Great teacher! You are expected to come to class and study hard. This is no easy class anywhere you take it. He is very helpful, curves test, removes bad questions, drops lowest quizzes, overall great guy. There is extra credit as well. Study the book, not just notes and powerpoints. I did very well in his class.

I liked this class. He is fair, and willing to work with you. He takes off questions everyone missed and gives extra credit. He is a good teacher. You must work hard in this class.

Dr.Z is a GREAT teacher. He is simple and clear with exactly what you need to know to pass the class. This is by no means an easy class and it takes hard work and a good teacher. He is it. Curves tests, drop quizzes, and throws out dumb questions. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED

Dr. Z is a great professor. I took him for BIO141 after reading other ratings from Rate my professor. He takes roll so you need to go to class. Quiz almost every lecture but they are not hard. Drops low quiz grades, offers, extra credit on tests. I have him for lab too - quizzes almost every lab, grades fair, easy to talk to! Take him!

I loved Dr. Z. He gives a quiz on every chapter (definitions) but you need to read the text to pass the tests. All MC tests, format is very similar to the end of chapter tests in the book. I found him very helpful and accomodating if you had to miss a quiz/test. (Just don't ask him obviously stupid questions). I wish he taught 142...

I will say he is very clear about what he expects. But to be honest he is quite rude and impersonal. Keep up with quizs. Dont bothering turning in anything early he loses it, makes mistakes and then gets an attitude when you point it out. If your a person whom can follow a realtively predictable class u make out with an A. Got questions? Dont take!

Dr. Z is one of my favorite professors I've had while at TCC. He is very knowledgeable about a&p and enjoys a hard working student.

Hes a good prof. but make sure youre self motivated. youll have to do alot of reading outside of the class but he goes over what you need to know in power points. MC tests and quizes on every chapter. make sure you talk to him in advance about missing a test and have a really good reason.

I had him his first semester teaching. He is very nice and helpful. His quizzes are vocab and easy to pass, and his tests require a bit of studying on your part, but he is passionate, knowledgable, doesn't mind helping, and has a dry sense of humor that sarcasn lovers will appreciate. It's only the ones who don't get that who dare to call him rude.

Dr. Zimmerman is a great professor. His class isn't easy, but biology isn't supposed to be. Quizzes are given for each chapter consisting of key terms. Tests encompass three chapters and require quite a bit of study time. All in all, I absolutely LOVED Dr. Z's class. He's willing to help any student as much as he can if they're so inclined to ask.

Awesome overall teacher. The man had a career in the field doing this stuff so knows it real well. He also gives many chances for you to get a good grade in the class so as long as you do what you are supposed to do you will pass.

Dr Z is a great teacher. Posts excellent study guides to blackboard for every chapter, drops 5 lowest quiz grades and gives ample opportunities for extra credit. Wish he was teaching 102 this summer so I could take him again.

Dr. Z was an amazing teacher! He gives power points for every chapter. Just make sure you read the chapter also because tests are worded with a mixture of power points and book definitions. He gives an extra credit paper that is super easy and extra credit for not missing any classes!

Dr. Z is very knowledgeable and has a lot of respect for students displaying a real eagerness to learn. His class is hard, but that should be expected for any anatomy and physiology class. Be aware that he has a VERY dry sense of humor and his sarcasm can easily be mistaken for rudeness. He seems to really love teaching, and margaritas!

Dr.Z is the most amazing teacher I have ever had. He is tough but that is expected with Anatomy. He is the most intelligent and helpful teacher in the entire BIO department. I highly recommend him as an instructor. Work hard and show motivation he will definitely help you succeed!!

I had Dr. Z for BIO 141 and he was amazing! His powerpoints were really helpful when studying, don't get me wrong.. it's ALOT of studying, but I actually enjoyed Dr. Z, he was clear and helpful. SERIOUSLY wish he was teaching 142, i would def take him again!!

Take him.Very good person, and will do whatever it takes to help you pass. Study, study, study. Power-point is your main study guide.He will scare you at the beginning, but this is just the military style in him.

I had Dr. Z for lecture and like the other posts read he is in no way easy but he is extremely helpful. He teaches straight from power point but doesnt give out study guides he wants you to know all of the material. He also helped out tremendously in my lab even tho i didnt have him he gave the classes slides of all the models for lab portion to help study!

best anatomy teacher at tcc. everyone thinks hes mean but hes a military man, hes hardcore. if you give it your all he helps you out. so much extra credit and extra credit for perfect attendance. take him and youll get at least a high b

I had him for Fall 2010. He gave us vocabulary quizzes on every chapter, so attendance was mandatory. But having the extra quiz average was extremely helpful. His test were really hard, but he built in extra credit. It was a lot of studying and textbook use. Overall, I loved the class and would strong recommend him.

Had Dr. Z for lab. I love him! He really is the best lab prof. He seems intimidating at first, but he's actually very nice. A&P is the most difficult course. expect a lot of studying & spending time in open lab. His quizzes are practical style, which helps A LOT. He also gives mini-practicals to lighten the load. Totally recommended!

Amazing lab teacher! He's probably the toughest, but I feel that he offers the most incentives. You'll just have to take him and see for yourself. great prof. to those that are complaining that he doesn't teach & you have to teach yourself, DUH it's college... and it's ANATOMY. no anatomy teach goes over each and every little thing you need to know. this course is very hard. spend your life in open lab and study A LOT and you'll be fine. if you cant do that, you need to reconsider your major.

Loved having Dr. Z for 141 lab very tough course but he makes it better with the ec. He may seem a little on the rude side but he is actually really nice, my only complaint is he doesn't teach 142!!!! All a&p teachers are touch bc of the subject not a class where u can afford to be lazy

I was a little intimidated at our first session, but he has been a pretty good instructor. Pay attention, go to lab, study and you will do fine. He guides you on what you need to know. Class isn't complete yet, but I plan on getting an A.

I have not completed the course yet; but I like Dr. Z. Initially, I was a little intimidated. I think he was weeding out the students. Dr. Z provides slides in blackboard for every section we study. Quiz material covers only what he says. You do have to put in work & time & study hard. If you fail the class it's not his fault.

Gives A LOT of grades which makes it very easy robe successful as long as you come to every class and keep up with the reading. The class follows the same timeline as lab which makes the material easier to keep up with.

I had Dr. Z for lecture and his class is very straight forward. He reads powerpoints during class which gets really boring but his tests and quizzes are all straight from the powerpoints. Gives 20 points to total grade if you have perfect attendance. He seems intimidating in the beginning but he's actually really nice a helpful!!!

Great teacher. I must admit he is very mean and hard to talk to, but he is very straight forward. I truly wish he taught 142 lab.. I got an A in his class, and i am not the best student. Of course he doesn't baby you, he goes word from word with the lab packet. Easy A come on people he gives you what you need. Easy A !!!!!!

Dr.Z is very clear and fair. No surprises on the his tests/labs. He will train you very well on the models for lab - so you most likely do well on practicals. Tests are from both book and pps. Quizzes are from pps. I loved his teaching style and 100% recommend him. He really cares for his students, but you have to study!

Dr. Zimmerman is a great Professor. He will teach you exactly what you need to know for each practical. If you need your hand held, do not take him. If you want to succeed and want a professor that will help you get there, then he is the Professor you want!

Dr. Z is a wonderful man who cares for his students, but at the same time will not hold your hand. He encourages all of us to dive into the material using the tips he gives us. If a student needs his/her hand help, perhaps college as a whole is not for that student. I would be elated to have him in the future. Work hard and study!

Dr.Z is a great professor! Dr. Z does his part on helping during lab if you ask him any questions. However, he expects you to mostly learn material on your own. He definitely gets your ready for the practical. Bio 141 is a course that is challenging, so be prepared! Be on time and study hard, and you'll get a good grade in his class! Good luck!

I have Dr. Z for lab and I love his teaching style, because he prepares you for practicals. He goes right off the lab manual, so there isn't any surprises on quizzes. He drops 9 out of 19 quizzes, and is there for help when you ask. He's a very knowledgeable teacher and I wished he taught lab for 142!

I thoroughly enjoyed his class! He comes off strong as first, but throughout the semester he opens up. He has a good heart and truly cares about his students! Its a hard class but if you study than you'll get an A. I had him for both lecture and lab. I heard horror stories about him but stuck with my gut. It was worth it.

It's A&P 1 you should expect to study a lot. He does drop quizzes in lab & lecture., a test in lecture, & includes extra credit. If you aren't doing well or he thinks you won't do well he will let you know. At first he comes off a bit harsh but he wants you to understand the importance of this class. His jokes & sarcasm can come off mean he's not.

At first seems mean and tough. He lays down the law but is actually a real softie. Excellent instruction an very clear. Drops 8 of 18 quiz grades. Great sense of humor. Be ready to study. There is a lot of material, but manageable if you work for it. If you want an 'A' I would suggest taking only A&P 141 with nothing else. Learnt so much!

There are a lot of reviews talking negatively about Dr. Zimmerman. He can be incredibly direct, sometimes rude, and has no filter but he is going to weed those who cant do it from those who can. Half the class will drop by the 2nd half. He is not for the weak hearted only serious college students. He drops half your quizzes in lab. BE IN CLASS!

This man is an awesome professor i had him for lab. He makes you work for it. He gives you the material you need to study. He gives you everything you need pass with an easy A. I did. You don't understand you ask. There are open lab times use it. He is pretty straight forward. You want an A and a clear understanding of 141 take his class.

Dr Z is amazing! There are five tests for the course and then a take home final exam. He drops the lowest test grade. There are 13 quizzes & he drops the 3 lowest quiz grades. He goes through powerpoints that have all the info for the tests and quizzes. He also posts the PP's on BB. He is awesome and helpful. Very knowledgeable. Dr Z is the best!

Dr. Z is the best professor you can take for BIO 141. He is very clear about how the semester will go and lets you know from the beginning that effort will be required all throughout the class. Everything you need to know will be in his PowerPoints and the textbook. As long as you are willing to work hard, you can achieve an A in his class.

This dude always called me out when I'm late for class so make sure you show up on time lol. He comes across as apathetic in the first few classes but once he knows that ur taking his class seriously, he'll lighten up on you. Don't take him if ur not willing to study cus he expects everyone to get As on his quizzes & practicals.

Dr. Zimmerman is an excellent teacher. He can be a bit sarcastic but he means well. As long as you go to every class and study like you're suppose to you will pass. He gives you everything you need in order to pass. Study power points for quizzes and do the online mastering practice quizzes to study for tests. The questions are straight from there.

Dr. Zimmerman + Study A in 141 lab. That simple. He does love quizzes (says he's quiz happy) and gives 19, but you will be thanking him for them when you waltz through practicals. Word to the wise: Don't talk back to him, complain about the models, or be surprised that he is always in a bad mood. That's about it. Awesome professor!!!!

It is a shame that Dr. Z cannot teach lecture anymore. Best A&P professor out there! This is a hard class so if your expecting someone to hand it to you than you should pick another major. Dr. Z gives so much extra credit if you fail it's YOUR fault. Take him if you can for lab too, he prepares you for the midterm and final better than most. A+++++

AMAZING teacher for bio 141 lab. he gets you ready for quizzes and practicals. on blackboard he provided us with slides of each model we needed to know to help us study. be sure to spell word correctly on quizzes since you have to on the practicals. overall an amazing teacher. I would HIGHLY recommend him for Bio 141 lab!

Dr. Zimmerman is an amazing lab professor. BIO141 lab IS a difficult class. However, if you study the powerpoints and models, and take advantage of open labs you will do well. Dr. Z will prepare you for the practicals! He wants you to succeed in his lab, and prepares you to get the A. (also has a great sock collection) I wish he taught BIO142!

You need to take Dr. Z's 141 lab class! At the beginning of the semester he gives you everything you will need to pass this class. That's not to say it's an easy class; you will have to work! The weekly quizzes are set up as mini-practicals. You are more than prepared to ace the midterm & final practical exams.

Starts off stern but warms up as the semester continues. He tells you how he sees it and doesn't care who knows it. Study hard and he'll give you input on who you should take for BIO 142.

Mr. Zimmerman expects each student to put in the work to achieve the grades. My class was a compacted summer semester and required a lot of material in short amounts of time. He is a no nonsense guy, but pushes you to do more. Expect to work hard with self-studying. Payoff is worth it. I would take him again.

Dr. Z will help you get through the semester if you are willing to put effort into it! study! study! study! The weekly quiz is like a light version of the practical, and this will definitely help you get a grasp of what the practicals are like. hard class, but you get what you work for! I got a total of 106% in his lab.

Professor Z is one of the best lab professors I've ever had. Although you have to study a lot and the quizzes are difficult, you'll have learned the whole body by the end of the course. Dr. Z is a wonderful professor. Hes not easy but he gets you prepared for your practicals. If you want an easy A that wont happen. Be prepared to study and be dedicated to this class. He seems mean but he really isnt. He is just trying to make sure we know the information and he doesnt have time for people who arent willing to put in the work.

He wants you to succeed, he's a bit intimidating at first. He lightens up, give it time. He will give you everything you need to pass, tells you exactly what to study, gives weekly quizzes (19 total), which may seem like a lot but they really help you learn he drops your 9 lowest. He really doesn't lecture learning the material is up to you, STUDY!

He is strict, HOWEVER, he tells you exactly what you need to know for the quizzes each week and allows you to leave after doing so. He does not lecture that much, but its anatomy, you HAVE to memorize the material for yourself and be sure to attend open labs, you will pass in doing so. He prepares you extremely well for the practicals.

This teacher is extremely hard not even gonna lie. But you are SO prepared for the practical midterm and practical final. All of his quizzes are fill in the blank from memory, he gives 19 quizzes drops lowest 9. His powerpoints are AMAZING. Id take him again for his powerpoints alone. Hes tough, but put in the work and he is so worth it!

He is tough! If you miss one class you are screwed! But, it is because of his class that I passed the entire course itself. He does not lecture, He will tell you what you need to know (which will range from 40-100 terms a week) you will be quizzed every class, and then he will go to the next chapter. TAKE THE TIME TO GO TO OPEN LAB! Or U wont pass.

Assessment-heavy, every week. But they'll prepare you for Practical exams. I got over 100 in his lab. It was hard though, study A LOT and you can too. He tells you precisely which lists to identify/memorize each week. He doesn't actually keep track of who stays for open lab, but mentally he does. He'll help those who are helping themselves.
