Ms Johnson is very friendly. She always has a smile on her face. All you have to do to pass her class is show up every day. The material can be boring sometimes but she always adds something interesting to it.
Very easy but she will preach the whole time.
Supper easy teacher with alot of extra credit. But you have to go to every class, and she likes to hear herself talk alot.

This Professor is very passionate about this subject. She is very democratic, and looks to find the positive in all. It is a feel good about yourself and others class. Follow her instructions, and you'll do great.
Keeps the class interested in topic. Very lively. Also willing to help any one who needs it. Knows what she is talking about. If you don't miss a day of class getting an A is very easy.

All I had to do was show up to class, she is very critical of everyone, doesn't teach have the time and is always late for class. She is also very defensive when someone asked a question in class. I also thought she picked her favorites out and let them do whatever they wanted. Poor teacher.

Most material we got through first half of the class (summer course, 6 weeks). The last 2 weeks we sat around mostly while talking to our friends & then left early. It was such a waste of time. She wasn't very clear with directions for the paper we had to do. Lectures VERY boring, test are easy. She's nice. But I'm glad this wasn't a 16 week class.

This class was super easy. If you show up every time class meets you get a lot of extra credit. She made the notes, and explained all of them very well. I didn't even buy the book. She knew her subject content very well and was an awesome teacher.
You could pass the class with the barest of effort, but I wouldn't recommend it. She's a blazing idiot.

very boring, picks favorites, mumbles alot and always sounds like she has to spit. Don't ask her questions in class because she freaks out and doesn't answer and says she doesn't have time to. Always late for class and doesn't seem to want to help her students because she's always in a rush. Don't take a class with her if you can help it.

Very easy but teacher was loud. Gave out notes so a book isn't needed. Tests were mc, she assigned a 5 page paper and was strict on attendance (assigned a paper for 1 unexcused absence) Even though lectures were interesting, class was unbearable the last 2 weeks b/c we didn't do anything & couldn't leave. I some what studied and passed she gives great notes she hates when you are late and slackers but who doesn't? I am taking her again and again a for sure "A" in that class
How could anyone say anything bad about this prof? She is awesome, fun, and easy going. Okay, he attendence policy is a little strict (you have to make up any class you miss at another time), but otherwise, you learn a lot in a very easy way. I definately recommend her!!!
GREAT Teacher! She gives you notes, you don't have to use the text book, 4 tests 60 questions multi-choice. She gives lots of extra credit!I liked that she gives little quizzes to prepare you for tests that give you points on the 1s U get right! The 1s you don't won't count! It's a win, win!
Very stupid lectures, she talks about nothing all class, but if you miss more then one class, she makes you sign up another class, just a waste of my time.
easy "A"--very strict attendance policy (i had to make up a class for leaving 10 minutes early to make it to a doctors appt!)--shes ALWAYS (usually about 15 minutes)late so no need to be punctual. just repeat everything she says and you'll be fine but be prepared to sit there bored out of your mind
I think she is great! She gives you all the information you need for the class and you never have to open the book. Attendance is strict. She gives lots of extra credit. I recommend her.

Miss Johnson is straight up tough on attendence,you be better not late to class. She makes me take another class to make up for a miss, but she does not always follow her own policy on that. When you asked her a question in class, she gets off subject, but was cool to me when I was to talk to her in her office hours.

Be prepared to want to stare at the clock all hour. She tells you what to hylight for the test and study that. I never use my book. She's easy but its boring.

UNNECESSARILY STRICT ON ATTENDANCE! Has no heart for loss of family or medical emergencies. She does not explain the research paper thoroughly and often contradicted herself when trying to do so. She knows her stuff, that's for sure, but she needs to get a caring heart and understand her own projects BEFORE explaining them to her students.

I didn't appreciate the constant viewing of videos towards the end... she seems qualified, however the attendance policy is a joke- I'd love to rip her a new one about the policy, as she enjoys interrupting and condescending your plight to discuss WHY you were sick. SERIOUSLY?! How are you even in a professional atmosphere?
She was an average prof. Seemed to be engaged in what she was teaching. Runs her class like its junior high. Doesn't like dissenting opinions. Do the work she asks and take notes, you'll get an A.
I took her a few years back. she's a sweetheart. she enjoys what she teaches and is more than willing to help out a struggling student. i've never met a nicer woman.
she's a good professor. kind of repetitious, class moves at a slow pace. she gives typed notes for every chapter word-for-word from the text, expects you to read anyway but everything u need is in the notes. occassional XC for reading quizzes. perfect attendance 10 pts XC. would take her again.

Worst teacher I have ever had. She never had one class discussion the entire semester. Strict attendance policy. She made me write a paper to make up two days that I missed (both excused absences) but she would sometimes take attendance and tell people they could leave. What a joke.
Once was enough, wouldn't take her again, she's not for me, didn't learn at all. He also showed us way too many cartoon films, I mean, come on, I'm in college now.
People shouldn't be so harsh on Ms. Johnson!! Yes, she has a strict attendance policy, but the class is sooo easy that if she didn't have it people wouldn't show up. It's an easy A that she makes you put some effort into getting :)
Her key phrase is 'Stick to the syllabus!' Do not show up late to class and do NOT have your cell phone out. Her class is really easy though and she gives you all the information ahead of time. She just tends to ramble on too much
Terrible teacher, i didn't really learn anything from that class. Class is absolutely manditory, and she makes you make up for days that you miss. She is horrible with helping people with questions about assignments. The only good thing i can say is that the class is very easy.
I absolutely HATED this teacher!!!! It's really, really hard to understand her, her attendance policy is over the top ridiculous, and above all she offers little to no help to her students unless they set up a "specific" appointment...even if it's just a basic question. AVOID TAKING HER CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!!
This woman is legitimately out of her mind. I have never seen a teacher in such desperate need of therapy. Unfortunately she's not introspective and is rationalizing her inadequacy by surrounding herself with young, impressionable students who stroke her ego erroniously. Highly unethical, low esteem and a major control freak.
EASY A!! But I didn't learn a thing! She never answers a question if you have one! If you get on her "bad" side you will be there for the rest of the semester! The lectures are super boring she gives you a packet and tells you what is "important" on the test so put a star by it, the test go in the same exact order as the packets.
Brutal, worst class I had at JJC, my advisor put me in her class, but I should have read her ratings first because non of my friends had her. Very boring, somethings wrong with her, she's always late, never is interesting to the class and her teaching is like junior high to me. BRUTAL with a capital B.

WORST "teacher" I've ever had. She doesn't actually teach anything, just says things that are common sense. Never once used the book, and if you miss a class you have to go to another one to make it up. Don't even think about bringing your cellphone because she goes insane and humiliates you if she catches you. NEVER take this teacher.
It shocked me to see other people's comments about her. She is very loud and colorful, but that hardly makes her 'crazy' or 'in need of therapy.' it's called having a personality. She also seems to know her subject very thoroughly. the class is very easy, and yes, she is very strict about attendance, but really, how hard is it to show up to class?
I have taken Miss Johnson 2x and I look forward to her class. She makes learning fun, is understanding of her students, and is clear of her expectations. You don't ever need the book for her class, you always have to show up and don't ever have a cel phone out she'll freak!
Advice: 1.) Put your cell phone away and be attentive 2.) Talk slowly and politely 3.) "Do it right the first time" 4.) BE ON TIME! No excuses 5.) Respect Miss Johnnie Johnson...and she will respect you back.
Respect her and she'll respect you. Although I was stressed out at times, she made the material very easy to learn. Projects were only difficult when first starting them. She's outgoing and repeats important material. She seems like a hard professor, but as long as you pay attention, get to class on time, and study, you'll pass with flying colors.

I absolutely loved Johnny Johnson. She is very helpful if you need her, she is always in her office. She can be loud at times but thats what i loved about her. Tests were simple! If you are an uptight learner/person i suggest no taking her class.
Johnnie Johnson is a nice instructor, she makes class interesting and provides study guides. However, she takes pride in the fact that she is a Behavorial Specialist but seems to have a problem keeping her own behavior in-check! You definitely know if she has a problem with you because she goes out of her way to make it apparent to everyone!!!
"put an asterisk by it" is her catch phrase. She is a behavioral scientist who forgets that her own behaviors can, and are, observed and processed. She is firm, but sweet, and creates a confusing environment over what is right and wrong. She is low energy and trusting. She seems pro GLBT and came off a little anti-middle eastern
So easy. All you do is study guides for every class. No homework and she lets you out early most of the time. We did one research paper which was so easy that i got 100 percent on it!! All you have to do is study the study guides and youll pass. Shes alittle crazy too

Was it necessary to have the class view "Crash" TWICE (!) for the term... A cliched choice to begin with for cultural diversity, but professional laziness is inexcusable.
Treats class like it's junior high. Attendance is mandatory, yet she is late, dismisses early, and takes LONG breaks daily. SOC majors: AVOID! You will learn nothing. Constantly qualifies herself ("I'm a sociologist) and is condescending. Always behind on the syllabus and lectures are random at best. What a waste of my time and credit hours.
She is always late to class. She can't teach too well in lecture, she gives you handouts and makes you "asterisk" whatever she thinks might be on the test. She rambles constantly, and is very high on herself. If you ask questions she dismisses them as she "has not enough time" and her tests are abysmally easy. AVOID if you want to learn.
She means well and it is an easy class if you can put up with her. Attendance is absolutely mandatory. She wants you to participate but I was scared of her most of the time. Guided notes, average tests, no homework. She wanted everyone to know her power. Nice lady if you stay on her good side
She is a woman who deserves respect. She is very smart and could teach anywhere. DO NOT DISREPECT HER! She will help you if you ask for help. She comes off hard but think about it she puts up with crap daily. deep down she is a sweetheart who really cares if you do. read the chapters and use the guides together. you will need to for the exams=hard
Requests respect & NO cellphones, other then that she has a well defined curriculum that will make it easy.Very knowledgeable in both Sociology & Comparative religion.
She's very passionate about her job and expects everyone to feel the same way. Her teaching styles seem to do nothing. Her tests are VERY difficult. You MUST put A LOT (I MEAN ALOT) of time into her class in order to pass
She acts like she knows it all. Can't pronounce words right. You have to attend all classes. Tests are easy if you study. Her voice is annoying. Never ask questions she will never answer it. She talks over you. Your research paper must be in baby text so she can understand it.
Don't get me wrong she is a very nice lady and is willing to help you! But all she does is talk, and she gives no homework so i have no idea if i am learning the material, and if you fail one test it will be hard to pass the class. She gives guided notes so you don't have to read the entire chapter!
I'm sorry, but I've taken several teachers here & I didn't really care for her. Came off as rude and unapproachable. Sometimes starting stuff with students that just wasn't there. Didn't feel like I learned anything. All the lectures were repetitive and the same. Very knowledgeable, just not intrigued by her personality.
let me start off by saying, Ms. Johnson is an excellent teacher! she is very uplifting, and makes sure her students understand the lesson(s). she is hilarious, never a dull moment. i most definately reccomend her to others, but i must say she does have a smart mouth so she isnt for weak minded or sensitive people, no offense. No online grading system, it's all manual in your notebook. Easiest class ever. Just pay attention and read the packets to get an A. Don't slack off on your paper.
Ms. Johnson is very interested and very knowledgeable about what she teaches. She makes it very clear what will be on the tests, and notes are to the point. You do NOT need the book. Sometimes she rambles and her voice takes some getting used to but she has a good sense of humor and she's nice as long as your phone doesn't go off. Take her class!
Do not take this class. Not only was the entire semester confusing, but it was useless. We were always off topic, never used the book, and did not learn anything useful. Throw your cellphone in the garbage before class because even if there's an emergency Ms. Johnson is not understanding. DROP THIS CLASS.
She's a really great teacher, she knows a lot about the material and she loves what she does. Her comparative religion class was super easy, and she gave a lot of extra credit points for little things. Don't bother buying the living religions textbook, bc you won't use it at all.
Amazing teacher, very helpful and straight forward. Attendance is mandatory and she has a zero tolerance for cell phones! This class is so fun, tests are easy and she makes it so interesting! I highly recommend her!
I highly recommend her class if you are thinking of marriage & family. We Never used the textbook, so I don't think you really need it. GO TO CLASS! NO CELL PHONES! She's hysterical though. There was never a dull moment in her class. I loved her!

SOC MAJOR SPEAKING: Attendance is mandatory. Other than that, the class is a joke. Literally and figuratively. Professor Johnson is hilarious! You really have to get used to the way she talks. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK! Her notes are crystal clear. If you don't pass this, it's because you didn't go to class. Super simple. Almost everyone gets an A.

This teacher is hilarious. She respects her students and sees the importance of teaching that normal teachers do not see. Attendance is MANDITORY. If you don't miss a single class all semester you are given extra credit at the end. Only major assignment is the research paper that she basically writes for you. No homework. DONT BUY THE BOOK.

I think she was awesome! Just always be ready when you go to class, her attitude can get a little rude but overall she is very nice. You will go to class and go over what is going to be on the test by annotating and highlighting what is in the notes she gives you! She also loves giving candy,animal crackers, and extra credit!
She is hard to understand, her lectures are long and she does go off topic, tests sometimes don't correlate with her lectures at all and she doesn't use canvas and doesn't update your grade online, she doesn't help you unless you see her in her office hours

Professor Jo Johnson wasn't the greatest, but you have to sit up close or else you're not gonna be able to understand her at all. The class was soooo long. Alot of packets and she helps you get the main info for the tests. She never uses Icampus, so you have to project what you have and need to pass. Somewhat funny. DONT BUY TEXTBOOK! Just study!!
She assigns an unnecessarily complicated research paper, with strange formatting and is very unclear of how to do it. She is also very loud, and sometimes it seems like she doesn't listen to you and avoids what you are asking/saying. I would never take her again.
I liked that she was honest the 1st day and advised everyone to return their textbooks, because she would provide the handouts needed for class. She is a straight forward teacher, which I appreciated since there was no guessing as to what was expected in class, grading, and for tests. Read the materials, participate and do the work and you'll pass.

She doesn't use icampus. She docks or elevates your grade based on attendance. The 1 1/2 hours are comprised of her solely talking loudly about arbitrary nonsense that will sometimes regard sociology. She does have study guides and the book is not necessary *DO NOT BUY THE BOOK*. Very annoying, unhelpful, and rude on a one on one basis.
She was an all around good professor, but I never knew what was going on. I didn't even know my grade in the class. She never warned you about the upcoming exam or if anything was due for the research paper. If you don't have that paper printed you WILL fail.

For being a cultural diversity teacher she has taught me that teachers can be disrespectful also towards students! Not clear on giving directions for assignments. I had an excused doctors note and she still didn't give me credit for my attendance even though I was there all of the other days. Does not listen to what other students have to say & doesn't let you get a word in.
Her grading scale is not fair. For instance if someone is sick she simply stated DO NOT COME TO CLASS but then you won't get the points for not going. She is unclear with directions & she believe's that she is always right no matter what the situation is. She doesnt tell you your grade & she dowant know how to add up the points correctly.

Where do I begin with how bad of a teacher she is! First off attendance is everything even if you're dying on your death bed with a doctors note you lose a letter grade & she miscalculates your grades & she doesn't teach anything you watch dumb videos & unclear with all the assignments
