Make sure to take notes.Anything that is written on the board will be in the test. He's also a very nice guy.
This was the most boring class i've ever taken in college. He made history such a burden. He said um.. alot and never really made his lectures quite clear. His test would have been easier if his lectures were more concrete. But he was a nice guy.
Very helpful and willing to work with you
He may be easy but I was prepared to blow my brains out from boredom.
He sucks.
He does a good job at putting someone to sleep!!.. Like really he sucks!!
Willing to work with you. Very nice guy. The class may be boring, but he provides exact information for his easy tests.
Boring but easy. He tells you exactly what you need to know for his tests, which consists of multiple choice, true/false, and an essay (which he gives to you the class before.) I would take him again.
Prepare for class to be boring! But he lets you out early every class and the tests are phenomenally easy! He tells you what the essay questions will be before the test and gives hints to what the other questions will be on. Mr. Begnaud gets a C+ or B- in my book
I think Begnaud is a great teacher. His class can be boring, but it is history. Take good notes and study. We never used the book. Tests are multiple choice with a few IDs. Just make sure you know the IDs, because he takes off points for leaving out something small. I would suggest taking him. He's an all around nice guy.
Boring. very Boring. instead of listening i counted how many times hed said um. it was um, alot, um. not to hard, and a nice guy, but history is not this boring.
He's a nice guy but can be a little boring. Doesn't teach from the book so I wouldn't even bother buying it. He reviews completely for the tests and they are very easy. Multiple choice, fill in the blank, and an essay. He'd also let us out early everyday. I'd definitely recommend him, especially during the summer.
He's a nice guy, but his lectures are rather boring. He doesn't go by the book, so go to class and take his notes. If you miss class, get someone else's notes! His tests are fairly easy, but his essay questions are kind of tricky.
I thought Begnaud was a great teacher. He got to the point and was able to answer all questions that were asked. His tests came straight from his notes. He was very laid back, and his class was enjoyable. He did say UM a lot, but I didn't find him boring at all.
Extremely easy teacher, but he is boring no matter how much you like history. And the repetitive use of "um" drove me crazy no matter if it gave me a chance to catch up with notes or not. Book is a waste of money except for writing the paper. Take him...easy A.
Very nice. Lectures are clear and he gives examples. Tells you everything he expects on the test. As long as you go to class, take notes, and study them, you should be fine.
If you need an easy elective take this class. you dont have to attend but you'll fail and you leave 10 min. early every class anyway. you don't need the book and he gives easy ex. credit. All in all it's a great gpa booster
This teacher is the****. He is very helpful and knows his history. He is a great teacher and his tests are rather easy. Some people say he is boring but he does talk nonstop and he likes to cut class short
As long as you go to class and take notes- you should pass. He tells you everything he expects on the test. Class was ended short almost every time.
DR. BEGNAUD IS BORING WITHOUT A DOUBT, BUT IF YOU ATTEND CLASS, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE NOTE (WHILE YOU'RE AWAKE), AND STUDY, YOU'LL DO GOOD IN HIS CLASS. DO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EXTRA POINT WORK AND ALSO PLEASE DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THE BOOK. HE WILL TELL YOU TO JUST FOLLOW HIS NOTES AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE.
Says UMM alot. His lectures are very boring. You have two test and a final, just make sure you do good on one of the test. Very nice guy. Overall i WOuld recommend him for a history teacher!!!!!
dude i LOVED him! i didnt mind going to this class at all. he lectures the whole time. make sure you write down what he puts on the board. he gives a very thorough review before the tests which are super easy. only 2 tests though so dont screw up, if you study the notes you WILL do good. i would take his class again any day!!! :)
straight forward teacher. Lots of notes on each test. Not too bad. he is interesting lol.
Does not use the text book. He lectures the whole class period. Be sure to take note of things he writes on the board; it'll probably be on the test. The tests are mult. choice, fill in the blank, and one discussion, which he gives to you prior to the test. Although somewhat boring, I would recommend. If you study, it's easy!
this guy is very boring, not a good teacher if you do not like history, says, "umm" a whole lot...he is also very monotone, does not use the book, and lectures a lot. i ended up dropping the class, because it was at 8 am, and i could barely stay awake.
He's monotone and says "ummm" alot but he's very knowledgable and it's easy to grasp concepts. Lots of notes that you MUST take to pass his tests, which are straight forward and easy. He basically tells you what's on the test a class period before. He's kinda boring, but he's not bad if you can manage to stay awake. Just text, that's what I did :)
he's monotone and doesn't seem to like to be in front of the class, but he's really nice and he's tests are pretty easy and straightforward.
there is something oddly hot about his mannerisms. i don't know what, but it's there. he's clear and tests/assignments couldn't be easier. attendance not mandatory, but if you dont have notes from lecture, you won't do too well. i got a C because i got cocky and didn't read over my notes b4 tests - which makes or breaks your grade. good class!
Or 102, I can't remember, but if you like history, he's a good professor.
This professor is extremely boring but is really easy. He is very good at lecturing but unfortunately says "uhh" and "umm" a whole lot. Even though he is very monotone, I could always take very good notes, which were a lot, and do decent on the tests. He is very nice and will help you out without hestitation if you have a problem.
Can we say, "boring?" He is a goooood teacher, just his voice will put anyone to sleep. Take notes and study those for the tests. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. Thats a waste of 100 dollars. He doesn't test from the book, but from the notes in class. STUDY THE NOTES. I got D's on all of my tests cuz i just didnt study hard enough. I regret that now...
BORINGG!!!..He makes you want to fall asleep. He say's um after every other word. My whole class about failed. I thought i had a D but he must have felt bad and gave me a C. Dont take him if you can switch out.
all we had was 3 tests and a bonus paper and I did horrible on the tests. It is NECESSARY to take notes and pay attention the ENTIRE TIME. seriously if you doze off for 3 minutes you're in trouble.
Boring. Says uh a lot. Take good notes. Don't buy book. He gives you the discussion questions. Make sure you know your PEOPLE and IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS--usually those are fill in the blanks on the test. Not hard, just study.
well um if you um take this um class be um prepared to um listen to um a lot of um ums so um beware
Fist of all he is a great teacher, but the information is boring as hell.If you are not a history major take 221 or 222.
He is not a bad teacher but he does say um a lot. Do buy the book because he gives quizes on a few reading assignments from the book.
Test come from lectures only. Quizzes come from the book. Quizzes are only five questions each and there are five quizzes given throughout the semester. Very boring voice and there is no discussion in class. He takes off points for misspelling people/places on the test.
Took the class my first semester here. I'm probably biased because I take extremely good notes, but the class was really easy. The test comes from the notes and the quizzes from the book. He does say "uh" a lot but it's not distracting once he starts teaching. Funny and I really loved having him teach me.
Easiest teacher EVER! He says "UM" every two seconds but you notice it less as the semester goes on. Tests come strictly from lectures and include multiple choice, fill in the black (w/ word bank), and short answer essay. On the essay, write EVERYTHING you know about the topic! He only uses the book for quizzes. Use your laptop to take notes!
Says "um" frequently and speaks in monotone but he is very nice. Take lots of notes, the test comes straight from his lectures. For the essay portion of his exam, write as much as you can about the topic. Gives quizzes on reading assignments from the book. Also, I had an older volume of the book required for the class and the material was the same.
Very monotoned but a very nice man, as long as you take notes you should be fine.
Be prepared for straight note taking the entire class. Tests comes from the notes. Tests are easy. Go to class and you will get an easy A. He rarely starts class on time and always lets the class out early. Nice mellow guy.
Monotone speaker but the class isn't all that boring. Lectures all class every class, and the tests come straight from that. Tests aren't difficult. They consist of multiple choice, fill in the blank with a word bank, and a choice between different essay topics which he gives you before the actual test. The book is used only for quizes.
Very easy teacher. Talks in a monotone voice and says "um" a lot, but you can tell that he really knows his stuff and likes history. As long as you take notes you should be fine. His tests are easy. I got a B even though I fell asleep constantly (on accident).
Mr.Begnaud is such a cool guy. He is really nice and his tests are super easy! Just take notes and you will do good. His final was a breeze as well. I would recommend him to anyone.
Write down almost everything he says and do the reading. If you do that, you can be sure that you will pass. The exams come from short readings and what he says in class. A bunch of A's and B's when he gives the papers back (of course he doesn't say the grades out loud but just look around). On the writing part, write all he said about the topic!!
I loved him! Very nice man, and he really knows his history. Lectures the entire class, and tests are straight from the notes and short readings. Two tests and a final exam. Says "um" extremely often, but it becomes less and less noticeable throughout the semester. I would definitely recommend him! Pretty easy class if you actually attend.
Good teacher! I got a C because the only time I studied was right before the test. 4 tests the entire semester and that was it. The class was so simple, but a little boring. I say don't get the book. I opened mine twice, so you could get a friend to text pics of the one or two paragraphs he MIGHT give you to read. Overall great guy!
Easy and great class. His tests come straight from his lectures. One or two questions from small assigned readings. Take him if you can.
Very boring and monotone but the class is very easy. As long as you show up to class and notes you will do fine. The test comes straight from the notes. He gives some readings from the book but not much. If you want an easy grade take him.
He was really monotone. He doesn't use Moodle which sucks. His tests are easy as long as you go to class and take notes and read the random parts of the book that he assigns. He only lectures. He never gave quizzes, but gave 3 tests including the final. It was an easy A basically.
I made B's on the test but you really have to study the material and know it! He grades pretty tough on the essay responses. Attendance is key to passing and also taking good notes! He is very monotone and boring but you get used of it after a while.
He is really boring at times and is hard to get into at first but once he warms up and feels comfortable, he isn't bad. Lays all the info out very simply and though it was a night class, we only met for about an hour and a half a week. Tests are pretty easy but you need to study. He's super nice and laid back. I'd take him again
He is a good professor, he knows the material very well. I enjoyed his lectures, but he can be monotone and it's easy to get distracted. I would take him again, I took his class as a History elective. Very few quizzes, no need to buy the book- just borrow someone else's before class.
I LOVE THIS MAN. Not only is he a wonderful professor, but he is so cute. He's old and tries to make jokes that are not funny but he tries. He is very clear about the material and also knows it very well. He does not offer extra help unless you ask. He gives several quizzes from the textbook for extra points.
Hated this class. I'm a college senior and he made HIST 101 one of the toughest courses of my semester. He very boring and extremely monotone, and he also doesn't give many opportunities for grades. Don't purchase the book - borrow it from someone else. You will barely use it. Be prepared to take notes. The one perk was we always got out early.
This class is so easy. He speaks kind of slow, but doesn't usually keep you the whole class period. 3 EASY exams if you read your notes from the lectures a few times (really concerned that people have said tests were hard). 5 quizzes from short passages in the book (the only time you use the book). Overall good professor and I recommend him.
Took LOTSSSS of notes, 3-4 pages every class. He talks and you write. Test are a little tough if you don't review your notes. Never keeps you for the whole class period. Overall he is a good person, very nice. Calls role every class, so I would recommend you not skip because you will miss a lot of notes.
Always shows up late and finishes early. Write everything he says, look over your notes before tests, and it's an easy A. Only had 3 tests and he tells you what to expect/study on them. Also try to make a friend with the textbook that can send you pictures of the readings because sometimes he throws in questions from there.
Okay so his lectures are long & so very nothing but his lectures are definitely on the test. Everything he teaches is on the test. The bad part about this class is that he ONLY gives 3 tests & THATS IT, no quizzes, no extra points, nothing. No room for mess ups. He is helpful if you ask him a question & is very respectful & nice. I would recommend.
hes an okay teacher. if he doesn't feel like lecturing or feels like he's talked enough hell let you leave early. he says "um" ALOT. hell give you notes on what you need to know but i read the chapters the test was on because he doesn't give you everything.
Extremely monotonous. I personally like history and this class bored me to tears. The material could have been interesting but wasn't given in a manner that interested me at all. Very vague on what's on tests and there are only two tests and then the final and no other grades which means pretty much no room for error.
Can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed this class! Many say he is boring, but I learned so much in his class. Take him, you won't regret it!
He is very straightforward in a boring type of way, but teaches everything on the test, so no surprises. I took the TR class and every class he let us leave about 25 minutes early everyday. Tells us exactly what will be on the test including essay questions and the final. Yes, he does speak in a somewhat monotone voice, but I reccomend his class.
I took his night class for 3 hours and he always let us leave before the time was up. He gave 3 exams and were all very straightforward. As long as you go to class and take notes, you can easily make an A. He also gives a few quizzes on paragraphs from the textbook. Read the paragraph before class and you'll be fine. Sure he is monotone, but easy A
best history professor. Lpng lectures but take notes and you should be good.
Good teacher, taking notes is hard if you are hand writing because one minute he changes the topic so you think you are done with that part but then he comes back to the first topic. So because of that the notes are un organized.
He makes history a lot easier to grasp and I found I remembered everything better than with any other professor. He's very straightforward in a boring way, but if you just go to class and pay attention/take notes, the tests are simple and barely any studying is required. I didn't get the book or study for anything besides the final and made an A
Lectures are the basis of every test. Come to class and take decent notes and you'll do fine. I took him for a 1hr 15min class but he rarely kept us longer than 45 minutes. He's a monotonous speaker, but very clear in what he's trying to say. Would recommend.
Simply go to class and take notes and you will do fine. Only gave two tests and the final was not cumulative. His lectures can get boring at times, but overall pretty easy. Let class out early very often. Would definitely recommend!
Boring presentation of lecture material - interesting material. Study your butt off directly from the notes, and you'll make an A, easy. You DO need to study though. The book isnt necessary besides for the quizzes - just ask someone to take a picture of the ONE page he gives the quiz from. Great dude.
Really straight forward. Voice is monotone so beware. Tests come straight from notes and he does a review before test. Gives quizzes on small readings from text book. Just pay attention and write down everything he says. (Don't have to write term paper)
Loved him! He repeats himself throughout the lecture, and nothing is ever sneaked onto the test. He lets you know what the essay question options will be about, so just memorize everything about one or two of those topics and you'll be fine. The quizzes are easy if you read the little section (tip: if it mentions a person, it will be on the quiz).
Some people may find his lectures boring, but the material was interesting to me so it was easy for me to understand. The tests were very straight forward and right from the lecture notes. He tells you exactly what the essay questions will be on. The quizzes are easy as long as you remember the specifics from the readings.
Begnaud is suuuuuuper laid back and often lets the class out early. Read the assigned readings bc some test questions will be taken from the readings. The class really isnt hard, just take notes and review before the test (he dedicates a class session for review too).
He only gives lectures so you must come to class and take notes. The book was only used for extra reading assignments for the test. He only gives three test grades so be sure to study ahead for the test. His test aren't really hard as long as you know the information.
He is a great teacher, extremely knowledgeable. Hes also pretty boring, but if you stay awake, take notes, and make flash cards (I recommend quizlet) -youll pass. 3 tests: multiple choice with fill in the blank and a short essay. Youll rarely use the textbook, but he usually uses vocab from the short readings as the fill in the blanks.
Mr. Begnaud was a great professor! He does not use powerpoint, he only stands in front of the class and just talks. It's like listening to a really long story about 1700's United States. Very interesting and he is so knowledgable! Using my laptop for notes made it very easy. Tests are very straightforward and the only grades for the class!
It sucks to have a professor that doesn't cares about their students grades or them learning. Many students voiced their concerned about his course and he did not work with his students. His class is very boring, lectures are extremely heavy and his voice is annoying. He only gives a few grades and doesn't drop the lowest.
Professor Begnaud only lectures, no powerpoints. Hes a little monotone but very easy to follow. Take good notes while he talks and his tests come straight from what he says. Pulls a few questions on each test out of a section or two out of the textbook. Tests arent hard as long as you make time to study, write as much as you can for the essay Qs
If you are not a good test taker do not take him! He gives three tests during the semester and no other grades. He was not willing to work with me, despite me putting in an effort. His lectures are dry and boring.
Although he is extremely boring and monotone, I'd take his class again (just not 8am). There are two tests and a final, but the information is basic as long as you go to class and go over your notes. We never stayed the entire class and he also reviews the day before the test (which is basically 15 minutes of him saying exactly what to know).
He was completely aweful. He only has 3 grades: 2 tests and a final. He does not offer extra credit so if you have to take him make sure you know everything from his lectures because he will try to trick you on the test.
i liked Mr. Begnaud. He showed up everyday and lectured like he is telling a story. Very straightforward in his information. Two test and a final with 5 quizzes is the only points throughout the semester. Reviews for the test the class before the test which is everything that will be on the test. We usually always got out 15-30 minutes early.
Not a bad class, but there are better options. Very lecture heavy and only has 2 tests and a final. There are 5 quizzes as well, but they are worth almost nothing and wont help your grade.
Really cool professor. Down to earth and relaxed, his way of teaching is a bit odd. He only writes a few things on the board and talks for about 20-30 minutes, sometimes not about the topic. Got out of class about 20 minutes early all the time.
Very nice man but very monotone when lecturing. We only had 3 tests (100 pts each) & 5 quizzes (10 pts each) all semester, so only 350 points in the semester. He emails back pretty slowly. Test and quizzes aren't hard, but listening to his lectures helps alot on test. He lectures like he is telling a story, which helps make the lecture interesting.
I have really enjoyed this professor. He always ends class about 10-20 minutes early. He only gives a few quizzes and tests but if you go to class they are really easy. I think his lectures are very interesting. He is very understanding if you are absent and email him.
If you don't go to class, you will not pass. He is a really nice man, but is very monotone when lecturing, so it is hard to pay attention. Every class is a lecture. He gives five quizzes and three exams including the final. Most test don't make sense, because he tries to trick you. If I had to do History again, I would do online history.
Dr. Begnaud's a very chill instructor. I took his last course of the day, and he almost always let out at least ten minutes before class ended. He's not hard by any means. Just don't forget about the online quizzes. There's a book, but he only uses it for the online quizzes. The book by FAR is not mandatory. Just prepare enough and you'll pass.
Professor Begnaud's class is straightforward - lectures, tests, and quizzes. Boring at times, but engaging if you take good notes and use study tools like Quizlet or Unstuckstudy. Worth taking if you're willing to put in the work.
The tests are hard. They are multiple choice with a written responses but there's so much information to learn it's confusing on knowing what exactly will be on the test. The review days are only on what the topic of the lectures were about. Studying everything is the only way to pass the tests honestly
The class itself isn't stressful at all, but the professor is very monotone/boring so it's hard to pay attention the entire time. The material from the test comes from his lectures, so you must pay attention, and the tests are oddly tough, considering the way he teaches
