This teacher is one of the worst teachers at pace he should be fired, i dont even knwo why they allow him to still teach theclass was about 16 people when it started and 7 people ended up finishing the class.

Math Psycho. Nothing else matters but math and in this case Calculus. Have a Math party - R U kidding? Keeps you past the class time and gives way too much homework. This guy really believes that math should take up every minute of your life.

has the cheesiest jokes about "math parties" and "if a stranger comes up to you and asks you about a math problem". it can get annoying.
Really corny sense of humor. Randomly hard and detailed tests but grades very leniently. Has fascination with SAT words but doesn't spell or use them correctly much (what is that about?)
he explains things nicely but his test can be reall hard at times; you really gotta know all your stuff and you will do well

This professor was the most bizzare professor that I have ever encountered. He doesn't know how to teach. He goes from "point A" to "point D" and then you're "lost". He makes some really wierd exams. I would NOT recommend this professor to nobdy. I even had to make a report about him. I had accept an incomplete grade for this core requirement .

not a bad professor. really helpful, tests are easy and he won't let you leave until he checked all your answers/makes sure you answered correctly. kind of cheesy and corny, but hey, cut him some slack - he'll probs give you a good grade if you make an effort.

Very strange and awkward, but extremely nice. Teaches well, and will always answer questions until you fully understand. Gives no homework, tests are decently easy, teaches everything you need to know.

Despite his quirky sense of humor that is sometimes tiresome, the man knows math and makes it accessible to his students. He really takes his time to go over anything that is confusing and will work hard to help every student who shows effort. He is the best math teacher I've worked with in my academic history.
Knowledgeable prof of the subject. Has some corny jokes and is a super boring class sometimes (started napping and scribbling notes a few times in class) but is between an easy and a hard class. Gives out review sheets just like the exams. So study off of that and you should do fine!

Professor Gersch is very knowledgeable on the subject of Calculus. Please do the homework that he places on the board because they could be on the 3 exams that he gives during the semester. Also, do not rely on the text book he does not use the book. So save your dollars.

He does not use a textbook. Grade is based on 3 exams. A lot of dry humor and repetition of concepts and problems. Copy them. HW questions he puts on board have a good chance of showing up on tests. He allows one page of notes during exams. As long as you take note you will be prepared for his tests. He also gives review sheets. Recommended
One of the best professor at Pace (I just graduated, so I have many professors to compare him to). This guy lives math!
if you do not understand statistics well.. do NOT take him. Tests are extremely hard and unfair and he does not do a good job of explaining the material. no textbook and nothing but scribbled notes on a board that are hard to read
He has a very monotone voice. Homework is not part of grade but if you don't do it, you'll be super lost on the test. He means well and he's there to help but get ready for the corniest jokes ever.
Professor Gersch knows math, but unless you've taken the class before and the material is familiar to you, his teaching can be confusing. Also, he gives review sheets but rarely posts answers. When he grades tests, he never specifies what you did wrong or what the right answer should've been. Class is boring. Do the homework. Ask for help.
NOT FOR POOR MATH STUDENTS! Overall okay professor. There are better but he's not that bad if you get stuck with him. Only has 2 tests and a final and the homework is not mandatory. On the tests he lets you use an index card full of notes. He has lame jokes that you will get tiered of fast. Good luck if you are not god at math.
I love Prof. Gersch. He's such a nerd, but he's such a good hearted person. He constantly makes the same joke the entire semester, but its who he is. I would definitely take him again for another math class. He doesn't want to complicate your lives and will help you if you ask. No Book, No Homework, just wants you to concur.
horrible teacher, no office hours and tutoring center didn't know the answers to the review sheets. in class there is no interaction between him and the students, no practice problems nothing. hard grader and mark is based off only 3 tests. i have attended every class and still don't know anything, not clear. keeps you past class time long lectures
He was good in the beginning, then he kinda screwed us at the end. He went too long in between tests and gave NO in class example problems for the hardest material. First test was easy. Had the 2nd midterm and final within 2 weeks of each other. Not cool. I like him as a person. Not so much as a professor.
Absolutely worst teacher I have ever had! DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK HE NEVER USES IT. you don't get homework and he does not help you at all. You can bring notes to tests but the tests are impossible for the way he teaches. Said that he would try and help you to pass but he gives no extra credit or curves when everyone in the class had failed! SO BAD

Graet Prof! Explains concepts well and clearly, lots of nice examples (and weird humor), cares about all students and wants them all to pass. Go to every class, follow his methods and instrctions, study for tests and you'll do fine!
as a person, he's very funny and kind, but as a professor he's not exactly the best. he's very ambiguous with everything, but maybe it's because it's material i've learned in the past and should remember? Overall, he's a really really understanding and funny teacher but not as good teaching wise
Gersch was a card. His teaching is kind of confusing but he really wants you to know the material and is always open to questions or going over problems, so take advantage of that. He didn't assign much graded material, so study for quizes. Very corny jokes, just nod if he asks you if you "concur".
Does not know how to teach. Goes off on tangents, is extremely slow in the beginning then screws you in the end. No, do not take him.
