Good: Dr. Skalski was an amazing professor, he knows the material, cares about his students, and goes out of his way to help and support them in their success. Bad: Lecture heavy, skipping just a day can be a big problem for exams, so attendance is 'required' but not graded.

Honestly, the class is very interesting! A few helpful tips tutoring will help out so much in this class just go to at least all the test prep sessions. My only complaint is the weighting of the paper in the class, with this not being a writing class I was a bit shocked to have a paper ending up being 24% of the grade.

Overall I would recommend taking PSYCH111 from Brother Skalski. He is humorous and makes principles easy to understand. There aren't too many assignments outside of the tests but many opportunities for extra credit.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the test and quizzes I felt like they just tested your skills of memory and then you didn't use much of it in class. This was my favorite professor of my first semester. His lectures are full of detail and very interesting; he is easy-going and super nice. Going to see a tutor for this class every 1-2 weeks helped me a lot. There is so much to learn in this class and the tutor will help summarize everything you need to know for exams/assignments.

He is an awesome professor and really cares about his students and material he teaches. All his side tangents are interesting and usually make me more interested in the lecture.

Jon Skalski is an amazing teacher, he was able to deliver a wide range of topics clearly and precisely, and if a student was confused during the lecture he wouldn't hesitate to pause and answer the student's questions to their satisfaction. He did not show bias towards student as he made sure that everyone had a fair chance to ask a question.

Brother Skalski is awesome. You can tell that he genuinely loves teaching, psychology, and the students. He can sometimes go on tangents and be a little scatterbrained, but overall I enjoyed him as a professor. This class is pretty test-heavy so keep that in mind if you're taking it as an elective.

His personality is my favorite and you can really tell that he is an advocate for your success. Other classes I feel like I am fighting the professor but with Brother Skalski, it feels like you're fighting together.

My best advice would be make sure you attend class because it is very lecture heavy and a lot of the test material is based on the lectures and not the textbook. His adult development class was really good, one of the best psych classes. The stuff you learn is relevant to your life and relationships. His class is not ultra structured which I liked.

Bro Skalski was an amazing professor! This was my first semester of school, and his class was one of my favorites! One of my harder classes but totally manageable. Some people ask tons of questions in class and that was a little annoying at times. I would suggest going to the tutoring center before the tests or myth assignment for extra help.

Brother Skalski is an engaging and purposeful teacher. The class is mainly focused on learning via class and textbook, but the only assignments are two major ones and a bunch of quizzes with about 4 exams throughout the semester. A low-stress way to learn, with many aids to help you ace the exams.

Wonderful teacher! Attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't attend you will fail. It's not the easiest class so you need to stay on top of assignments, tests, quizzes, announcements, etc. Teachers' assistant library and Professor Skalski are great resources. Attending lectures and taking notes are what make or break your grade.

I really enjoyed the class (PSYCH 111) taught by Bro Skalski. It really brought me a greater awareness of the human mind. I recommend you have the help of the tutors and all the practice quizzes that have been made. The textbook was free for the course and did provide crucial information, but it needs a filter to apply what's really on the exams.

Psych 111 is supposed to be easy, but if you bomb the exams then you won't get an A. I didn't really read the online textbook, I just Ctrl-F to find the info I needed. Go to class, do the assignments (few), and use the reviews/kahoots/jeopardies to study for exams. I used those for the final exam and did the 100 questions in 26min, got a 94.

Skalski is a great teacher! He adds the gospel so naturally and makes it fun. There is an online textbook and it is helpful, but he doesn't bring it up much. He does go off on rambles but overall as long as you pay attention and are willing to work the class isn't bad. I would recommend.

Amazing teacher, one of the best I've taken. Brings the gospel into the class in the most natural way I've ever seen. Yells "amen!" in class and has everyone follow. The only complaint I have is that the class was honestly too easy, I probably should not have passed. I would definitely take him again.

The professor was beyond excellent! Every day he was super engaging and excited to teach. I grew so much spiritually in this class as well as intellectually. Please take Skalski!!

Holy cow, this was an amazing professor. Not only reachable outside class (gives plenty of plugs for his office hours) but he understands his course is difficult and does his best to help you remember what he teaches. This class had a LOT of students (around 150) but he did his best to learn everyone's names and gave plenty of chances to learn.

This professor has a very engaging lecture style that helps you retain information through different scenarios and other things that apply to you personally. He conveys information clearly and helps prepare you not only for the test, but for future success in life.

I enjoyed Brother Skalski's class a lot. He is entertaining and loves his job!

I liked the way Brother Skalski taught! He truly cares about his students and gives interesting lectures and deepened my perspective on how I see others and myself. I think general psychology is just so broad and so I struggled at times because of this. Overall I truly did enjoy his class, I would just recommend taking his class in the afternoon.

Brother Skalski is an amazing professor. He is truly one of the most passionate people I know about what he does and about each student individually. His optimism is contagious and he makes class a very enjoyable experience as well as a spiritual experience. If you have the opportunity, take him for a professor!!! You won't regret it.

Brother Skalski helped me learn how to study better, and inspired me throughout the semester. He connects the material very well to the Gospel, which helps you to learn it better, but also is spiritually nourishing. He is a humble teacher, a fair grader, and a good friend to his students. More professors should be like Brother Skalski.

Brother Skalski is amazing! He is more interested in how the content will bless your life and help you be a better person than just memorizing useless facts. You do have to work hard but the course is set up for you to succeed. Brother Skalski makes psychology so fun, entertaining, and you can tell that he loves the course and his students.

Brother Skalski is amazing! I took his PSYCH 111 class this fall 2025 semester and learned so much that I could apply to my own life! He gives solid extra credit, and his class is set up in a way that if you put in the work and study well, you will always succeed.

I really enjoyed his class! He teaches what he can in a one hour lecture, that being said this class requires a lot of studying. Definitely hard, but he gives grace points. Overall very entertaining class, he is so easy to learn from, entertaining and funny. I recommend going to tutoring once a week before exams to prepare!

I loved Brother Skalski's class, he applies psychology to his teaching to help students learn. Furthermore he applies the gospel of Jesus Christ to Psychology. He shows very genuine care and love for students as individuals, is super funny, and has a great mustache. I am going to miss this professors class because he is just so fantastic!!!

Professor Skalski has a gift for teaching in a way that really connects to you individually. He makes the material personally meaningful in your life, and it makes it a ton easier to learn and love to learn. If you need a bright spot in your day, he's your man.

He keeps the classroom alive! He makes it a fun learning experience. He really cares about his students. His test are not bad, if you go to tutoring. Life is so much easier if you go to tutoring for this class. I learned a lot of life lessons in this class. Brother Skalski will always help you. I really enjoyed this class.

I LOVED taking this class! Brother Skalski is awesome! He is clear with his expectations. The class wasn't too hard and Brother Skalski is always on your side. He has a bunch of office hours where you can meet with him about anything, not just class related stuff. He wants you to succeed. I would take this class from him again in a heart beat!

Professor Skalski is the best professor I have ever had. You can tell that he just wants you to succeed and he cares about you and your well-being over a grade. He accepts late work instead of pressuring us to get it done fast. He makes completing this course as easy as possible, all he asks is that you put in the effort. 11/10 would recommend!

It might seem difficult at the start, but with effort and dedication, you will see progress.The class is pretty interesting and you will learn a lot, but you have to study.
