GREAT teacher! knows his stuff and loves to teach. Great sense of humor. Math is hard for me, but taking him made it much less painful. He is always available to answer questions if you go during office hours.

You have to work hard in his class and earn your grade. He is very good at explaining at all levels of skill. Fair warning, do NOT try to pull a joke on him and bump into him when he is holding hot tea.

I took the 5wk summer class. He is always very active in lobby office hours. pretty laid back. quizzes are pretty easy. tests are much harder but since he is so clear in his teaching methods, you can still do well as long as you consistently attend

The man is a legend at MHCC, and for good reason. He will work with you until you get it, and tries to find alternate ways of explaining things so that anyone can understand the material. That being said, I do not recommend taking him on a 5 week summer course unless you have time to visit him for office hours.

John is super funny! even though he teaches math a subject almost nobody looks forward too he really is fun in class and makes sure everyone in class understands. there was homework everyday but nothing crazy, just basically lots of problems about what we had learned in class that day

I took Linear Algebra from Jon and he made it as enjoyable as possible. Had homework due every class from the book. Tests were straight forward and allowed 3x5 notecard on final only (not midterms). He's very funny! Grading is forgiving, but I had to work my butt off to get a B. You will have to work hard for a good grade. Ask questions and study!!

He was a very good teacher, hilarious. I took the class at 7:30 in the morning Monday through Thursday for five weeks and he made it fun. It was definitely not boring. His style of teaching is very easy to follow as long as you pay attention.

You get in-class worksheets every day, & he goes over every problem and takes you through the worksheets step-by-step. I learn a lot from him and he is always walking around the classroom asking if anyone needs help. Only 2 tests plus a final, and not much homework.

John is an AWESOME teacher! I love him, he's honestly one of my favorite teachers of all time. It's a straightforward class but only if you come, so DON"T CUT CLASS and you'll be fine. Jon is a very tough grader but he makes class fun. During class you mostly work with your table group doing worksheets. Definitely take his office hours into consideration. He does not offer any extra credit so make sure to do well on all 3 exams!!

I cannot stress enough what a great professor he is. I took him for 3 consecutive classes and would've taken him for 111 but his classes fill up fast. I thought I was bad at math before I met him; but he explains things thoroughly, is always willing to help and I got A's every term with him. Great teacher! Answers all questions, always available to help you, makes class entertaining. HW is given daily, and expected to be done next class period. Classwork is mostly completing worksheets, going over HW, and doing practice problems. Overall, this course isn't too challenging if you attend class, pay attention, and do your HW!

I took John's MTH251 class, and he has been my favorite math teacher thus far. He's great at breaking down complex concepts into manageable chunks, and he incorporates a lot of humor into his teaching. He's also very available and helpful outside of class and will work with you if you have to miss a test day. I'd recommend John for any math class.

He's probably the most popular math teacher in the school so not much more to be said. My personal experience with him was great because my friends and I would spend a lot of time in the math department studying for tests or working on graded problems and Jon was almost always there to check in on us and make sure we weren't struggling.

I've always struggled with math. I failed Algebra 4 times in high school and practically gave up on math until I had Jon as a teacher. I have never understood numbers so much in my life. He makes things fun and easy to understand, and really takes the time to explain things to each student. If I take any other math classes, it WILL be with Jon.

It feels like he really cares about how well students do in his classes and wants to make sure everyone is understanding the subject. He always makes sure he's available to help students in or outside of class and explains things in a way that's easy to understand. I wish I could take this professor for every one of my math classes!

Professor Spindor, is a genuine nerd and he is dedicated to his students. He makes it clear when his office hours are. He takes time at the start of class to go over HW problems and is humorous which makes the almost 2 and half hour class bearable. One of the best instructors I've ever had since grade school. Honestly cares about his work and puts in an incredibly amount of effort into everything he does. Jon was an amazing calculus professor. I had him for MATH251 and MATH252 and he always made an effort to prioritize his student during his office hours and will make sure you understand the concepts. Math is a difficult subject for me, but Jon has a way with getting you engaged in learning from his videos that makes the problems click. All his lectures had videos and great instructions on how to go about your homework so you don't feel overwhelmed. He had office hours 4 out of the 5 days. I had Jon for MTH 251 & 252 and he was by far the best math teacher I've ever had. He is an extremely capable, patient, and helpful instructor. Calculus is a challenging subject but Jon is always willing to go above and beyond to help each one of his students succeed. Keep an open mind, take notes, and go to his office hours and you will be fine.

Linear Algebra and vectors were a subject I had struggled with in the past, but Jon made learning the material very enjoyable. He has all of the lecture material online, if you missed class or if you wanted to double check your understanding for a topic and that was very helpful for me.

One of the best math classes I've taken! If you don't understand something he is absolutely willing to talk to you outside of class hours and really ensure you understand it, not patronizing. Even if your questions are a little outside of the scope of the course he can sometimes go off on a tangent about it to answer your question!
