The professor is passionate about the subject and his lectures are very useful. he explains things better than many professor i've had before in any subject. The exams can be a little challenging, but if you study you'd do well in the course. He gives you 2 chances to take the 1st 2 exams and the higher grade counts. I recommend taking him.
He is the worst professor ever! Tons of reading! Homework all online on black board. its like small tests for the homework . Class avg grade 62%. if you dont understand he just says "read the chapter again"
DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS. HOME WORK LIKE A QUIZ DO ONLY 3TIME. READ BOOK BY YOURSELF. UNHELPFUL....
He is a very good teacher the exams are kind of easy because 50% of the ques. are exactly like the hmwk. If you don't understand something he has office hours and can help you. You do need to read the textbook to fully grasp his lectures. I do recommend his class I got an A.
This professor is hard! His exams are hard but i mean study and ull pass i passed with C cuz i was really busy throughtout the whole day and didnt have time to study so reccomend him if u really have nothing else to do hes a good guy
Alright
I think Professor Lopez is the greatest! He isn't easy but as long as you work hard you can get a good grade. He will help you as much as you need but you need to ask for the help. You need to stay on top of the reading and attend class every day...do all that and you should at least get a B. Too bad he's not teaching 212 this fall.
CLASS HARD BUT IF U WORK HARD, BUT I MEAN HARD YOU CAN PASS. I GOT A C. HIS STUDY GUIDES R ALMOST AS HARD AS THE TEST. DONT RELY ON THE STUDY GUIDES BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE THE SAME OR DIFFERENT Q'S. LET HIM KNOW YOU EXIST IN OR OUT OF THE CLASS GO ASK HIM QUESTIONS HE MIGHT GIVE U HINTS. I LEARNED ALOT BUT I WOULD NOT TAKE HIM AGAIN
the whole class is lecture...its boring but you can get an A if you pay attention. hes helpful, but boring.
The worst ever he is very very mean and does not care if you understand him or learn the subject because he is getting paid anyway. He won?t give extra credit.
Professor Lopez was very helpful. He always asked if we had any questions, and pushed us to visit his office hours. Tests were a bit difficult, but if you read the material, there shouldn't be a problem. Minimal homework was given, and quizzes were conducted online. It is possible to get an A in his class. I recommend him :)
so he has an accent &its really bad, his class is difficult to begin with &that just makes it worse. i agree he doesnt really care if you understand whats going on.. he goes way too fast. but on the upside you can take the exams twice so thats cool.
i tried taking his class and had to drop because i had no idea what was going on. you can tell he knows his stuff, he just cannot relay the information to students. i dropped his class, took it with Goldmann and got an A. lopez was not the teacher for me!
This professor did not give any study guides for any exams, so basically study the entire book for the final. No extra credit. He thought he was funny and he was not. Homework he was fair, but exams some of the stuff on it was not ever reviewed!!! Over all not a good professor for me!
Mr. Lopez was awesome. If you want to learn then take him. If you are a slacker then this class is not for you. He is helpful, encourages you to view your test, always stayed after class to answer questions. I am not a science major, but if I was he would be an inspiring mentor. The homeworks made the text east to read. Quizes were good. YOU ROCK!!
He was very helpful. Exams are easy if you attend class and do the homework. Study off the homework and quizzes, to do well on the exams. He usually doesn't allow extra credit, but if the class needs it, he will offer it.
HE IS NOT THE WORST TEACHER IVE HAD BUT, HES NOT A TEACHER YOU CAN RELATE TO. HE SEEMS TO ONLY HELP THOSE WHO ARE MATH OR SCIENCE MAJORS.. HE GIVES YOU ALOT OF HW THAT IS SUPPOSE TO HELP YOU STUDY FOR THE TEST, BUT IT DOESNT. HE CHANGES MOST OF THE WORDING AND IT CONFUSES YOU ALOT. NOT AN EASY A:( ONLY TAKE HIM IF YOU ARE REALLY GOOD IN SCIENCE...
I had him last Spring, he was so amazing. I really enjoyed his class. I'm gonna have Bio 211 with him this Fall
If you are not interested in Biology, don't take him. He is hard, and goes very fast with his lectures. His test are hard to understand. No extra credit. Just don't take him!!!
Definitely a helpful teacher. I'm a photography major, so my interest prior to this class was minimal. Tests are difficult, but generally information is mentioned previously. Homework is tedious, but questions on tests are from this. Biology is not easy, this class isn't EASY, but passable as long as you show up and do homework. ASK FOR HELP.
this teacher is very helpful, especially to those who want to major in any science field. His class is a little difficult but if you do your homework, which really helps, and listen to his lectures you'll be good. He also lets you use notes on quizes and work with someone else. He gives a few chances for extra credit. He's great!
hey is good professor his class base on what is on your book. he will give extra credit .
Brilliant. Hands down, a great Bio teacher at SAC. The work is faily easy. I got an A. Lab was simple too. You can leave when you are done. Read the book to pass exams. If you enjoy Bio, you will enjoy him. He likes Pepsi..
Professor Lopez is an awesome instructor. Sure, Biology isn't easy but Lopez explains the concepts extremely well making them easy to understand. He is obviously very enthusiastic about Biology and I couldn't help but allow myself to be infected with his enthusiasm. The homework will be easier for you if you take notes in class and READ your book.
I took BIO 211 and BIO 212 with him. He is the only BIO212 prof. in SAC therefore If you are planning to take BIO 212, take him. BIO 211 is much easier than BIO 212 and it's good opportunity to learn his style. For BIo 211 attendance was mandatory and he took points off for being 30 second late. He's strick but class works were ok. I got A in both.
He is a good man who wants you to do well, but if you ask a question in class it can break his train of though. If you are good at taking notes, and listening the class is very easy. but he is very hard to connect with.
Awesome professor. Biology is not my favorite subject, but Dr. Lopez's enthusiasm for the material makes you want to learn. Do yourself a favor and sit towards the front of class. Take good notes and study them, read your book for further clarification, and if that doesn't help, go to office hours, he is very pro-student and very approachable.
Hard class,You need to read the book to get a good grade. He gives a lot of homework. Good teacher though:)
I had him for Bio 211 and Bio 212. It is a lot of hard work but it pays off in the end.I learned so much in his class.Study homework!!! and quizzes and read each chapter at least twice. He was funny and he loves what he teaches so therefore you will love learning it! I HIGHLY recommend him for both 211 and 212. He will make you love Bio even more!
Likable guy who teaches well if sometimes a little unclearly. Helpful if you need homework questions answered and explained. A lot of the homework ends up on the tests.
easy, a lot of people got A even they average grade is B. not as challenging as I thought it would be
Awesome professor! His lectures are very clear and his main priority is to make sure that his students learn the material very well. He does make you work for your grade but it pays off especially if you are a biology major.
This class was hard and required you to spend lots of time studying. But the professor was very helpful and can be relate-able, funny sometimes. Though this class is very hard, I learned a lot from him. Recommended if you are a hard worker !
Great teacher! He is not hard you simply have to study like every other class. His tests are based off his lectures and the hw he gives. Easy if you put in the effort, if you want an easy a where all you do is attend class and hope to pass this isnt the class for you, but he is an excellent professor that is passionate about what he is teaching.
Seems easy when during the begin of the semester, but test are a little difficult. My advice for this lecture would be to read the book and concentrate on the homework and quizes. Tests are mostly based on what is in the book and homework. And also if SI sessions are available, go to them! You need all the points you can get!
Amazing teacher. Before this class, I never gave Bio much thought. His lectures are interesting and engaging.
The subject matter is hard, but he really tries to clarify the concepts for you. He is funny, and easy going. He is always available to help you out. Going to SI also helped. He obviously loves the subject and that really helps to make the class interesting.Do the home work and read the book and you'll get an A.
He's very funny, on average he tries very hard to get his students interested in the topics. He doesn't really give extra credit, so when he does take opportunity of them. He's a very good professor in my opinion. Bio is not my best subject but he makes it interesting enough to keep me there.
Not the kind of teacher to have at 8am, you just go to sleep with the monotonous pace. Makes it look like you won't need the texbook but all the tests are based on it and NOT your notes.
I came into this class with no prior knowledge of the subject, and didn't find his lectures too helpful. His powerpoint consists of pictures/diagrams rather than tangible information. He is passionate about the subject, but otherwise the class is boring. Only take this class if you are already experienced with biology
The exams are not at all difficult as long as you pay attention in class. His quizzes are open note and you can talk to people. Mr. Lopez is very funny but his accent although understandable 90% of the time can be difficult to distinguish other times. Overall I'll get him again if he teaches a class I need.
I was hesitant to take a Bio class because I just do not have an interest for the subject. But since it is a Gen Ed requirement I had to take it. His class is very simple, you do the work and get the grade. Quizzes are open note and open friend. Homework every week with 2 chances to submit. Funny teacher and passionate about Bio! I recommend him!
Let's just say, its was a hard uninteresting class.
honestly hes not that great.. hes kind of funny just because hes super dorky. NOT helpful in anyway.. HomeWork on weekends every weekend.. quiz's are his best friend.. the class is intensely boring. he has an accent.. I took his class because ppl on this website said he was an awesome teacher.. im setting the record straight hes definitely not.
The professor is very enthusiastic about what he teaches. There is sufficient homework based on the textbook and on a smaller book (Into the Jungle), but the assignments are not difficult if you read the books; these homework questions serve as beneficial study tools for the tests. Additionally, he announces any homework weeks before the due date.
if you want to study and know that you have to work hard to get A , Lopez is a really good prof. However, he assigns lots of homeworks which make you understand a lot of material. My only advice is to read the book for DETAILS. it took me at least 2 hours to finish reading 1 chapter and actually be ready for test
Good professor. He likes to lecture for the entire class which can tend to be boring sometimes but he goes through everything in the chapters. Attendance IS mandatory because he gives surprise quiz's which help in the end if you take all of them. DO ALL THE CHAPTER HW! It will help you in the end if you turn in EVERY assignment. Enjoyed this class.
Very helpful and clear. Super nice, must study the material if you want the grade.
Super Hard....whatever he teach in class is total different in exam. a lot of homework and quizzes even in summer. if you want good grade or even pass the class...don't take him. different exam for each person.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!! I took him in the summer I had to drop the course. His lectures is based on pictures. He gives you tons of homework to do and you have to read one book "INTO THE JUNGLE" and answer the questions from the book. His exams is extremely hard and it has nothin to do with the lectures and the book. YOU WILL END UP DROPPING HIS CLASS.
Take him! He makes learning bio soo easy and you retain so much info. He is super nice & makes these dorky jokes that make class fun to learn. He explains the material really well and breaks it down so that you can understand. SUPER EASY A!!!
Dr. Lopez is an amazing professor and one of my favorites at SAC. He makes learning Bio interesting and you really get a lot out of it. It takes work but it's not an impossible A. The book is used a lot for homework assignments but it is not required for class meetings.
Take him! He's so dorky and adorable and really makes things easy to understand. Gives quizzes in class and a lot of homework on bb so you definitely need the book but I was fine without it. His lectures are really easy to understand. On test days he assigns your seat, on quizzes he allows you to talk with others. There is no extra credit. Take him
You have to be super smart, & study a lot. His lectures are not even on the test. U have to find the information on ur own most of the time. Hw every weekend, & u have to read a book & answer questions. That was the easiest. But everything else was hard. I took him because people on here said he was good, I'm sorry but it's not like that.
I love this professor. He is so dorky and knows his stuff. He is tough, a heavy work load but if you stay organized and it's not hard to get a good grade. Exams are moderately hard but he gives extra credit. If you want to learn great study skills and independence take his class.
Prof. Lopez is a tough one. He has nerd jokes which are pretty funny. You have to put in work to get the grade you want. The powerpoints are online. You have to get the books or you're going to struggle. I enjoy reading "Into the Jungle", it is pretty interesting but if you want to learn and can do heavy workload, he is your man.
Lectures were boring and most of the stuff isn't on the tests. He is a good guy, but not really a good teacher. He tries to be funny, but he just ends up being cheesy. It was hard to keep up with this class.
I agree he's a tough professor. His power points are not useful at all might as we'll stay home and read the books because the PowerPoint he does has nothing to do with the quizzes. He also gives random quizzes and a lot of homework. I ended up dropping his class was a waiste of time his quizzes are really hard also.
Tough class. A lot of homework
First of all, people must be of hard hearing, because his accent is barely noticeable. He is cheesy-funny, passionate, & approachable. He drops the lowest test grade, you can use notes during pop quizzes, the weekly online hw is tedious but super easy to find answers. Study hw for exams, study quizzes for final-quizzes are super basic questions.
Lectures are amazing. Pop quizes usually when his watch beeps within the last 20mins of class. Have a bunch of 15AS scantrons handy. Pretty hilarious when it comes to bio jokes and his life stories. Try to sit in the front it just makes the atmosphere better. Dont do all the homework all at once it will drain you the next day.
he will give you tons and tons of homework and they're worth like 5 points for 40 questions. his tests are hard and gives pop quizzes. i don't recommend taking this guy. but i will admit that he's cool to listen to and funny at times. he makes it very clear that he WILL NOT help your grade out even if you're .01% say from the grade you want.
His lectures don't seem that long because he is indeed cheesy funny his class was the most enjoyable one i have taken all semester
He's a corky guy who really likes what he's teaching. He gives tons of homework but gives extra credit. No curve. He's always in a good mood and there to help. Cares for his students. His exams aren't that hard if you do the homework and study. If you go to a UC or Cal State you'll be fine in his class. He made bio easy to understand and relate.
He reminds me of a Teletubby and he is the embodiment of "Dad." He explains every chapter and leaves a huge workload but it works out for you in the long run. If you skip class, you'll have a hard time trying to catch up and expect a 15 question quiz every class.
He does assign a lot of homework however, it is doable. I found his lectures to be interesting. You do need to study for his exams if you want a good grade in his class. He posts practice exams on blackboard to help you and those questions will appear on the actual one. Some people found his class to be tough but it's all about the effort you put.
Took him for intersession and found it very easy and boring. I slept through the first 2 hours of each lecture and was able to follow along after the naps because he has the lectures up online. Tells you when a quiz will take place and what will be on it. Has somewhat of an accents and now always clear but his class was somewhat interesting.
Took this class during the fall, lectures take place every class meeting and the tests are exactly what he discusses during the lecture. Very enthusiastic with what he teaches, and does make you work for the grade you get in the class. Do well on the final and you will pass, just have to keep up your grade.
Lectures are not very interesting, and the homework is somewhat excessive.
He is a very caring professor. READ before class. He encourages to work others to do the homework, get 3 people to submit the hw at different times so you can get a 10/10. Quizzes are given after every chapter, pretty easy, lets you use your notes and lets you work in groups. He gives you chances to do extra credit, do it!
Professor Lopez has made me love bio. He is a very enthusiastic guy, you could tell he loves what he teaches. HES VERY CLEAR OF WHAT HE EXPECTS FROM YOU. Hw is somewhat a lot, but it's very doable. ATTEND TUTORING, Johee will help you with everything and anything related to the class Onemore thing PRACTICE EXAMS will be your bestfriend STUDY IT
A straight forward class, everything is laid out in the syllabus. DO read textbook and assigned reading. For the first few months there's a total of 2 homework due per week, and the questions ARE difficult . Study lecture notes after the lecture because there are quizzes throughout the semester that pop up randomly. Don't miss. Amazing/caring prof.
I really enjoyed having this professor for Biology. He is extremely knowledgeable on the subject and is a complete nerd, in a very good way. He is strict and does not like students to talk or be on their phones. Although, as long as you show up and do your work it is an easy A. He is extremely helpful.
I really enjoyed taking Professor Lopez for Bio109. Yes, his class is intense but if you ask questions and go to his office hours, he is always happy to give feedback and advice on how to be successful in the class. He's really caring of his students outside the class and is willing to help you. BE READY EVERY CLASS AND YOU WILL PASS!!!!
I really enjoyed taking Bio 109 with professor Lopez, he made me love bio. Everything you will be doing is all in his syllabus. So make sure to read it! His quizzes are really easy, he let's you use your notes and work in groups. Definitely recommend working with others to get the maximum amount of points on hw. And make sure to DO THE EXTRA CREDIT
He is a very good professor!
He was a try hard funny guy.. Some of his jokes were pretty sexist.. the only people that would laugh in his class would be the kids from HS. His labs were fun, but he did not teach anything whatsoever. If you needed help he would point you to the textbook and make you work for it. Would not recommend to anyone.
I took his class in 2016 and although it was the class that had the most work/homework Ive ever taken I would highly recommend it. His lectures are great and stands as my favorite class.
Dr. Lopez is a great professor. He is very structured and that is what got me to do well during my time at SAC. It is a lot of work but it is not impossible to do well. He's quirky & tries to makes his lectures interesting which is great. He cares that his students do well and does have a lot interest on what he teaches.
In complete honesty and no Bias or hatred.. This prof is bad. His teaching ability is deferred by the fact that he has a heavy latino accent, his lectures are extremely boring so its hard to pay attention throughout the duration of class, the quizes are random but atleast you could use notes. One major thing you should consider is his stupid exams.
The lectures is pretty fun but beware of pop quizzes. He is very strict on late homework, quite a lot of hw that due pretty much every Saturday and Sunday. The powerpoint that he posted won't help you pass the class so make sure to come to class. Lots of extra credit tho.
The lecture was really boring because the homework due every Sunday, sometimes up to three textbook chapters, was the lecture. He takes the textbook information and puts it in the slides. So you go to class listen for an hour and a half and then go home to read your lecture. You CAN'T make up missing work and there aren't many extra credit chances.
Overall good professor. His lectures are boring at times but he is kinda dorky and makes funny little jokes at times. His homework is easy and its easy points that can bring your grade up. Including extra credit homework assignments that can rlly help out your grade. His tests however are the WORST because he gives out NO STUDY GUIDE.
I took him for Lab so it was basically all group work. You need to buy his manual which is about $70 and you don't get to keep it, he collects it at the end of the semester. His quizzes are hard because they are a mixture of fill in the blank and multiple choice. He does let you take a quiz for extra credit and doing the book work helps your grade.
Workload is too much for so little points. Arranged seating for exam day. (and continues to move students during exam/distracting) Approached for help on finding an answer on a video, his reply "look for it, its there, u will find it". His mentality if I worked for my PHD so will you for the grade.
I had Dr. Lopez for Bio Lab, I took bio previously with a different professor. For being a 1-unit class, it is a lot of work and always a full 3-hours. I enjoyed learning from this professor, he is funny and knows the subject well. He has no leniency for grades, I was 0.7 percent away from an A and he still gave me the B (my own doing, but still)
I took his class my very 1st sem. of college out of HS and he was not as bad as everyone says. I enjoyed his lectures I wish they were a bit more interactive. I think the issue is people fall behind in the homework because he does give quite a bit but nothing one cant handle overall it was a typical college science class. Study and youll pass.
Professor Lopez's class was challenging because of the amount of homework given on a weekly basis. stay on top of your homework and you should be okay. Print out his lecture and scribble your own notes in there. this will help out so much when its test time and you need something to review.
Took his class during Fall 2020, so it was all through zoom. If you do your reading and listen to the lectures, you'll do fine. For the quizzes, he allows you to do it twice. So if you get a bad grade the first time, you get to retake it and get a better grade. I would definitely take him again. One of my favorite professors by far.
He assigns way too many hw questions for very little points. His lectures werent as helpful since he mostly places images onto the slides and quickly explains them for a good minute or two before moving on (theyre also boring). Youre going to have to read the book to understand the materials more. Honestly, not a good professor overall.
Had professor Lopez for the 2020 fall semester which was all through zoom. LOVED his class, he reached out a couple of times to give us feedback on our tests and homework assignments. He did assign a handful of work however he gave us a long period of time to complete them. READ AND DO NOT PROCRASTINATE and I assure you you'll do fine.
He gives you 2 chances to do every homework. Need to buy the book to read to answer the question in the homework and quiz. If you didn't study, you wouldn't pass the exam. Every student has a different exam, so don't cheat. He gives you good feedback and answers emails very fast. His voice seems a little bit different to understand.
Professor Lopez is one of the sweetest dudes out there. He gives clear instructions for when assignments are due and reminds you if you forget. He gives you the chance to do homework twice and he also gives a ton of extra credit. Exams are a little difficult so make sure to study.
Professor Lopez is the best BIO Professor! His lectures are engaging and has good stories to along with them. Exams are based on the textbook and lecture. There is also plenty of extra credit opportunities. Professor Lopez truly cares about students success in his class.
You spend the entire 3 hours working on a lab worth 5 points. He DOES NOT teach you. There is a quiz before each lab. If you do not get an A every time you will not pass. There is no cushion. The format of this is designed for you to do poorly. If having a poorly mannered and highly unhelpful professor sounds appealing to you, take this class.
I was pretty nervous going into the class the first day, but he had a very welcoming personality. He makes lots of jokes. We do have a quiz every week, but it isn't that hard if you do your lab in detail. He is chill with points, there is even an extra credit quiz. He also answers any question you have.
4 EXAM (LOWEST DROPPED) 1 FINAL. 400 points worth of homework (get at least 380). Our exam 1, 2, and 3 average was 60, and the final 132 over 250. Impossible to fail in this class (+40 Extra Credit). If you don't bring 100AS scantron, he will say "someone please give extra scantron, he will give you a million-dollar" Also, have to read a book too.
Great instructor committed to his students' success. He's funny (definitely "dad humor") but caring and willing to answer any question, no matter how small. Only qualm was that his weekly quizzes were a little hard to study for, as sometimes the questions were about minute details we didn't spend much time on. Pay attention+ you will do fine!
After taking Professor Lopez's class I changed my major to biology. He is one of the nicest and understanding professors I have had. He is really good at one-on-one teaching and its important to ask LOTS of questions in this class. Very unique tests that require lots of studying, but nothing with trick questions. Make sure to be present in class.
Professor is hilarious and explains things in a manner that is easy to understand. The books he assigns to read are interesting and goes over what he talks about in lecture. If you need help in this class and reach out to him he WILL help you, you just cant wait a long time to tell him!! Very understanding, 10/10.
I took his BIO 109 LAB and took the lecture class from another prof. I understood nothing from my lecture class and my grade dropped to a C. I told prof. Lopez and he offered me to attend his BIO109 class for free. U guys know what, he cleared up everything that confused me. He provided comprehensible examples for every theory. TAKE HIS CLASS!
I took his lab and took BIO 109 from another prof. I understood nothing from my lecture class and my grade dropped to a C. I told prof. Lopez and he offered me to go to his lecture class for free. U guys know what, he cleared up everything that confused me and raised my grade to an A. He provided comprehensive examples for every theory. TAKE HIM!
Professor Lopez is an excellent professor when it comes to Biology. He's constantly energetic and hilarious. His laughter is contagious and he's always there for his students.
He's a good professor, and he is very helpful if you reach out to him about a topic you don't understand well. He has a Peruvian accent, which doesn't bother me I knew a couple of people who couldn't understand what he said at times. He doesn't have study guides for the exams, but you should be fine if you do well on homework and read the textbook.
I wouldn't recommend this professor. No study guides and it's pretty hard if you're just trying to get this class to transfer, he gives out a lot of homework and extra credit but his exams are difficult. If you ask him how to study, he will just tell you to read the book and see the slides about the chapter but nothing specific. Don't recommend.
I wouldn't recommend this professor because he does not give study guides or tells you what to study. If you ask him all he says is to see the slides or read the textbook for the chapter. He doesn't say what to study specifically . He gives out a lot of homework and gives extra credit but it's too much just for a class in need to transfer.
40 points EC. No study guides but most of the questions on exams are based on the homework. Avaliable during office hours if you need help understanding a concept (i.e. electron transport chain in my case) Not an easy A, but study the homework, textbook, watch videos on the subjects and you should be fine.
Clear grading criteria, hw is based on chapters that he assigns in the textbook, three exams based and one final exam. Exams should be your main focus.Hw is easy but make sure to do because it can help in the long run.Wouldn't recommend unless you want an easy GE class.
Textbook is a necessity, takes attendance daily but the lectures aren't that important as reading the textbook is. Tests/homework are all based on the textbook, lectures give you an insight as to what to expect but they don't cover everything. Kind enough to replace the lowest grade of your test with the highest. You will need to READ.
this man does NOT TEACH! This was such a disappointing class. Basically, if you don't pass the quizzes, you don't pass the class. You spend 3 hours just reading and he doesn't even help. It's all just memorization and you are learning the subject yourself. RUN!
Professor Lopez is a great professor. You'll be doing something but it is fun. He does want everyone to participate and will eventually get down to you. Attendance is mandatory you miss one week you lose quite a lot of points. Grades are quiz and attendance dependent so show up. If ur on his good side he'll help you out as much as he can
his class was great! lectures don't include everything in the chapter so make sure to really read the textbook. theres no study guides but the homework basically covers everything you really need to know and he carries over some of the same questions onto the exams. he also changes your lowest exam grade to your highest :)
Professor Lopez is an amazing professor; he's funny & you can tell he wants his students to succeed! Exams are based on lectures and homework, with the lowest of the first three replaced by your highest. Homework is manageable with 2 attempts. 3 exams + one final exam. Extra credit up to 40 pts. Stay on top of assignments & read the textbook!
Bio109 Lab with Professor Lopez was fun! There are weekly quizzes for this class. Labs are easy, just participate to earn points. There's one midterm and a final ~75 questions each, so study well as quizzes, midterm, and final all matter most! Try to form a study group & use flashcards to stay on top of quizzes and exams!
