I took his class twice because i dropped out the first semester. I loved his style of teaching, he was clear and gave us relevant information about our government. I loved his class. He gave me an A.

This is a good teacher. He teaches the important parts of english that truly useful in writing and are things you will need for the rest of your college courses. Ever since I took his class, I have done very well on term papers, using the things he taught. Very easy going and really seems to care about the students.

I found learning under this teacher enlightening. Even though this was not a history course, he focused on making us think about how history is taught in our grade schools, and the lies that exist in those textbooks. Though the course was heavy in history, it was intellectually stimulating, and I found it to be quite easy.

Jon is strict with attendance, you definitely need to be in class and on time to stay up to date and enrolled. The work is pretty easy if you pay attention and do the work. But if you are struggling and you show that you are reaching out for help, he tends to cut breaks. This class made me a more well rounded student and prepared me for a UC

Hes really simple and fun to work with. Its my first year in college and he said attendance means a lot and I haven't missed one day and I was taught well in class about a refreshment of my next course. Will consider taking him again for another classs.! #TeamDrinnon

This guy is an awesome teacher. Yes, he is intimidating and tough but if you come to his office hours he knows you are invested in passing his class. Discussions were always interesting. HE actually reads your papers with great detail so make sure youre not turning in crappy work!

Do not miss a day when taking this class because he will kick you out after 2-4 days of absences. There is a lot of summaries and essays but in the long run, you do learn a lot. Also, he is very understanding if you put an effort in his class. Take notes of how he wants the essays to look like! And do the packet work bc it will add up!

Mr. Drinnon is a good professor. If you wanna learn and not just get an easy pass he the way to go he will work with students and provide them with help if needed. He does take his time in reading the essays and gives you good feedback.

Jon Drinnon is one of the best professors I have ever hadif not the best. He cares about his students and leads incredible, interesting, and productive class discussions on assigned readings. Any student who has an opportunity to take his class, should. It is NOT easy, but he wants his students to do well, and he does everything he can to help!

Took him for 2 semesters. He opens up your mind, its more than just an English class. Gives you clear instructions and good feedback.

Jon is one if the best English teachers I've ever had. His lectures are super interesting and he helps you a lot to develop your critique, essay skills, and reading. This class is super easy and straight-forward; there's a lot of readings and annotations you need to do but it's not hard, just time consuming. If you complete them and turn it in you'll be fine. He isn't strict about due dates and he accepts late work. He wants everyone to pass his class so he isn't lenient at all. He's super nice and helpful.

Prof Jon is the most supportive teacher. He cares about his students and he is passionate about the subject matter. I love that his class was focused on social justice. I learned so much from the required reading. He helped me become a better critical thinker and writer. If you do the work, you'll do well.

This class requires a lot of reading and multimedia to be viewed in order to submit weekly discussion posts (1-3 discussions a week). However, the information from your discussion posts can be used for your essays in this class. So while it seems like an overload of assignments, it all comes together when you have an essay due. Overall amazing!

Gives really good feedback, you will do well in the class if you build on his suggestions. He sets up the class discussions, usually around 3 per week, so that you may use them for your essay when he is done covering a certain topic. There is a lot of required material you must go over but he gives his students adequate time to go over the it.

I like to be in this wonderful class and not only because it is a requirement for my AA, but for all the knowledge that I received with my language, my writing skills and also help me to think critically. I will take English 5 with him again, even though it was very challenging for me, but I want to continue learning.

Prof Jon is a great instructor, he accepts late work for full credit, offers extra credit, and grade assignments right away. There is quite a bit of reading, what you read will be useful for discussion post assignments, and essays. The reading material is very interesting which simplifies discussion post assignments and essays.

I took professor Jon's class 2020 Fall semester which was my first semester in the U.S. Throughout this course, I learned MLA format for the first time and how to write an Essay using this format. This course was extremely helpful as my first semester to learn how to write properly and he gives video feedback which is also really helpful.

Throughout discussions, you'll learn and understand the thoughts of historians with the material professor Jon provides and prepare for the essay you'll be writing as your mid/final exam. He provides really good feedback and extra credits on your writings so that even if you fall behind at the beginning, you still have many chances to keep up.

Prof. Drinnon is a great teacher to take. If you show that you’re trying your hardest and actually do the work, he’s very fair with grades. It’s a lot of work and lots of reading but as long as you do the work you’ll pass his class no problem. He’s very kind and helpful if you’re struggling at all too

Proff Jon is one of the most dedicated teachers I have come across. He teaches english and writing in such an applicable way and you are guaranteed learn a lot more than just english by the time to finish his class. He gives useful feedback on all of your work and comments on everything you submit with detailed notes. BEST PROFF EVER!

I'm currently a high school student taking this class and I have to say it's a little hard but doable! He gives lots of extra credits just for writing a good discussion, but beware you shouldn't slack off, otherwise you'll be very behind. He also gives feedback through videos, so that's helpful. Other than that at one point, I managed to get 111%

Please understand there is always reading in any English classes but his readings are informational and eye opening. Every module is set up with organization & with resources for you to understand & to achieve a good grade. His resources for essays are also very helpful, I would take any class he teaches again!

Prof Jon is THE best professor I've ever had! I'm a high school student taking this class along with my other classes and Prof Jon is so understanding and gives plenty of time to do work. He doesn't dock off points for late work & makes sure that his students learn from his class! I learned so much from his class and I will continue to take him!

Prof Jon is extremely caring and dedicated to his students success. I took his asynchronous critical thinking class and I can definitely say my writing fluidity, structuring and college level formatting have all increased since taking this class. All late work is accepted, however when turned on in time there is very useful feedback given.

Although there is a lot of reading, the class is very nice. I took his asynchronous English 1A class, and it was very organized. There are many opportunities for extra credit, you can get extra credit on any assignment. I personally found his class compelling and engaging, He gives constructive feedback and is in touch with his class.

What a fantastic experience! Prof Jon gives helpful and detailed feedback on assignments. There was a good amount of reading, but I think the workload was very reasonable for an English class. All of the content was connected and engaging.

Prof Jon is the only one who recorded video responses for students' assignments . He offered extra credit assignments, but I don't need that because my grade was already over 100%. If you do the homework and take the feedback he give you, you will learn a lot. he cares about his students. by the way English is not my native language.

Professor Drinnon provides exceptional video responses to understand where to improve. The work can be time-consuming, but they are always educating nonetheless. He is quick to update grades and offers lots of extra credit to make sure his students do well! The modules may be difficult, but you become more aware of real world issues.

Professor Jon is an excellent teacher, I highly recommend taking his classes. The homework all year can be used to build your essays which makes midterms and finals so much less stressful than other classes. The material we read and source from is VERY interesting, enjoyable, and relevant. He offers a lot of extra credit and is flex on deadlines.

Professor Drinnon was an amazing professor although we had no required meetings! He is extremely understanding and the work is fairly doable. The work can become overwhelming and stressful at points if you fall behind, but you are able to pace yourself through the course! You also learn a lot of valuable writing lessons and details about topics.

This course descriptions are detailed, he made it clear what you need to do and how you can do it. He is incredibly hardworking, often giving video feedback on assignments, he starts working very early in the morning. You always get quick feedback on your work. you have more than 10 extra credit opportunities..

Discussion posts are worth 50% of the grade. He is VERY lenient with late work. Generous grader. keep up with the discussion posts and you can end the class with a 115% grade. Be creative in the discussion posts (which have very relevant discussion topics) and you'll get used to getting 14/10 on your grades.

The course has at least two discussions posts every week, and two major essays for the whole semester. Prof Drinnon makes it clear he doesn't want to fail anyone, and gives relevant texts and reading which were interesting. He gives a ton of extra credit opportunities and consistently gives EC in discussions. Great and understanding Professor!

He was amazing and generous professor on giving an extra credit. If only i could take his 5A but his class gets full so fast. If you wanted to really learn on proper writing an essay, he will be the best choice you could have

Professor Jon creates a supportive learning environment. The class has useful extra credit and flexibility on deadlines. I found unstuckstudy and the free course materials very helpful for staying on top of the workload.

Prof. Jon is great. He grades quickly, responds fast, and gives video feedback, which helps build a strong connection with students. He's strict about properly introducing sources into your writing, but once you learn it, it sticks. There's multiple readings per week, 30-50pg articles. I took both ENG1A and ENG5 with him and had a great experience.

Really great professor, I took his critical thinking course after taking his 1A class and loved being in both of them. Has 1-2 discussion posts every week and it can sometimes get to be a lot of reading, but his guidelines and rubric are clear and listed in every assignment so you know exactly what to aim for. 100% would take again if I could.

Prof Jon makes his expectations clear in the beginning of the course and as long as you stay consistent with your work the class is enjoyable. There is a lot of reading so its important to stay on top of it but everything is set up in an organized way that you know what to expect and he gives video feedback for almost all assignments.

I really lucked out taking this class with Prof Jon. I picked his class blindly and I definitely made the right choice. It's a lot of reading and a lot of discussions, but the material is very interesting. Nice guy and best of all he gives great feedback and does so in a timely manner which helps the student to succeed in his class.

Pretty easy class, occasional essays but mostly reading and discussions; about 2 discussions per week and reading/videos to go along with it. Some weeks it looks like theres a lot of things to do but its just reading and instructions so don't get stressed. He does video responses to discussions and essays which is pretty nice. Lots of extra credit!

Professor Jon is the only right choice I made in my life lol. Please take his class but only if you like reading and watching 1 hour videos. He offers A LOT of extra credit opportunities so if you are hard working, you'll get an A easily. He is very kind and chill. I liked his english c1000 class and I would take any other english class he teaches.

A genuine teacher that educates you both in history and english. His assignments are thorough and extremely educational, and very lenient with grading if you put your efforts in. Your writing will significantly become better if you take his class seriously, and is worth taking. He gives amazing advice and comments on work. 11/10 professor.
