Prof. Opata was by far one of my favorite professors at NOVA. He was always willing to help students out if they were confused or struggling, and the work load was not unbearable. He always made class fun and it was easy to stay on top of things. He is very understanding. I recommend him.

He's the best professor I have ever had. He is funny, nice and very helpful. You can ask him one question 100 times and he won't get upset. There are 4-5 journals and 5-6 quizzes but the quizzes are easy he always go over them. He gave us study guides for midterm and final. If you study that you will pass the tests with an A. He is a bit too focused on memorization rather than understanding, but if you are actually interested and ask real questions, he will give you great feedback. The classes I took with Prof O really prepared me for my concentration at George Mason. If you are looking for a professor who loves what they do, and genuinely cares about their students you have found one! I highly recommend all of his classes. Professor O is an awesome Professor! He is honestly one of my top favorite I've had at NOVA. As long as you show up to class, do your work, and pay attention you will do great. He will call on you so it is important to participate in class discussions. If you study the study guides for exams you will be well prepared.

Prof Opata is a MUST TAKE! I took him for the 6 week summer course. There's a vocab quiz every class (read the PP slides, no textbook needed). He gives you all the answers to the midterm and final exams beforehand (mult choice). He likes to pick on EVERYONE in the class. Pay attention in class, you'll 100% be called upon atleast 3 times per class.

Adjectives: graceful, gentlemanly, fascinating, accommodating, a listener. You can tell I am a fan, but really, he is the best lecturer I have seen. Sitting in his lectures is a delight. He's pretty damned good, I must say.

I was not looking forward to taking Bus 280. But Dr. Opata made me love it. He inspired me in so many ways with his accomplishments. I was so intrigued by his lectures mixed with real life events and how much people need to know before engaging in business in different countries around the world. Since that class, I have been wanting to pursue a major in International Business.

He is there to help you learn and pass. There are some in class quizzes so take notes. He gives study guides so you will not find the exams difficult at all. Do the project because it is a big chunk of the grade, it easy project and he is very easy grader.

His classes are more interactive. Be ready for pop quizzes. Assignments on Culture will make you guys learn about the country which you are not aware before. Exams are quite easy, if you follow the study guide provided it will make your job easy. Be attentive in class and secure good marks. Definitely would recommend him again.

Dr Opata is an awesome Professor. I took his 8 weeks online course. It is really not difficult. Just 1 Exam needs to take in the test center. Another exam is a 5 minutes speech video which is all you can practice and complete at home. Take his course, you wont regret.

take his online 8 week. Everything is laid out from the start in the modules. The 2 big assignments are an in person exam and a 5 minute speech which you upload online, you do need to pass both to pass the class but they aren't hard at all.

Dr. Opatas BUS 280 class is great. This class had a fun and interactive country project, on top of 3 exams and 3 quizzes. Participation/attendance is important as it is graded. I learned a lot about international business, his course was very engaging and inspirational. He is a very patient professor, friendly, and cares about student success.

Great online class. Easy to follow, and the professor was easy to work with. For the online BUS 270 class the workload consists of weekly discussion posts and journal assignments, a single group project, and a PowerPoint presentation. I particularly enjoyed that when an assignment is submitted, the webpage will display confetti.

I took an 8-week course and It was very fast so make sure to keep up. Otherwise, the professor is nice and respected. 10/10 would recommend him!

I also took this as an 8 week course, and keeping up with the assignments is a sure fire way to make sure you don't fall behind. Waiting till the last minute each week to submit the work is not worth it in my opinion. Prof. Opata was always quick to respond and the class was well structured.

I took BUS100 for the Fall 2020 semester so it was fully online. There's no lecture or class meetings, everything is in the textbook through McGraw Hill Textbook, which is a great study function. He's very clear about what he wants, gets back to students within 48 hours, and has a good sense of humor.

Lots of homework for the potential to either succeed for fail.

This class with this specific professor is not hard, you just have to do a lot of reading from the textbook. The two exams are weighted pretty heavily, but you will pass if you put in the reading work.

This class was probably my favorite class that I took this semester. It was very interesting and I learned a lot about business. The professor was very helpful in sending reminders and feedback as this was an online course.

Very manageable online course. Took it as an 8 week and never felt overwhelmed or stressed. Online textbook was interactive and helped your retain info. Tests were given through the textbook so the content was directly related. Would highly recommend, especially as a 8 week.

Professor O is great, make sure to participate and ask questions, He gives out study guides for the exams that are identical to the exam. A couple of quizzes. He does use lockdown browser for all quizzes and exams (with webcam) overall it is a simply easy class if you pay attention to the lectures. A few discussion boards(nothing crazy). Take him!

This was by far my favorite professor at NVCC. He was super engaging and answered all your questions. He likes it when students participate. The key is to attend class and pay attention. He will do his best help you all succeed as long as you put the effort in. From what the other students had told me, they all pretty much passed with high grades.

Jonathan Opata is an energetic guy who brings a positive spirit to the classroom all the time. It is great to take notes for this class because of all that gets covered by the PowerPoints. There are pop quizzes with extra points to keep the classroom active. If one pays attention in class and uses the study guide well, this class is an easy A+.

Professor Jonathan is very sympathetic and understanding, enthusiastically supporting students when you do not understand the lesson or have any questions. He is a caring teacher. Mans give out a lot of extra credit, easy grader, but hella slow. His poll questions which he almost always gives you as part of extra credits are hella tricky and confusing so be careful with that. Webcam monitored on chapter test, quizzes are open book.

I took business 280 with him in Fall 2018. He was an amazing prof. I told him i am going to rate him on here cuz he was so great, but i forgot to. So here i am 4 years later to say he was amazing. Very understanding and a great guy. He was also hilarious. Def would recommend him.

If you do the assignments, you'll get an A. Midterm is writing a cover letter and Final is a short speech. Only problem I had was that he never responds to messages - only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating. I sent 3 and never got a response. You're pretty much on your own. Dr. Opata is a fair grader, and the class as a whole was a stress-free easy A. There were two discussion boards every week, with one to two journals each week. The Midterm was creating a Cover Letter (on Lockdown Browser) and the Final was just a five-minute speech presentation (max of 5 minutes, so pick an easy topic). Great 7-week class!

The class was asynchronous, but each chapter would take me at least 2 hours to complete because of the quiz at the end which one would think it's 30 questions, but the bar would only fill halfway making it 60. Other than that, it was a good class, and I enjoyed it. I do recommend him if you stay on top of your work and don't procrastinate.
