Took this guy in 1997, first semester in college. Received A's and B's in every other class, but had to drop this one near the end after he blasted my test essay and forced up the white flag. The man simply believes you should be writing a master's thesis in every essay. This is introductory history for goodness sake. DO NOT TAKE HIM PERIOD!

This is a senior level history class. If you are not doing a history major do not take this class. He makes this class extremely difficult to follow along. His test(s) consist of at least five pages in witch you will have a hard time figuring out what he wants out of you. You will have a hard time comparing his lectures with your required reading.

He is a nice guy, and is willing to sit down with you and go over exams. But his lectures are extremely hard to follow, he seems to be weeks behind in his lectures. The quizzes are pretty straight forward, just have to read all 5 books. Exams are very difficult and he has high expectations. Only take this class if you are willing to put in the work

Exams are take home papers but REDICULUS! Not clear on what he wants, grades as if you should be devoted to this class only. ONLY TAKE IF HISTORY MAJOR!!!

He is very passionate about his work, and about History! If you are not willing to create an interest for the content, then you are screwed! Contrary to what many people say, he is very interested in the success of his students and will go out on a limb if asked for help. Dont be fooled by his tough talk! he expects a lot from his students! Try it!

Very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches and obviously has a great passion for it. However, taking this INTRO class was like taking an upper division class. He sometimes comes across as arrogant and smug in class, but if you get him alone during office hours he is quite helpful and compassionate as long as he can tell you're trying.

Much more interesting and does not fail to get you to think more deeply about the early Americas. Less time line and more why things happened in the past.I wish i tried harder because now ill never know what he had to teach!

I once took his summer class once. It was the worst three hours of my life. I am not kidding. He makes history so monotonous and yawn-worthy that I wouldn't recommend taking his class. He grades fairly hard on essays and it's not like I'm incapable of writing good history essays. Even if he's the only professor left with openings, DON'T DO IT!

You dont even need to listen to the lectures and youre basically learning from the books. The key is to READ. I got a B cause I got A's on my essays but failed my quizzes. Make sure you READ
