Dose not bother you about absences or lateness.Gives out sample test a week before test.He has a good sence of humor and makes the class fly by.
I took him for Stats and Algebra - He is a good prof and is very easy going. He also speaks in regular terms you can understand. I wish him the best of luck with his stats textbook
One of my favourite professors ever. I enjoyed the unconventional approach to statistics. Made it fun rather than boring. Loved him.
The best math professor I ever had!!! I thoroughly enjoyed his statistics class, and I don't even like math! He's not bad looking either!=)He makes math as fun and interesting as possible.
He has his own textbook which is exactly word for word what will be done in class. It makes it easy because if you miss a day or are unsure of what was done you can review and catch up.He curves the tests so that the average student will get a B.
worst professor...does not grade fairly...very proud of his book that took 3 weeks to get a final copy that was correct...went very slow first 2 weeks and then flew through hard material in the end....
He was absent from class multiple times. Late almost all the time. Took four weeks to grade a 20 question mult choice test. His book isn't anything to be bragging about. If you have to take MA 23, DONT TAKE NEUS!!!!
He is the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. He made math fun with his songs and games and I would love to take another class with him. If you need a teacher that goes slow he is the one for you. All around great teacher
Nice guy who will help you out with questions after class and also cares about you doing well in the class. Don't bother asking questions in class though as he seems to need an interpreter to understand the questions. Another math prof who is a master at math but maybe isn't cutout to be teaching.
Teacher was 15min. late for almost every class. Material was unclear and confusing. After three months of class, he did not know one person's name. He gave 20 question test and marked it right or wrong for long problems with multiple parts and steps. Never answered questions in class.
Nice guy but if you ask him a question that is not related to his Text book, he does not have a clue and blows you off.I thought his class was ok. He spent half the time fixes his text. I would try for another teacher but if he fits in your schedule it not all that bad.
Dr. Neus was the best math professor that I ever had. His tests were very fair because you knew exactly what would be on them. Also, he used his own book and thats where he took all of his questions from. Good book to. It gives Step by step answers. Very Helpfull.
I hate math and all math related things. I was scared to death about taking stats, but I need it to graduate. I took Dr. Neus cuz he fit into my schedule. I was overwhelmed at first cuz his syllubus was CRAZY, but as the semester went on, he took time to help me out with things and I got a good grade. If you try hard in the class he helps you.
Great teacher he goes slow and showes step by step how to slove the problems. I recomend him to anyone struggling with math like me. He is also very good looking.
Was very easy at the beginning of the semester but after he rushed through hard material. he gives outlines b4 any test but doesn't answer questions, he doesn't seem to understand what students ask. His tests are extremely hard, b4 the final he promised a review but told us he was sick, and didn't do it. probably not cutout to be a teacher.
Jordan Neus was very good to me. I have read what people wrote and they probably never went to class or failed so they have to leave negative stuff. He was a great teacher. Matter of Fact I have him again for Stats and I wouldn't want it any other way. Attractive also. Don't worry Jordan I got your back.

the guy is unorganized and is incredibly boring. makes no sense, and is more concerened with making his text book perfect than teaching the material in the class. i don't reccommend him at all. nice guy, just not a very good prof.
gave me the wrong grade and didn't return my calls to explain why i got the grade i got.
awsome professor but i had to drop his class
SHOOT YOURSELF - seriously this class is GPA suicide
Dr. Neus was cool. i hate statistics and was really scared about taking this class, sine i failed stats twice before with other teachers, but he went really slow and for the first time, I started to understand the basics. I like his handouts that he takes from his book because they are easier to use then the textbook. I would totally take him again
rigorous, uses applications, but heavy on proofs. Great teacher for thinkers!
I suck at math it is my worst subject. the highest grade i ever got was a D, until i took this class with Dr. neus. I passed and now i can go on to higher math classes and earn my degree. He was a good teacher because he answered my questions and gave me extra help if i needed it. I put alot of effort into this class, and so he made sure i learned.
i had to take this class, i had no choice. Dr. neus made it fun. he answered my questions and gave me the chance to do alot of extra credit which really made a difference. I am really bad at math and I already took this class before with other teachers. This was the first time i think i learned something. i passed and now i can take another class!
He is horrible, I do not recommend him at all. His teachings had nothing to do with his home work or his tests. His grading curve was unfair. I retook the class with a different proffessor and got and A. He was late to class most days or didn't show.
He was horrible
HE is a great professor. extremely helpful, good looking too, but yet he does not show interest in teaching the math to us, but i am taking an online course, so its not bad, except the online course is hard, but he helps a ton and i ask so many questions thats all that matters.
He is a very easy going teacher. Usually arrives 5-10 minutes late every class. Anyone can get an A in his class. He gives way to much extra credit and his projects are a joke.
I had a sever math block and this man was the construction crew. I thank him so much for having the patience to teach the way he does. I have a new confidence in mymath ability because of him.
Well i have him for a prerequis. course. He did not make attendance mandatory just didnt decide to tell us weeks later. Everything is online.HW Some Tests Quizzes. He can be superbly boring, i walk out of class a good 45 mins early everyday other wise id just jab the pen in my eye.Gets off topic easliy.Slow but good teacher.Very Slow. Will Help you.
he is a great professor...he likes the students to ask him question. HE IS so HELPFUL
He is a great teacher, and he will never stop helping you until he is 100% sure it has sunk in, even if it means taking up a whole class.
Neus was pretty cool. He didn't take attendance at all for Algebra 1, but you HAD to have all your work done by the end of the semester in order to pass. Almost all the homework was online. You must attend class to understand the material and if you didn't, he was really patient and helpful.
He is very very helpful. He goes at a slow pace and breaks it down to common sense.Makes math mean somethiung in the everyday world. He give homeworks online, n goes over any problems you would like. Took him over a winter session, and I am not even from his school. GREAT PROFESSOR! TAKE HIM..DONT HESITATE!!
Prof. is extremely helpful, will take all the time needed to fully explain any questions, all the homework is online, a couple tests were online. Very easy going teacher and explains how problems relate to real life or how you can apply certain things in the real world. Very good professor!
Hes a great professor... very nice and helpful.. he makes sure you understand everything!! TAKE HIM
Great teacher!! Easy to understand, innovative, makes the class fun and treats his students as adults. Attendance is not mandatory which is great!! The best thing about his class is that he shows how math is used in the real world. I liked very much his way of grading tests which one can take in a group or by him/herself. Overall, great teacher. A+
Great teacher!!!... He really knows how to make the topics relate to real life....He is also Very fair

The best thing about his class is that he shows how math is used in the real world. I liked very much his way of grading tests which one can take in a group or by him/herself. Overall, great teacher. very helpful....gives a lot of chances to raise your grade. Prepares you well for the test!!
Hes a great professor... very nice and helpful.. he makes sure you understand everything!! TAKE HIM
Only good things to say!
Wish he was teaching Calc next semester. Great guy, Really laid back, Fun teaching style. Take him
GOES OVER TOPICS AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED. dEFF GOES OVER EXACTLY WHAT WILL BE ON THE TEST WHICH IS AWSOME...ALL THE HW IS DONE ONLINE WITH A STEP BY STEP TEACHING TOOL IF YOU NEED IT ...
great teacher, i really recommend him
He spends a lot of class time sitting on his computer. He puts problems on the board and expects us to know how to do them without showing us anything. He is also easily distracted. We spent more than 5 class sessions of him talking about nothing to do with the class. I wouldnt recommend him if you actually want to understand the material.
worst teacher ive ever had. period.
By far the worst prof I have ever had. ALWAYS showed up late or just cancelled class. Has no idea what he was talking about and never took the time out to explain. I had to withdraw from his class because the tests he gave he never prepared anyone for so there was no chance of passing. AT ALL. whatever you do, do not take neus!
is a horrible teacher
he does not teach us enough at all..he expects us to know it without going over any of the problems
Worst professor I WOULD NOT recommend. Always cancels class with no warning and teaches his classes like an online class. Expects you to know without teaching and makes you feel stupid if you ask a question
He is a very nice man and very interesting. But he is NOT a good teacher. For stats 101 most of the semister we had to teach ourselves out of an unpublished book he wrote. The text book is a waste of money although he tells you to get it. He is very unorganized and does NOT i repeat DOES NOT teach well
WORST professor I've ever taken. I got an A in the course but it wasn't worth it. He tries to confuse you so he seems smarter and uses his own text book which is incomprehensible. Makes you buy the 100 book and you never open it once. If you can get out of taking him you should, he always gets his own work wrong on the board and on his tests
ALL THE GOOD CRITICS ARE HIM PEOPLE! hes horrible..absolute worst teacher. I have never wrote a review but needed to about him. He is a horrible teacher and doesnt explain anything. Thinks he the smartest out of all the teachers and has the worst case of the jitters. please i beg you not to take him
comments on his own ratemyprof becuz he nos what people are saying is true and hes embarassed!he is a terrible prof.teaches you nothing so it makes it impossible to pass whatever you do dont take him you will either fail becuz he didnt teach you anythin or you will withdraw and waste your money real idiot and makes you buy a 100 book you never use!
ever notice how the comments on here are copied from the other link with his name? he writes his own good comments!! hes terrible! not only that but he makes you waste 160 on a text you never use! im surprised he still has a job
I had a 3.7 gpa before i took his class...enough said
Horrible, stay away from this teacher as he does not even teach you. He talks about politics and never answers your questions. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER!!!!!!
Please, do not disregard these comments like I did. They are all true.
He promises the class things like not having a final exam, and then breaks those promises. The guy cannot communicate nor teach, and left everyone very confused. We also did not review. I would never take his class again.
NEVER!!!! STAY AWAY!! Not helpful, very surprised with final grade!!!!! Said there would not be a final at the beginning, then all of a sudden two weeks before the end he said we had to take a final.
Great class! Dr. Neus is an excellent professor. I like how he took input about what professions we were seeking in order to tailor this statistical problems to our fields of interest. The online HW and Tests are GREAT!
The math lab helped me a lot.
All he talks about is obama instead of teaching us about MATH.. Not a nice guy, and will not help you. Also, he said we weren't going to take a final, however two weeks before the end of the semester he told us there will now be a final. AVOID!!!!!!!!!!
I really don't like him, I cannot get why so many people enjoy his course. He eats during his lectures, he's always late to class, and gives weird names to the formulas which confused me. Don't take him!
Rambles on and on with topics that have nothing to do with math then forgets where he was during his lecture or mid problem non the less. Eats during every class. Gives no homework. Math lab is a must to pass this class
He makes the already difficult subject extremely hard. Includes topics above intro level & teaches different than the textbook. Just saw that he is teaching online so I wanted to warn people. I can't even imagine taking stat online with him.
nice and funny. dropps lowist grade. I didnt have to take final. worst thing is mymathlab program. bad dresser.
I took finite math mon-wed,he takes his time to expain the materials. Everytime a student say someting good or something he wants to hear, that student get a point. Do all of the hw,class participation, and 2 good test grade and you don't need to take the final. He is an exceent professor. You will learn and will do great.5 stars professors.
He's crystal clear with requirements. If you don't understand something or don't get it from the start, get extra help, say something. He teaches great, makes it easy to pass but if you want to jerk around - the choice is yours and you deserve what you get. He's fair, funny and takes no bull. Don't play him. Summer stats worth every minute!
Neus has written his own textbook which he uses in class. Although his class is challenging, it is straightforward to do well. He has a great sense of humor!
This wasn't an EASY A but an A is definitely possible. Grades are based on 4 components: pop quizzes, tests, class participation, and group projects. But the lowest component gets dropped. I took this class over a five week summer session and found that if one class was missed I was totally lost!
He seemed like a cool guy the first day, but don't be fooled. Looses focus easily. Doesn't really do much during class time and when you ask questions he'll probably tell you to look in the textbook(which he wrote so its no help at all). Stats takes a lot of understanding and memorizing and he is definitely not the teacher that will help you pass.
Do yourself a favor and take any other professor
Don't do this to yourself
Absolute WORST professor there can be. He constantly rambles about things that have no relevance to what he's teaching & when you don't understand something he won't help you. He'll tell u to look in the textbook(which he wrote) or look it up online. Really hope this man gets fired asap. I had a 4.0 gpa last year & I tried so hard &I still got a C
Participation counts! You receive 4 grades in the class, 3 exam grades and a participation grade, and he drops the lowest grade. You need to make sure you attend every class because the material is cumulative, but if you attend class, the professor does a great job explaining a difficult topic. Discusses mathematics and theory. Enjoyed the class.
Horrible horrible teacher. And he cries a lot while he teaches. Horrible.
Jordan Neus is a great professor. I would take him for Computer mathematics , and stats 1 and 2. He takes his time and explains everything very well. Nice guy and its a easy class to boost your GPA.
Took him online and was a big mistake, his online system helps a lot but you need to rely strictly on that, emailed the professor multiple times and rarely answered the questions I had, does Not want to help you even though in his introduction he gives you his contact info. Will need to spend hours doing the amount of work he assigns for online
He was an awful professor. Always talked about his uncle Louie and how lifes a crapschutte. He wrote his own book which sucks. He doesnt teach math at all. Just dont take him
Took his stats 101 and couldnt grasp anything the way he explained it. Hes really weird make the whole class feel awkward. He wrote his own textbook its terrible and cost me 45 bucks. Dont take this class unless youre a very very good student.
HE'S AWESOME!!!! very funny and not a tough grader at all ... I received an A ... just put in work and make sure you particapte !!!!!!!
Statistics is not an easy class, but Professor Neus makes it easy with his sense of humor. He is a good human being. He wants everyone to pass with a good grade. 2 exams, and 1 final which is not cumulative. Study hard for this class.
This professor loves to make everything more complicated than it needs to be and purposely makes the class more challenging than it already is. Textbook is written by him so it doesnt help. You will not pass if you dont read the textbook and he makes sure of it. Not recommended at all.
Absolutely TERRIBLE. This professor loves to make everything difficult on purpose and admits to it. He uses class time to talk about pointless things and then tells us to teach ourselves from the textbook that HE WROTE at home. Since its written by him it's terrible and hard to understand. Absolutely the worst math teacher I've ever had. DON'T TAKE
Two words: DISORGANIZED MESS. This isn't to say he is a utter trash heap of teacher - he is OK at it. The problem is when after the first two tests he suddenly has an epiphany - no longer will we use the textbook he told us was required - we will use videos and the second text that he said wasn't needed in the beginning of the semester. GOD BLESS.
I took his statistics 2 course and the first two tests were questions taken out of the textbook that he wrote himself, so you know what to expect. He drops the lowest test grade at the end of the semester out of three total tests; if your grade is high enough you don't have to show up for the final. Participation is a MUST; it can raise your grade!
Stats is hard. He knows this, so he wrote a book to give students a chance, as all the other books don't. More than fair with grades. I wouldn't take this in summer because it's a whole sem crammed into 5 weeks, but I would take him again, and confidently so. This is a good teacher, don't pass up the opportunity.
It was an online class so just submit homework and do the test and thats it. I would of gotten a B- considering I was a half point away and he didnt give it to me. Thats why I dont like him that much.
He is not a good professor, he needs to be re-evaluated, maybe hes to smart for his own good. This professor is late to every class, hes the worst teacher. And Im older than him he would never survive Corporate America with a mathematical problem taking an 1hr & 15 minutes. No company would put up with that, I know I work in Corporate America.
Probably the worst teacher Ive taken at Suffolk. Guy has no emotion and doesnt know how to teach. Stay away from taking his class at ALL COSTS. Biggest regret was having a class with him
Disorganized mess. Hes a very nice guy dont get me wrong but notes and lectures are all over. I. D.o.n.t even understand what is going on half the time. Very nice guy and does give a lot of extra credit, but he just very disorganized. I wouldnt take him again. He definitely does care about his students and isnt boring. Just dont know honestly
Truly very nice. Disorganized but nice. Lectures are heavy. Textbook is required but wasnt used all the time. Nice guy. Very smart. Disorganized and messy. Likes chocolate though
Love him!!! Class was easy and enjoyable. Participation is really important because it can replace a test grade if you participate enough (not even a lot, just 1 or 2 times per week and you're good). He let us out early almost every class which was so nice. He was the best math teacher I've ever had, I wish I could take more of his classes.
Some review him harshly in my opinion, he was only late a few times and while he may go off on odd tangents I thoroughly enjoyed them. Hes a professor that you can tell actually cares & always worked with you on anything you misunderstood. Its hard to enjoy a stats class but I really did.
Professor Neus is a really nice person. However, it id extremely difficult to understand what he teaches. He does drop the lowest test grade but you practically need to teach yourself the entire course with the textbook. I cannot stress how nice he is, but he genuinely cannot teach. Do yourself a favor and don't take the class.
Does not keep his promises about what will be on tests. Always mentioned how the final would be cumulative but there was nothing cumulative about it. Don't trust him too much and use the textbook because he's full of surprises. He also wanders off a lot during lectures and talks about himself. Late everyday.
It was a Summer 4 week on line class. Very intense but the entire course was laid out to be completed by the end of the 4 weeks. It was work at your own pace. The text had all the help that was needed. Math is difficult for me but I was able to do well due to the clear and precise help of the text book that was assigned.
I took Professor Neus' STATs class online during the pandemic. He has 10 tests that you take whenever you feel like it and they are all due at the end of the semester. No actual homework. You are given 5 attempts per test. He mostly shows Youtube videos during lecture. Very nice guy. He cares about the students and he wrote his own STATs textbook.
Do not take this stats class unless you want an unprofessional and rude professor. He doesnt talk to us. He just plays boring YouTube videos that he made a while ago. When he does actually speak to us he just promotes his YouTube channel and Spotify music. If no one knows an answer that he asks he plays loud cricket noises. Very unprofessional
I cannot stand this teacher, he has participation points that have you ranked against the other students, he makes you watch YouTube videos for the majority of the class on his own YouTube page, and Spotify as well- taking him for online class was the absolute worst experience Ive ever had DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS YOURE DOOMED TO FAIL!!
I'm sure this professor is a nice guy in the real world, but he's a horrible stats teacher. His online course is the hardest thing I've ever taken, he barely teaches stats just plays old YouTube videos. He requires this project that makes absolute no sense, requires heavy editing skills, and just overall teaches you nothing about stats.
I had him all online because of COVID and honestly he tries but he's not the best when it comes to online teaching. Neus is a good person with a good heart but he isn't the best at teaching statistics, especially through Blackboard. We were not really taught anything about the tests either, I would recommend choose a different professor.
He cares about attendance after that you have to teach yourself everything from the video. He is helpful sometimes most of the time you have to teach yourself through youtube.
Professor Neus was very accessible to clarify any questions pertaining to Stats 103. He awarded points if you were able to explain the chapters, even after doing poorly on an exam. The final project was weighed almost as much as the exams so if you do poorly on an exam there's still a chance to get a good grade! Would definitely recommend!!!
Definitely agree with some other commenters that he's posted on here, lol. His online class is basically self taught from his own textbook, in which he often makes up strange new words & explanations for common statistics terms. His methods are not innovative or charmingly unconventional, they are unlearnable and unnecessarily complicated.
Just look at the reviews i didn't listen to the reviews and failed :)
Professor Neus did a great job teaching me statistics, he was always willing to talk with his students if they were having trouble. He made his class interesting by using real world examples and his tests were never a surprise, as he always made sure to throughly go over all the material prior to the exam date. He made stat simple for his students.
Prof Neus is a great teacher- he loves answering any questions his students throw his way and tries his absolute hardest to get you to pass! A lot of the other kids in my class struggled with the material but he worked really hard to go slowly through it and explain it. I did great in his class and would take his class again.
I am not good at math but I took his online course and did extremely well! He gives you multiple attempts for the exams and keeps the best score. I was able to learn at my own pace and not be so overwhelmed about deadlines. I would highly recommend taking his class
Oh my god, do not take any of his classes. Egotistical and full of himself. He uses his own textbook which is riddled with editorial and mathematical errors. Tries to be generous but fails and makes things harder for students. You can tell he wants to be a good teacher but he just isn't. Sorry, dude.
He's an angry and confused man.
Never have I met a professor so full of self importance, so arrogant, and so oblivious. Acts as though he himself invented statistics. Avoid at all costs.
Doesn't put in the effort. Never prepared and time spent in class is wasted. He spent all semester rambling and occasionally recapping Stats I, but never managed to go over anything not already in my Stats I notes. I don't have enough characters to describe how much his class disappointed me. Peep his YT channel 'collegeStatistics' for a preview
I'm sorry. I was one of the guys who thought a low level stats course with a guy with a low rating wouldn't be so bad. WRONG. Got an A because he let us trial-&-error the tests to 100s, now to the bad: He makes you buy HIS textbook with grammatical errors, missing figures, like he gave up writing it and just said F it. More to say but cant. DON'T!
Prof Neus is if u sit down and read it. I finished with a 98 in his class, and I am not good at math. He uses very little math in his class and more on vocab which was fine for me! If you don't really need to know stats and just need to take the class take him! He will have you saying wtf but very entertaining
I could've easily passed this class if it wasn't for me not paying attention at the beginning. Definitely be there for the reviews tests are not difficult if you review first. He loves participation. He talks about how useful statistics is outside of class.
Neus has a unique teaching style, but with some dedication, his class can be manageable. The textbook and Unstuck study were essential for me to stay on top of the content. Overall, a decent course if you're willing to put in the work.
I wouldn't recommend this professor unless you already have a very strong background in math. His lectures are awful. He goes off on unrelated tangents about his life, makes indirect political remarks, or is daydreaming about ideas for his YouTube channel. Did I mention that he uses a marinara sauce jar as a water bottle?
words cannot describe how horrible of a person he is and how horrible his class was. Jesus
