even if you email him .. he will respond after two or three days .. 2 discussion and 1 online quiz and group project ,, he gives low grades ..
Worst experience i have had during my study ,,,, I am dying in this class .. i do my best and give me bad grades .. AVOID HIM
worst experience >> AVOID
Hardest class I have ever taken at cal state the quizzes are so hard. Almost everyone I have talked to is failing, horrible teacher. Doesn't care about his students at all. AVOID at all costs.
AVOID! Never responds to emails when you are in need of help. Had to beg for a grade to pass even though all work was turned in. Accused me of not doing work although it was submitted on BB Take someone else at all costs!
You post weekly online, and have weekly quizzes and have a group project consisting of 3 parts. Grades ridicolously hard on the weekly postings. The quizzes are so hard its dumb, they have NOTHING to do with the book. However does curve the class so all can hopefully pass. Be prepared for a response if you email him, DAYS later.
Worst Professor At the Uni .. AVOID HIM .
One of the worst professors I have had. He teaches "Supply Chain Management", which is a class that teaches how to be both effective and efficient. He is neither. His instructions for projects are so vague, no one knows what to do, and his participation is bull. I'm an accounting major, and I prefer my hardest accounting class over this guy. Avoid!
i loved his lectures, he's funny and a good man. discussion questions = easy. quizzes = hard(work with others). group project= EASY, expects presentations to be short & simple. what makes him "hard": he's STRICT about deadlines and does not tolerate last minute work. submit everything a DAY/DAYS before deadline and you'll okay!
Extremely picky & hard grader for group project, even when its well-done. When asking for clarification, he says its "okay" then marks you down for it. Says 1 thing, than another. Quizzes online are his made-up HARD questions. Same w/ the final, especially video-related questions. U only get attendance if u get a stamp for speaking up that day.
He is very funny and participation is mandatory.
I had great experience with Wu. His lectures were funny yet insightful. You read the syllabus, follow his rules and everything is fine.
Dr. Wu is a great professor. He is very knowledgable and I learned a lot in this class! There is a test, online discussions, and a big group project. He is a tough grader, but an A is possible!
Professor Wu's class meets half the time. You MUST participate so I suggest start from day 1. Have your "stamp sheet" ready on first day! Answer discussion questions as soon as possible. He's a pretty funny guy, Online quizzesdiscussionsvideos Presentation isn't difficult. Don't make it hard, you have a time limit (5min.) to present anyway.
This class is a nightmare, expect to do way more work than any other 4 unit class. Seriously, your journal will never get a good grade no matter what you do; he doesn't even follow his own rubric. He does emails, but never answers my questions directly. Only 3 meetings a quarter, which is ridiculous. Would never take again, avoid at all costs
This is a teach yourself class. Granted it is not extremely difficult but if you want to learn don't take it. You have a group project and he isn't clear about the guidelines so make sure you read it yourself. Basically you need to read and learn everything by yourself. There is a pop quiz and 1 final. The final is based on everything. Unrealistic!
Tough grader... be ready to write journals every day. Also, make sure your group video is exactly half of your rough cut or he'll knock off 10 points even if the rest of the video is perfect. Lectures are interesting, but don't bother trying to get feedback on much. He's not specific and gives short answers... you will wonder if he's even listening
He is a great Professor. YES he is a tough grader. I had taken him a couple of times and would take him again and again. You really do not do as much work but you learn a lot. you do have to do group project but they are piece of cake, they do have a lot of work but you will enjoy it. Overall he is an awesome professor.
Mr. Wu is a joke, and no students are laughing. Be prepared to learn on your own. Also, do not expect him to answer emails very quickly. It takes a week to get an email back, and his replies tend to be 1 or 2 words. His course information is scattered everywhere, and sits in a big cloud of ambiguity. He doesn't explain anything well.
DONT TAKE HIM. have to do journal every week, and 750+ words for each. And group project every week, also a lot of stuffs to read and watch, then discuss with your teammates. Online quizzes+2 written exams, he skips one day class, so you only have class once a week. And you need to talk for 4 stamps, otherwise you get 0 participation points at all
Assignments and expectations are not clear. I had to guess what he wanted on most of the assignments. Does not respond to questions in a timely manner. Very unorganized. Assignments include weekly journal entries of 750+ words, weekly group work, quizzes, midterm, and final. Don't expect feedback on any journal entries. Mostly busy work.
Not sure if you can call this guy a professor as much as a dictator. Doesn't teach. Gives broad expectations and than grades poorly if you didn't read his mind well enough. Take Dyke. Better professor whom you will actually enjoy learning from. Wu is terrible. Why pay money for such a pathetic class
Participate, have a good group, do your journals every single week, and be on top of it. Still would not retake him. Tough grader and very serious and will put you on the spot.
His lectures are everywhere! Poor organization. Did not learn a thing. Syllabus was useless.. schedules/due dates were very hard to follow. Would not take him again... I had no choice as SCM classes are not available every quarter. Take someone else if you can!
HOW TO PASS: 1) Group Blog: Find a LEGIT Group that COMMUNICATES 2) Group Blog: Type your answers (DO NOT PASTE from previously prep'd answers) 3) Group Blog: Put replies within minutes or he'll dock points 4) Don't miss any weekly quizzes 5) Watch all the videos. (Pop quiz will include one) 6) Take screenshots of blog submissions as proof/receipt
He's kind of mean sometimes. Really tough grade. And he always say something not clear. Don't choose him.
His class is strict but very simple. You are at least a junior in college, stop acting like a child. Wu thinks his way is the only way, if you do as he pleases you will get an A. Just be on top of all your work. His class consists of youtube videos to answer weekly: A.) group discussions B.) journal entries based on material C.) online quizzes
He grades what he wants, he doesn't teach the class so be prepared to read the book before class, it's mainly based on participation in the class, the journals every week, online quizzes and group work. The final is a joke.......
Yes there is a lot of work for this class but it was a fairly easy class. As long as you participate and do what you have to you will be fine and pass the class. You have weekly online quizzes and weekly journals and group work but it is all manageable. He wants you to participate in class. You learn a lot in this class in regards to supply chain.
Choose your group carefully. You will get points based on your group. Expect the professor wants to find anything to deduct points. You will find him very detailed on grading and you will get less points than you actually should get. The average grade of the final exam was 55 of 100. Very tough class and very complicated professor. Not recommend.
By far this has been the worst professor I have eve had. For the group work he gave us nearly full credit the first two weeks and then, without us doing anything different on our part, he gave us .20/30, not 20, literally POINT 2. His grading criteria is not clear nor specific and if you ask what to do don't expect any clarification.
Not clear on grading. He will say stuff like "minimum requrement..500 words. But if you want an A, 1000 words & 2 citations." Read the syllabus front & back for stuff like this. Theres a lot of little things hes very specific about. This class is very time consuming, a lot of writing. Not hard per say, but you will need to go above to get an A.
on the first day of class, he creepily said that he was excited for gender-neutral bathrooms so he could watch ladies using the bathroom. i'm not kidding. this really happened. i still don't have any idea what it had to do with the class. that's the type of guy he is.
Professor Wu's scm 304 class is so difficult, I had to join meditation classes because of how stressed out his class made me. It is critical that you pick a good group in order to pass the class because if you don't, kiss your passing grade goodbye. The weekly group discussions take 3-4 hours to finish. He also has weekly reports and quizzes.
The book is on course reserve. You will need 4 stamps, so discuss and share something relevant, new and informative each meeting relating to the class environment. PICK your group members wisely for the weekly discussions. Be active in discussions and do not do the bare minimum in journal postings, go above&beyond for grade. One hard final exam.
People who say this class is hard are people who have no business being a student. There is a lot of work, but its easy and straightforward. His lectures and discussions are enjoyable, and if something was graded poorly, he is willing to work with you. However afterwards he does expect you to get it right every time after. Overall alright professor
This class was a hybrid this summer. He doesn't provide enough study material, but expects you to do online research because class doesn't have a book. He only provides YouTube videos and power points. He is not very reachable. He doesn't restart quizzes even if it were a blackboard complication. He's a bit unclear of what he wants on assignments.
I was intimidated at first because of the previous reviews, but I really enjoyed him. I had the summer 6 week course so maybe he is more lenient than in the normal quarter. He definitely has an out of the box teaching method, where he gives light instruction and expects you to do the rest. He made up for student confusion in his heavy curving.
VERY Picky grader, if it's not done his way, F! He gives out stamps on a paper like we are in kindergarten for participation. Beware, Quizzes are terrible!! The quizzes have multiple answer trick questions and also questions on material that is NOT discussed in class & no where in his power point lectures & no text book available to look in.
SIT UP FRONT THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS Choose your group members wisely and look for an enthusiastic/blackboard friendly group of classmates. Group assignments weekly add to 140 points. All online quizzes are hard but he gives partial credit. Meet once a week with professor for attendance points. Grade is curved in the end. Do the work and don't worry
I am on my third try on his class. because SCM 304 only him open. There are quizzes every week, which are very, very, very difficult. The average is 5/12or3 /10 the correct rate, even if you turn on the teachable. If your team has dropped this course. Then you almost get F. For the first time in his class, 5 of our group of 4 people dropped the cou
He has you make a participation card that he stamps everytime you raise your hand in class. I rarely did this, and I still passed with a B-(probably because of the curving and I did all of my assignments). The online quizzes have multiple answers to each question, and the average grade is a 50%. I hated this class but its not as hard as people say.
You can pass this class, but you'll hate it and you probably won't learn anything. He won't go out of his way to make the class any more organized or straight-forward. Only passable because of a huge curve at the end. Lecture content is just 90 minutes of 50 students BS'ing for participation credit. Took because I hate online classes, big mistake.
The course is not as hard as people say but it can be confusing. Professor Wu is by far the worst professor I've ever had but if you show up on lecture days and get the stamp and do your group assignments you still may fail but at the end he will curve it all and you'll pass no worries. I wouldn't recommend this professor to my worst enemy!
I hate this professor already, everything seems so confusing!!!! No clear rules on how to do certain assignments. Its scary.
The course is not difficult it's just taught by Professor Wu who doesn't seem to care that he has horrible reviews and is pushing students away from the field of Supply Chain Management. He really should be fired for insubordination. Curving grades at the end is what's saving him from being fired. If you can avoid him please do and save a hache.
There are discussion questions every week. You have to write 400 word for each question. A topic has between 2-4 questions each and a chapter has 3-4 topics minimum totaling 2400-6400 words written on a chapter. The problem is that his slides aren't informative and I can learn this myself and I don't need to pay hundreds for this "professor"
This class is being portrayed as a lot harder and difficult then it really is. The group work is the most difficult so pick a good team because your required to work together weekly. You meet once a week and are required to participate for stamps which go on a card you make. People swear, someone holds them accountable and they cry! Its not bad!
The professor is not good, doesn't tell you what you did wrong, the comment I was given was read the guideline. I took the class online and for the weekly quizzes, you cannot see what you did wrong so I effectively learnt nothing because I did not know what I did wrong or right.
BAD. Take someone else.
This is the most difficult class i have ever taken at CSUSB. I have never been so stressed out, Unfortunately he's the only professor who teaches this course.
Enrolling in any class with this professor is like enrolling for failure.
This class made me cry because of how difficult it was. I have never failed a class here at CSUSB until i enrolled in his SCM 350 class.
If you are taking his course whenever it is offered, know that you will go through a TERRIBLE time. I am an A student across the board, however, I had a hard time in this class so keep that in mind. In order to pass with a decent/good grade, collaborate with as many people as you can and learn from online sources/people. Also ask alot of questions.
I can't stress enough how challenging and difficult this class is. I would highly recommend another professor for this course, but unfortunately there are no other professors who teach this course.
Horrible teacher. 10/10 would never take this class if someone paid me too. Talks on and on about irrelevant content and never anything about the lectures that he posts on teachable. He expects everyone to fail but says he'll curve everyone's grade at the end. The quizzes are MULTIPLE ANSWER not multiple choice, same as the final.
Has every characteristic of a terrible teacher. Rants about irrelevant and over simplistic logistics. Weekly quiz questions don't make any sense. People make up ridiculous comments for participation. The CEO of fedex would fail this course.
This class will make you turn religious because of how difficult the professor makes it. Only a miracle will help you pass this course.
I am lost ford words on how terrible this professor is.
Technically the majority of the class failed this class but some were lucky enough to pass because the professor curved grades. In other words, nobody learned the material taught in this class.
Dont take this professor. He has no respect for his students and blatantly ignored my groups request for clarification. To be straight he is the worst educator I have ever been in a class with on all levels. He does not deserve to be a college professor and in my opinion should immediately leave educating and return to his original job in business
Took this course online. Absolutely ridiculous, and I consider myself a great student. The quizzes are insanely vague and tricky. Even if you study the material, watch every video and read every article, you will probably still get a terrible grade. He hasn't even graded our weekly journals yet (which there are A LOT of). Save your money.
I freaked out by the reviews before taking him and tried switching but couldn't. Overall, his class is simple and not even hard. There is literally two things to do in the class: weekly journals (graded twice a semester so 5 week journals per grading) and quizzes. That is it. Just participate and be ahead of the journals and you will pass.
His online class is easy. Just need to read his PowerPoints, answer questions, take a quiz then that's it for the week. The only problem is that he doesn't really answer emails as often as the class wanted him to. We are just teaching ourselves the material really.
If you are a logistics major don't waste your money. Makes you buy teachable that he puts his own material that he could just put on blackboard just making money for himself. Very tricky quiz questions and ridiculous questions for journals with large word count. Doesn't respond to emails and is rude. Type of professor haha I tricked you! Awful!!
Listen. I took this course online and it is not bad at all! If you are the type of student that likes to learn on their own you will be fine. His lectures consist of PowerPoint slides and videos, you have to answer a few questions and submit them. Then you copy and paste them into your journal. The quiz qs come from his lectures. READ THE SYLLABUS.
I passed this class no problem but it was the most stressful class I have ever taken. Main reason I wanted to write a review was to stand up for fellow classmates. Dr. Wu accused many students of cheating without any evidence, simply because they did really bad on a quiz and did better on the next and now they are being reported. DO NOT RECOMMENDED
Everything that everyone says about this professor is correct so STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR. He does weekly quizzes, and journals which was weird because you have to purchase his software Teachable. He doesn't grade entries on Teachable which you purchase but the Blackboard ones he does. For those taking the class, good luck with his class.
This class was interesting; however, the most stressful due to the professor not caring about how to help students but to accuse them of cheating to report them. I personally asked for help to get a better grade on journals and instead he gave me a one sentence feedback not explaining why I got the grade I did. Save yourself the stress..
Hope you enjoy getting your butt pounded by lots of confusing homework. Yes, the class is easy. We get it. However, the professor is not. Incredibly vague powerpoints, $30 to take his class despite paying thousands in tuition already, and hard to reach via email. This dude is the epitome of your entry-level boss at Kohl's. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Literally the worst professor at CSUSB! He made us pay extra to get access to his "material" which were very vague and he would literally upload YouTube videos! I obviously passed the class by teaching myself and he would accuse people of cheating if they got good quiz grades! Class consists of many discussion posts and quizzes every week!
Quizzes every week and dull journal entries which he doesn't even read. He makes you get a paid subscription to a third-party website (because he gets a cut). If you do well on the quizzes he accuses you of cheating and warns that he will seek academic consequences. Very uninvolved and is more interested in catching cheaters than helping students.
DO NOT TAKE. He has quizzes every week, if you get full points you'll be accused of cheating, he says the best grade to get is a 12/20. He does not clarify the content of the course and he does not help answer questions, this course will cause you headaches and anxiety! STAY AWAY! IF I COULD GIVE THIS PROFESSOR A NEGATIVE SCORE I WOULD!
Horrible professor. He allows you to switch to his online course but it takes several emails before he sees it. All the quizzes are stated to be rigged so you either fail or are accused of cheating. Homework is graded twice in the term poorly. Pay $30 for his notes on a website that he gets paid from. Save yourself from the unnecessary stress.
Horrible Professor! Very Condescending and is not there for his students but instead to get joy of their anxiety!
The quizzes are tricky and possibly trick questions. He curves the whole class and not individual assignments. If you put fourth effort and show an understanding of the material. You will most likely get an A. It is a stressful semester though. He is knowledgeable, kind of funny and a good lecturer. Do your work and show interest.
Professor Wu provides lectures and PDF's in which he makes you take a quiz at the end of the week. Don't try to cheat by googling or Quizlet because he intentionally add them but with a twist of words. He curves your grade at the end if you try. I went from a C to an A. Try your best and be honest and he will pass you. Tough grader but fair.
No hmwrk. His lectures are very interesting. He references real world situations that help you understand the class. Such a great professor he made me consider majoring in SCM. Grading heavily based on two exams. Participation is a big part of your grade. Studying will help you pass. He is very knowledgable and has had a successful career bc of it.
Stay away from this professor, he is the worst professor I ever took. 2024!
This class overall was easy, just put in your work each day. His grading can we weird, and instructions unclear but overall a good professor for me.
3 years since I took this class and I still have nightmares about this condescending man. He taught nothing relevant to quizzes / exams and threatened to take action up with the dean for my use of his trap quizlet. Then ghosted me. He shouldn't be allowed to teach. Unresponsive, rude, truly just wants you to fail. I'm begging you. Don't take it.
The professor has a unique teaching style, but if you engage with it, you can learn a lot. Quizzes can be tricky, so study hard and use resources like Unstuck study to prep. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.
Take this class (Bus 105) with another professor and save yourself the money and time.
