She made lecture interactive and interesting however, she always seemed to rush to get all of the material for lecture done on time. Tests were fair and as long as you studied the videos, it was very much doable especially since her lectures just reinforced what the videos taught. she is a great lecturer. only issue is that for unit3 she was out because she lost her voice for almost the entire unit. we had to watch lecture videos that didn't correspond to our class notes and when the time came to take that exam and students were complaining about it she sent an email basically saying she doesn't care bc we had the material.

Axelson made orgo an amazing experience for me. Her lecture style was approachable and well-paced. She presented helpful study skills, provided countless resources and practice, and organized TA-led review sessions. She cares deeply about her students and I truly believe that anyone can succeed in this class with even an average amount of effort.

While this is a difficult class, the way that Axelson teaches makes it so much easier to succeed. Her online lectures are so helpful and she provides SO MANY extra practice that will have you completely prepared for the exams. If you are willing to use the practice she offers and work hard, you will do just fine in the course.

She's a cool professor but man those exams are mad hard and graded maddd hard imo. Other than that the class is fine she just talks really fast in lecture, so might have to rewatch them online. only 1/5 star because of the difficulty of the exams but lowest scores dropped so that's a positive I guess lol.

She is the first chem prof who has ever seemed to care about her students, and the class is designed to help you learn and do well. It is still organic chem, and is not an easy course, but it is not designed to fail students. She lectured in costumes to emphasize certain concepts, and it was very clear what we needed to know to succeed.

Dr. Axelson is amazing. She is very organized and lays out a weekly outline for all assignments and pre-lecture videos so the class is super easy to follow. She gives lots and lots of optional practice problems and many ways to exam-prep, including 6 practice exams to try. She's also super engaging and gives great lectures so I highly recommend.

I really liked her as a professor but had a very difficult time with the course material. She offers a lot of help and practice opportunities, though. I unfortunately had to take the course online because it was all that was left, I would 10000000% recommend in-person classes!! Discussion sessions can be helpful if you have a good TA and group.

I loved having Dr. Axelson. In an 8AM lecture, she was able to keep me engaged and awake with her fun spin on orgo. The content/exams were difficult, but extra credit and a test drop to make up for it. Dr. Axelson has made this class no harder than it needs to be. One of my favorite professors this semester because she was so fun and knowledgeable.

Literally the best chem instructor I have ever had. She's put in so much effort to make the tough class fun and engaging. Provides a lot of resources and is accessible outside of class. She even gives a grace period for ALEKS homework. I don't understand why she's still a senior lecturer, Dr. Axelson deserves a position of professor.

The structure of the course is very organized, and her lectures are phenomenal. I was hoping to earn a higher grade, although I only have myself to blame for not taking advantage of all resources. One of the best at UIUC! Extremely helpful, great lectures and plenty of practice material. Lots of study resources and exams, and generous grading/drop policies. Wants you to succeed. Getting a good grade is very doable, but requires a LOT of time and work. Do all the extra practices, practice exams, and watch lecture videos. I

Shes good at explaining difficult concepts, but you have to practice them yourself. She gives good extra credit, and her exams are reasonable difficulty. Do all practice exams multiple times!!!

Literally has no respect for student's time. If you don't spend every minute studying for her class, you are done for. This would mean, stop spending time working on other courses too. She has the oddest policy where if even one person from her hundreds of students get a 100, the entire class suffers and gets no curve. Never again.
