Mr. Stamm is a great addition to the sociology dept. His class is fun and you get to argue points. I would reccomend him to anyone. Not bad to look at either!

This guy is so hot, I thought about changing my major! He is a great professor and I really enjoyed his class and teaching style. He makes it fun and interesting too.

no need to buy a book for this class. he tells you so also. instead you have to buy a different book like $27 where there are 7 readings and you have to do a one page paper on 5 of them. his tests are easy if you memorize the notes...which he gives you. takes attendance. and lectures a lot but also allows a lot of participation. good teacher.

Everything on the test is from lecture and readings. You don't even need a textbook! All I have to say is the class ROCKS!!! Lots of laughs too!

he makes the class interesting, likes class participation, wants to know who you are by the end of the class so make sure you answer some questions. papers are easy to write, dont miss class as the tests are ALL on notes that you take. some people dont use the text. i did after taking exam 1 and getting a C on it!! A's followed. P.S. hes hot!!

Contrary to what he said, you don't really need the textbook. Just look at a friends book and read the sections 10 min before the begginning of the class and you should do fine. Easy class

ONLY time u have to study the book is for a few quizzes so no need to purchase it if you can find someone to share it with, STUDY ALL OF THE NOTES HE GIVES U IN CLASS, don't write down everything he says, i literally mean write down EVERYTHING he writes on the board, study it, and u will ace the tests! he had some wacky ideas, fun debating with him

Very simple, straightforward professor. Just pay attention, take notes, and speak up once in a while. All the notes are on the board. His sense of humor and discussions makes it easy to stay tuned in the whole class period.

This class is sooo easy. Just take notes and study them and you'll do well on the tests. You only read short sections of the book for about five in-class quizzes, so you could definitely get away with borrowing a friend's. Interesting lectures, too.

Interesting lecture, moderately difficult tests. Take good notes and you've got it made. He's a fair guy. You need the book for the 10 or so quizzes he gives (easy). I learned a lot in this class. I would recommend it.

I took this as a 4 week summer course and it was pretty easy. I bought the book but I didn't even open it. As long as you go to class and pay decent attention, you'll pass the class.

This class is reall entertaining. Professor Stamm makes it interesting. YOu only use the book for quizes he gives ever so often. If you study the quizes and the notes for the unit tests ... you will do great .. he's very nice looking too :)

he was an awesome teacher! i will take him as a teacher again if i can! the only problem i had was with his one point quizzes but he is very down to earth and funny. Take this class you will enjoy it!

Take his class! He makes this class so much more interesting than I thought possible. He's definitely amusing and you learn in the process. You'd be stupid not to choose him.

one of the best teachers ive had...not that hard you only have to read the texts for tests which are a little tricky(pulled a d+;prob cuz i did study that hard)..but overall id take him again; has intresting topics and young enough you can relate 2

Took this class online. good teacher, easy grades on essays. Only complaint is tests are over a lot of material and no study guide.

Stamm is a good professor. So long as you take notes on what he lectures (he writes everything on the board), you will probably do fine on the tests. He mandates attendence (sort of) but he has virtually no homework. This is the easiest class Ive had yet. Would definitly reccoment.

I took this course online. Stamm is a good professor and assignments are very clear. I found the tests hard, but did not fully apply myself. I managed to pull off a C+ in the class. Sociology is simply not my cup of tea!

Well for starters he's frickin GORGEOUS! I just wanted throw him on the desk and make out with him = ) He's awesome and you will get a good grade as long as you write down everything he writes down for notes and remember everything on them. You will do fine on your tests! Promise. He has one point quizes and you really need to read the pages given

Obviously enjoys his job and has INTERESTING lectures. Great teacher and makes this class easy. Basically show up, write 2 papers, take 11 one pt. quizzes and 3 tests and you're done. Plus, he is FUNNY.

Good teacher, Got to pay attention and take notes but he is good at what he does. Funny at time and down to earth. I recommend him to anyone needing this class. Just study for the tests they make up your final grades for the most part

He is a great teacher, and he loves his job. Lectures were very interesting, tests were easy, and I actually enjoyed going to his class. Highly recommended.

I took this class online. It was moderately easy if you kept up with the schedule. The material was very intereseting to me. The class consists of reading a chapter or 2/week, posting on a discussion board and writing 2 short papers. The tests are open book but timed. Looking up all of the answers is NOT possible. STUDY!

If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to remember every list he writes down--chances are, its on the test. You need to know his lists to the T. If you change the wording in the test, he will mark it wrong. You do that, read the for the quizes, and do the mere two writing assignments, then you will with out a doubt get an A

john is a cool prof. He's kind of stoic at times but he too is kind of funny. tests are multiple choice and short answer. He does't believe giving handouts so you get what you deserve. because the notes he gives you in class are all you need for the tests. subtheorie and lists are most likely to be short answer questions

Stamm is funny and a good guy. Quizzes are either right out of the book or off the hand outs, not hard at all and article questions aren't too bad either. Tests are a little bit hard but if u take good notes you'll do fine. Overall a pretty good class

This class is incredibly easy. Stamm is a wonderful public speaker. He explains concepts using plenty of examples to clarify everything. There is very minimal effort needed to maintain a good grade. Only a few small writing assingments and some very fair quizzes.

Super easy class. If you study your notes, and that's all you'll have, then you are sure to pass with flying class. You can't fail unless you don't look at the notes. A few short quizzes throughout the semester that weren't hard at all. He's a great instructor and if you fail his class I can assure you it's nothing he's doing.

This class is pretty easy. There are only 3 tests though, not including the final. So you have to study for the tests, but it is exactly from your notes. You have to study for the short quizzes though. You have about one a week but if you do bad on them they will bring your grade down a whole letter grade. Pretty cool class though!

Great teacher! Doesnt cut any breaks without documentation; so dont mess up or skip class. All tests are based off notes in class, if you do miss, make sure you copy the notes from someone! All quizes were from the book. Fair at grading, and always willing to explain if you dont understand a concept!

Overall fair. His online lectures are pretty precise to what to study for tests. No practice quizzes, but the time limit for gives you plenty of time to search for answers (open book). Other than than there's a couple of discussion posts to do and you pick which 2 out of 3 essays to do. Fairly laid back class! :-)

This is one of the best teachers at ICC. He straight forward gives you the info you will need to know for the test. if you take notes when he lectures your going to get a A. you will need the book for quiz on the pages he gives you, so he's great not to mention good looking, and we have nice discussions if your taking soc 110 i suggest taking him

I thought his teaching methods were fantastic. Class attendance is necessary because his tests are over his notes, not the book. Clarity is a big deal for him I think, he's pretty straightforward. no extra credit but in his class you probably won't need it! i love sociology.

Prof. Stamm is a great teacher! His lectures are interesting, and his quizzes are pretty easy. I understood the material very well, and actually enjoyed a subject that I'm not really too interested in.

I took this online and Prof. Stamm was extremely organized and easy as long as you tried to do the work. He had our grades posted promptly and was a very good communicator. I learned a lot and would take another class from him anytime. :-)

Stamm is a FANTASTIC teacher. Tests come directly from notes so attendance is a must! no extra credit opportunities but as long as you listen to him its not needed. He is very straight forward and fair. There are never any surprises. Would take any class if he taught it!

He's beautiful. Whoever said he is not a helpful teacher is wrong. He is the best teacher I have had at ICC. He's soo good at teaching and his class is very consistent. Easy quizzes that constist of only about 4 questions each. Tests are right off of the notes. I have a 98% in this class and I barely try. Rarely any homework either! Take this class

Anyone who has a problem with Professor Stamm is lazy and just didn't want to do the work. Tells you right up front what he expects and tells you exactly what you need to know.

Easy class as long as you take notes in class and study. For tests memorize lists because there are short answer questions that tell you to list up to five or six things. Class is either really interesting or really boring.

I found the class really boring, but Stamm is a really good teacher. His quizzes are easy A's,just make sure you read thoroughly the chapters they're over.

Mr. Stamm's tests are based off of the notes he takes in class so it is important you attend. He was really interesting. You only use your book for the quizzes and it's based off of only a small section of the chapter.

Very good teacher, the class is easy as long as you go and take notes. For quizzes no key terms in sections assigned to read and for exams know notes, especially lists. He is also very easy n the eyes!!!!

As long as you show up to class it is so easy. He doesn't put the notes on blackboard so you have to come to class or have a really good friend who copies word for word. Quizzes are really easy and the final exam is over the 10 quizzes. I'd request him for soc!

Class is based on 100 points: 2 writing assignments, 10 quizzes, and 4 tests including the final. You have to write your own notes, which can be difficult. Final is made up of questions coming directly off of the 10 quizzes, super easy.

Stamm is an incredible teacher. He has reasonable expectations, he is consistent & predictable. His lectures are very interesting. I didn't want to miss his class. The quizzes aren't hard, & even if you have a few bad grades, you can bring it up. I started with a "C" & he worked with me, said I had a slight change & I managed to end up with an "A".

Great teacher! As long as you take notes and pay attention you will have no problem getting an A in his class. Also, He is very handsome!

Tells you everything upfront about what the class is like and is all about. I should have studied harder but missed my "B" by 2 points. No extra credit!

This class has a very minimal work load. Teacher is friendly, helpful, and considerate. Hardly used my book. I recommend him and would take him again!

Easy course. We had a few online tests but they were open book (obviously). They were timed but I never had a problem hitting the time. If you take notes on what he says in the lectures (he references pages/things to look at) then you are golden on the tests. Also, he announces what's due every week which is incredibly helpful.

Awesome teacher and extremely easy class if you make the effort to take notes. All the tests were just the notes in question format and the quizzes were easy and short as long as you read the pages assigned. Always had the tests graded within a day and posted grades to blackboard fast. Also super friendly, I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Minimum homework, minimum tests, minimum class discussions. Only bad part is if you don't do good on his tests then you won't do good in this class. I was 1 point away from receiving an A in this class which is a bummer. Test are timed and there are 50 questions for you to do in 45 minutes.

Great class. There isn't a lot of homework. There are 3 test that make up the majority of your grade. The test were 45 minutes long and consisted of 50 questions.

I found this class very enjoyable. Prof. Stamm makes the class interesting. I was in a very large class, so there were no pop quizzes , just tests and a few writing assignments. His test were easy if you studied your notes well. It should not be difficult to receive an A in this class.

Extremely easy. 1 homework assignment, 3 tests (the final is literally the tests copy and pasted, and he gives them back to you to study). Lectures can be a bit dry, but overall he's a good teacher. He gives maybe 10-15 pages out of the book for you to read the entire semester.

Ok. you have to do the reading. Only way to do well is to do the reading. If you take the time to read the textbook and do the 1-3 short papers and a few quizzes you should do fine. Took both soc 110 and soc 219. Reading is a must -- tests are based almost fully on the reading. Writing assngmnts are only 1-2 a class and reasonably short. Recmmnd!

Grading based on 1-2 tests, 1-3 quizzes and 1-2 short written assngments. Reading is a must to do well. Otherwise clear expectations. If you take the time to read the textbook and do quizes and writting on time you can get an A. Simple as that. Also a few discussion boards but not too much make work.

He is fair. He clear on expectations and gives good feedback. He expects attention to his class but is not out of the ordinary for course work. He is available for questions and takes them easily and quickly. He has interesting discussions and encourages each student. He has a great sense of humor, which never hurts either!

There are 3 heavy tests throughout the semester with one essay. Other than that, there is no homework. The tests are straight from your notes/ headings, so make sure to know everything in notes or you will fail. The final is super easy, as he took the 3 tests and copied them to final. He has a dry sense of humor, but is a super laid back guy! I

Jon has amazing lectures. The only downfall is that you have to copy what he writes on the board down and turn them into your own notes. He doesn't make you feel stupid when you ask questions. Participation kind of matters. When he asks questions, he will wait until someone answers. Attendance is mandatory or else you miss test information.

Professor Stamm is very knowledgeable about what he teaches. His lectures always include some real-world applications of the concepts hes teaching. The tests are right from the online quizzes and from lecture notes. The class was pretty easy, but was worthwhile.

If you study what is gone over in class, you'll be fine. Also, he gives you the answers to the quizzes after you've taken it, and the tests are just the quizzes combined. He's a pretty nice guy and funny. I had a death in the family more than halfway through the semester and he was super understanding. Responds to emails pretty quickly, too.

A very clear Professor. He states both in his syllabus and verbally what is expected and what is coming. You really cannot mess up if you come to class, listen, take notes and study. He seems very respectful and cautious with his students. I have taken very few classes with a professor as clear and straight forward as he is. Excellent teacher!

. AMAZING LECTURES.

Overall I have a full-time load and this course was light enough that I can manage to focus on the harder courses. Professor basically is a walking and talking book. He explains everything in Sociology and gives examples. When you participate in class your answers will be given thought and he will not throw it to the trash. Overall a great prof.

Professor Stamm made a boring subject very interesting. His lectures are quite boring still, but the questions posed were interesting. I was dreading that class but it was better than I thought it would be. Kinda wish I could go back.

He goes into a lot of detail during lectures and gives good notes and quizzes (at home every week). Everything on the quizzes is on the test, making understanding challenging topics easy. Good at replying to emails quickly and makes sure if you miss class, you know what to study in the book.

To be honest, I was nervous going into this class because when reading through the syllabus, I thought Prof. Stamm was going to be a tough one. I was pleasantly surprised. Stamm knew what he was talking about and was really just a funny guy! He went on a rant about how he thought people should give engagement appliances instead of rings. So silly.

Easy online class IF you do the work. Read the sections assigned and take GOOD notes. Can use notes on tests. There are 2 writing assignments for homework but you only have to do 1. No other actual "homework" besides reading the online text. 1-2 quizzes each week but he tells you EXACTLY which sections will be on the quiz and you can use your book.
