Profesor Ewing is one of the most knowledgeable, interesting and helpful professors I have taken. He is open-minded, encourages student participation and very encouraging. He is beyond fair and thoughtful and even opted to not give us a Final Exam, but rather a notebook and paper the week before Finals so that we could spend time on other subject

One of the coolest instructor. His class is fun and full of knowledge. Feel free to contribute because he always encourages. An easy "A" if you take religions seriously. Short journals, short tests, a short presentation on a worship center visit, also a final paper instead of a final test are all that required. His teaching style is unique.

There are no exams, just quizzes (which requires minimum studying and listening to lecture), journals (he wants to know more about you), group project (he grades fairly easily), and a final paper (again, grades fairly easily). PLUS, he is SUPER HOT. My goodness, I get so distracted in class because of his amazing body and adorable face.

I had him for Spring 11'. He is very helpfull, polite, explains material, answers to emails, nice. We only have quizzes, which counts like tests, so do good on those. We have a group project, and a final paper. Licen to lectures, take notes, you really dont need a book, but pay attention and look at his slides for extra info. I do recomend!

THis class is very easy, as long as you do good on the quizzes and the journals you will do fine. Also he has a group project that is SUPER EASY. The final paper you have to write is really simple to. I loved every minute in this class, I couldn't wait to go. Also this professor is good looking too, I got a little distracted. But no biggie.

I enjoyed going to world religions more than I did government and I'm a history major, that says something! He teaches a little different than most teachers would, many group discussions, lots of videos which i'm not a big fan of. The group assignment is abosutley fascinating! Took Professor Ewing class for Summer 1. Very Easy. Discussion Board prompts were only three and he gave 6 quizzes which you literally can pull the info from the power point slides. Book wasn't necessary to purchase. A copy was available in the library. Got an Easy A. The only gripe might be the worship site project instead of final. PLAN AHE

Professor Ewing's class was one of the easiest classes I have taken so far at Richland, but I learned a lot as well. His lectures are very interesting and the whole class pays attention as he talks. Also, the worship site project was very fun to do instead of an exam.

I love Dr. Ewing! Such a sweet man. His lectures are always interesting. I didn't even purchase the textbook and I made an A in the class. All of the work comes from the PowerPoints and lectures. He's a great professor! I really enjoy showing up in class. The class environment and lectures are full of enthusiasm and interesting facts to learn. Was going to wait to actually finish the semester before rating Ewing, but he is just such a great professor. Very helpful,and makes class easy and engaging. Participation really matters though, I'm usually one of those people who says nothing at all in class and he got me to discussing every class topic. Would take any class with him teaching.

Professor Ewing is a great professor, his lectures are very interesting, and you will learn a lot about the religions around the world. There are quizzes over each religion, & he gives a review for the quizzes. You have one group project where you visit a religious worship site, & have a final project where you do a video overview of a religion.

I took this course as an elective (online, flex-term) and thoroughly enjoyed it. While there is a lot of reading... you could perhaps get away with not having a textbook. Provides slide-notes and very clear on what is required. A handful of tests, two worship reports, and discussion boards. Easy A if you are willing to put in some effort.

Course is primarily structured around student perspective on major concepts covered in each religion. Lectures cover brief history of each religion and provide insight on core concepts. Assignments and quizzes are simple and straightforward. Overall, great class to take if you're into contemplating human existence. Ewing is a pretty cool dude,too.

I took his class in the Fall semester of 2018. He gives really interesting lectures that do not bore you. The way he explains things are easy to understand and hes an overall great person to be around since hes very knowledgeable and his an easy going person.

Dr. Ewing is so caring and kind. He takes time to know his students and to understand our backgrounds if you are willing to share. His classes don't really feel like classes, they feel like a really interesting conversation with a friend. There is a lot of discussion in his class, so be prepared to make some amazing friends!

I took Phil Intro to World Religions online during Summer. Fairly easy class just do your work on time. About 6 timed quizzes, discussion post, and final Worship site video. The class itself was easy, just the basics of Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism. The textbook was very helpful during quizzes. Easy A

I took the Intro to World Religion and honestly, it was a fun class. If you are interested in philosophy then you will learn something. Does he grade on grammar, yes! But this is college, if you cant spell, use commas or capitalize correctly then maybe its time to revisit and English course for an elective instead. Good luck.

I had Ewing and Matter in a philosophy, and english learning community and they may yet be the best two professors I have ever had.

Took his summer world religions class and consisted of 6 timed quizzes ( 5 short answer questions ), 3 discussion boards (2 questions and responses each), 2 journal entries (super easy), online field trip, video project ( Worth 25%) Hes a very tough grader, takes off points for the slightest things on grammar. Takes a while to email you back

I absolutely loved this class, it opened me up to multiple cultures and traditions that I was unaware of. I would love to take the course again. He allows about 3 absences, and appreciate if you let him know that you won't make class in advance.

I recommend him. I am an ESOL student, but his class clear and easy if you study the book and his power point lecture. Almost the grade depends in 2 basic things: discussion board 4, and the worship site report. Other than that 4 test not too hard, if you read and some times it comes from the PP(not always). So fair when he is graded.

Professor Ewing is kind, genuine, and relaxed. Took his joint class w/ Prof Matter, who's also great. Both want to get to know you. Classes are usually lecture/ discussion based, and he leaves room for questions. There are sometimes pop quizzes at the end of the in-class reading, but if you pay attention you'll be fine. He's engaging &amp; thoughtful.

discussion-based class so participation is a big part of grade. gets you thinking a lot. no real assignments except for a few small journals and a worship site report. final wasn't bad either. the major thing was talking about philosophy and religion. easy quizzes, cool guy. has guest speakers come in also. definitely recommend.

I took this professor's World Religions class over the summer as a flex term. It was very easy, you had to read the textbook and do discussion boards. You have to give the discussion boards some thought but it wasn't too hard. The hardest part was the worship site report, which was easy, just time consuming as you had to make 10 min video.

Great professor. Follow due dates and you'll be fine. Very interesting class and you can clearly see that Prof is passionate about what he teaches.

Prof Ewing is a tough grader, especially regarding grammar errors. Most of everything in writing, including the tests (short-answer questions). There is a project at the end, which makes up a quarter of the total score. There is no extra credit!

This Professor was Awesome! Class was super easy! I finished with a 96%. The class has several discussions. 2 Journals. The assignment that took the most time was the worship project, because I was having tech diff., You will learn in this class. you will need to use the book for the online quizzes,, the powerpoints helped a little.

I took this class as a summer classes; it was all online. Everything that we needed to do was outlined in the syllabus. He also gave us links to his youtube lectures to help us better our understanding of the religion we were learning about. There were no tests but there were journals and discussion boards. so if you do the work you will succeed!

This course was definitely challenging for me but professor Ewing was very communicative when I was struggling with some work. He answers his emails pretty quick and sends alerts when assignments are due. He never fails to comment on completed assignments and is very respectful. His assignments did require a lot of reading so come prepared!

Because of my personal views of religion, I thought I would struggle in this course. Despite this, Professor Ewing was welcoming & had a nonbiased viewpoint of my stance. I had Prof. Ewing for PHIL1304 during summer 1 and genuinely loved the class. The only assignments were 4 quizzes, 2 discussions, 2 journals, and 2 project-type assignments. He was super understanding when I turned in an assignment late for a good reason. He's not a tough grader, but just put in the effort and read the material and you'll be fine.

Assignments were easy. Textbook could get boring, but you only really need to know the main points. For tests, I would just open the textbook and search for the terms. If you have a basic understanding of at least the Abrahamic religions, and I mean basic, this will be a breeze. He is there to help you with problems, just email him.

Prof Ewing is truly an exceptional educator. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his subject, and he truly makes every student feel seen and welcomed. He is thoughtful, wise , and clearly enjoys what he does. Overall, he is an amazing professor.

professor ewing's world religion class never failed to make my day. professor ewing lifts up each and every one of his students with not only his resounding intellect and insight, but with his genuine kindness and compassion for his students. he clearly knows what he is teaching, yet his class is never boring and always engaging.

If available, take his class! It's an easygoing class. Prof. Ewing is knowledgeable, patient, and polite. 1 group project, 2 journals, 4 quizzes and 1 final project (video). Interesting and fun class.
