Yes, the class is hard, but if you actually do the work/study it is not that hard to make an A. Do not take the class if you are not self disciplined because you have to do all the work outside of class yourself, but you will learn a lot if you do. It is also nice because with the quiz system there is no final exam.

I am an A student and this by far was the hardest class I have ever taken and I'm a nursing student. You don't need the book because it doesn't help at all. I emailed him asking so many questions and he wasn't a help at all. He gives you 10 minutes to take 5 questions quizzes which isn't enough. Save yourself and DON'T TAKE HIM!!!

Many people found hid class difficult (and it is), but so many people found that the professor himself was hard to work with. I found that he gives heavy lectures, but his tests are open notes and open book. He lays it all out so you can work ahead, and he gives extra credit. You could be done with this class the first month if you chose.

Theres a billion online lectures you have to watch & the tests are hard. Tests can be tricky & wordy. He can also be rude when you ask him questions through email. I made a mistake of trying to take both neuro online with him and cog psych online with him and it was impossible. He makes his tests hard.

Finished with an A, BUT Dr. Reed shouldn't be an undergrad professor. He's arrogant and designs the class to trip you up (40 quizzes then the final). His lectures wordy and confusing so TAKE DETAILED NOTES. Didn't use the book once. Grading criteria makes 0 sense so you don't know what you have all semester. I feel sorry for anyone who has him!

Take notes and have them out as you are taking the tests. You automatically get 25 pts extra credit cause the course is worth 125 pts but graded out of 100

It is tough when it comes to quizzes but you just have to take time with the lectures and the study guides. It's really time consuming but a great course to take.

From the comments that I read about Dr. Reed before taking his class I was a bit nervous. But he is actually not bad at all. At the start of the semester he provided an extra credit assignment and more throughout the semester. He gives a lot of work but it is doable. Helped our class a lot when people missed deadlines. Easy A, as long as you work.

He writes his own lectures. They are really information-heavy, a bit wordy, and take time to read actively. (Active reading is VERY important.). Took him online for both Cognitive Psych and Neuroscience. Both of the classes were the exact same- test and quizzes all on the same days and gives us his 'textbook' that he wrote (notes) to use for the tests and quizzes. Half of the quiz/test questions do not come from his notes. The average on tests was about a 50% and he would send 'kudos's.

I don't recommend taking him for any psych class!!! When he gives out exams they are only open for one day, and none of the questions actually come from his lectures. The average on every exam is about a 50% so that should say something about him as a teacher. So if you can take a different class or choose a different teacher!
