This class was one of the best of the ten language course I have taken at Hunter College. Professor Saab was always well prepared for the day's lesson, often supplemented the text with his own materials, and always attempted to bring all members of the class into the classroom discussion. He also accomodated the unique needs of individual students.

Professor Saab is really encouraging to students and doesn't just teach straight out of the textbook. He makes cultural references and gives crystal clear guidelines in what he wants from you. He tries to explain things that you don't understand. Take him for a fun time in the class and for gaining some knowledge while you're fulfilling the GER.

Amazing teacher, wish i could take hum again for Spanish 102. You definitely won't regret it. His test are a piece of cake. Very fun and understandable. Its really hard to fail his test. You'll have a couple of test and 1 verbal presentation. He grades fair.

Very funny and teaches you about culture rather than just the language. Tells you the topic of the exams so as long as you study them you're good to go. Would love to take him again it just brightens up your day since it's a relatively easy class.

He is very respectful and everytime I had trouble with a topic he would assign homework to clarify, take up a class or two to review, or take time after class to help me with the topic. Professor Saab truly cares about your education. Spanish 103 was an intensive course full of 6 weeks of nightly homework, exams, projects, and 12 hours of independent language study in the labs. Though the material was tough at times, Professor Saab took his time and made sure every student understood before moving on to the next topic.

I took Spanish 103 with Professor Saab over the summer. Class was intense but Prof Saab was absolutely welcoming and open to making sure students learned the material and that they were not overwhelmed. In fact he is open to answering questions for students well after the semester ended. I would definitely recommend.

Great professor, very nice man. Kind, generous, respectful, seems to genuinely care about his students. Early on thought he was fun/entertaining, but questioned whether his teaching method was a bit unfocused. Prof Saab is good. His lectures are strictly about the language. He will get into the culture of South America. He really cares about his students and humor helps when you are taking night classes (as I did). His tests are easy if you study and impossible if you don't, but that was my experience with every Spanish class. I'd def take him again!

Professor Jorge Saab is a teacher you hope for. Caring to students and listens to their concerns. He requires participation and really wants the class to learn and understanding the language. He is funny and inspirational. Homework and projects are a must. Class Restaurant trip is great. The presentation is daunting but satisfying.

I think i learned more spanish in 203 with him than i did in 101 and 102. He's never late or absent, he always helps out and he is very inspiring with all the story's he told us. Profesor Saab made Spanish 203 so enjoyable. He is very kind hearted and definitely cares about his students. He will help you and repeat the material over again if you didn't understand. Prof. Saab is honestly a wonderful professor. He really pays attention to his class and adjusts lessons in ways that help the entire class keep up. His anecdotes and demonstrated intimate knowledge of the cultures, idioms, and dialects of the Spanish speaking world and literature add a depth to his lessons that I have never encountered. Professor Saab has got to be one of the best Professors at Hunter College. I took Spanish 203, Fall 2018 and he made me realize how interesting learning another language can be. His lectures go beyond just book-based lessons. He gives the best random Snapple facts, that are useful outside of class. Highly recommend this professor!

If you have the chance, take him for Spanish. Youll take yourself seriously. Hes so knowledgeable and hes so fun. He made a 6 hour Sunday class feel like a breeze and I was so sad the semester ended :( just pay attention, participate, and attend and do your hw. And youll get an A+ You actually learn in this class.

The best language professor I have had. Super efficient at deducing the language down to it most understandable parts. He does push you to learn more, write more, and read more in depth works but he doesn't ask you to do anything outside of what you should be able to do. He is a stickler for punctuality so DO NOT BE LATE. Great class and professor.

Professor Saab is a very experienced and knowledgeable teacher with a strong grasp of the grammar of the Spanish language. The class is from 10AM-4PM but his enthusiasm and wide breadth of knowledge makes the time go very quickly. He is very good at balancing the time by making sure the concepts are understood while also covering a lot of material.

I took his Sunday morning 6-hour intensive class and it was actually worth it because he's funny, caring, and so genuine! I learned how to speak Spanish not just read and write it. The work is not crazy and projects (necessarily) need time spent on them. I enjoyed the class so much and would honestly voluntarily take it again if I had the time.

I was so lucky to have Prof. Saab! He's an amazing and caring professor. He makes sure that every student understands each lesson by the end of the class. He gives a lot of extra credit during exams. Took his Sunday 10a-4pm 6 cred class. He makes the hours go by so fast. Excellent, Compassionate and caring teacher who takes the time to make sure his students understand the material. Lab hours are required so be sure to have outside time. This class isn't easy because it requires work and attendance. Do both and you'll pass with no problem!

Professor Saab is a down to earth individual. Its rare to come across professors who actually care for their students, but Professor Saab does just that. The lectures do not feel long simply because how engaging he makes the class. The class felt like a whole, which was encouraging. Professor Saab also replies to emails quickly which helps a ton!

He's always extremely responsive to questions; he wants you to understand the material, and won't mind over-explaining. Lectures were 6 hrs, and his sense of humor definitely helped to pass the time (and encourage participation)! We used the textbook, but I learned way more from his anecdotes and explanations, so go to class. Fantastic teacher.

He made a Sunday class bearable with his creative ways of getting the class to participate in and out of the classroom. Professor Saab is possibly one of the best professors i have ever taken. I personally struggle with language and taking his class was as seamless as possible. He makes things so clear and makes sure everyone understands the concepts. Hes willing to go over concepts a few times as well! He always asks the students if they have any questions as well

Professor Saab is an absolutely amazing. Intensive 1/2 covers a lot of material, but he made the learning experience easy, effective, and fun. He has a great personality (he's hilarious) and goes the extra mile to make sure his students understand the material. If you have the chance to study with Professor Saab, do it.

This is my 2nd time taking Professor Saab. I did not need to invest 5+ hours every Sunday to satisfy my language requirement but I chose to take Professor Saab's class again. While he is not a prof that educates according to a strict syllabus, he is uniquely adept at teaching the Spanish language. I wish I could take his classes indefinitely.

He is patient, hilarious, highly intelligent, and very passionate about teaching the Spanish language in a manner that makes sense. This is my second class with Prof Saab. Professor Saab is great, but he needs to make adaptations to teach more effectively online. He needed to post clear assignment descriptions and due dates. He also needed to post grades on blackboard. I love this dude but he has to make some changes or his students are going to be lost.

I was concerned taking a foreign language course during remote learning but Prof Saab made things smooth, and his projects were fun! Participation matters so be sure to show up. You'll learn a lot if you do the work. He made sure to review difficult concepts and gives you plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Highly recommend.

Prof Saab is the most kind professor I have had at Hunter so far. He is very understanding and makes a 3 hour class fun. Although there are a lot of homework assignments, he covers the material quickly and you never feel bored. He makes connections and inside jokes with the class so by the end you feel like a family. Would def take again.

This class was hard and I wanted to quit, but Professor Saab is such a good teacher, it made me stay and keep trying. He is very caring and respectful to his students, but he is no push over. He makes you earn your grade, he demands participation and consistent attendance. You cannot waltz through his class. Crazy...I would take his class again!

Professor Saab is one of those professors who genuinely cares about the students successes, both inside and outside of class. He is very patient and explains the material in a clear manner. Students feel immensely comfortable asking for clarifications in class, as he provides limitless examples until we understand the material. Highly recommend!!

Took him in the summer. He was fun and likes to make jokes. You have to keep track of hws cause he doesn't have a syllabus. You also have to ask him what grade you got for your tests and presentations. 3 exams 2 presentations (1 solo and 1 group). He asks you what you should get for your grade at the end so aim high cause that's what you'll get.

Professor Saab teaches a very easy class. You just have to be present in class for the material and youll have a fun semester with him. Hes not harsh on grading at all. He works with the students and the homework is easy with not too many projects/large assignments. He cares about the students needs and will always make accommodations for us.

Professor Saab goes above and beyond his job as a Professor. He is fun, caring and always concerned about his students. I recently had a fire in my building and was displaced because of it, and he was always checking in to make sure I was ok. There were no hard due dates for homeworks which was great for me during a time of trauma. He is the best!

We also never spent all 6 hours in class, which is awesome. Tests were good, and he even gave extra credit and take home tests! We even went to restaurant, and had a breakfast party as well! It is mandatory to take a language course as an undergrad. This class is exactly what non-Spanish speaking students need. Professor Saab helps you understand the "why' of grammar and emerges you in the culture/ language. This was the best mandatory class I've taken in my undergrad carrier. Fare, honest, by the books and extremely humble.

I am going to miss him so much! He would tell us so many funny and interesting stories in class. He really cares about teaching and is incredibly nice! Really does his best to help us really learn Spanish, and not just for class. Nice grader, and even gave take home tests with lot extra credit! Class was always fun and engaging! Best prof ever!

He's very serious about interacting and participating in every class and all the time. I get it, but it gave me a lot of anxiety. Good professor, and I like him as a person, but I wouldn't retake him.
