She is a very helpful teacher. She gives you a formula sheet for every test which makes the exams SO much easier. Show up for the sample test review. I only paid attention for the review and made an A.

This course was great. It seemed overwhelming, but after going through the material in class, it was very easy. She gave formula sheet for exams making it more manageable. There were clicker quizzes, but she announced them ahead of time. If you need ISDS2000, take Dr. Shreve! Also skip the textbook and buy her study guide if she offers it!

I almost feel guilty with how easy this class went. She provides formula sheets for tests, so if you just go to class and pay attention, it's basically just plug and chug. I think I'd pass on buying the book. She has a study guide that you can buy or grab the .pdfs from mooodle and print them out yourself to take notes on during class.

This class was a joke. I rarely went, and when I did I did nothing but play iPhone games. If you can teach yourself how to do the practice test prior to the actual test, it's smooth sailing.

Joni is so sweet and really wants her students to do well. If you ever need help, she is more than willing to be there for you. You don't necessarily need to go to class, but you do need to understand the information to do well in the class. You can basically study on your own, do the homework, and make a good grade.

She provides very detailed notes, so you don't need the book to pass, but you need to go to class to get info not explained in detail in the notes. If you attend class and do all the online homework you should get an A or B pretty easily.

Very good teacher. She has all the notes online, but if you really want to make an A you should go to class, even though you don't have to. She is easy to understand and really knows what she is talking about. If you do the homework you should do well on the tests, which were pretty easy. The final was a little hard, but she gives study guides.

Professor Shreve is really sweet. her lectures are straight from the notes and i never went to class and will end up with a point shy of an A...so go to class if you want an A but shes a great teacher for a crappy subject!

Mrs. Joni is such an amazing teacher. She wants everyone to understand the material and wants all of her students to do well. She really knows what she's talking about and is very passionate about the subject she teaches. I would take her again if I got the chance.

All though this class is quite difficult, the professor made it easy to understand. She works until you understand. Sometimes it may seem as if she is going fast but it is only because she is passionate about the subject. I would definitely recommend anyone to take her.

Mrs. Joni is great. She loves her job and loves to help her students. You never actually need to go to class. She gives you study guides and underlines all the essentials. If you memorize only the underlined things, you will pass. There are a lot of SIMNET assignments at first, but they're easy. This is an easy, stress-free class. Take her!

Dr. Shreve teaches a subject that she seems to understand very well, but it is taught in a way that expects rote memorization. You aren't truly tested on understanding the underlying concepts, so you don't really learn them. You just learn how to do the analysis. Needs more in depth discussion of the underlying statistical analysis being performed.

Go to class and pay attention to her Moodle. Her practice tests are so helpful that you really don't need a book. Know how to do the practice tests backwards and forwards, know the study guide, and go to class and you will get an A+. If you put in the effort, you can get the grade.

Definitely take her. She's a great teacher that actually cares about her students and takes the time to explain anything you may not understand. Just keep up with the notes she posts on Moodle and the homework and you will do fine on the tests.

I took this as an online class. Sample Exams are a big bonus, and they really help. She is quick to respond to emails, and is very friendly. DO THE HOMEWORK, even though its not every day, it helps a lot.

Not the easiest class, but it's Data Mining so what can you expect? If you go to class and pay attention (and go to the test review) you'll make an A, but don't expect to coast through. Grades consist of 3 exams (100 points a piece), 3 homeworks (25 points total), and a project (25 points).

Took online. Great class, I learned a lot. Professor Shreve always replied to emails quickly, and was very helpful. Her tests were tricky, a lot of conceptual stuff, but she gives great study guides and practice tests. Do them!

She's the best. She really cares about you not only passing the class but understanding the material. I would recommend taking her online class and then just taking advantage of her office hours. I never went to class. She gave three online quizzes that she announced in class and were up for 24 hours so that's the only downside to missing class.

Great professor. Treats her students with absolute respect and has a voice that doesn't put you to sleep. The material she teaches may not be easy for everyone but she will definitely give you the information that is vital to pass the class. Just pass attention, ask questions about anything you don't know, and practice for the tests.

Gave a lot of notes and resources and even recorded herself explaining. Honestly if i studied i would have gotten better grade, but she makes statistics understandable and with a lot of practice. Her notes and practice are enough for tests, and hw. Very nice and asks if you have questions. Makes something hard more understandable. Kind of monotone

Three tests and a final. Your final replaces your lower test grade. Went from a C- to a B in the class because of the final. You HAVE to study for this class. Honestly would recommend taking it in-class rather than online if you procrastinate until the last minute like I do. Ended up trying to cram the day before the tests and did not do well.

Take her online class. Its honestly not difficult. She posts practice tests before each one. Learn them, they are pretty much the real thing.

I took the online class and it was pretty easy but you do have to try to learn the material. She usually lets you come to her regular classes for the sample test review so definitely recommend going to those.

Took online and taking her again for 2001 online. Really nice, cares about her students, definitely recommend. If you watch her do the sample tests, she explains it well, and you'll do well on her tests. Not hard. 100% recommend, heard the other teachers suck.

Professor Joni is a good choice. Allowing you to replace your lowest graded test with the final assuming you did better on the final. She give practice exams before you are to take them and they are incredibly similar to the real test. She has also giving videos of her doing the practice exams. Good teacher.

Shreeve is an amazing teacher, honestly if you know someone in the online class she puts the breakdown of everything on there, even if you don't know anyone the only class that you actually need to attend are the ones before the test (review days), she breaks down everything you need to know for the test.

Professor Shreve has been my favorite professor at LSU! 100% recommend taking her for ISDS 2000 and 2001. I personally do not like online class, so I take her class face to face. Her lectures and very helpful and it makes doing the homework a lot easier. She usually puts videos from the online class on our Moodle page if you end up missing class!

So I had Professor Shreve for both ISDS 2000 and 2001 in the face to face class. She does a really good job making sure you understand the material. Goes through the study guides before the tests, tests are almost identical to the study guides. She also posts videos of her doing the practice test so you can follow along. Best option for stats @ LSU

Take her! She posts a word document before class of the material that will be covered during class. You can download the document and follow along during class and take notes on the side. She gives a practice exam before each test and goes over the solutions in detail. The exams are very much like the practice tests, so do them!

I personally don't care for the class but it was required. I took it online but she kept us updated every day and made sure we knew what was going on. She posted a lot of notes and videos for us to learn/prepare for the test. She created practice exams that were extremely helpful. I think she is the only teacher for the class but she is great

She is literally the most amazing professor and teacher I have had at LSU. She cares so genuinely, and she is willing to work with you. Literally WHAT an icon. Could note have been a better choice for ISDS 2000/2001.

Joni Shreve is an absolute gem of a teacher! Her lectures are SO HELPFUL and walk through everything step-by-step. She builds on all of the concepts to give you a firm understanding of Statistics and the amazing ways that it can be applied to everyday life. Her tests are completely fair and you will pass if you study.

ISDS 2001 in general is a tough class, but now that it is online it is even harder. However, Joni actually tried her best so I cant fault her there. Additionally, she gave an extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester which helped.

Shreve is a great professor. You really have to stay on top of new material because if you don't, you'll have no idea what's going on. Easy if you put in effort and pay attention. Very willing to help outside of class too.

If you need to take stats, definitely take Joni she is AMAZING. Her lectures are wonderful and she provides a practice exam and study guide for every test. The practice test is very similar to real test and there are no trick questions. I would definitely recommend her.

She gives SO MANY study tools like sample tests (with walkthrough solution videos), study guides, formula sheets, etc. Honestly, if you don't get an A in this class, you must not be trying at all. All tests are open note, so you can use her sample tests (which are very similar to the real test). If you want an A, take her class!

Took online so tests were basically open notes--no proctoring. She explains the chapters well in her lectures. I got her to push back a hw once b/c of bad weather. Gives unlimited attempts on hw questions. Gives more than enough practice problems before exams. 3 exams + a final + reading assignments and HW. Not a stressful class

Professor Shreve is hands down my favorite professor Ive had so far. Her lectures and clear and concise and she never tests on material she has not taught. Shes one of the few professors that actually care. 10/10 recommend shes great.

Class was 4 tests and some a few homeworks throughout the semester. The tests are open book/notes and she gives sample tests for each one that are very similar. If you do the practice tests (she has videos of how to work through them), and use them for the tests it's an easy A.

Best ISDS teacher ever. All the tests were open book, and plenty of time to finish. Reponds to your emails fast and really cares about helping her students. Homework is easy to finish and the bonus points at the end of the semester are just for completing a survey.

The best professor I have ever had at LSU. I had ISDS 2000 and ISDS 2001. She always responds to emails (if not, email again she will). VERY CARING. She understands when students are struggling, she has done all online so just ask to zoom call if you do not understand something/need help. THE BEST. Homework/tests for grades. no attendance.

Took her class online with in person exams and have done extremely well. She is a great teacher and gives practice exams with videos on how to do each problem. If you watch the lectures and put the effort in, you can do very well in this class. Homework only worth 10% of your overall grade. She responds to all emails and was extremely helpful

Great teacher! The practice tests she gives are very similar to the actual test, so if you do them and understand them there is no way you will fail the test. She post videos of how to do each problem on the practice test. Homework takes up time, but it's not hard and she's happy to help. Her only downfall is she does not put grades in.

Best prof I've ever had at LSU. Whoever gives her a bad rating either didn't try or never asked for help. She is always quick to respond to my emails and is always willing to help. You have to watch her lectures to pass, but once you understand them, you can do really well in this class. 3 exams, final, and homework grades. Wish i could take again

LOVED, Dr. Shreve! She is the best option for this course FOR SURE. Took it online, but she had everything very structured. She makes it so easy to get an A. Watching her videos is ESSENTIAL to doing good in this class. She was a little hard to get ahold of at times, but once she sees your emails, she is quite persistent in assisting you.

I took her previously and it was almost the same format. She releases material in either a MWF or T/Th format with lecture videos, notes, and extra practice problems. The practice exams and solutions that she gives us before the actual exams are super helpful. Prof Shreve responds to emails and she drops the lowest 3 homework grades on Connect.

Her exams are just like the sample exam she gives, if you study that and watch her lecture you should have a easy time passing. The first exam was the hardest, but after its all a breeze.

Joni Shreve is AMAZING! Take this class if you can. Im moving my schedule around to ensure that I can take her again. She responds to emails very quickly, she has very detailed lecture videos that are usually only about 30min. Ace the practice test and youll ace the exam. Practice tests are provided at least a week or two before the exam.

I took this class over the summer and had an exam every week. So, even on a time constraint, professor Shreve made this class really doable. She explains every problem thoroughly, has practice tests that are similar to the actual exams, and is well organized with well-explained lectures. I ended with an A because of her! She's great.

Shreve is the best ISDS professor for online. This was my 2nd semester with her. Make sure you watch her lecture videos they are the best learning tool for her class. There are a good amount of homeworks but it isnt too bad. 10/10 professor i love her.

Professor Shreve made a complex subject straightforward and easy to understand! All the material she posted online was helpful and relevant to the course. The grade was based pretty heavily on exams, but if you watch the online lectures and take time to prepare in advance, they aren't bad. Definitely recommend taking Professor Shreve!

As long as you watch her online lectures and understand the practice test you will pass the course. Homework consist of unlimited attempts. She doesn't allow makeup test as your final will replace your lowest grade. Make sure to study in advance if you really want to maximize your grade given a lot of her tests & final have info she's given prior.

Dr Shreve is sweet and always ready to help her students succeed. The lectures can be confusing but she does her best to simplify the material. She explains what we will be going over in class the night before and what our goals should be, which I found to be helpful. The class is only graded by homework and the four exams, so do well on the exams.

Even though this class was online, Professor Joni was really helpful and gave us practice tests which she worked out to help us. The homework and textbook are on McGraw-Hill. The homework is a little hard but you have unlimited attempts to get a 100%. Overall a really good class.

Joni Shreve is a very clear and concise professor and is an easygoing and willing-to-help teacher. Anything that goes wrong with the program or test she will correct and give credit. If you do the PRACTICE TEST that she. gives you will get an A they are identical just different numbers. Complete the practice test over and over again to do well.

I've taken her for multiple classes, and she is one of my favorites. In this class, you use software, so even though attendance is optional, it's very helpful to go and work through the notes with her. Open note exams and sample tests for practice. If you have questions, go to her office hours! She's v helpful. Great class, great prof.

Without a doubt, the best statistics professor at LSU. The notes she makes for each chapter is much easier to understand than the actual chapter itself. This class does take some thinking and ability to understand new software but Dr. Shreve does an amazing job guiding you through it. QUEEN JONI! Go to class, she walks thru all the problems you'll see on the test and explains it well. Tests are open everything, but still prepare for them. Practice tests are v similar to exams, but also review ur class notes. Lots of in-class practice which is great. Easy A with some effort. Go to office hours if u have any questions.

Study the practice test she gives before every exam. It's, for the most part, what you should expect on the test. Her Moodle page is all over the place and the HW she assigns is pretty irrelevant, but besides that, she is a great Professor.

Best ISDS teacher for 2000 and 2001. Her class is amazing and I wish she taught more classes. Class grade is HW and 4 test, with final being able to replace lowest.

Prof Shreve is probably the best ISDS teacher. Her class was all online and the homework greatly helped with understanding the material. Her pre-tests are very similar to the tests and help you understand the material better. All tests are in Himes. I don't like ISDS, but she makes the course more enjoyable!

Had for ISDS 2011 and she was super helpful and always responded to emails. Class was straight forward as long as you kept up with assignments. Word docs are always old (and formatted weird) and non-compatible with newer versions so you have to make your own docs. Posts practice tests and study guides that are almost identical to the exams

She really makes isds straightforward and easy to learn. She posts her lectures on moodle and if you watch them all and do her practice tests its pretty much impossible to fail the exams

She is just a queen. She has all her class content labeled by date so if you need to go back and review it all there. Class structure is very straightforward. Only one extra credit but she does drop lowest grade on hw/ap so make sure you are on top of hw and review!!

Easy. Great instructor. Was always so prepared for the tests just by going to class. Only complaint is that it is genuinely not easy to get an A because there are very few assignments and exams.

Incredible professor, truly a very smart woman who cares about her students. Sometimes she makes statistics in class by asking questions to students and solves them for the class. She makes the class very easy to understand and as long as you put in the work to practice, it is very manageable.

Its a lot of homework however Shreve is the best teacher!! She is so good at explaining what you need to know. She also breaks down really tough statistics concepts and makes them understandable. She is empathetic. She will work with you. She was the best! And I get statistics now thanks to her!!
