He is a great teacher. He knows his stuff! He is real layed back and can communicate w/ students on our level. He'll do what he can to help you understand!I recomend this class to anyone!!
Very smart and sometimes went over my head, but he could always bring it back down to my level. He gives LOTS of EC and I got an A! (NEVER gotten that kind of grade in chem before!)

I took his class because of what previous people wrote about him. At first, he seems so nice you're happy you in his class. He's not easy going, his tests are very hard and he doesn't know how to teach. WHO GAVE THIS ASS A JOB? he made my life hell. Even he thinks he's so nice, but you don't know him like I did. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. EVER!
okay....he was kinda cute...but when the ENTIRE class fails the first two tests, there is something wrong!
I have never taken a chemistry class before and I made an A, granted it wasnt just an easy A, I worked for it. The homework is basically the tests, so it is a must. He is willing to help, but you have to go to him. He goes over hard homework problems and tries to bring chemistry things to real life applications. I would take any other class by him
he is nice but unclear and very hard and very tight when it comes to the grades.at leasthe could curve the tests and have an extra credit for who does not do well in the test which is very hard.I will say he is nice but not my choice for second time.sorry Mr.wayne.it's the truth.
I guess I could have a had a worse professor...be prepared to speak up quick when he asks the class questions or he'll assume everyone is a slacker and not reading--making you and the whole class feel stupid(even if you are reading) No study guides and no extra credit. Does not curve. Remember also that his idea of easy is NOT easy.
He is very enthusiastic about the course and explains topics well. He does give opportunities to earn extra points and he grades labs pretty easy. His exams are challenging but he does curve the class at the end of the semester. I would take recommend his course. It prepares you for the next level.
Mr.Frazee is a great teacher I had him for Chem 1 and got an A. His test can be hard but he explains everything well. Dont miss class or you will be behind. The homework can take some time but it is not bad he works lots of examples and will help any way he can. Over all great class and would recommend him to friends
very hard teacher and he made it the class even harder, not very good and not clear.I worked so hard to get the B even I got A in organic I,I really don't know about the comments. take another teacher.
very tought teacher and unclear, chemistry was my world but he made me hate it,he will answer your question by showing you that he is the master and you are the stupid.not very nice.I advice not to take him for organic I or II.I don't know about chem I or II.
very hard and clear at all, very hard tests.don't take him for organic I &II
The class is challenging, but good for preparation to the next level. If you just do the homework and ask questions you will be able to make a good grade. Mr. Frazee is very willing to work with you and is helpful. I would recomen him.
Mr. Frazee is enthusiastic about chemistry, which is the biggest thing that makes him a good OrgoChem teacher. It's a tough subject but he always finds a way to explain things splainly. He's extremely helpful and makes himself available to you if you need extra help. You can't slack in his class which means he'll get you where you need to be.
Took him for chem I & he was great! Do the homework & read the chps for the tests & you'll do good. It's challenging, but Frazee did a good job at keeping lecture not boring for the subject chemistry. He'll answer Q's & is friendly & funny which makes it more enjoyable. Just work hard. Takes dedication & study time to master an A.
Mr Frazee was good at keeping Chemistry interesting. His jokes were lame but they made you remember stuff. If you do the homework and take notes in lecture you will do good in this class.
Frazee is the man. He makes the course difficult, and I would not recommend him for an easy grade. But, if you're going on to more advanced chemistry classes, he is the best at TCC. Stay on your toes and pay attention, because he actually pays attention when you suck!
Prof. is bored with teaching. Blended class had lecture pdf (not written by him), online homework (not written by him) and tests (not written by him). This class is SELF TAUGHT - don't expect help at all (email went unanswered). Homework and labs are still ungraded 2 months later. BTW I made an A but because I got a tutor.
Relates concepts well and seems genuinely interested in the progress of his students. It's not a 'gimme' course at all, but if you work hard and don't take advantage of him, you'll probably achieve some success in this course. He teaches from powerpoint and whiteboard examples, plus he's pretty enthusiastic about the material.
Chem I is a tough subject but show up to class, do the reading, the Homework, and labs. Made an A in the class Mr Frazee always answered quetions both inside and outside of class. To those who say he is hard or not helpful maybe you should look at yourself and make sure you gave your best effort.
Good Teacher; tries to be funny. Attendance is a must!! Content of subject is hard to grasp but easy concept once u understand. Would recommend, he can be a bit bland sometimes. Labs due in one week, he loves old school music. Is hard on grading and attendance! If you're really wanting to learn, take this guy!
Best teacher I've had.
I found this class very difficult and had to drop it. While he seemed like a nice guy he kind of made me feel stupid when I asked questions in class/lab. I think maybe I just didn't "click" with the way he teaches. I'm horrible with math and science so to someone else this might be a good class to take...but not for me!
Only real grades are for labs and tests. If you aren't very good at the subject or stink at test taking this professor isn't your best pick. Nice guy but majority of your grade is the tests.
Good teacher! Horrible at chemistry & did really well in his class. (: Cool guy; obvious he wants you to succeed. Attend class, don't be late for labs, DO THE HW~ really helps you understand the material & he takes test questions right from the HW. Tests aren't easy, but definitely do-able. Labs are easy points & worth a huge chunk of your grade.
Mr. Frazee is one of the best teachers I've had in a long time. The class isn't easy but he makes it as fun as he can. Don't skip class. He's more likely to give you more points on a test if you always go to class and just give it your best. He isn't a pocket-protector nerd guy at all. He's down to earth and genuinely wants students to learn.
Need to ask a questions in class, you might as well get prepared to feel stupid. I watched it happen over and over to the point that I decided on tutoring rather than make it known I didn't understand something. If you take this class, you better have STRONG auditory learning and do NOT expect help. If you don't need help, you'll get a long GREAT!
I think he is great as a person (just listen to him talk & he likes you). He really wants you to learn the material, so take him if you have to go on to chem 2 or organic (etc), he'd be great if you really need to know basics well to move up. Don't take him if you want an easy class though! Didn't give any extra credit & tests were super difficult.
I had to hire a tutor to teach me everything . I guess it's because he treats everything like its so simple and like we should already know all the conversions & terms and he never goes in depth with the math problems ! also he is a huge control freak and NEVER ASK HIM FOR HELP ! YOU WILL FEEL STUPID
Blended class, don't ask questions unless he ask for them, but will still answer you like you are stupid. explained how to do labs well tho. gets irritated easily.
He is a very nice man and is very passionate about what he teaches. So passionate in fact I think he forgets that he is teaching and his students have not been exposed to the material before. I had to work very hard to pass this class with a B. I would never take him again. He constantly made people feel stupid for asking questions.
Organic Chem II: I learned more with Mr. Frazee than I have in any other Chemistry class. I normally attend school at a larger university and I felt he helped me and the class as a whole understand everything we needed to know. Yes it's tough. This degree is general is tough and you must work and do the homework to pass!
Absolutely loved Prof Frazee. Must work hard but he is a GREAT teacher. Attendance to lecture is important, as well as keeping up with homework. Chemistry isn't easy, but at least he makes it doable. I like him so much I plan on taking chem II and organic I and II from him.
Frazee does a great job teaching. He's really interested and knowledgeable in what he does. Asking him questions during and after class is pretty easy. The lectures are also really easy to understand though I wish that he would hand out more in class work.
If you actually read the chapters and study what he tells you, you'll do fine. Frazee was cool and laid back. He gave extra credit and the tests weren't too bad, again as long as you studied and paid attention. Ochem isn't a blow off course and needs time, but Professor Frazee was more than willing to help out on anything that wasn't understood.
Chemistry is no joke. Frazee is tough but is a good teacher. He makes you earn your grade. I probably spent 8-10 hours a week studying to get of the A in his class. He was helpful when i had questions. I noticed that he could have a slight temper at times. If you want to learn chemistry take this guy. If you want an easy A this is not the guy.
Mr. Frazee was a great teacher. The class was hard, but that's what I expected with Chem 2. If you do your work, study and read the chapters, you should do well in the class. He cares about how well everyone is doing and tries his best to help everyone pass.
He is a nice enough guy but DOES NOT explain stuff clearly. He dumps too much on you at once and you never know what's going on. If it weren't for youtube tutorials I would have failed.
Despite the tough subject, this professor is good! Attendance is important, he will take roll before lecture and lab. Offers extra credit occasionally and drops one lowest test score in place of final. Tests are mostly multiple choice but will grant partial credit on questions that require more work. Lastly, he will drop your two lowest lab scores!
This class was tough but Mr. Frazee has a wealth of knowledge and is willing to help if you ask. There are several tests, all with multiple choice and short answer, but if you make sure to keep up with the material you'll do well on them. He makes the labs fun and has a lot of funny little sayings. Completion grade on homework, one per chapter.
I had professor Frazee for Chem 1 . His class needs time and studying. He was a great instructor other then he gets very irritated quickly and when asking him a question looks at you like you know it.
Frazee was an awesome professor! He gets a bad rap, but he was nothing like I expected. He was extremely helpful. Serious, but fun too. Had a great time and am looking forward to taking him again for Organic Chem. Make sure you do the homework and STUDY! Don't be late. If you show interest in the class, he is willing to help. Glad I had him!
I am a straight A student, and I struggled to get a B in this class. He assigns homework, which you have to teach yourself. Would definitely NOT recommend him. SERIOUSLY DO NOT TAKE HIM YOU WILL REGRET IT
Professor Name: Insert Your Name... Because you will be teaching this entire course to yourself. He's a nice guy, just not a good professor.
At the beginning of the year, I thought he was extremely helpful. He understood that this is a Chem 1 class and doesn't expect you to know chemistry already like most other chem 1 teachers. He's fun and seems passionate but as the semester has gone on the material has been a bit rushed through. The class is very passable if some effort is put in.
Organic Chemistry, regardless of the professor, is a tough class. My experience showed that reading ahead, paying attention to lecture, doing all of the homework (which you get extra credit for; some tests the extra credit can improve the final score by a letter grade), and staying ahead left no room for anything but success.
Expect to read or be lost. Lots of homework completion grades and lab grades which helps offset tough tests. He also drops two lab scores and your lowest test score so he's pretty fair. But he is very smart so he talks over your head sometimes. He does seem willing to help if you ask.
I completed both sequences of Organic Chemistry with Prof Frazee. Org I provided the foundation that left me completely prepared for II. Keeping my habit of reading ahead and doing all of the homework left me with plenty of headroom. Read as much as you can AHEAD of the lecture, do all of the hw, and then give yourself time to review.
Honestly, try someone else. He teaches the material in an unclear manner, leaving you to teach yourself everything.
Tough class with lots of homework. Online lectures are more helpful than the powerpoints. He is intimidating and expects students to understand concepts fast.
Avoid, doesn't teach, makes fun of students
Nice professor, learn a lot, interesting labs
Great prof!
very knowledgable professor
great teacher!
MEHHH Avoid if possible
If you want to teach yourself general chemistry II, go for it, if not and you need a professor who teaches in class, avoid Frazee. He is a nice guy and he was funny in class, however his teaching style landed me a D in this class. The book used is vague and all he does is review in class, he rarely teaches and rarely walks you through the formulas.
Professor is funny and wants everyone to pass the class. He teaches via powerpoint and assigns homework to help reinforce the material. Unfortunately, his teaching style is rather fast and you may need to teach yourself outside of class in order to understand the material. Exams are difficult, but if you know your material, then you are fine.
I took Chem 1 blended. Frazee didn't lecture or teach at all. You'd show up for labs, and he would go over how to do the lab and that was it. All the homework was online and we would rarely review homework. Study guides are not a thing! To study for tests you would review the book and homework. Want my advice? Don't take this class!
Great professor overall. The material is nothing harder than OChem1, he assigns homework for extra credit on the exams which is awesome. READ THE BOOK and look over the slides. He mentions stuff in class that is not in the book and it shows up on exams. If you do all the homework problems and understand them fully, you will do well on the exams.
Really had to self teach in this class and study hard for tests but was able to make a good grade. Did a good job demonstrating labs and helping us with them but when it came to homework he was not helpful. Anytime he demonstrated the math problems it was very unclear. I enjoyed him as a prof but I refuse to take him for higher level chem classes
Professor Frazee knows his stuff. I took his summer organic 2 class and had a very good experience. He is a genuine person, he cares about students and making the material comprehensible. His labs are very decent and reasonable, if you like chemistry he will make you love it more. I highly recommend taking this class.
Took a summer 8 wk intro to chem course. He was tough when it came to grading. labs were simple; however just like any chem class be prepared for a lot of studying!
Frazee is a nice teacher, but this class is test heavy and the final is comprehensive which usually weighs a lot in your final grade. Going to his office hours really helps with understanding Chem. The examples he gives in lecture are similar to tests but he doesn't give enough HW examp. to prep you for tests. You can get an A but you cant keep it
If you want to teach yourself, take this class. If you want a professor who will actually teach, there are better options...
You will have to teach yourself to even pass this class!! It is impossible because the professor does not teach the material well at all. Avoid, and there are way better options at TCC.
He teaches examples not concepts which makes it difficult when the test comes around. Use the book if you want to pass. Read the book, go to class, he's not a bad guy so if you need help then ask.
Awesome professor! Works with ya, wants to see you succeed and is extremely understanding. Will be taking all his available classes
He tends to skim over the notes, so sadly you must read the book, which we had online. Hopefully he is going to change that, TopHat is awful! Do the homework and labs they are easy points. He does not provide a study guide for any of the exams, I hope he changes that as well. Try to engage him in class so he doesnt get frustrated.
He is an excellent teacher. Took him for Organic chem 2 in summers and he really helped me to pass it. He was available before & after the class. Orgo 2 is hard and if you put your effort into this class he definitely helps you to succeed. I wish I had him for my organic chem 1. if you are a student who cares about your grade, take him
So frustrated with this class. The material is difficult, but even harder is trying to teach yourself. He has us doing chemical and ionic equations on a word document where its hard to show work or use exponents or subscripts, then grades the 10 problems I took 6 hours on harshly. Ive never had below an A in my life but I think thats over now.
Mr. Frazee is an amazing teacher. He helps you understand and genuinely cares about how you are doing in his class. I would absolutely take another class of his.
This class is an easy A, at least if taken online. Homework takes a ton of time considering it's worth 15 points. It does help you understand the concepts. I started out doing everything he said to learn the material. Now I simply go through the Powerpoint and do the homework. Tests are open book, ppt, notes. So you don't have to know everything.
The only reason I did well is because I was always at the tutoring center and always had people in my life who know chemistry to help me. Other people cannot access that kind of help. His tests were nothing like the material and you could not prepare. I was blindsighted by the difficulty of tests. I'm taking Ochem 2 at NSU just because I hate this.
I went into this class thinking that I would struggle because I usually learn better in person but I think that this class is very simple. you will have homework every week and it usually takes 2-3 hours to do but it is not impossible to do. labs are very simple. To be honest, I didn't learn much but I am still passing.
Ochem is hard but he provides recorded lectures, some handouts, test outlines and practice problems, and is always open to meet outside of class. He would answer my questions before tests so I could feel prepared. He is a fair grader and provides partial credit on MC problems. Also does a fun PP presentation project. Nice and caring professor
Chem sucks but online Chem is super difficult. Frazee's lectures are pretty lacking and I spent a lot of time in the tutoring center. I ended up with a 97% but I don't feel like I actually learned anything...
Orgo can be very difficult, and this class could've been so much harder, but Professor Frazee not only took time outside of class to work with me, he will try and give bonus points and opportunities to improve your grade. He truly cares about each student. Do NOT miss lecture or skip homework assignments. For difficult concepts, find a pattern.
Very strict on grading but provides good feedback. Exams are difficult, one was online and the others were in class. No notes allowed, and no retakes. You can drop one exam, lab, and homework score. Homework is online which you have to pay for and there is an assignment due every week (takes 2-3 hr). Ask for help!
I have always hated Chemistry mostly because of the professors I had handling it, but Professor Frazee is the first to make me actually want to study to understand it. If you understand basic math you are good to go with his math teachings in the subject. He breaks down the most important part of each topic to your understanding. He is nice too.
I was very nervous about taking chem as an adult college student because of how difficult it was for me over a decade ago in high school. So, I saved this pre-req for last. Prof. Frazee was nice and very helpful. Thankfully, with his help, I passed the class with an A! I would recommend taking his course!
RUNNN AWAY. do not take him, every question you have he will tell you to go to the tutoring center and not offer you any help. Labs are very easy and he always cancels class. But very test heavy. unless you want to teach your self everything do not reccomend. this teacher suckssss. and does not offer anything to help your grade.
This was a blended class. Spent a lot of time in the tutor lab and studying on the homework and for the exams. Tests were proctored and labs were in person. Lecture was at home. Do your homework and you will pass.
I was scared to take organic chemistry in college because of the label that students put on the class but Prof. Frazee broke it down very well and would take extra time to answer students questions, he also has a dad sense of humor and would make catchy rhymes. He offers extra practice problems and gives students solid ideas about the exam material
He's okay. The omitting of work at the end is great and really helps, I had a B & C during the semester. It's a very different class, along with his teaching, and that's what makes it difficult. Very chill, but maybe too chill.
