Ohh, where to start. well about 85%of his students are sleeping in the class...need i say more! although hst. is my fav. subject, this teacher has made me rethink my likings. he is boring., dreadful, doesn't communicate w/ students. DON'T TAKE THIS ONE!

After getting all A's and A-'s till my junior year I took his GOV 101 class and he gave me a B. Beware of this professor, he lectures the whole semester and no one in the class ever speaks up due to the intimidation level he presents. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY

I dropped it right on time...before his second test...I studied my a** off and got low grade...maybe it was because when he was busy talkin which is really about nothing...he was always looking straight ahead...doesn't let people ask questions...and if you ask he wont answer it...Zzzz I was in a coma

This guy is bad. Do not take him. Trust me I'm a good student but this guy really does put you to sleep. I mean you can walk in their with coffee and he still puts you to sleep. He talks about nothing. He does not work with you, I though he was and I got an F.

extremely boring. takes no interest in making the class the slightest bit interesting. he lacks motivation. all he does is sit in the front of the class and speak for the entire hour and 15mins of the class.

Dear God, don't do this, and DON'T take him. It takes a very special person to take an interesting topic like politics and the presidency, etc and turn it into a hot steaming pile of nothingness. His voice is like nova-cane on the brain. It's just BEGGING you to fall asleep! Takes NO interest in this subject at all. Tests are WAY TOO HARD! RUN!!!

He seems like a very nice guy but takes no interest in teaching. He speaks so low that it is impossible to hear him. It doesn't matter whether you sit in the front or the back. At the end of his class you'll learn nothing except that you've wasted an hour and 15 mins of sleeping time. A definite no go.

Has to be one of the WORST professors at John Jay. To those who say he wants you to learn like a college student, you must not like at all. School regardless of the level is supposed to be fun and interesting. College is a time where professors should have open discussions and have students voice their opinion. He does nothing of the sort. useless

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! All that goes on in class is discussion of current events. He doesn't teach the information necessary to pass the tests. You will have to rely on your two textbooks and then you MIGHT average a C- in his class.

Literally, avoid this class no matter what. if you are a student, who is looking for B + or A and trying to get over 3.5 overall gpa for that semester, you should not take this class. you will be reading 2 entire books and all the test are accumulative, 50 % final. also, there is no multiple choice, you literally write everything single definition

Worst Professor Ever. Get ready to waste an hour and fifteen minutes of your time with his monotone voice that will bore you to sleep and his opinion on politics that will always be one-sided and unquestioned. Tests are definitions and short essays, which are straight from textbook.

Please don't do this to yourself and avoid taking this professor at all costs.

Worst professor ever!!! Attendance is not mandatory, which is good because going to his class is pointless. You MUST do the readings or you WILL FAIL. I wish I never took his class. Get ready for boring lectures and stay up late at night to study.

Hardest class I've ever taken

Avoid this class. This was easily the most boring class I have been to in years. It may be a 101 class, but he treats it like a 300 level course. His lectures do not help at all and you are left to your own devices to analyze the two textbooks and pass the ridiculously difficult tests that you are not prepared for. Never again.

WORST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN! He was all over the place and never seemed to stay on track. Not to mention he made horrible jokes that just made you cringe, was passive aggressive and petty. If you take him be prepared. He gives no homework but his exams have 6-11 chapters each and he is a hard grader. I don't recommend him as a professor!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS !! Your grade is determined by 3 quizzes , the first one worth 20%, the second 30% and the final 50%. The quizzes consists of vocabulary (10 out of 20)and two short answers (youre given 4 options). Everything is cumulative , so you have to memorize 2 WHOLE BOOKS and he takes off points even if you use textbook definition.

I absolutely hated this class. Not only did it make zero sense but he wasn't clear on the pages in this textbook. The syllabus was useless and he truly didn't engage the class in any discussion. He kinda just went on these long rants and just left you confused. the exams are always so confusing cause you never know what to study. I DONT RECOMMEND

Do not take this class. I really wish i hadn't. I have a 3.8 gpa and i know im going to fail this class. He is the worst professor. He doesn't review for tests either he just goes to the next topic. His class makes no sense and tests on stuff we never talk about in class. His exams are to define 10 definitions and 2 essays. STUFF WE NEVER TALK ABOU

By far the hardest 101 class I have ever taken. You can try to pay attention to the lectures and read as much as you want, but nothing is gonna prepare you for the exams. He does not engage with the class nor ask you questions. The extra credit was graded so harshly that you end up getting no credit anyways. Not worth it :(

He is a nice man, but he goes off topic a lot and doesn't teach the material. This is the only class that I didn't do well. I would not recommend taking him. Worst decision of my life. you're also graded on 3 exams and that's it. DO NOT TAKE.

Prof. Kranz can't communicate, any emails you send will either never be responded to or never responded to. I never got any of my grades, which meant I had no idea where I stood in his class until I saw my final class grade. It was upsetting and confusing, because when I had asked him prior about my grades, no response. I wouldn't take this class

Treats 100 level course as if its 300 level, harsh grader, doesnt teach just talks the whole period, waits until the last minute to go over anything in the textbook and his course is not worth it. Do not take anything he teaches.

So this professor will leave you lost from beginning to end. From his mindless chats about his past that is unrelated to the work to his inability to reply to emails or even decide to check it, you will truly feel like you are taking 3-4 classes throughout the semester. So if your planning on taking this class, just choose another professor.

You will really do yourself a huge favor by avoiding this professor. He constantly lectures in his classes but he talks too fast so it's hard to even want to write something down. His syllabus made absolute NO SENSE and doesn't care if you're concerned about your grade. He only gave my class a couple essays over the semester but he grades harsh.

Girl let me tell u. he is such a bad professor like I just finished my two final essays and I'm so glad I never have to step foot in that blackboard collaborate ever again. He missed the first two weeks of class, and he is such a harsh garder. He talks all class s u wont be able to learn.

I advise you stay far away this man doesn't teach anything that we need to know about government he takes one part of the textbook and just rants about it, your graded on three test and after each test except the final there is an extra credit. If I never had knowledge of American government I would have failed. The test is vocabulary and 2 essays

He is a very nice man but dont take his class if you except to get a A. I am a hardworking student and no matter how much i studied, did everything he asked formy test grades would be horrible. I did so much extra credit and it barely did anything to my grade.

First in class essay 20% Second in class essay 30% Final in class essay 50% If you can avoid him, do it. No participation in his class, no mandatory attendance. Talks a lot but says too little and expect you to know every detail on the Constitution. Okay with the definitions but THOUGH grader regarding the essays. Lack of student motivation.

Only graded on three things, two midterms, and a final exam. Just says to read the textbook if confused or need help.

This professor was by far the MOST DIFFICULT professor I've had so far. Not only was there minimal grades going into your final grade, but they were worth so much. His lectures had no real beginning and end. Gave little structure to the actual lecture and notes were impossible to keep together and on the same topic.

Very difficult professor. Just a grumpy old man. He doesn't put any of the readings online. He puts all the readings un-organized on his printed syllabus that he hands you (If you lose it, you're fked). He doesn't say which books. You literally have to go to the library etc and find the books that he wants you to read on his un-organized syllabus.

hard class. he just talks and talks and frequently sidetracks into something not related to the class. he made the class feel longer than it is. study the textbooks heavily and youll do fine enough but i dont recommend this class at all.

Fails to be a professor on so many levels, Your grade for this class is only based on 3 exams, 2 midterms and a final, no homework, talks for 1 hr 15 straight , does little to actually get the class involved, goes on random rants about sports, tries to be funny and just falls flat half the time.

If you struggle taking exams DO NOT TAKE!!! You are given 3 tests and thats you grade no homework no classwork only tests and there is extra credit but they are due the next class and they arent that easy either. Very nice professor but would not recommend. He just sits there and talks the whole class. No slides or anything. Not even brightspace
