Dude reads the PP slides from the McGraw website. get'm urself & 4get about clas
Great teacher.
Takes the time to help you and will be there for you when you need the help. A busy man that finds the time to care.

GREAT -- he might very well be the nicest man I've ever met.
Really nice teacher, very fair, plays games in class and gives candy. Take home Mid-term. Sexy Puerto Rican, too bad he's married.
take this guy, wants to be your friend more than your teacher, so easy and fun, gives candy out
take his class, great guy, great time.
The nicest and easiest teacher period.
Easy teacher, makes learning fun. Good grades. Understanding.......take this class for sure
Great person! Makes the class fun
Easy Class... :) He is also a very nice person likes to socialize with students.
Awesome teacher, i think he teaches all night class, cause thats when to take him. Gives out candy and lets class out early. The test and projects are not bad either
very laid back and chilled. Two test, two case studies, and a group project. Also, he gives out candy! Take Him!
If you have any chance to take a class with this guy, DO IT. He is fantastic. His classes are fun and everything is clear cut. The work is not hard, and you might even learn something. He's also a very easy grader and isn't very strict with attendance. TAKE HIM!
Great guy! Easy midterm and final, two case analysis, easy group project. Very laidback and helpful!
Plays trivia and gives out candy every week. The lectures are boring as hell, but he's a funny guy and very laidback. The cases and exams are also really easy. Take this guy!
The class is pretty easy. Just go to all labs because you turn in assignmenst online that are easy. And try to make the lectures because he give 4 pop quizzes that are also easy. He has an accent but it understandable. He's a really good teacher. The test are multiple choice and just a matter of studying. All in all, take him.
A good class to take if you like learning about other cultures. He made going to an evening class a blast. It was my favorite class in the management program. Midterm and final are basically from the powerpoint slides. Grades relatively easy on the Case Assignments. Word to the wise, concentrate on the cultural aspects only.
Gives two test plus final and four pop quizzes. GO TO LECTURE it helps with the tests. Lab days are easy and he helps you if you get stuck. One major presentation with paper but he grades very good so its not that bad. He is fun and is easy to talk to. Easy to get a hold of outside of the classroom.
Most question on test are common sense others you'll have to read the chapter to get. Note* Chapters are over 100 pages long. And if your like me your not goin to read them. But even without reading you can get an easy B just for showing up.
Class was pretty straightforward. Lectures came directly from chapters in the book. Labs were pretty simple and short. There wasn't really any homework...just a team project (paper/presentation) due at the end. I found him to be a fair grader as well.

The class consists of lectures and labs. The labs are easy and he tells you exactly how to do it if you ask. He doesn't grade them until the end of the semester so you don't have to do such a great job on them because he grades hundreds at one time. His tests are a little hard but they are from the book and he curves a few points.
Agree 100% with below comments. Really easy group project worth a lot of points. Would take again.
He TELLS you how to do the labs. His tests are 50 easy MC questions that you don't have to read the book to know. This is the guy you want for an easy A. P.S. Romero, is the easiest grader I've ever met
He is a great teacher. He gives you assignments that will make you learn but are not hard. His tests come straight from the slides.
Really nice guy. Actually enjoyed going to his class. Study from powerpoint slides and you will do fine. Liberal about grading and attendance. He's a hottie too!
Romero teaches from the book and by the book--very straightforward and a fair grader. Ooh, and cute!
Not the technical class I expected, but it was ok...Be prepared to do more work at the end of the semester....Midterm was pretty tough...Take-Home final wasn't to bad...just time consuming
Dr. Romero was a great teacher. There are pop quizes, but they were based on the powerpoints. The tests, however, were based on the chapters in the book. I reviewed 10 mins before each class. You don't need to do that, but I did. I did get an A. His class is very good.
Great teacher. Easy class if you read the book. Super nice and only gives 4 quizzes and drops the lowest grade. Likes Babe Ruth candy bars.
Great guy. He makes accounting easy to understand.
He's a nice guy. He gives two tests which are fairly easy and sometimes curves them. And he does 4 pop quizzes and eliminates the lowest one. There is also a group project which is fairly easy to do. He was very approachable in class and wants students to pass.
Do not take Acct 302 with any other professor. Romero is the man. Assignments were reasonable. Very fair grader.
Easiest accounting class ever. All exams and quizzes are open book.4 quizes and he drops the lowest one. Then there is a midterm.A research essay and a final.I repeat everything is open book.If u dont get an A with him then immediately change your major.Even a high school kid can get an A with him.Take him at any cost if u want to get a good grade.
All his exams and quizzes are open book. Just do the problems he gives in class to solve in a group cuz he will give all of them on the exam so memorize them. He also posts the solutions to the problems online so there is no reason to get anyting less than an A. Highly recommend.
He has 4 pop quizes in which he drops the one lowest...you have to write a 2500 word paper and he gives you the topic. He grades very easy and attendance does help your final grade if your between two. There is 3 tests and one was take home.I recommend taking him for a good grade. Oh and there is one presentation but its with a partner.
I felt like I learned nothing in his class. First and last test were extremly difficult he gave us a ton of easy work between the two tests because everyone did so bad. Wasn't very clear when asking for explanations. If you want to be frusturated but earn an easy A take hime. If you actually want to learn accounting stay away!
He's nice but don't take him for 302. He doesn't know any of the info and his tests are crazy. Take someone else...this class can be really frustrating...yes, you can do well in the end (he must have given a major curve) but you won't learn anything with him. Class is also reallly boring. Please, avoid.
He is one of the more helpful professors i have EVER had at Towson. AMAZING!! He will help you to understand, and help to not repeat. He is 0.00001% of Towson's accounting professors who are actually willing to help you pass!!
I never thought I would like acct until I took him, I ABSOLUTELY hated it before. 4 simples quizzes that he drops the lowest score. Pay attention and you'll get a 100 on all of them. First test was difficult and second was an easy take home. Final is 35% of your grade though.Going into it with an A could still bring you down to a D =/
Romero is the best ACCT teacher period. Easiest class every one of our quizzes was a crossword puzzle and he gave us candy haha. i got a 99% in the class and didnt do anything. Dont listen to all of these other ppl TAKE HIM!
He is a very helpful teacher and is willing to do everything he can to help you out. He is the best teacher to take ACCT 202 with if you are looking to pass.
Romero is very knowledgeable and I liked his real life examples that he used to help us understand difficult concepts. I learned a lot in his 302 class.
Great teacher. He not only explains the concepts clearly, but also works on a lot of exercises in class. In addition to the midterm and final exam, there is a paper and quizzes.
Romero is a great teacher who will do whatever he can to help you pass this class. The first test he gave us a study guide to do before hand. When we came in for the test it was the same exact thing as the study guide plus 5 extra questions. The second test it a take home test which was a little harder. He is big on group work and is just an all ar
Romero is AMAZING! he is the best accounting teacher I have ever had. His tests and classwork are extremely reasonable. I couldnt have asked for a better teacher. If you are struggling with accounting, take him!
thought he was a cool guy in the beginning because the first test was easy but in the end he doesnt care..i would find another professor for this class...watch out for pop quizzes
Accounting is hard but Romero tries his very best to make students understand the material. He goes over everything plenty of times so you can grasp the concepts. Most of the semester I didn't pay much attention and it was hard to catch up, but somehow I pulled off a B+. 2 or 3 Exams and a Final, and 4 pop quizzes, but he drops the lowest score.
Romero is a GREAT professor, and he does a great job explaining all the concepts. A lot of real life examples. His exams are very fair and he asks what he teaches.
He is a great guy. Romero really knows the topics and is the best professor to take Acct 300.
Whether its accounting 202 or 300.He is the best professor. His practical experience is awesome. He will do everything so that you understand the material. I took both the classes with him.Really nice and helpful. I wish I could take more classes with him because he has got great teaching skills. He gives quiz(easy)which keeps a student up to date.
Amazing teacher. He really cares about his students and will help you a lot as long as you ask for it. I hated accounting 201 and didnt mind this class.
Prof. Romero is a great teacher. He is so helpful and wants every student to do well. 4 pop quizes, which are just the brief exercies done in cladd and he drops the lowest grade. Watch out for the final exam though, he did not give a study guide which screwed everyone.
Romero is such a sweet teacher! ACCT 300 is naturally a boring class but he tries to make it a little interesting. He gets so excited when the class participates! Easy A :)
Very nice guy made a somewhat challenging class remotely easy. Only flaw is he doesnt teach much during class and will only go by whats ont he sylabbus.
His class is easy. 4 quiz and drop the lowest score one. 2 midterm, both of them are take home exam. final during the class, only calculation questions. Easy A.
He is a great teacher. Im really bad at accounting and he made it clear. I did get a zero on one of the quizes but he lets u drop one quiz. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED i got a "B"
Gave a quiz after spring break and did not mention anything about it before break, quizzes are given randomly and they are worth a lot of points. Not a really good professor
Easy class. I'm a Information Systems Major and I took this class as part of my business track and it was a cake walk. He relates the information to real life which makes it so much easier to understand and really tries to make the class enjoyable for everyone. Highly recommend for not Business/Accounting Majors
Do not take Romero, the positive ratings are misleading. The first test he gave us was online, but the second test was extremely difficult. Dont forget about the random pop quizzes. Dont take him, hes not the same professor that everybody rated so positively.
Seriously, he must have changed the way he does things because all the previous comments are wrong. The first test was online so it wasn't too bad, but the second was terrible. They're only 25 multiple choice so if you get a few wrong you're screwed. Test did not have much at all to do with what we learned in class. I def don't recommend him.
Positive ratings are misleading. First test is online, but second test was extremely difficult. Examples from class do not match up with the exam. 4 pop quizzes, final is worth 150 points and only 25 multiple choice questions! Try someone else.
Prof. Romero is a nice guy but has some flaws for teaching as I see it. His tests are very hard except for the 1st online one and then he doesn't give any partial credit on his quizzes. Also he goes thru his powerpoint and problems he gives you in class but they really aren't too much help. be prepared to teach yourself somewhat
Tests are extremely hard and completely different to problems done in class. Grades are based off of 3 pop quizzes and 3 exams. I got an A in ACCT 201 and now am barely passing. He barely explains the material, and then expects you to apply that material in abstract ways. Textbook is absolutely mandatory, be prepared to teach yourself.
AWESOME TEACHER! FIRST TEST IS EASY, THE OTHERS.. KINDA HARD. HES THE BEST TEACHER TO TAKE FOR THE BEGINNING ACCT COURSES. NICE GUY..
Romero is the man, he makes it his mission to help you out. He knows accounting is hard for most people so he leaves a lot of options for you to get a good grade in his class
Nice instructor, but not organized the class very well. ask yourself to read the textbook and many details question in the exam which never mentioned in class. If u don't have IT or system background, u may lost in class
I had ACCT-202 in summer. The midterm was easy.I got 96%.He didn't give many examples. His quizzes are hard if you don't study by yourself. His explanations aren't clear. He made extremely difficult our Final-just completely different from his in-class examples and easy homework. It was such a big surprise for all of us and he gave a quiz before it
Great professor. Very knowledgeable and clearly with a lot of experience. His explanations are also very clear. Highly recommended.
Thanks to Professor Romero, now I love accounting. He is really great. His classes are very interesting and he not only explains the theory but also solves a lot of problems on the board.
I have 10+ years of industry experience. Before taking this class, I thought that I was not going to learn anything new, but I have to say that I learned a lot from Prof. Romero. Now I am applying a lot of his teachings in my own company. I really liked all his real life examples and how he analyzed the problems and the way he linked to the theory.
Professor Romero knows his stuff, but the textbook is abyssmal and he does not explain the two REAL reasons to take this course: the projects. One has you doing the accounting by hand for a company during the month, at month end and at year end. The other has you doing it electronically through software. I learned more from those than class.
He is, by far, one of the BEST Professors I ever had. Very clear explanations, smart guy & helpful. If you pay attention in class and read the book, there is no reason why you shouldn't do well in his class.
If you take this class, I would advise you to check your final exam answers. They may be incorrect, as in my case. I'm not sure how he arrives at the final grades. Very unethical and disappointing. Seemed like a very nice instructor during the semester.
Romero is...no good. He does not teach anything really. Sounds crazy, but take it and you'll know. Topics are beyond boring. Tests are easy , but not related to class. Worst parts are the projects. The written one takes 30+ hours, and the two computer projects are very un-user friendly. The projects are irrelevant to class as well. You're warned.
Romero is absolutely the WORST TEACHER EVER. He has no knowledge on the coarse and lectures about topics completely unrelated to the class. He assigns a 30+ hour project that isn't related to the class which is weighted the same as his pop quizzes which are impossible and take 5 min. In fact, he probably wrote all the good reviews himself.
Please leave this course alone. This is the most boring class and useless course I never ever took before. When you touch the final, you would be angry and upset really, because you could find out that there were only three questions you can figure out (total 25). And the final worth 150 points. No matter what you did before, you wouldn't pass it.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. The class asked the professor how we can study for both the midterm and final and he had no response for us. No one got the right answers on the final exam so not sure how anyone is legitimately going to pass the class. He has taught me nothing.
Awful professor. Confusing and boring lectures. Really awful long projects that are only worth 20% of your grade. Everyone had an A going into the final. The final is impossible. Worth 40% of your grade, 25 M/C questions, no one in the class knew the answers to more than 3 of the 25 questions.
The worst teacher I have ever had. Doesn't teach anything all semester and then gives a final worth 40% of your grade based on nothing he ever talked about in class. If you ask a question or advice on what to study he goes in a circle without ever answering the question you actually asked. A absolute waste of a class.
He's a nice guy but the class is terrible. The final is worth like 40% of the grade and his study guide is no help at all, he just gave us the same study guide as the midterm. I knew 3 answers on the final out of 25. I didn't learn anything in this class all semester.
He explains very good examples in class, and unlike other instructors, he'll actually let you work through problems. You have to study for this class because the topic is difficult. Overall very good teacher.
Great teacher! Easy to approach, and he will take the time to explain any material that you have issues with.
I enjoyed the class and the class discussions. Very enthusiastic about teaching. Reasonable workload.
He is, by far, one of the BEST Professors I ever had. He is very bright and with a lot of experience. His explanations are very clear and easy to understand although he is teaching a difficult topic. You are given a lot of examples and time to do them in class. Highly recommended.
There he goes... writing his own reviews again. AVOID AT ALL COST! Everyone went into the final with a high A and left with B- or lower, doesn't matter how much you study you'll never pass the final, over half my class got under a 40% on it
You would think that we'd be talking about things related to Accounting. Nope. Instead, when we are supposed to be covering a chapter, he would be giving lectures about Second Life, and the country of Sealand, and whether IT is a commodity. I have to question whether his subject matter is really relevant to the Accounting career. I learned nothing.
Stay away at all costs. He only goes through 10 out of 40 slide power points. Then he considers it finished. He also gives 5 question quizzes that are not related to the book or the lecture. For some reason, the quizzes are worth the same as the massive five hour projects. His lectures make no sense whatsoever.
I just took his class last semester. He is knowledgeable and helpful. He explains the theory very well and uses a lot of interesting examples. His in-class exercises are very helpful and he helps you on those. You have to read the book.
A nice enough guy but not the greatest teacher. The majority of the class is reading cases, which are mostly interesting, and giving presentations on them. He doesn't really teach much at all yet the quizzes and exams are really hard. Not exactly clear on what he wants on them either, which is frustrating. Wouldn't take a class with him again.
Take this class with someone else. You will think you are doing well because you will do well on the project... but then you will get the final exam and your grade will be screwed because there is nothing you could have done to prepare for it. His lectures don't make sense.
If it was possible to give him a zero I would. Painfully boring and doesn't teach, just reads. Lets you out an hour early confused, and wastes another 20 minutes class time watching The Profit. Once he taught excel, and that you could copy figures on it using equal signs. Is this middle school computer class or an upper level Accounting course. F.
Romero was a nice professor, but the class was torture. He did try and help on the midterm and final by providing 9 questions and their answers that will be on them, but still hard. He chooses information you literally have to weed through the book to find, that aren't even in his power point. Definitely, recommend taking it with someone else.
STAY AWAY. He is the worst accounting professor I have ever had. His tests are impossible. 5 chapters covered by 25 multiple choice so you can imagine what kind of info you need to remember to do well. Projects are easy but mid term and final are impossible. I would take this with someone else for sure trust me.
Gives 3 pop quizzes with questions from the book which can hurt your grade. Attendance is taken and there are only 2 tests which are 25 questions. The final is tough but if you study enough you'll be fine. Lectures are boring and he gets off topic a lot.
Nice guy but AWFUL teacher. Please check portal diligently to swap out of this class. Lectures on concepts, watch The Profit the 15min, get out early every class. Midterm isn't even remotely close to what you've read in the book or class. Being given up front 9 questions & a 2 sided note sheet for a now 16q MC test speaks volumes about his teaching
Terrible, boring teacher. You learn nothing from the lectures. The pop quizzes are straight from the practice quiz at the end of the chapters. Long project that he never goes over once in class, so a waste of time. You think you'd do well since lectures are so simple and the quizzes aren't difficult but Exam uses Qs you never seen before in class
Not sure why people think he is like the worst professor. He gave pop quizzes more towards the end of semester. Just make sure to know when to skip class and when to not because never know when those quizzes will be. He was really nice. The only thing was the SUA project was so annoying. I spent HOURS on it but I did learn from it.
Dr. Romero knows his stuff, but is not good at teaching it.
Jorge Romero is an odd mix of very easy and very hard. He is clear about the concepts and is eager to answer questions. He gave a study guide where questions were the same on the midterm, but also included questions with concepts that we had never seen or discussed in class. Attendance and participation are huge and count in the final grade.
Just don't. Attendance isn't mandatory but he gives pop-quizzes which are a major chunk of the grade. Lectures were BORING which made it hard to attend class but you still should. For one of the projects he posted the solution to BB before it was due so I just copied it. Gives 9 exam questions ahead of time so it's easy. I'll never take him again.
Truly cares for his students and wants them to pass. Quiet, nice, and well prepared of the subject. One midterm, 3 pop quizes, and a final exam. Pop quizes are based on practice problems from class and he drops your lowest score. I would highly reccomend Professor Romero!
He is reachable outside the class. It can be confusing at first but with the book you'll be fine. He throws a curve in the midterm, exams are multiple choice, quizzes are excerices discussed in class. He give you 9/25 answers of the midterm and final exams in advance. There is no way one could fail this class.
Good professor! He really wants his students to pass so he is very lenient about grading and exams. I would recommend taking him.
so easy
I took his once a week night class and we would always get out an hour early. Two exams and 3 pop quizes. Pop quizes are 30 points and at most 4 M.C. questions and he drops the lowest one. I got both questions wrong and he still have me a 17/30. The final was 25 M.C. questions and he put 10 of them under course documents with the correct answer.
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COST IF YOU COULD! If you cannot get into any other elective accounting class, then this class would be your last choice. The things you learn in lecture are very different from what you will be tested. Unless you are a genius or are very experienced in accounting, then you will probably do well. Poor teaching style.
He really cares about his students doing well. Always lets class out early. Whenever teaching a problem he always writes it on the board in a really organized manner. He's a great guy. Make sure to study what you learned in class because you will never know when he gives his pop-quizzes. They are usually on what you learned in the class before.
He has no personality and makes paying attention near impossible. His test are extremely difficult because a lot of the material was not gone over in class. Just all around not a good professor.
I'm in the top 10% of my entire class but to do well in this class you need to either guess or cheat. It's impossible to actually study because he tests you on pointless calculations he never taught. After guessing on an exam, I asked him for help: his response was to accuse me of cheating (because I passed) and tell me to go read the book more.
It looks like most people that were ok with him had for acct202, but whatever you do don't take him for acct442. Whether you get a good grade or don't, you won't actually learn anything. I don't even care if you're the most boring teacher I've ever had, just please teach something so you're not the biggest waste of money I've spent in college.
Great Professor. His explanations are very clear and he is very organized. I needed some additional help and he took the time to help me understand the topics.
Honestly, really easy class. His lectures are incredibly boring and don't provide much information. His first 2 exams are straight forward and are online. His final exam is 5 questions with unlimited attempts with extra credit as well. super easy class.
I want to make it clear that his in class assignments are easy but his exams are designed to fail. Romero does the bare minimum to "teach" the course and gives a final exam freebee because he knows the exams are designed to fail. he will cover 7 chapters per exam and test you on questions that are nothing like what his in class assignments are.
You are not tested on anything he teaches. Almost entirely impossible to pass and he won't curve even though almost all the class failed. Material itself is EXTREMELY easy but he will test you on things not even similar to what he taught. Lazy professor and his only response when asking for help it to "keep trying your best". Terrible Professor.
Do not take this man at all costs if you can avoid it. He is NOT helpful, his first two exams are impossible and it's so bad he gives you an easy 100% on the final so students pass his class. This is a 300 level class that's treated like a masters level course. He does NOT even give study guides and tests are cumulative. I can go on and on. AVOID!
Worst professor, avoid at all costs, what others are saying is completely true. Do not waste your money on this professor.
I don't even know how to rate him. First exam was designed for you to FAIL, then he gave everyone 100% on the final and extra credit so that they would pass. Weirdest whiplash ever. If I had to retake, I'd do it with another professor.
The class was nicely organized and all his explanations were very clear. Recommended!
The teacher was very helpful when I needed extra help and helped me understand all my questions. Make sure to read the book.
I took three different classes with Romero, and his classes were excellent. I liked his real-world examples.
Jorge is so bad I had to come back and leave a review even though i graduated with my masters over a year ago. he structures his exams for you to fail, until the last one where he will give you the answers to a 5 question exam so you get a 100%. but by that point your grade with be a on the edge of a C or a B-. or for some a D to a C. avoid him
Three exams. Averages of exams 1 and 2 were around 40-50%. The exams are proctored, and USELESS. The information on the exams do not correlate WHATSOEVER to his lectures. Final exam is 5 questions, easy 100, because no one would've passed. Most boring class ever, and I can confidently say I learned pretty much nothing. Waste of time and money.
If you care about your GPA, this class is a waste of time, effort, and money. How well you do is entirely dependent on the first exam, which (as other comments have stated) just so happens to be impossible to complete within 1 hour. It doesn't matter how much you study, there simply isn't enough time. If you've already signed up for it, take the W.
This professor is horrible and makes the class seem worse than it should be. The concepts discussed are very different from what shows up on the exam. I don't know why CBE hasn't done anything to improve the overall experience of ACCT 300. Goodluck with this class
not the best, but not as bad as the reviews make him out to be. lectures are dry and uninformative, it's more helpful to just read the book. avg on the first exam was 55%, 80% on the second exam, then he gave a 1 question unproctored final + lots of extra credit so everyone could pass with a B. outside of the first exam it's not too bad of a class.
