Mr. Bell is a better than average techer. He talks way to much! Because of that we fell behind on some of our assingments. Sometimes we would start things only to have him change his mind on the assignments. But some of his stories and views on the world are worth it if you can get past his ADHD like behavior. You will learn and you will laugh!

WOW! This teacher is really crazy! He is funny and knows things that helped me write and he also made me like writing. I always looke forward to his class especily when I had crap day at work.If you have to take this class make sure its with him because he wants you to think he's a jerk at the begining but its only to scare you into working hard.

i like this class because it doesn't seem like he's teaching we just have fun. but you suddenly realize you know a lot more about writing than when you started. some students compete for his attention though and that can get wierd. the class changes vibes a lot from happy to hurt feelings it all depends on who he pays attention to that day.

I learned a lot about writing that never gets covered elsewhere.He doesn?t use a text,so make sure you come to class.If you push him, you?ll find yourself without any fingers, but if you ask nice, he?ll probably do anything for you. Just remember to bring a stapler?ha, ha, Mr. Bell!

his teaching style should be adopted by all other teachers. he lectures like one would converse. he's down to earth and teaches from experience with out inflicting his way of thinking because "if we all wrote the same literature yould be boring."

I had no interest in Literature before I started Mr. Bells writing class. I did not read books or even like to read. We watched many films, wrote engaging reviews and hept a journal. We also had to read a book and do a review. We also had class presentations. Mr. Bell made Literature fun and interesting. Reading is fun Thanks Mr. Bell

This class was like everyone said it was,a fresh breeze after all the bad classes I had to take. If you have to take writing 101/102 at Pima take it with him.

Mr. Bell is easily one of the best teachers in the field of writing. He teaches you to be true to yourself, and emphasizes writing that captures your target audience. His real world experience helps you understand what is required in the world of literature and journalism. If you have the opportunity, take any of his classes. Don't miss out.

Not what I was expecting when I took this course.A skinhead liberal who rides a Harley.Super nice guy though. Reminds me of a bartender who's had every job in the world. You'll learn a lot in this class and he is an easy grader. Once you learn a little about him he's scary so don't cut a lot and try to BS him.

I agree with the other posts here. This teacher has a fun class and you learn a lot even tho when I first saw him I was scared. After my car broke down and I couldn't get to class he bought me a bus pass so he's cool. Some of us think he's Kaiser Sose. Not your normal english teacher. Highly recommended.

If you are easily offended.... DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Otherwise this class was so much fun and I learned more in this class than I have in any other. If you show up to class and do the work (which is really easy) you will get an A... really cool guy

Jon is simply the best. Regarding "easiness" I checked the middle box because learning through his method depends on what you bring to the table. The more you bring the easier his class. Jon truly cares and will work with you.

Very impressed with this class and the teacher.He was nonstop high energy and spent a lot of time letting us rewrite our papers and helping us.I never got much out of writing classes before this,but I did learn a lot in this one. Also he runs the class like a comedy show so you might as well chill and enjoy yourself.

Mr. Bell was definitely one of the most engaging teachers I've ever had. If you show up and do the work (which isnt alot by any means) he will give you a good grade. He can be a bit overbearing but he means well. I actually learned in his class and how often can you say that?

Mr. Bell is AWESOME. By far one of the best teachers I've ever had. He really cares about his students & honestly wants them to be able to learn. He's one of very few teachers where something sticks with u. You do have to actually go to class...but it's interesting & a fun environment. If you'll just put forth the effort, u can easily get a an 'A'.

Started with Mr Bell in Writing 70 a few years back and then took him later for 101 and 102. He claims he only covers what works in the real world so there is a heavy stress on tricks of style and rhetoric. I have to say I think of him whenever I use a strategy he taught me which is almost every day at my job. Thanks Mr Bell!

On top of the fact that it was very educational and useful, this class was absolutely therapeutical. I had never taken an English class that was so efficiently taught, and at the same time provided ways for me to solve my real life issues through writing. Overall, I would highly recommend his class to any student!

Mr. B is the best teacher I have ever had!! I do everything I can not to miss his class. Not only is it easy, it is fun, too. If you are looking to attend Pima, and you have to take a writing course, do everything you can to take his class. You will not regret it!

By far the best Writing course Ive ever had! Taking his class was so much fun and everything taught there is useful in everyday life. He doesn't teach grammar like most professors, he believes that we all know grammar from reading and talking and instead teaches rhetoric techniques to make essays more interesting for the reader.

This class was not that easy. The teacher was a lot of fun though and I did learn a lot. No one falls asleep in his class!

I had Mr. B for 100, and just finished his 101 class. I made changes with my work schedule so I could be in his 102 this summer. He is unlike any instructor I have ever had, he explains everything clearly and accurately. He gives plenty of time on assignments, and most importantly, he makes it fun. You can't ask for more, I recommend him to all.

Mr. B has to be the best instructor EVER!! Not only is he HOT, but he's funny and makes things so easy. Not only would I recommend him to people, but I already have. If you like a teacher who doesn't color in the lines, teaches outside of the box this is your man. Show up to class, pay attention, do the work and you'll have a great time in the class. I took him for 100, 101 and now 102.

I have him for writing10 and will probably take him for more.Everyone should have a dad like him.He is cold when it will push you to your best but then gentle when you cant do more.The best teacher I ever had in high school or college.

Mr Bell's taught me what I needed to excell in every class I've taken since. Every paper I've written since his class has been an "A" paper. The rules that he gave me, keep it simple, showing your reader the story, helped me to exceed the expectations of my other instructors. I recommend him to everyone I know who needs to take a writing class.

Mr. B has always been there for anyone who is truly interested in keeping up with the class. This is my third semester with him, and am very sad that I will not be able to have him as an instructor anymore. Recommendation for him as you writing instructor is very high! He's the BEST!!!

Mr. Bell is one of the GREATEST writing teachers I've come acrossed. He makes the class fun, interesting and entertaining, you don't even know you're learning it's that fun! He knows you have a life outside of school and understands when things come up, which I really liked about him..he's human. Take Mr. Bells class!! :)

Mr Bell's class Wrt 102 Rocks! He explains with extreme clarity. He makes learning interesting and fun. he puts a lot of positive energy and passion in his work. I recommend this professor to any and everyone that needs to take wrt 101 & 102.

I absolutely hated writing before this class. Mr Bell gave me the encouragement I needed to succeed in writing not just for his class but for my future in academics. I would seriously recommend him as a teacher to anyone taking writing.

This professor channels everyone from Satan to Churchill, his class is hilarious. You never know what will come out of his mouth next and you learn about writing too. This is probably the most unique class and teacher Pima has.

I knew this class was going to be different when we got the "shake the world with your words" assignment and he told us he wasn't kidding that we had a better chance of changing the world than we did of winning the lottery so why not give it a try? I am really glad I took this class because the teacher has been there, done it, and still cares.

Bell's 101 - was an awesome class. He cares about his students and wants them to do well. Passionate and personable; I was entertained as much I was educated. Be prepared to discuss your thoughts and feelings. I liked it so much I went back for 102.

This class was online and an hour long meet in class. Attend class, do all your work, and give insightful thoughts while in class and online post and its an easy A. One of the best teachers I ever had! I wish he was teaching a higher writing class. Plus, we watched a lot of movies and who doesn't like movies? Take him if you can!

I took Mr. Bell’s wrt101.My expectations were low because I believed this would be a total bore. WOW! I was wrong. by far Bell is truly one a kind. He truly made me enjoy writing.I was so inspired that I took his 102. This one was a blast! Talk about exploring writing with a modern and historical twist.

This was an online class that met once a week. We read and watched films that challenged us to wonder if there is a soul mate for us and if there is do we want to pay the price. We also looked at ideas about true warriors and rebels and the romantic rebellion. So many good movies and readings and he's not just funny, he ties it all in to real life.

great teacher took 101 and 102 with him and learned a lot of great stuff I would have never explored before his class go to class do your work and you have no problems don't go to class or do your work you got a problem he is not hard he is good and will open your eyes to so many things in real life I would take him again

this was a fascinating class and not just for the material covered.you will learn a lot about writing that you can use later. the teacher is pretty intense and it is watching him that makes the class so interesting. bell's comments and facial expressions in class can be hilarious. he makes it easy to learn and works with you on all your assignments

i thought this would be just another course i had to suffer through but nope it stretched my brain until it snapped. we looked at true love, the romantic rebel, the warrior's code, and the cost behind modern life. then we watched some comedies about love!

Jon was so great! He was so funny and really helped students get involved during discussion in class, I was only in his 8 week course, but I almost wish I had taken the full 16 week because of how much I liked the class :) If you're going to have any writing teacher, this is your guy!!!

LOVE Mr. Bell! Took him for 101&102. He's funny and loves his students. Do the homework & you'll pass. Papers aren't dreadful like in usual classes because you get to talk about yourselfsomething you care about. I would recommend him to practically everyone. Jon Bell is a wonderful professor. He is really helpful instructor, also nice and kind. He will help you if you need help and even on his time off. You won't get bored in his class because he always brings his senses of humors into the lectures. He is also clear on the grade. My writing get improved a lot. You won't disappointed in his classes. :)

Overall, great instructor. Some things may be difficult to follow, though he is available to answer question, help you understand, and maybe give you a witty remark or two (all in good spirit of course). He teaching style is a little more difficult than what may be expected, but it is totally worth it!

This is the most amazing class I have ever taken. The professor is funny, passionate and totally unpredictable. I always think this isn't real that it will turn out to be some kind of reality tv. He is simply amazing! If you are in his class, you will never forget it!

This teacher likes to talk a lot and sometimes get off subject. He made the class more interesting to learn by watching different videos, stories, and of course his lectures. I learned a lot from this teacher because he made the class interesting instead of it being boring. The essays were easy to write and he gives good feedback.

The professor is unique. Part of the time you have no idea what he's talking about. And part of the time you suddenly get it and wonder what you missed when you had no idea what he was talking about. He is very funny and kind. Like no other class you will take at Pima.

Hands down the best instructor and easiest class of my college career. Get ready for awesome discussions, jokes and a breezy semester. The whole class was discussion and film based. We had a few mandatory films to watch and write about but its literally about 300-500 words of your opinion. If you're reading this, TAKE HIS CLASS!

You won't always see the usefulness in his lessons, but months later you'll realize how your writing has changed, has improved. Also tells great stories about his life and his previous students ( no names are given). Even if you don't enjoy the content, you will pass, as long as you do the work.

I took him for both Wri101 and Wri102, and I never regretted it. Wri101 is a little harder that 102 cause you'll learn ( relatively)"new" content in class, while 102 is about applying that knowledge. Wri 102 may have a lot more essays ( don't freak, they're really easy) and discussions (which can get heated), but it is a lot of fun. 100% Recommend

LOTS of movies to watch every week you go to class sit there and listen to him talk for a few hours then go home. you don't have to participate in the class discussion if you don't want to its not mandatory. the assignments are easy. you don't really learn anything that's probably why his class was so full because of how easy it was. funny guy tho

This was a great course, with an even better instructor.

Best at Pima. I had Bell twice (101 and 102). Day one, I thought he was brilliant. As class went on I disliked him, as I am very black and white and struggled to get the point of most things, especially as he loves to tell stories. As the semester ended something clicked and I knew he was brilliant again. LOVED my second semester from start to end.

I took Professor Bell for 102 and he was quite wonderful. I still remember stuff he taught me about writing till this day and I took his class back in 2019. Take his class.

Professor Bell's 102 class was great - his teaching style really stuck with me. Use the free textbook, attend lectures, and try tools like ChatGPT and unstuckstudy for study prep. Definitely a class worth taking.
