He is a very good teacher. He knows English very well and allows you to revise your essays until you feel comfortable with the grade you receive. He doesn't assign too much homework and he doesn't believe in "in-class" essays. I highly reccomend him as a professor.

If you need help with your essays you have to go to his office hours. He lets you revise your essays if you are not satisfy with your grade. Great professor to talk to in a personal level.

Prof.Ribeiro is very nice. He helps you in revising your paper to make it better. You can revise it as many times to improve it. If he see that you have improved within the quarter than he WILL pass you. TIP: try to suck up to him, the more you go to him the more he remembers you which makes it easy

Jorge was awesome! He gives four take home essays and a presentation as a final, the essays can be revised by him as many times as you want to redo them. The reading goes with the essays and you get pretty hooked on the in class coversations. Don't be too late or miss too many classes or he gets irritable. An A is not hard at all-a little effort!

hes a good teacher. he becomes everyone's friend in the class. you really have to read the book and additional short stories to make ur essays look better cuz he really wants u to quote things. hes a laid back teacher most of the time the class ends early and u get to eat in class too

His choice on text is really simple, just only one book, which is Tuesdays with Morrie (good book). He does not give in-class essays (except for the final), so it made me more easily to pass 96, because I can make a nice first draft at home and then revise them twice after having the conference with him. Really nice professor, highly recommend!

He was a great professor. He was very helpful and taught very useful concepts. He gave helpful tips when we revised our papers. He was very laid back which made a better working environment for everyone. I think everyone should take him. He actually made english worth taking.

I never left his class without having a good laugh. He will help you if you ask for it. Only one book, Tuesdays With Morrie, which is an easy read and interesting. Don't come in late, it annoys him because I always came it late. Haha. Interesting teacher and makes learning fun which is how it's suppose to be.

He's a great guy, his class is pretty chill and actually fun. Beware though, he's a tough essay grader believe me. I think he doesn't like when people write about things he disagrees with. It's a great class though, just work harder on the essays, either way he let's you resubmit. I recommend it even though i disliked my grade.

he's nice but he can be a little rude sometimes he's a little outspoken i guess but overall he's a good teacher. A lot of things talked about in class are personal only because they're based on your opinions, take notes on the topics/issues talked about in class, they'll be useful for when you write your essays.

I took his class a year ago, but I wanted to rate him for the longest. He is a GREAT teacher, read You Just Don't Understand. Great book! Interesting topics and essays, if you take good notes you will pass the class. Turn in 3 papers and you're done! Including a vid at the end. TAKE HIS CLASS!

It's a pretty easy class. There is a lot of reading, but its interesting. There's a couple of quizzes and only 3 essays. He lets you do as many revisions as you want, until you get the grade that you want. He does ask pretty personal questions, and it gets annoying. But its a pretty good class overall. And make sure you participate.

Very useful class I learned so much from his teaching and the books we used, his class is easy if you do the 3 essays and 9 blogs the final is just a letter to him. All essays can be revised as many times as you want until you receive the grade you want. I received a c+ because of procrastination . So just read the book. Very helpful professor.

Class consist of 3 books, 3 essays, discussions and some quizzes. I have to say that it was a pretty interesting and kinda easy class. You get to revise your essay as many times as you want until you get the grade that you want. He will help you and you will learn a lot from the class

This professor will be the best introduction to college writing. He has been my favorite professor as CSULA, he is a tough grader and will sometimes confuse you with his grading. Fun class, but not easy. You get as many revisions as possible on your essays, you just have to put in the effort. There are a lot of readings to do but overall, the class isn't bad.

I honestly think hes a chill professor. I took him during the summer ( keep in mind it was ONLY 6 weeks ) and there were 10 students and he was good. Yes hes tough sometimes and makes you work for the grade. I would take him again. Hes sarcastic and sometimes wierd. Do your work & dont bs. I should of got a F but I got a C+ !!

Best Proffesor Ever! I've always Hated English Class until I took proffesor Ribeiro. He is a really cool proffesor. Gives great feedback and does not sugar coat anything. He also knows so much with regards to making the correct decisions in life! Amazing Lectures!

He's a good teacher. His feedback tells the truth and although it sometimes is harsh, you just have to learn how to take other people's opinions in. There are two essays and one group project (the final) and he's overall a good guy. In class, we go over readings but also he applies it to our own personal lives to get insightful discussions.

If you are not the best at writing, do not take this class. Prof is very picky when it comes to writing essays. If you are sensitive towards receiving constructive criticism, do not take this class. He is an amazing prof overall who just wants students to succeed and grow in the English language. BEWARE: He is not afraid to call you out.

Ribeiro is an amazing professor. Resourceful, passionate, and a real teacher. Really caring and passionate about writing. English professors won't always be clear with feedback on essay assignments but he will actually explain what students do wrong and how to improve. Professor Ribeiro is a professor you have to meet yourself. Some people might tell you he comes off blunt, and some might tell you he is hilarious. He just for sure won't sugar coat stuff for you and once you respect that, the class becomes intriguing.

He is VERY strict on grading and gives a ton of feedback on essays, but besides that his class wasnt that bad. weekly quizzes on different material but they were easy as long as you actually read.

Professor Ribeiro is a tough grader. He is very honest about your work and will not sugar coat anything. He gives out a lot of work. There is only 2 essays in the semester and a group project. Overall, he was an okay professor.

If you can't handle writing then I suggest a different professor because he will make you write and help you become a better writer and reader. He will also put you in groups so if you don't like your group, say something before it's too late cause you'll be in that group the whole semester + a final that's a video (not quiz) of topics yall choose.

Great teacher. You may be intimidated by how strict he sounds, but he'll always provide you with help (reviews common errors and sets time for questions). He's direct and honest when it comes to grading but if you show up to class & follow directions you'll be fine. Finals: individual and group project, which he gives more than enough time to do.

This professor was very interesting for me. Very strict on attendance, but offers extra credit for compensation. Emphasizes group work with the same team throughout the semester. Gives excellent feedback, and is good at what he does. It will take a while getting used to his classroom enviorment, but I enjoyed it at the end of the day.

I honestly enjoyed this professor so much. I've had multiple english professors and he has been the best. He does have you type a lot but its fine if you enjoy it. He answers any and every question. A lot of people would get confused and decided to stay quiet but if you're social, this class is very easy. I also had an amazing group which helped.
