Lots of material, but if u take good notes in class (lectures can b dry, but a good/nice prof) and follow the study guides, you'll do well. Just memorizing stories mostly, and gives up to 6% EC(yes, PERCENT!). I studied and got an A. Uses old midterms,too

So monotonous it was funny. I did enjoy hearing some of his takes on the stories, though.

Don't buy any of the books. For stories I didn't know, I bought the beautiful children's book "D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths" and it seriously does a better job than the real books, and easier to read (way cheaper than all the books too!)

This class is the epitomy of easy. Just go to class. He feeds you all the information that is going to be on the midterm and final, it's a 300 level class with absolutely no writing assessment, what could be easier than that?

Wow that class was easy! As long as you GO TO CLASS and take notes the tests are cake. Pay attention to the spellings on the names though, he tries to catch you on the tests.

Professor Biligmeier is one of the nicest professors that you will ever meet. He has a great sense of humor, it is dry, but if you don't get his sense of humor, that's too bad. There is no reason for anyone to get a bad grade in his class.

This prof. is amazing. If you need an upperdivision for lit. take him. Very helpful. Gives E.C. (6%)to help raise your grade. Not many people fails his class, because its oo easy. Test are matching and fill ins in his lectures about the stories of the god

Knows his stuff. Tests are easy, but detailed. Lectures and humour are very dry, but taking good notes is critical.

Professor Biligmeier is one of the best & nicest professor that you will ever meet. He has a great sense of humor. Please do not leave/graduate school before taking a class with him! I cannot write enough about him he is GREAT!!!!!

He is a great teacher. A little monotone, but he has a great sence of humor. He has a broad range of knowledge and makes the class really interesting. I def. reccomend this class/professor

He's boring as hell, if you go to class and sit their and listen you can easily pass. Don't think you can learn it all from the book, the book is very brief and his the tests are on exactly what he says. GO TO CLASS.

He is one of the nicest professors! You can tell he loves what he teaches. If you participate in the conversations, you'll discover that his class is actually fun! He is a very fair grader and gives lots of extra credit so if you don't get an A, you are not trying.

You could probably take this class without buying the book. Tests are multiple choice or matching and if you get the handbook and take notes, you'll have everything you need to do well. One report requires minimal research - a trip to a museum. This is a great GE option - highly recommended.

If you go to class and have a little common sense you'll have no problem with him.

Dont bother buying the books, the tests are on your class notes and the handbook. Your grade is based on the midterm and final plus if you do the extra credit paper. Easy class to pass just bring alotta coffee cuz his voice will get to you!

Easy class, just listen to the stories and generally know relationships(all on study guide). This semester he was way easier, no paper, only 2 tests that were relatively easy. Also gave rare extra credit. Midterm wasn't that bad and final was a breeze. Good teacher, funny stories, and great with students. Take his class.

This guy is great but boring. He goes on and on but if you need help he is very helpful. You can tell he likes what he does and cares about his students. It was boring but hes a great guy.

Very fun subject. Very clear and always willing to go over anything you have trouble with. Kind of scary that he only had 2 grades for the whole semester, but offered E.C. that helped. Show up, take notes, ask questions and study, All necessary, but not really difficult. Fun, but can't predict grade.

Extremely boring class... Monotone voice. Grade is based on midterm and final, and he gave one extra credit assignment. I should have dropped the class before it wasy too late... Very boring, cant predict your grade. However, it is not hard to get a good grade. He is just very boring and monotone.. Very unorganized lectures, jumps from topics...

The bottom line is this, I came to his class only 4 times the whole semester, 2 of them to take the midterm and the final and i managed to pass the class with an A. An Unbelivably easy class. Just make sure you go over the study guide before the midterm and the final and you'll pass, oh and there is a short paper which is easy too.

Every lecture is like story time. Remember in kindergarten after lunch, the teacher would read a story and everyone would fall asleep(nap time). This class is exactly like that, but we don't get to lay around on a carpet. Maybe someone should suggest that to the Professor! Loved the class.

Lectures can get boring at times, but very interesting material nonetheless. Exams are pretty straightforward, but there's a lot to memorize. If you go to lecture everyday you don't even need to do the reading. Recommended GE.

GREAT teacher! Really passionate and knowledgable about classical greak mythology. Lectures are fun! Midterm is a little difficult considering the fill-ins, Final exam is all objective...was EASY for me. Just take detailed notes, and read the assigned readings before class to help you understand and remember the material.

He is a really nice guy and obviously wants his students to do well. Very knowledgeable in his field. His lectures are pretty boring but if you can suffer through them and study with the provided study guide you will do very well in his class.

His class wasn't the most exciting but it was well worth taking. If you actually listen, you'll learn a lot. As for grading, he's really easy. The tests are straightforward. Everything is on the study guide he gives you.

This a great professor to take for this class. One midterm (fill in the blank/matching), Final (multiple Choice) and an extra cresit paper. Great prof. he has a really mundane, one tonal voice but he tries to be funny. He gives study guides, study those and if you attend class, the tests will be much easier.

If you don't do well in this class, you are just dumb. Come to class everyday and take notes on his lectures. Prior to the midterm and final, he will give you a study guide and explain what he will test you on. Study that guide extensively and buy his green quickcopy book for $2. He's a laid back, easy going guy. Great guy to talk to.

This class is pretty boring because of his monotone voice. He is a nice guy but it is very hard to sit through the class. You only need the green packet, the other books are worthless! Theres a midterm and a final...nothing else! Just study the study guides he hands out EXTREMELY well and you will do fine.

No books needed, even if he says buy them.He covers all the test questions in his lectures. Very good professor, just pay attention and take good notes! He's one of the best professor I have ever taken and would not recommend anyone else except him! He is THE BEST! Two tests and he counts the highest grade for your overall grade. Easy!

Sweetest, nicest, easiest, most laid back professor ever. His classes are totally stress-free... much like story time in kindergarten.

I enjoyed this class and teacher. His knowledge of Mythology is fantastic. He gave out study guides and the tests were straightforward. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs a GE credit and doesn't want to worry about a heavy and uninteresting workload.

2 tests. drops midterm if u do better on final. no paper. i love greek mythology so everyday was like storytime with note taking. pretty chill. take good notes. study them here and there or cram the day before the tests. you're gold.

No HW, only buy "Myths of the Ancient Greeks" and use Handout Booklet. Both very useful. Lectures can get boring with monotone voice, could use more visuals. Mid-term VERY DIFFICULT (multiple choice/fill-in), Final easier (all multiple choice) & counts as final grade if higher than mid-term. Professor knows his stuff, would recommend. STUDY!

Very strange guy, but he is very intelligent and knows lots of facts. He tends to be disorganized in his lectures and often will go on long tangents. He is at his best when hes telling stories though, try to keep him on topic and it'll be fine. Midterm was take home, easy final, no HW at all. Very easy class for upper div. GE

The most unorganized professor ever. He does not remember where he left off or bring the slides. He uses an assistant to grade the midterm because he is lazy. He has the audacity to criticicize CSUN for not paying for his assistant for doing his work

Very nice old grandpa. Knows alot, a bit disorganized. Teaches myth like a math class and like it's fact. Teaches completely from notes. You miss a day, you're screwed. Buy only the green leaflet. I didn't even crack the books open. SUUUPER EASY!

Loved this class!! very interesting!! very thorough in his lectures and helpful to students. There are two tests, one midterm and one final, both easy. No homework, extra credit is avialable. Attendance is not mandatory but definately recommended if you want to pass. He's a great professor, by far my favorite class at CSUN.

Great professor, very nice and always add more students than the allowed limit. Only 1 take-home midterm which is very easy if you take notes,Final is 100 MC and he would give out a lot of answers beforehand so it's even easier. CLAS 315 is by far the best and easiest GE class I've taken. I wish I could take this class with him over and over again.

Come to class every day and take notes, and you will do well. Easy class. He is a great story teller, and makes the myths fun to listen to. Buy the green booklet, no textbook needed. Great class to use to fulfill GE requirement. Highly recommmend.

wow...hes awesome, his class was interesting & i loved the stories he told. he has a funny sense of humor & treats everyone equally. theres a 400pt 3-5 pg museum visit & 100 ques final. The final is quite difficult if you dont study at all but passable if you go over the study guide. Got a B+ in the class & probably only knew half of the answers.

and i dont get how that person who commented a few months, complained about the midterm....it was TAKE HOME. RELAX

This professor really knows the subject. Grading is only a take home midterm assignment cumulative final exam. My advice is to write down about the figures that are in the syllabus and study the green booklet for the final. If you're there every day, you have a good chance of doing well.

Smart guy with sense of humor but so low key you may miss it. Monotonous speaker, not always well organized. To do well on final, attend class, take notes. Textbook not needed. Midterm was easy take-home essay. Provided study notes for final. Focus on names and places. If you can't get an A in this class the problem is you.

If you are looking for a break in your schedule take him. This is an easy class. One take home midterm, one 3 page paper, and a final.

Easy class. I skipped half the time and I'm not worried. Take home midterm. Had to buy a bunch of books but didn't touch one - that sucked. It's tempting to skip but if you put it a good time of day, you should try to go. He's hard to listen to because he's kind of monotanous but he's pretty funny so it's alright.

Professor is funny, but doesn't have much organization. Take home midterm and final. Tended to leave at the beginning of class to go get tea or coffee and wouldn't be back for 10 minutes. Other than that it felt like storytime with my grandfather and it was difficult to focus on taking notes.

Really easy class. You honestly don't need to show up, since everything is easily google-able. You DON'T need to buy The Odyssey or any of those books- if you must, go to the library. No homework, no attendance grade. Just a take home midterm and a take home final.

I love this prof. His stories were great, and he even talks about different locations that they supposedly took place in. One day I hope to travel to a few of them.

Nice guy. He basically explains all the information in story/myth form. Sometimes he seemed bored explaining the myth - take detailed notes the questions on his exams can be very specific. Not all questions are google friendly for his 2 take home exams so make sure to listen to what he says. Midterm was short answer - final was MC and much easier
