Really enjoyed going to class. He offers to help you and is really clear about what's on the tests. Easy to pass if you pay attention and ask questions.
Mr. Davis is a great teacher, He is funny and sarcastic but very clear on all material he teaches, he is willing to help you out as much as you need. Very fast in responding to emails and makes me actually enjoy math! Definitely taking him for my other math courses.
Mr. Davis is such an amazing professor. I used to despise math, but with him teaching, I love it. He's funny and he always tries to make things interesting. He always goes around and helps out people and answers any questions. If you don't understand something, he'll explain it in a way that you can understand. Best professor I've ever had.
Best math professor ever. Easy A
Mr. Davis is the best professor I've ever had. So far he's also the only professor I've taken more than once. I was a high school drop out who didn't know anything about math. After one semester with him, my SAT math score shot up 300! And last semester I did math honors. I got an A in his algebra & trig classes. What else can I say? Take him!
Best. Professor. Ever. I'm not going to lie, calculus was a tough class for me, but he is always there to help and answers questions with the best answer possible. Take advantage of his office hours. He's sarcastic and funny. He won't just hand you the grade you want, you're going to have to work for it. But seriously take him!
Fun class. He's really easy to understand and pass if you go to class. **Doesn't give exam reviews! But he always says what's on tests.
Mr. Davis explains clearly, asks questions, offers extra help, slows down if needed, and is very patient and enthusiastic. He doesn't review in class, but at least he gave review sheets when I took him.
Dope Professor, his lectures are not boring and he's a funny dude. He does not assign a lot of problems for mymathlab. His test are hard, but math isn't suppose to be easy & he post reviews for each unit. I would definately take him again. Probably the best professor on this campus!
Mr. Davis was awesome! Great teacher, he is very helpful and very clear when teaching. If you need help he is there for you. I would take him again if i could. Test are a little tough but if you study you'll pass. Totally take his class!
Best Math Teacher I ever had. Organized, clear, helpful, and easy on the eyes. Show up to class, the lectures are fair and easy to understand. There are group quizzes that work as reviews + Exam reviews which are very similar to the Tests. He's smart & very helpful, shame on you if you get a C. Would definitely take him again.
I had a 45% average last semester in my College Algebra course. I didn't learn or understand anything. With Prof. Davis I am getting it. He is very good with explaining the concepts of Algebra. I recommend his course and would definitely take him again.
One of the best math professors, took him for pre-cal and cal2 and he's very helpful. He explains clearly, he does give one project during the semester, he give review for the test, his tests are based on the topic he mention in class, also you will need to do homework based on each section (Not hard) AMAZING PROFESSOR!
Great professor, one of the best I have taken so far. He explains things very well, and he is constantly open for questions. Not much homework, 3 tests + final, 4 quizzes, and project. He writes on a tablet and projects it to the wall so everyone in the classroom can see what he is writing. This is something all professors should do.
Mr. Davis is great, I will take him for every math class I need. He's funny, compassionate, very smart, and an all around great teacher. He is very quick to respond by email, and is very helpful when you don't understand. The best professor I've ever had. The only reason I got a B is because I got lazy.
Mr. Davis is the best professor I ever had in Math! I would take him again if I could Lol. He is very helpful, funny and clear. His lectures are never boring, he captures your attention. I recommend this professor!!! :)
If you want to pass ALGEBRA, take him! So helpful and funny! I look forward to taking him for my other math classes.
This was my last semester at Lone Star, but I plan to come back to LSC to take any math classes I can from Professor Davis. He is an AMAZING teacher. If more teachers taught like him, I would have a 4.0 GPA. I actually like math now, after running away from it for the past 15 years.
Amazing Professor!!
I took statistics during the mini-mester, I thought it was going to be tough, but I feel like the way he explained the material and gave examples I understood it very well. He really gives good feedback and always makes sure you understand the concept. Overall I RECOMMEND this professor!
I just finished a 3 week stats mini mester with him, and Professor Davis was probably my favorite math teacher I have ever had. He would try and make the information easy to understand and on top of that he would give us an outline for our tests which were life and time saving. TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT TO LEARN & GET A GOOD GRADE!!
I do not know where to start. Mr. Davis is one of the best teachers that LSC have. The lectures are so easy to understand, even for an online class. He makes sure you know he is there for you! As long as you do your job, you will be fine. I would most definitely TAKE HIM again, and recommend him. Thank you Mr. Davis!!!!!
I would recommend taking him, he just has a very sarcastic tone but he's not being sarcastic. He is a really caring professor and his class isn't hard at all as long as you know your stuff. But I will say his voice kind've sounds like a computer. But overall he is a really good professor.
Professor Davis is one of the best professors I have had. I thought I would have difficulty since I haven't taken math in quite awhile but he makes it easy to understand. You do need to show up and listen to his lectures and he tells you exactly what you will need to know for the test. Take him if you need a math credit! You won't regret it.
Professor Davis is really an amazing teacher who clearly like what he does. He does make several mistakes, but he catches them quickly. Especially since his summer calculus classes are super fast paced, he tries his best to make you understand and is very open to questions. He's also pretty funny and not intimidating at all. I would recommend
Tests are really not that hard obviously you still have to study for them but if you do easy A. The best math teacher I have ever had. I don't like math but I think this Cal class was the exception, and I feel like I actually learn something... Also, I have no idea y other people say he has a sarcastic voice I think he has a pleasant voice.
One of the BEST math professors at lone star! I enjoyed his class. I learned a lot from him. He enjoys what he does and wants to see everyone pass. He tries his to make sure everyone understands the concept he is teacher, but you will have to ask. study hard and you can pass with an A or B. Just have to work for it. Goodluck!
Professor Davis was a super great teacher and I will definitely try to take his classes again. He gives partial credit on every problem and is happy to help with any questions. He also gives reviews that are just like the test but different numbers so you will know exactly what to study.
Professor Davis is a sweetheart. He goes out of his way to help people understand what he's teaching. He cares about all his students and makes sure you get the material you need to pass the test so the reviews are very similar to the test. As long as you pay attention in class, the material is easy to understand.
You must show his or work on the exam to get full credit he is super picky. He's a great lecture but I wouldn't take him again.
Hands down one of the best professors I have had. His lectures are clear and he always welcomes questions. his test reviews are exactly like the test. I would take his class again
I strongly recommend taking this class if math isn't your strong suit because he makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on. He gives review sheets for tests and final. He's such a caring and understanding teacher.
If you hate math, definitely take him! He drops your lowest quiz grade, and replaces your lowest test grade with your final, ONLY IF IT BENEFITS YOU! The only extra credit he gives is 5 points on the final for class evaluation. He gives partial credit on quiz and test, so you can get everything wrong & still pass. Two group quiz, and two online.
This by far was my favorite professor at Lone Star, I've always struggled with math and I was able to get an A in his class. 3 exams and a final, which replaces your lowest test grade. He's hilarious and enthusiastic about what he teaches and makes sure to ask if everyone is understanding/has questions. If I could take him for every math I would!
TAKE HIM!! I took him for a 3 week mini-mester and I still can't get over how easy the class was. 3 exams + 1 final and there's obviously homework. He has "study sessions" the day before the exams incase anyone has questions. He constantly makes sure everyone understands the material.
Dude's legit. Hard course material but he teaches it well.
This man was a real gem. Honestly encourages students to ask questions and can see when you're trying. He doesn't "believe in extra credit," but it doesn't matter because if you do the work and study what he gives you - you're solid. It's not an easy A, but it can be if you practice his materials. STUDY GROUPS HELP TREMENDOUSLY!
Professor Davis is the best math teacher I have ever had. Math is my weakest subject and I did well in his class.
I took this course on line after being away from school for very long time, and I was extremely rusty. Professor Davis's videos were extremely helpful to catch up. He gave test review keys. I fell short of an A due to my own reasons. He gave partial credits. He did not drop any exam, but his grading system helps lot if you do well in final exam.
Hes a really nice professor. Really emphasizes the important things. I was very scared about the project but he saw that I made an effort & took that into consideration. Reviews are great, identical to the exam.
By far he is the best professor in lone stars. I would take him again.
class is nt as ez per prvs reviews Prof. teaches through youtube videos, which he goes pretty fst on the instruction his claims that you can re-play as much as u need. I usd a lot of outsid sorcs to hlp me, grant you I am nt a math person mymathlab is used; reviews r givn, howevr not similr to test exams r 90% w/o calculcul ez discussions Not ez A
His lectures are split into 15 minute videos, which I liked because I took breaks in between them, he even has lecture notes to print out and follow along. He has a really good sense of humor and is always making dorky jokes. I laughed out loud a few times lol His lectures were far from boring and it felt like I was in class learning in person.
I took this class online and he was a very good professor! He does videos that explain the material very well and he will respond to any questions. It was a lot of homework but that's expected, tests are like the review so you won't be surprised. 5 extra point on final if you do course evaluation. Highly recommend!
He is the best professor ever! He truly cares if you are doing well in the class and does everything he can to help you succeed in the course. I highly recommend taking him for statistics!
Took him online for calc 3, posts vids on youtube so make sure you do "playback speed 1.5x" on the settings. explains very well. three tests, two super easy and one hard, but he replaces lowest test score with final and final contains almost nothing of the hard test. 3% deduction per day late of hwk submission (very very good) Will explain well
Professor Davis is a pretty solid choice. He tries to make the dry subject matter interesting in his online lecture videos. His tests are almost exactly like his reviews and he doesn't assign an unreasonable amount of homework like some math professors. He replies to emails pretty quickly and has a generous late work policy. Pretty good overall.
Professor Davis is truly the best professor I've taken at Lone Star. He cares that you actually learn the material and also helps you understand it. He works with you and his office hours are awesome as well. Attendance is important but he understands when you do miss class. just be sure to stay on top of the course load and you should be fine.
Mr. Davice is a Great Professor. If you are thinking whether or not to take Professor Davice, I recommend you to take him. I toke him online and he is very active. Always, responded my emails faster than I was expecting. His video lectures are so clear, and helpful. He really knows how to teach to make the class easier for you. 5Star Professor!
Love this prof! I took him online and he is very energetic during his lectures! His tests are exactly the same as the practice tests, just different numbers. Everything is on MathLab and there is a lot of homework. He is very understanding and always ready to answer questions. Replies to emails quickly. Definitely would take him again!
So I took the 0314/1314 combo class with professor Davis and he was one of the most caring and patient math teachers you could ask for. He genuinely wants all of his students to succeed but of course you have to put forth the effort too. He encourages questions and feedback from his students which is always a good thing especially in math. TAKE HIM
I took professor Davis for May 3 week mini-mester and he was great! The course goes by really quickly but he always showed that he believed in us during the time. Tests are like practice tests and grading is straight forward. He's great! I wish I would have taken him face to face. Take him, you won't regret it.
Professor Davis makes Cal III easy. His lectures are great and easy to follow. You will need a MyMathLab . His tests are easy if you do the homework. His review is >40 questions, but tests are only 20 questions. You can ask him any questions, and he will be happy to help. You will love his class. He makes your life easy. EASIEST CAL III Class EVER.
If math is not your strongest subject, take him!!!! He was an awesome teacher. I was originally supposed to take him in person, but due to COVID it got switched to online. He was so involved with his teachings that it felt nothing like an online class. Super sweet and cares about his students success!!! 10/10 recommend!!!!
Professor Davis gives great feedback despite classes being online and is readily available to provide assistance to students who feel a little lacking, although this might be difficult as the video lectures are well made and the homework content transfers well to quizzes and tests. Overall great professor and class.
The 3 week mini mester was hw heavy but that was to be expected, other than that he is a good prof.
All on Pearson Mylab: lots of HW, 4 quizzes, 3 exams, & final. Taken alongside phys2 during 6wk summer session. uses lockdown browser w/ no webcam. Very quick with emails.
This man is by far the nicest and caring professor I have had during my time online at Lonestar. He truly cares for each student and truly ensures that we understand the material. He never makes us feel dumb when asking questions. He is very understanding and extended several deadlines during the winter storm.
Great professor for learning math and getting A. He teaches pretty solid by his videos and the tests are similar to his reviews. He is such a nice person.
Responds in a timely manner, very caring, and sweet guy. Cons: lockdown browser w/ no webcam. Quizzes for each section. You have to do a reading before having access to hw and each hw question only has 3 attempts on StatLab. Discussions every week. Online seemed like I was in a classroom. If ur just trying to get by this class, choose someone else
If you take his online course he will remind you he is not obligated to be hands-on or help you understand the material. That failing just means you need to try harder or keep trying but without his help. It shows a lack of character when a professor states they are not obligated to "do more than required" when it comes to teaching.
Lecture videos sound like he recorded them inside a cave. He's constantly apologizing in his videos for random noises which gets really annoying & distracting. Ask a question, get back a textbook reply with no clear answer. Since it's an online class, he believes he doesn't need to be hands on.
He doesn't actually have lecture videos posted, instead, it's just "learning" through MyMathLab which requires you to learn by watching random videos that aren't even recorded by him. You have to do word problems to even get access to the homework. Discussions every week. Three modules per week. Once I had a hw problem with 35 parts to one question
Very good! Overall, his class was very fun! He teaches by posting videos on his Youtube channel. I am very appreciative how he answers me emails in a fast way and gives office hours before tests.
He's a really nice guy, but I don't like the way his statistics class is set up. I wish we didn't have discussions due on top of the homework and modules, it seems unnecessary for a math class. He's always willing to help if you're struggling, but be prepared to learn through "view as an example" for almost everything.
If you want to learn and earn a good grade, this professor is the best option. Just do the reviews and understand them before each test. He simplifies math so HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
He's very nice and makes the effort to connect with all his students, even if it's online. His personality kind of reminds me of tom holland lol. The class itself is a lot of work, but doable. He drops one test and one quiz.
I enjoyed this professor, you will really learn how to understand the material. He gives his own lectures so it's easier to ask him questions. He's very compassionate with his job. There were a total of 4 tests, 4 quizzes, and about 34 Homework ( he broke 2-3 down per week). You do have to submit hand-written work for your test and quizzes.
Great online professor!
Great online professor
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I wouldn't even call him a professor, since he did absolutely NO teaching. You have to pay extra for MyStat lab where you'll be teaching yourself EVERYTHING. I took the spring minimester & there are 61 learning modules, 61 homework's, 3 discussion posts, 3 quizzes, & 4 tests in 3 weeks. Be prepared to spend 3-6 hrs daily
Professor Davis was probably the best math instructor I've ever had. Math is not my strongest subject in general, but he made it easy to listen and learn the concepts without feeling completely overwhelmed, especially since this was a 6-week course. There is a lot of homework, but he was available for questions and assistance if needed.
One the great professors you will never forget. Professor Davis explains the concepts in great detail and helps you better understand the ideas behind the homework assignments and tests. If you are looking for a professor, take his class. He is a great professor, and I am very grateful to have been a student in his class this summer.
Professor Davis is an amazing professor and human, but his online pre-cal class is not easy. He responds to emails quickly and gives encouraging feedback for quizzes and tests. He also will drop your lowest quiz grade and lowest test grade, which is good because he is a VERY tough grader. Great class but not an easy A.
Best teacher I've had so far at LSC. He really cares for his students, and genuinely wants you to succeed. Gives a lot of extra credit, and gives reviews for each test. Provides plenty of resources for you to study. You are required to purchase MyMathLab.
Out of the math instructors I had throughout my life, I would say Prof. Davis is the most helpful and kind instructor you will ever meet. He genuinely cares about your learning and is always willing to help regardless if it is any questions or homework problems! Plus, his humor brings the class together as well so I highly recommend taking him!
He is a very organized, kind, and motivating professor. The lectures are long but bearable and helpful. He always answers emails but wants you to solve problems yourself with little help. You need to invest lots of time and nerves to succeed, but it will pay off.
Mr. Davis is so good at explaining the lessons! Lots of examples and practice. He is also quick to respond an willing to work with you outside of class.
He is a really nice professor but I don't like the way how he set up the mathlab, there was only three attempts on each homework problems, some questions on the quiz and the tests are not related what I learned through. He mostly take longer to respond my mail, it causes to lose 4 points every day after the due date has passed.
His lecture videos are really hard of hearing, it sounds like a jet engine in the background, but what I love about him is that he apologies for the noises. The way he attacks hard problems is calming, he diffuses the pressure by being inspirational and caring. He wants to help and reaches out quickly. The test reviews are exactly like the test.
As someone who has always struggled with math, I dreaded having to take my statistic class to complete my degree. However, Professor Davis made the whole three-week class very bearable. Grading was very straight forward and for the three week course your lowest test score and two homework grades were dropped. I would recommend Prof. Davis 100%.
I took this stats class at the minimester 3wk course and it is A LOT of information for 3 weeks of learning. Prof Davis wants you to succeed and he helps out on a lot of things in this short amount of time,he gives extra credit if you go to the tutoring center which you should def take advantage of since you learn so much. Amazing teacher overall.
Helpful in answering questions. Clear criteria in grading. Lots of group activities throughout the semester. Felt he could be snappy at times with students. This was a 2 hour and 10 minutes class, and there were no breaks given, so be prepared to stay awake and energetic (wished he gave one). Do the homework and the exams will be alright.
Professor Davis is an amazing teacher. He cares so much about you passing with a good grade. He gives test reviews which are really helpful. Also, he drops the lowest test and quiz score. There is quite a bit of homework, but, as long as you stay a top of it, you will be fine.
One of the best math professors I have taken. Bro not only gives good lectures, but he also simplifies everything down and will always answer your questions to his best ability. Exams were similar to the reviews he gave and usually did a review day before the exam. Lots of HW. If you aced Calc 2 then this class is gonna be a sip of water.
Always willing to help students understand the lectures. He cares about his students and try to make sure that they are having fun while learning. Class is difficult but if you make sure to do the homework and study for the tests you can pass.
Fantastic professor. He truly cares about your success. Some material is difficult to get the hang of, but Mr. Davis does a great job explaining and he's more than willing to help you out. Tests can be a little difficult because there's a lot of room for error, but other than that I never had any real issues with this course or professor.
He was a great teacher, but he did not provide us with any review for the test
Clear syllabus and entertaining lectures. He responds to emails and gives extra credit for tutoring. Work is through Pearson. Manageable homework and tests. He seriously cares about his students learning and is a great online or in person professor. But you do have to do the work and understand the material for this class to pass.
He makes math fun and genuinely cares about his students; there is also extra credit if you go to tutoring, and he also goes over reviews with the class, which is super helpful. Professor Davis also gives good feedback on tests when he hands them back on how or why you got the score.
If you go to the tutorial you will have up to 5 extra points on Test. Great prof!
He's a genuinely good professor. He cares about his students and really tries to help you understand. He had 3 tests and a project+the final. Homework was due before the test and no textbook.
No complaints, he makes exceptions when he can. Attendance is not mandatory! Calculus is hard so the class may seem unbearable but you get the hang of it with homework and practice. HW is never more than 10 questions and if you go to tutoring in the student success center he gives EC on exams. He drops the two lowest HW, and the lowest exam.
Phenomenal. He truly cares about the success of each of his students, and reguarly can be reached through email for any questions you have about HW etc. Provides a lot of extra credit throughout the course. Drops lost two HW grades & lowest unit test. Provides reviews for all tests + final exam. Great professor, I would highly recommend him.
