Excellent, easy, decent pace. His stories make the class interesting also. Quite easy, no homework, only 1 test per chapter. Final was not cumulative.

Senor Gracia is a very helpful and informative teacher. He really likes his work and can be quite helpful if you have a problem. If you are very smart and want an easy A or B, you can skip most of the classes and just show up for the review. His practice tests are almost identical to the real ones.

He is a very cool teacher, and is a very funny and intelligent man. He gives you the answers to the test the day before and really makes sure you understand it.

He tells you what's going to be on the exam the class before. People who attend class are rewarded. He's pretty easy, but hey, it was enough for me to fulfill my foreign language requirement at the school I'm transferring to. He explains new concepts clearly in English, which is a big help.

He's very clear with everything he teaches, and gives very good review tests. He calls on people in class, but if you do not know an answer he will help you until you figure it out, or he will simply move on without getting mad. If you put out an honest effort in his class, you will do well.

Amazingly nice guy, quite funny at times- will explain why pronouncing certain words is really, really bad- and identify what obscene, profane, or vulgar thing it was you actually said. (In a nice way)

Hands down one of the best professors at De Anza. Extremely helpful if you come to him and he will even approach you if he thinks you need help. He gives sample tests out before each test and explains what he wants very clearly. You will not take a better Spanish class at De Anza.

The onl way you can do bad in this class is if you don't show up and don't study. Gracia does everything he can to make sure people do well in his class. He is perhaps the most lenient professor at De Anza. One of the few professors I feel more sorry for than his students. He is extremely helpful. You have to TRY to do bad in his class. S.T.U.D.Y.

Senor Gracia is one of the nicest and easiest teachers I've had at DA. He knows a lot about not only spanish but a lot of languages. Just study and go to most classes. Only way you won't get A is if you're a slacker or don't pay attention. He hates slackers and doesn't take off for attendance but won't like u for it.

Oh my goodness....he is the best and ever. I have never ever looked at the watch and wait to leave the classroom as he is a super cool guy. He smiles sometimes and he loves student but not showing on his face. He tried his best to make students understand everything. I was sitting at the front and he asks me question every day.

I've taken Spanish with this professor from level 1-3 and I can tell you that he is the definitely the best to take. He really wants to explain everything well and he is lenient. Those who complain about accents etc. are simply lazy and are not interested in learning the Spanish language fluently. GREAT AND SWEET PROFESSOR!!!

Gracia is very professional, intelligent, and somewhat funny. his exam (5) are almost the same as the review exam he gives out on the day before the exam so the're no reason to fail his class. some says he teaches to fast, but com'on ...it is just memorization. Do you really want to spend 3 days learning the seasons and months? easy A.

I loved his class. REally easy especially the test since he always gives review. i will take his spanish 3 class since i learn a lot from him in easy way. not only i fulfill my GE but i also learn Spanish. i like when he talks about his personal experience because help me to envision the cultural of Latin American country. Senor Gracia is a fantastic teacher. I saw him smile on many occassions regardless of what others have indicated. You will get the grade based on what you put into the class! Study! His reviews are very close to the actual tests. Do the homework because you WILL be called on to answer! I wish that he was teaching Spanish 4 as I would continue on!

Profesor Gracia is extremely knowledge in the subject AND very clear with his explanations of the grammar and both formal and colloquial usage.

He scared me on the first day. He says he does not like people who do not show up consistently (i am not so consistent). However, he has never been rude to me and has always graded my papers fairly. He HAS a sense of humor, even if he isn't a smiler. Most of his jokes are made to ease the tension when you make a mistake, to show that it is alright.

Entire grade was 5 tests, one of with was the final, each of which is 20% of the grade. Much verbal work in class. Daily homework. Easy A; you still learn a lot, but that's because he's been here 30 years. Nice and funny. I was the youngest at 16, and probably a favorite, but participate and he'll like you. Ask questions and he'll answer them.

Wasn't impressed. No homework made the class really difficult, he'd give worksheets but he'd just go up and down the rows for verbal answers so we'd only count out the ones we had to do. Compared to Moreno, he's very lazy. Does the bare minimum in class.

He does not try to embarrass you when you do not know the answer. If you do the homework and attend all class meetings you should be fine. The review day before the exam is helpful (DO NOT miss it!!!). I took him 5 days a week for span 1, and 2 days a week for span 2. I recommend the 5 day a week class. repetition=good. I got an A in both courses.

I took Gracia's Spanish 3 class after two years of no Spanish (last Spanish class was HS). I was a bit nervous, but it turns out I had no reason to be. He is funny, passionate, and caring. He explains everything clearly and writes all of his own worksheets. Grade is based on five written exams, and there is homework everyday to practice speaking.

I learned so much Spanish in his class! I really like the linear way he teaches the language, and I found his homework very helpful for practicing the new concepts. I wish he was teaching Spanish 4,5, and 6.

TAKE HIS CLASS. He is very nice and funny! As long as you do your homework, you'll get an A. The tests are all based on the reviews he gives us before the tests. He gives us lots of partial points too! (even if you misspelled, you still get some points!)

This was m first really experniece with a language class going in wasnt to sure about spanish. The teacher is really helpful and will work with you so you understand the concepts.

Great Professor. Hands out reviews prior to every exam which there are only 5 including the final. The reviews are pretty similar to the real tests and they are quite useful.

this professor was so cool when i took him back in the summer of 2008. he was the only teacher i had in spanish in which i actually learned the material. awesome, he is one of those professors who understands students. i feel like taking him for spanish 2 for the hell of it just because he makes it easy to learn a new language. def recommend him

He is he best language teacher I have ever had! He explains the origins of the words (the latin roots and stuff) and he talks to the students. it's a very interactive class. He doesn't give cumulative tests, and does reviews before every exam. I've never learned with such ease. I wish I could have this teacher for all of my spanish classes.

This was my first spanish class since high school (2 years ago) and it provided me a good review of what I learned already along with some new things. Gracia takes attendence every day and reviews the homework in class so do not miss out! Tests are easy if you complete the practice tests.

Take this teacher, he knows what he is teaching. His is very helpful and very good with his explanations. His tests are easy if you know the material. If you want to learn Spanish take his class.

He is very helpful, its a hard class. But he is clear on what he expects and if you fall behind you get help from him. His test are easy if you study but most of the work is hard just a lot of memorizing. He stays on track and focuses on the subject I really recommend him if you are serious about learning the language.

Mr. Gracia has been my teacher since spanish 1. His lectures are well related to the homework assignments and textbook. If you miss a day of class attendence does not go against you and he provides a notebook with all the lessons so you can never fall behind. He even offered 2 extra credit assignments this quarter which never happened before!

Professor Gracia instructs very well and gives interesting information about the history of the language. Do the homework, study and attend class and you will do fine. Professor Gracia keeps this class lively.

I took this class over the summer so it was an intense 6 weeks. Señor Gracia has a very engaging style of teaching and is very knowledgeable about different Spanish-speaking cultures. He grades tough on grammar, but if you pay attention he'll explain the rules in a way that's easy to remember. He also has a quirky sense of humor. Loved this class!

I like this teacher! Very knowledgeable! Takes attendance but doesn't get mad missing few days. When I'm absent,I just email him & he emails me what I missed. Nice guy! 4 exams + final. But it's EASY IF you study. He gives you a study guide + answers! =) Study the guide & answers & you can't fail! Got a B so far minus the final.=) RECOMMENDED!

Love is not a strong enough word to describe how much I like this teacher. He just gets it... From his teaching style to his attitude, he is a fantastic teacher and person. It is sad to see such an amazing teacher retire after so many years, but happy to see him retire to relax too!

NEVER makes you feel bad for not knowing the answer or for stuttering it out. If you don't know the answer he helps you but never seems impatient and is always kind when answering questions, even if he just answered it from someone else. GREAT teacher!
