Sharpe is seriously one of the best professors I have ever had. He is hilarious and we watched a lot of youtube videos, but he tries to make them flow with the course work. I learned a lot from him and wish I still had him as a teacher.
He is a very laid pack professor, makes the class laugh, and explains his lectures well.
Great!
Super easy to pass as long as you show up and do the work.
Easy class as long as you paid attention. Most of the quizzes were from what he taught.
Easy as long as you read the material that was assigned.
Professor Sharpe is the greatest professor ever! He is very knowledgeable in his subject (Theology). He makes class very interesting with awesome video clips that intertwine with the lesson he is teaching for the day. The way the class is structured makes learning fun!
Professor Sharpe is the best! He makes class so much more enjoyable by breaking up the lecture with youtube videos and group discussions. He is very knowledgable in his field and is willing to help students with anything!
Professor Sharpe made this class very exciting! Our class even got to go on a field trip which was totally awesome! Always stay on top of reading in order to do well on the quizzes
He's awesome. Down to Earth and you can tell He is a true Christian. Good man.
I absolutely love Professor Sharp. If I had more elective credits available, I'd even be tempted to take his history classes just to have the privilege of learning from this wise man. Class is fun and I learned a ton.
Professor Sharpe is literally the best! He makes lectures interesting, and really prepares you for success!
Professor Sharpe was one of the best professors to have, if you do not need a difficult class. Sharpe has a great sense of humor, and is really into movies and tv shows, and loves using clips and other YouTube clips in lectures. None of his quizzes were hard, because they were all multiple choice and very short. He is a very clear teacher.
Jonathan is a nice guy. The class was pretty easy, a lot of reading, but that was a class requirement not his. Do all the homework and assignments and you will be fine. His lectures tended to be boring and I ended up doing homework or playing on my phone the whole time. I also got an A barely reading anything.
Unfortunately I did not enjoy my time in Professor Sharpe's class. Multiple times he interjected his political opinion into the class lecture. I know the University is very conservative, but his rhetoric was offensive. This class was a forum for him to express is very conservative views. Its was quite unfortunate to not learn more about the bible.
Professor Sharpe is really knowledgeable not just about the Christian faith but of other religions and would explain the differences of what each believed. He worked to make the class interesting for the students taking it. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and hope I get the chance to take another one of his classes!
The main thing I hated the most about Christian worldview was the long as heck papers that had very unclear guidelines. They also had conflicting guidelines like: use provided labels for each paragraph, then you were expected to have an intro and conclusion even though those labels were not provided, and that criteria was hidden in the rubric.
This class had to be one of my favorites. Sharpe made a class that I didn't want to be in fun. He has A LOT of knowledge on what he is talking about. One of my favorite qualities Sharpe possesses is a non bias opinion. This class isn't about why Christianity is the only right religion and he does not bash other religions. Random participation.
A teacher who really cares about his students. Has lots of students but will always make time for anyone who needs it. Don't know what one person was talking about with politics in a review cause goes out of his way to be non-political and considerate of everyone. Class is about how Christians see the world. Some people can't hang with theology.
You can tell he has a passion for teaching and for God. Really clear and makes things interesting.
I highly enjoyed Sharpe's class. For someone with a private Christian school background who really didn't need a class that is basically Christianity 101, he actually managed to make it interesting and entertaining.
Professor Sharpe is definitely a fantastic Christian Worldview teacher. Absolutely loved his class.
Professor Sharpe is very engaging and is for the student. I would definitely take him again, and I recommend him to all of my friends! Grading is pretty easy, light work load, participation definitely matters. The only way you could fail the class is not attending, because he works hard to give us few assignments and teaches clearly.
I really enjoyed the lectures, he made them fun and interesting. He played a lot of videos, which was nice. Most papers were group assignments.
great class. He is my favorite professor on the whole campus
Mr. Sharpe is a fantastic professor who turned a mandatory class in to one worth going to. He incorporated pop music and clips from great movies in to his lectures, and did a great job at teaching. He was super fair when it came to grading.
Professor Sharpe made a class I was dreading into something amazing! A very fair presentation of all worldviews, nothing was dismissed out of hand because it wasn't a Christian belief. He gave great feed back in papers, too. He was funny, engaging, and exceptionally versed in his content. I would and will totally take him again.
Great teacher, but I did not care for his IA.
Sharpe is a really cool guy and we hardly ever have class for as long as it should be. There are quizzes almost every week that aren't too tough, as long as you're in class you'll do fine. He talks a lot and goes off topic, which can make things a little confusing, but he makes class interesting.
Great professor, and funny
Really makes the concepts clear for current students and way more than the text. Is always willing to take time for people in his classes, but not everyone takes the time to get help, maybe due to big size of classes. His assistants do a lot of stuff too, including some grading, but if you want your papers graded by him just ask to be in his group.
Professor Sharpe is super cool. Very nice, intelligent and makes his lectures very enjoyable with humor. I looked forward to his class everyday. Tip: make flashcards and you will glide by.
He is AMAZING! I had him my freshman year and I was nervous but he is so chill and easy going. Super approachable. Got a bad score, not a problem he'll give you extra credit or drop that score if you do better next time. He teaching is awesome, his methods are outstanding, and yeah he got study guides. BESR GCU TEACHER EVER! Highly Recommend.
Awesome teacher. Fairly laid back, available outside of class, and very knowledgeable on Christianity. Pretty much every assignment is done as a group (even essays, probably a good thing and group changes are possible if things aren't working). He is good at explaining different beliefs without misrepresenting them (we learn about other religons)
Makes a mandatory class actually interesting. Always willing to help students improve on their work and grades outside of class and sets aside a lot of time to help. If you don't do as well in the class as you wanted then you're either skipping or not reading the book. Go to class and turn everything in and you'll be great.
Professor Sharpe was an amazing teacher. I thought this class was going to be a boring Christian class, but he went over all religions and used real life situations to help relate to us. He used humor to to make the class more exciting and he showed us alot of funny videos
Sharpe is an awesome professor. Always keeps the class interesting and humorous.
He is an overall good professor and has a lot of information to teach. He speaks a lot so you have to figure out what is important. He postpones every quiz by at least 1 to 2 classes so you won't know when it is unless you show up everyday. Assignments vary from group to individual work and projects take forever to grade and get back.
He's a pretty great professor. There's lot of amazing lecturing in this class, group projects, & heavy reading list but it isn't necessarily required which is nice.
I really enjoyed having Sharpe as my professor. There may be many projects and papers, but he and his TA's grade fairly and if you just pay attention in class and read what you're supposed to the quizzes are easy. He shows lots of videos and tries to keep the content interesting.
Sharpe is my favorite professor. He is lecture heavy, but he makes them funny and entertaining. If you show up to class, and put effort into your work, it is easy to pass. He also truly cares about your grades. I would 100% have him as a professor again.
Professor Sharpe is a really good professor, and his lectures are amazing because he does have a lot of knowledge. The only thing is there's a lot of group papers, and while that can be beneficial, it isn't when your group is terrible. Also, the papers we do by ourselves, the IA's grade one of the IA's is a good person but terrible IA/teacher.
I'm near the end of this class and I got to say I didn't enjoy it. Professor Sharpe seems like a wonderful being. His class was mostly lectures and the tests were quite difficult. The quizzes are a bit hard to understand since he seems to reword anything. I would take this class again, for his humor.
Sharpe is so cool ! Try your hardest to get him for Christian Worldview. Tests are 8 questions each but super easy. He is passionate about what he teaches and also super smart. He will go off on like 25 tangents per class (about star wars or something) but overall he is great. Also he makes like every assignment practically CLC so very little work!
I always looked forward to going to this class. Professor Sharpe is knowledgeable and passionate about the material and makes lectures interesting. Most papers were done in groups and the quizzes were easy if you paid attention.
Sharpe is amazing. He is so respected by everyone and makes the class laugh out loud every day. His lectures can seem a bit repetitive, but he makes up for it with jokes and funny videos. He explains that he doesn't like the curriculum he is forced to teach, and breaks up our huge assignments into group projects so that we don't have as much work.
He was a good professor. He is all about lectures and powerpoints and shows lots of random videos. He is really understanding about grades though and you can always talk to him about anything. He doesn't give tough quizzes or anything so the class isn't that bad.
He's awesome! Get this teacher if you can!
Really great professor. His lectures are very fun. However, due to the large class sizes, there are at least two assistants, and that can lead to inconsistent grading on papers but nothing too extreme.
He makes the content interesting, he is easy to talk to if you need help or are having difficulties. He really cares about his students. He shows a lot of fun videos in class to help teach the criteria which is helpful because it makes it more memorable.
Easily one of the best professors! He's great at making the material memorable and keeps the content light when he can! Definitely recommend him! He's down to earth and actually cares about his students and understands mistakes happen. Don't be afraid to participate in the large class, it helps!
By far the best morning class to have, the lectures are full of material that will be seen on quizzes and essays. Sharpe has so many stories to tell and is very engaging in any questions students have. He is very caring and will provide any help needed with the papers that are almost all done in groups.
Professor Sharpe is really cool and funny. He does a lot of group work which makes the work load easier. There are a lot of papers but because he splits them up in groups they are a lot easier to do.
He is a great professor with funny lectures.
Awesome! Makes people from all views feel welcome. But since the class is about understanding Christianity you will need to be ready to learn about that topic and not think you can just share your own feelings or ideas on things instead to get a good grade. I enjoyed it. Came in concerned about a Christian course but was actually my favorite class.
Really cares about students despite the huge size of the class. Takes the time to try to meet with every single student even though he has hundreds of students. No other professor does that. If people don't meet him, get questions answered or get help in the course it is only because they don't want help. He is a really caring person.
Great teacher, great guy.
Jonathan Sharpe is a great guy however he tends to get very distracted during his lectures. However if you do the assigned readings and show up to class you will do well in the class.
He's very fun and makes the class easy to understand.
Professor Sharpe is one of the best teachers i've ever had! He has some really amazing stories that he includes in his lectures and makes it very interesting. He really cares about students and wants everyone to get an A. He is easily accessible and has clear expectations. Almost every assignment was a group project. AWESOME TEACHER!
Funny professor that genuinely cares about his students. Only complaint is that I felt like his powerpoints didn't really follow what I read in the book or what my friends in other CWV classes were learning so some lectures didn't feel beneficial. Also, there are a lot of group projects & papers, but if you put in the work, it is an easy A.
Jonathon Sharpe is funny, available, and is always willing to go over quiz's and papers to explain what was wrong. He also has some pretty crazy life stories, so that's always interesting to hear. He also makes sure he covers and recovers everything that will be on the quiz's so that the students are well prepared. I would definitely recommend him!
EASY TEACHER! Study guides are available online and the quizzes are exactly like the study guide. It is lecture heavy but pay attention every so often so you are aware of what he is talking about. Participation hardly matters but do show up to class every so often. Alot of papers but they are from your point of view so there's not right/wrong.
The class is overall pretty easy. He is funny and interesting but lectures a ton. You tend to zone-out a lot because they are pretty long. But he tries his best to engage you! He shows lots of videos and clips for reference instead of trying to drag on the lecture. He is very nice and informative. I would recommend choosing him for your Professor!
All projects were group projects but other than that Sharpe was an amazing professor and so caring. His lectures were so interesting and he is an easy person to listen to. I highly recommend this course. The quizzes are MUCH easier than all the other professors in CWV101. He would give us extra credit for drawing pictures on the back of our quizzes
Very lecture heavy & assigns a ton of group projects. The quizzes were pretty difficult but I also did not study for them. He shows a lot of random videos during class. The lectures are hard to focus on because he talks a lot. Overall though, he is always available outside of class for anyone who wants extra help or to just talk about life with.
Jonathan is a great instructor and makes his lectures as relatable as possible although they can feel lengthy. His class has many group projects and two personal papers. His quizzes rely heavily on the lectures so being in class is important. He would let us out early and be available outside of class for any questions. He has a great personality.
Jonathan Sharpe was a great teacher who really cared about his students. However, the class was dependent on group assignments. He made his lectures entertaining and funny but he did tend to get off topic.
Professor Sharpe is amazing! He is so caring about students and is always willing to help. Almost all of the assignments are group projects, which makes it super easy. Lectures are kind of long but he tries to keep you engaged. He does random participation points so you may never know when it's ok to skip. Would really recommend him!
Sharpe is so caring and wants his students to understand the Christian worldview! I would recommend him! His class is easy and the group projects are not bad at all.
Professor Sharpe is so funny during lectures, although they felt really long it is interesting to hear them because he is so knowledgeable and has so many real life examples to give. There is a lot of group projects so choose wisely on who you pick for your group members at the beginning of the semester because your grade will depend on them.
Tough quizzes. Lecture heavy. Nice professor but dull class.
Professor Sharpe does a great job making every class interesting and fun. He grades tough but makes most assignments group projects instead of individual.
Professor Sharpe was an amazing professor. Tests are super easy and almost always 10 questions or less. His lectures could be boring, but he always tells stories that make class interesting. There are lots of group projects and a couple essay assignments. He provides reviews for tests that are super helpful. I recommend him if you have to take CWV.
His class requires lots of reading and lots of group projects so make sure you pick a solid group that will put in the required work. His lectures are hilarious so it makes his class pretty easy to stay awake in. There are quizzes once a week, but they're all on quizlet which you can study the class before and still do good.
Great professors, he sounds like Owen Wilson so I actually paid attention in class. Almost every assignment is a group project, so make sure you have a good group. Lecture heavy and all test are based on it. the assignments are very easy and so are the test.
Very intentional human being! He does a great job explaining Christian concepts without throwing Christianity in your face. Also makes class really fun. Wouldn't show up if anyone else were teaching.
Great guy. Will hold you accountable for attendance and quizzes though. So don't skip to much and DO study the text book. He gives extra credit on lots of quizzes, but if you're not doing the readings or coming for lectures, don't expect to go well on quizzes.
Professor Sharpe has easily been the best professor that I have had at GCU. His approach to each class is structured, and while some found him dull, I found him genuine. He actually TAUGHT and if you listen, and are not just on your lap top, you will obtain a lot of his teaching. Plus he is hilarious and sounds exactly like Owen Wilson.
Super funny. Randomly plays music. Wouldnt rap for us :(
Interesting class & good teacher
As long as you show up and actually pay attention you have an A. He has engaging lectures so you feel inclined to pay attention, sometimes he'll play random videos that somehow relate to what he is talking about. Chose your groups carefully because you have group work, but if you don't work well with your group he does give you changes to switch<3
Professor Sharpe is the best! He's a great guy and an amazing teacher. He communicates very affectively and teaches the material necessary, but most importantly he's super passionate and caring and i appreciate that as a student. This is a great class and a great opportunity to learn about christianity and other worldviews in a safe place.
Professor Sharpe is one of my favorite professors at GCU. He really loves and knows what he teaches. Totally recommend him if you're going to take CWV!!
Loved this class!! 10/10 recommend. He's a great professor and person! He loves to joke around and make class fun, while getting stuff done
Sharpe is awesome. He's hilarious, nice, and relates the stuff to life. My major has nothing to do with CWV but I still learned a lot. Only annoying thing is the group projects, but that's just me.
I didn't even take the final and he gave me an A on it. I left school early for break and expected to finish with an 86% because I messed up bad on one assignment and I should have got a 0/70 on the final. But when I checked, he gave me an A on it and I finished with a 95%. Super chill guy and he gives extra credit for no reason. 10/10 recommend.
Lots of group projects but not many other assignments. He was always very nice and funny and personable.
Professor Sharpe is the best! He is hilarious, yet stays on topic and teaches the material well. There is a lot of group projects, so make sure you get a good group. He is very available to help students outside of class so don't be afraid to reach out to him for help.
Professor Sharpe is an amazing person. His class is not difficult at all if you show up to class. The quizzes are simple and short, they are also heavily based on the lecture. He is caring, funny, and you will learn a lot from him. 10 out of 10 recommend for Christian Worldview.
Professor Sharpe is an overall amazing teacher. Although he often gets carried away and goes of topic, he tries to make class as fun as possible. His class is very lecture-heavy which is why you cannot afford to miss this class too much. In all, if you are looking to get Christian Worldview out of the way with an easy A, he's your guy.
Great prof! Some of the material is over the heads of stufents who have never considered theological or philosophical questions, but added lots of unexpected value for a 100 level class.
The best one I have ever had
Just show up to class and sit by people you actually like lol.
Nice professor. Will take hours out of his day to help students during the office hours even if it is just talking about life. Only tough part of the class is that you have to work on group projects and also don't skip classes because you can't make up points for participation projects you miss. Since this is a class you have to take, take Sharpe!
Lots of group work and readings, but great professor!
Lots of assignments but they are the same that everyone has to take on campus since this is a course with a standardized curiclum. But taking it on the campus is better than online because professors like Sharpe make it more interactive and fun. Wants to make it worthwhile for students to be there and learn things not in the books or online!!
Very inspiring and helped answer most of the questions I had about Christianity. This course is amazing if you want to know what Christians actually believe. I learned more in the class than I ever did in church. Can't skip tho or u miss stuff on quizzes, and dont think you will get it right just because you went to church.
Awesome! Required to read the text to pass quizzes and have to be in class most times to get participation points. Makes a required course fun. Would take again!
I was required to take Christian Worldview and was definitely not excited about it, but professor Sharpe made it fun and enjoyable! Great guy and very respectful of everyone's beliefs. 11/10 would recommend getting professor Sharpe for Christian Worldview!
So, don't skip very often or you lose participation points & quizzes will get hard without being ther but actually good classes. Had to be there because GCU makes u take this but enjoyed it more than I epxected thanks to Dr. Sharpe. Good person to talk to.
Great professor, If I didn't have him, CWV would have been a lot different
Great professor, very understanding
Professor Sharpe is one of the sweetest human being i've ever met. He really tries to make this class as easy as possible for everyone. He is super respectful about everyone's worldview and does not try to push Christianity on anyone. This class is an easy A as long as you turn in your assignments. Love Professor Sharpe! He is a real gem.
Professor Sharpe is by far the best professor I've ever had. He cares about his students, he goes above and beyond to help you succeed, and has very witty humor. I thought this would be my least favorite class and it turned out to be my favorite. All around great professor, I would recommend his course any day.
Hes so funny and makes all content relatable which is easy to understand. Also makes assignments easier than other classes ive heard of.
He is very caring! His lectures are engaging and he really loves his job. A lot of group projects though. Would recommend (:
This is by far my favorite professor and course I have taken! Professor Sharpe is such a great professor and makes class very enjoyable. He is very respectful of everyones beliefs and makes that very clear. His lectures are not boring at all and he's super funny and always tries to make things easier to understand. He's very helpful as well !
Best Professor!! Great professor and a funny guy. He is very willing to help you whenever. He always gives extra credit on quizzes and tries to make assignments and tests easier for everyone! Very respectful of everyones beliefs.
Sharpe is SUCH an amazing professor and person in general! This class is not very hard as long as you pay attention! He really makes an effort to know all of his students and really wants everyone to succeed! His lectures are super fascinating, and I learned more about being a Christian in this class than in church haha
Sharpe is a really great and knowledgeable guy. He is willing to answer any questions you have. Although his class is very lecture heavy and often gets really boring.
Dr. Sharpe is THE best professor I had here at GCU. He is so personable which helps when taking CWV. He makes jokes and has the most interesting story. All time best professor here at GCU
Sharpe is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you are given the choice to take his class at the beginning of the year do it! He is a great professor and helps you get familiar with the school as well as the curriculum. He is absolutely hilarious and makes learning so much fun! I would take any class of his in a heart beat!
Professor Sharpe is the BEST! He is very understanding of his students and is caring towards everyone's beliefs. He makes learning the Christian Worldview very interesting even if you are already Christian. By far my favorite class and professor I have had. ABSOLUTELY TAKE SHARPE!!!!!
Jonathan was such a great teacher. He tries to make it easy on the students so that they can be successful, but also learn a lot in his class. All of the papers are group papers, so it was easier than writing the papers alone, but group work is always a little stressful. His quizzes are super easy. He wants his students to be successful.
Professor Sharpe is a very smart, good guy. However, he takes long to grade things, his quizzes are very unclear and not precise, and often times have multiple answers with very few questions worth a good chunk of points. He gets very distracted and side tracked. His classes tend to not be very structured and it is very difficult to get above an B
Dr. Sharpe is a really awesome professor! Make sure to pay attention during lectures and read the textbook because it really helps on tests and assignments. He's always willing to answer questions and cares about his students. He makes class really fun and interesting. I would definitely take his class again!
Professor Sharpe is the best out there! It is a no brainer. He makes his lectures interesting and is always getting his students to engage. He truly cares for all his students and is willing to individually help everyone if needed. He is very knowledgeable as well as accepting of everyones opinions. Wish I could take his course again!
Professor Sharpe was one of my favorite professors ever! He truly wanted everyone to succeed and made his expectation VERY clear. He was always available outside of class to answer any questions I had!
Incredible professor. If it wasn't for Dr. Shapre, I would've hated this class. He shows all students and their beliefs respect and is hilarious. TAKE HM!!!
Professor Sharpe was amazing! He is very willing to work with you and talk one on one if you have questions about literally anything. He is so sweet and caring. The class is definitely lecture heavy, but I found them very interesting. There are a lot of group projects and group interaction, which I didn't love. Overall, he is a great professor!
As long as you do the homework, it is an easy A. The only reason I got a B+ is that I missed a couple of high point assignments, which I was well aware of. Group projects are graded thoroughly, but fair. I would highly recommend this teacher!
This professor is probably the best professor I have had so far, show up to his class pay attention and you pass it's that simple. His quiz is not hard at all just pay attention. He does give a lot of group work but it is because of COVID. He makes the lectures fun and interesting he always makes jokes and is a genuine person that cares.
Lots of papers, group projects, and tests. There is a lot of reading for this class but if you go to church and understand the Bible you will be fine. This class was a waste of time and treated it like a podcast- did other things during class but was listening.
super understanding, he talks a lot but is not hard
this class was basically a podcast. i went to church growing up and understood the bible so the class was not hard, even though i missed class a lot. there is a lot of group work which is where my B comes in so make sure you stay on top of group work!
You will be doing a lot of group projects. So make sure you have a reliable group. Secondly the quizzes are quite a challenge, so make sure your prepared. Jonathan is a great professor and is understanding.
I loved Professor Sharpe!! He is hilarious and makes this class easy (but still interesting), even if you know nothing about religion you will pass. He is also open to any opinion or belief that his students may have, and offers extra credit questions on most tests. Don't listen to the bad reviews, Sharpe is the best professor you will get for CWV.
Cool guy. His voice is a little monotone so try not to fall asleep. Very respectful. Lots of group project but nothing too difficult. Tries to make class cool.
Amazing lectures and is very understanding.
Best professor and class ever. Super interesting and thought-provoking class if you care. If you don't, super easy to pass. I would have him teach all my classes if I could.
Professor Sharpe's CWV class is super engaging and thought-provoking. With the right approach - staying off your phone, reading the textbook, and using study tools like unstuck study - it's an easy A. Definitely worth taking if you're interested in the material.
