Great teacher...Nice. Gives a great review before exams, and curves a little as well. Definately take his class...
Great Professor. Really funny and really cool. His exams have a long of questions but they are pretty easy if you study. He also gives great reviews before exams. Must take this class with Jordan Atzeff.
Mr. Atzef is very cool. He is very nice and his lectures aren't that bad. I think his tests are a little difficult due to the wording so you need to study. I personally dont think that he is very knowledgeable about law compared to the average lawyer.
Excellent teacher. Test questions can be tricky. Tells corny jokes but enjoys teaching so you don't feel as if your a burden on him. Read the text but mainly the parts he goes over in class.
atzeff is the man. he pulls everything STRAIGHT from the book, no gray area. tests are long but questions are repetitive and simple if you read the book. i actually stayed awake in this class haha
he's makes the class really simple and straight forward and is pretty generous with grades.
Straightforward and passes anyone unless you score under 50%
he's a good guy. bleh.
Great teacher. His classes are interesting. It might take a few weeks to understand his humor but he is actually a pretty funny guy. I enjoyed his class
Lectures are very helpful, only need to read book to go over what he lectured in detail, curves grade according to highest score on exam, funny man. 3 exams only. I didn't read the book and got a B.
I would take this prof. again. His stuff is just pretty much common sense. For exams just go to the review and he pretty much covers everything that you need to know, he also curves. To me it was a very laid back class, which sometimes was a bit boring. He also lets you out early sometimes especially when he has a case that morning.
Hes a lawyer!! He is somewhat intimidating and likes to pick on students when they least expect it. His lectures are interesting but don't really follow a format, he never writes on the board. He sometimes gives an outline, which you have to read the book to fill out. 3 tests and he curves, a bit biast
Horribly unorganized lectures, he just goes on and on. I didn't read the book or leactures and I was able to do well in the class. If you get the basic concepts you should do fine, tests are curved.
At first, the class was interesting b/c he gave examples to illustrate his lectures, which made the concept easier to understand. If you are a person who do not like to take a class that is based on 2 exams and final that are curved, I highly suggest that you take this class with another professor who gives HW, etc..., b/c I wish I did.
This guy has close to no morality but I love it, it makes things a little more interesting. Although his lectures are unstructured and never uses the board, he is constantly stresses the important points and has his own personal stories to help you remember. As long as you go to class and the review sessions, its no big deal.
His class was sometimes fun and interesting, but most of the time it was boring. You take notes from his lectures and usually get to leave early. Its important to read the textbook and study notes for exams. His exams are real life questions and applying the law to them.
Class is based on 3 tests. It kind of sucks cause there is so much to study for. Make sure to review after each lecture so studying for the exams are not stressful. No homework, I got a A. Make sure you know the material.
Great teacher! Hilarious if you like dry humor. I learned a ton and he relates it to real life. Obviously a good lawyer because he takes on expensive clients. Tests are tricky but it was my least stressed class. Got a B
amazing teacher!! makes the class so interesting. relates the information to actual cases that hes had as a lawyer. take him! easy b
This guy is a total breeze. Such a softy. He thinks hes funny but most the time the only laugh he gets from his jokes is his own. He relates the material to real life experiences. Easy A if you attend class.
Such an interesting class. There's a lot to learn and remember, but as long as you go to class and take notes it's easy concepts. He's interesting and does a good job teaching the material. Not much textbook use, except for briefing cases (and the textbook is expensive). Overall good professor, I would recommend taking.
This class is based off tests only. He gives 75 difficult questions and many are paragraphs, there isn't enough time to fully understand the questions. Thought I was doing fine and ended up getting a D. Atzeff is nice but I barely learned anything. Take Charles Smith if you can!
Best Professor ever!! Easy class his so interesting take good notes Easy A. Dont buy the book its expensive and not worth it, attend class its helpful. HE CURVES TESTS
He's an old fashion professor: 110% oral lectures. Take detailed notes and use his outlines (online) to organize his lecture. Ask, ask, ask any topics you don't understand. Two exams and less than five hw assignments. Exams are 70-85 questions long, and are tricky. He does curve. Hardly used the text. Split the cost with a buddy.
This professor was my worst this semester. I have high gpa and was barely able to pass this course. He rambles on and your whole grade is based upon 3 tests which are difficult and do not relate well to what was discussed in class. Highly suggest finding someone different...
He lectures only but he provides outlines that have the concepts that will be on the exams. The tests are hard and can be confusing but only if you do not read/study the textbook or pay attention in class. Plus he curves generously. I earned a 84% in the class but I got an A.
This professor was very difficult because he used no visual aid other than unorganized outlines that he made that you have to bring to class yourself. He talks so fast and if you don't understand it goes right over your head. He also gets frustrated when you stop and ask him questions. No homework, never used the book. At least he curves.
I like him. He's a good guy. His teaching style is not for everyone because there is no powerpoint. He provides lecture notes online. I liked his real life examples because they made the concepts easier to remember. He comes off a little strong, but you soon realize he just has a dry sense of humor.
Lectures are interesting most of the time. 2 exams 85 quetsions, 1 final 70 questions, and a couple of hw worth little to no points. He just gives you 2/3 points. 2 quizzes that are worth the same as hw. It's mostly exams for the class. He'll curve exams. Exams are application problems. Funny guy. Class structure just seems a little unorganized.
Flies through all information in lectures, I had to use the book to keep up. Doesn't use ANY visual aid, kind of unorganized with lectures. Curves exams, but they're basically you're entire class grade. VERY confusing and difficult exams. I attended every class and still found the concepts difficult to grasp.
I liked his class because it was the right amount of challenge. I barely passed but I think he's a good professor overall. Your grade is made up of three exams. He has small assignments but he does that to help your grade. I would recommend bringing a laptop or voice recorder and using the outlines. Go to his office hours! You need the book.
I hated going to this class. The material wasn't necessarily difficult to comprehend and you can get a good grade if you study. The problem is the professor's teaching style. He asks very broad questions but expects very specific answers. There are only a few quizzes, but he wasn't very helpful when I asked for help. You will butt heads
This class was hard. the material is not relatively hard, but his teaching style is very confusing. His lectures were not well organized and the chapters were different from the book. His questions on quizzes and exams are too broad to answer specifically. I barely passed and I thought I was going to fail (Big curve). Don't recommend him at all.
He is a really sweet guy, he really tries hard to teach well. However, he doesn't have any sort of powerpoint presentations, he works off an outline which is alright. Luckily, he curves A LOT... and I mean A LOT. His tests are tough, but as long as you get a C, you will be fine. Nice fellow, but not great teaching skills.
He's great & all you ever need is to SHOW UP TO CLASS to get a good grade on the tests. His tests are 100% consistent with the reading + lectures. No hmwk! Don't expect to get an AB if you miss class like most students do. Seriously an easy class & starting to think lots of ppl writing bad reviews here are kinda lazy. Curves a grade higher.
Be ready to read "everything" in the book. The guideline Teacher Atzeff hands out is just a bullet pointtopic that you should be reading in the textbook. Remember, he is here to help YOU. Start studying for the midterm and final EARLY, there is a lot of topics covered in lecture. Study guides are found on titan online. STUDY! Study! Study!
He tried to make it a good class. the lecture hall was way too big for the subject and it was tough to pay attention. 3 Exams and a few quizzes. Long lectures and broad powerpoint. Didn't need the book at all, notes are enough to do well
Jordan is very old-fashioned in his approach. Lectures are based off the textbook and his personal experience. No Power Points. He provides outlines that are unorganized and hard to tailor to his lecture. He is a tough grader; however, he does curve your total grade 10% at the end of the semester.
I hated his teaching style. he tries to relate the material to his own personal experience, as a lawyer, but his tangents make the lecture go off topic too often. Making the the lecture hard to follow. just very unorganized. your grade is made up of three exams and a couple of quizzes, asking broad questions lookin for a specific answer
Atzeff is a very old-fashioned teacher. He had outlines of the chapters and that's it. His lectures are closely related to the book. He relates a lot of the chapters to his own career which makes it easy to remember during the test. His lectures were very long, but I felt like I was able to learn a lot from him. He also curves a lot.
All tests based on lecture. He suggests to read the book, but his lectures sometimes conflict with book info. Take clear notes and study off of them. Barely any homework; grade is all based on tests and a few quizzes.
If you like reading everything in the book then this is your guy. Took this class with Jordan and I was completely loss. He lectures for most of the class with a guide he provides on Titanium. Tests are long. 2 midterms (85 questions) 1 final (70 questions). BIG curve. He is a very nice guy but just went to fast for me.
Jordan Atzeff is an amazing professor. I was nervous about his class because of the previous reviews. Atzeff truly cares for his students! He lectures everything that is on the test, until he is blue in the face!! He really wants every student to understand!! I rented the book, but everything on the test is from LECTURE!!!.. EASY B
Even though the lectures were long, the semester went by really quickly. I actually learned a lot from his lectures. He uses examples from his previous cases and applies it to the lectures. If you need help, ask him. I would recommend voice recording the lectures just incase you forgot something. Smart man, CSUF needs more professors like him
Class is based on two midterms (85 questions) and a final (70 questions). Lectures the whole class but makes them interesting because of the real life examples he uses. He may seem intimating but he is really a nice guy. Provides an outline of notes on Titanium (bring laptop and just add to the notes). Atzeff truly cares about his students.
Seriously dont take him. I failed this class and now I cant declare. I got A and B in my other classes but this one is killer. Save yourself the trouble and get someone else. Makes the class and learning confusing even with the outline. take this at a JC
He has a ton of experience from being a lawyer for decades. He loves teaching the class and will even call you personally to help you out if you a struggling. Even with all this though, he definitely does make the class tough. Exams are extremely hard, but he makes a generous curve to make up for it. Studying is necessary, but he you will like him!
This Professor is literally caring and down to earth. He provides you a lecture outline for each chapter and he reviews it in class thoroughly and as detailed as possible. Best thing is, he uses his real life examples to apply it to lectures in order for students to understand the concept. The material is tough, but Atzeff will help you grasp it!
You need to read the material before class and listen to lectures. No need to write notes because he provides you with outlines. Tests are very hard but curved. He is an experienced professional and professor. If you like law, you can learn a lot from this class. If you don't like law, you can still pass the class if you try.
As long as you listen to and understand his lectures you'll be able to get an A in the class. Loved his funny real life experiences ! I never enjoyed law but I enjoyed this class. He changed the class to 3 midterms and the final though. Best thing, he curves.
Show up to class and print out his notes. His notes are really all you need to study for exams. He also curves test grades.
Really knowledgeable professor. Tests are weighted heavy. All of them are multiple choice. Non-cumulative final. Has quizzes that are not on the syllabus but he'll give you the notice several classes before the quiz. Has cases that are worth three points. If you go to his office hours, he'll tell you exactly what he's looking for. Take him
3 exams and a final are the main components of your grade. He's pretty funny and his curves for grading are quite generous. As long as you pay attention and review his outlines the class is doable.
Such a nice guy. He tries to make it interesting and encourages questions. Curves hard.
Atzeff is a great, very knowledgeable professor. He lectures every class and passes around a sign-in sheet. If you miss too many lectures you'll lose points (apparently). The tests are tricky but the curve is a huge help and coming to class will make it much easier to get a good grade. I only read the book before the first test and did fine.
He's very passionate about the subject and tries to keep the subject entertaining because it's a difficult subject to grasp. Exams are difficult, but he gives generous curves. 3 exams with 70 questions. He provides notes for you, so if you study that and show up to lectures; You will ace this class.
I've never written one of these before but after my 4th semester, I can confidently say that he is my favorite professor. He's very passionate and knowledgable about the subject and he's very sweet and cares about his students. The material of the class in itself is difficult, but it's curved. I actually looked forward to coming to this class
Professor Atzeff is a very great professor. He is extremely knowledgeable and a very funny guy. He has 3 test and a final; he curves after each one. He rn courages you to ask him questions and very helpful if you email him. As long as you read the outlines he gives you, the class is easy.
Boring subject, but he makes it entertaining where he can. It's a lot of subject to cover and study, but he curves A LOT. W/o curve I got an 80%, but with the curve I got an A. Don't think you need the textbook, study lecture notes on titanium. Easy to pass, but you have to work for an A. Barely any hw, just quiz and test. Funny, likable professor.
Great professor who cares about his students. Textbook is not needed to pass this class, all needed information is given during lecture and is online. Material can get boring, but make sure you are taking good notes. Material can be hard to memorize but he curves test.
attend class, take notes (esp. his examples) & you will pass. very lecture heavy n it can get boring but his examples make it pretty interesting. he really knows the material!! exams are about 70 questions but he curves it and gives a study guide/outline. book is not needed because he gives you all you need to know in class. i would recommend!!!
Atzeff is amazing! The content for the course could be so difficult but he makes it easy through personal examples. He knows his stuff so dont be afraid to ask him questions. His exams are more difficult than average, but his curve is extremely generous. The textbook isnt necessary. Just pay attention in class and youll do well.
Professor Atzeff is hilarious and amazing!! He may have super hard exams but has a generous curve and makes sure that you understand the materials. If you still don't understand the concepts, I would go to his office hours. I unfortunately got a C in this course but it's definitely doable if you review the outlines!
One of the best professors at CSUF. Honestly, if you're looking for an easy A this is not the class for most people. I loved the material and the teaching method. He is very helpful, even outside of class. Highly recommend going review exams during office hours. Study his questions, so you can do better next time. STUDY the material.
Tests are super hard even though you studied. Subject is boring but he is boring too. Although he has outlines for chapters, when he lectures, he goes all over the places, disorganized.
I am an A student in most classes but this class is not an easy A as many people are mentioning here. He gives study guides/notes which he goes over in class. They aren't very useful b/c the way he words questions on tests are very confusing. Studying those notes is not useful about 50% of the time. You need to understand subject in order to pass.
No homework, just graded on quizzes and exams on Titanium (no proctorio). Creates outlines to lecture from, and everything from quizzes/exams are from those lectures/outlines. Calls on students to answer questions. Fair grader and overall a straightforward class, I liked him as a professor.
No powerpoints for his lectures, just outlines to study but those arent much help. Definitely read chapters and make notes before lecture, he picks on people to answer questions. Tests are too long & wordy for the amount of time given. Out of the overall points for the class I shouldve gotten a B (80%), but based off his curve it put me at a C.
Professor Atzeff was overall really cool. He knows a lot about management and law which gave us a lot of information. He's pretty old school and didn't use powerpoints for his online classes, but rather just spoke to the screen which made it a bit difficult to pay attention. Nonetheless, chill class and easy exams if you pay attention. No hw! Take!
He try's his best to make a boring subject interesting. Your grade consists of 3 quizzes, 3 exams, and 1 final. No homework! Lectures can be difficult to follow as he does not use power point, but he provides notes for every chapter you can access anytime online. Not an easy subject to understand, but definitely passible if you put in the work.
He is an amazing Professor! 3 exams including a noncumulative final. The class is a bit hard as it is set up like a law school course, but he makes it so simple for students to understand. You have to read and brief court cases out of the book, so you will need the book. He does curve! He wants all his students to pass.
Professor Atzeff is an okay teacher. Has typed up notes that he uses for his lectures (no PowerPoints). No homework. Some quizzes and 3 exams and a final. Exam averages are always low. He seems to like to schedule exams the day after breaks/special days. Had an exam the day after Halloween. Also had exam the day after Thanksgiving break... :/
Only 3 exams and a final with 2 or 3 homework handouts. Know that averages for all of these are low, which is why he gives the most insane curve I've ever seen from any professor. The curve is what makes his class an easy one, but the tests are pretty tough. It's hard to explain but he talks in run-on sentences. His lectures are hard to follow.
Amazing professor! Professor Atzeff is really funny and tries to make the class fun. The subject is boring since the material and cases are very outdated. It's important to read the cases as participation matters. 3 exams. no homework. exams are REALLY hard but don't worry. he PASSES everyone as long as you try.
Law is a challenging thing. Show up to class and try to learn the material. The tests are hard on purpose(I went to his office during hours) and said that it's because of a generous curve he gives. Try to stay above the average. No homework, only 2-3 handouts. Just quizzes, exams, and the final. Put your best effort and you should be good.
Super nice guy but super boring class. Attendance is required but lectures arent too helpful. Read the book to study for the exams. Exams are SUPER long and curves arent too helpful. Most people failed or barely passed. Grades are determined by exams and case studys worth little to your grade. If you're bad at test taking, avoid him.
This Professor was just amazing. He truly wanted his students to pass and enjoy the material. I recommend. Best law professor!
God bless this guy, I can tell he's really trying and enjoys what he does, but I could not stay awake during his lectures. The tests r SUPER difficult, but he gives a reaaaally generous curve (I had a C and he curved it to an A). I used practice tests from other profs to study for exams; in-class notes and textbook didn't really help me.
1. attendance does not matter, he just takes roles for no reason, and at the end of the semester, it doesn't change your grade. 2. Participation does not matter, he asks you to email him how many points you have, and everyone gets 100%, even those students that never spoke once in class. 3. Exams are wordy and difficult but you will pass
Decent professor. Light hw and few exams meant that most of the semester was breeze. Exams are difficult and confusing but he grades incredibly generously. If you try and put in the effort, he will reward you.
Lectures can be boring at times. Great guy and curves exams
Professor Atzeff is great, his lectures were a bit boring at times, but he truly tries his best to explain and get you to understand each topic. His exams are 80 questions each but he has a generous curve. Take his class.
SUPER BORING. He's a bit sassy, gets frustrated when the class doesn't know the answers. Course is difficult, especially when you don't know about gov/legal stuff. He posts class notes and reads thru/explains in depth each topic. TAKE NOTES ON HIS SIMPLIFIED EXPLANATIONS. You won't understand his class notes otherwise. No cheat sheet. Curves.
Professor Atzeff is extremely knowledgable, he is very passionate about law and teaching the class. The course itself is moderately difficult, you definitely have to attend class in order to pass. Exams are long and tricky, but his curves are VERY generous. If law is something you're interested in, he is for sure the professor to take.
He is pretty chill, but i felt dumb when I went to his office hour bc it felt like he talked down on me when I asked about going over a quiz. He uses his own outlines from the textbook, but I would still get the textbook incase. No hw but graded on 3 exams and a few quizzes, curves very nice tho. I went from a F to B+ from his final curve.
Intense lecturer which gets his point across well but may make it hard to remember details. Grade curve is insane, with most of the class failing by the final and most people passing despite low final grades. Get ready to read and do a lot of work and studying if you don't want to pray for the unknown curve, definitely too hard as a side class.
Atzeff gives very good lectures but the information might be a lot to take in at once. I appreciate that there is no busy work and the course is basically quizzes and exams. Attendance might not be graded but going to class is very beneficial. Grading criteria is not very clear or communicated well but the curves for exams are pretty generous.
Prof Atzeff was very nice and aware his class material was boring. He jokes around and gives examples of his own cases when teaching. The class was tough, but he curves VERY generously. He doesn't explain the curve or reflect it on Canvas, so it's difficult to know where you stand. In my class, 73%+ was an A. Sends a new curve after each exam.
Super chill dude. Attendance is said to be graded but my class wasn't. I showed up to class only a handful of times, but when I did he was very clear in explaining cases. I didn't go to class and I taught myself, but I would go if I had him again. Passes mostly everyone, as long as you try. Would strongly recommend him.
