There is no comparison to how boring this class is. The only reason that this class is "no electronics" is so that people actually pay attention instead of having fun on their phones. Do NOT take this class or professor. This class was the biggest waste of time, I'm sad to have wasted tuition on it. This professor has an inflated sense of self esteem and every lecture (basically the exact same, repetitive concepts every week) tries to warp simple concepts such as creativity and humor into complex, meaningless breakdowns.

This bro took a lesson from the US tax code on complexity. Everything you will ever receive from him is unnecessarily wordy. A simple assignment of watching an online video and giving feedback on it turned into 3 complete word documents of over complicated instruction. He does it for EVERYTHING, so his hard assignments take 30 min just to decode.

This was the worst class I have ever taken. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. The lectures were long and pointless. All of the work you do comes with at least 2 pages full of detailed instructions that make no sense. None of the work has any meaning whatsoever and seems to be made up. AVOID THIS CLASS AND THIS PROFESSOR!

I would not take this class unless it is absolutely necessary. You can achieve an A but it will take a lot of work. The class consists of an overload of easy assignments and it can be easy to fall behind.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Every day you recieve multiple eCampus notifications form this class, assignments have a minimum of 2 pages of instructions that take forever to read, decode, and understand, lectures are long and pointless, and assignments themselves are tedious and stupid. Basically it is the worst class you can possibly take here at A&M.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS #2: You really have to "wow" him to get an minimum grade on any project. He pretend to grades off of creativity and innovation, which is something very subjective, and he has no taste at all. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!

Unless you have to take this class, do not take it. If you have to though, do not take Dr. Jorge Vanegas. He makes it really hard and time consuming. You have to be creative & WOW him to get an A. The instructions for the assignments are long & don't make sense. I got 18/20 on one because the thought the colors I used were not CATCHY! Really?

A classmate told me to not take this class, I should of listened! I enjoy some content that was explored, but the amount of time I spend on his assignments consumes WAY TOO MUCH of my time considering I work and have 4 other classes!! He asks a little too much from students, considering this is not a very important class in the first place.

Lectures were very boring and mostly just random quotes from famous people. The homework was very confusing and the directions only made it worse. Pretty easy class but not worth the frustration.

Although an A is certainly achievable for this class, there is an excessive amount of group/individual projects that take up a lot of time. Instructions to these projects are also super vague and wordy, and doing anything in this class just made me realize how much I hated having to use a "creative imagination" and work with groups. Never again.

I can say without a doubt that this class was not worth the effort that I had to put into it. It is definitely not an easy A. Every lectures is dull and uninspiring and every document he puts out from assignment instructions and lectures to the syllabus is confusing and hard to read thanks to the overuse of highlighting, bold, and underlined text.

So boring. I really feel like he just likes to hear himself talk. He once asked in class "Have you ever had a teacher who you thought made an otherwise good class boring or uninteresting?" and the class GroupMe lit up with everybody saying "he just described his own class" so I know I'm not alone in feeling this. I was excited for this class too :/

This was the literal worst class i have ever taken in my life. For a creative arts class there were more rules and regulations and completely irrelevant guidelines than i have ever had in any other class. DO NOT take this class, seriously, don't. The TAs are not helpful, and if your creativity isn't their idea of it then you can kiss that A goodbye

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Material is all very confusing. Grading is unclear and very poor. And overall is just not a good class to take. I took it thinking it would be interesting and not too difficult but was very wrong. Find anything else.

It wasnt a hard class. Just a very boring and repetitive one. Youll be fine as long as you do the work. Once you decipher the over detailed instructions for assignments it gets easier. I cant tell you how manny times you hear the words creativity and innovation so be prepared for that.

Absolutely horrible experience in his online class. We receive poor grades and absolutely no feedback. His class works by posting a long lecture video then putting thousands of slides in which he spends countless years talking about. He indeed also has a sense of pride which he makes clear by making others feel smaller than him; poor actions.

Taking this class was the worst decision of my life. Do NOT take this class if you expect an easy A. I'm an engineering major, and this elective ironically gave me the most stress the entire semester. The grading criterias are not clear with unreasonable expectations. Instructions are as unintelligible. Lectures are boring and unhelpful.

Do not take this professor if you are looking for an easy A. An 80 is considered doing assignments well and to get above an 80 you have to go "above and beyond"- but who knows what that means because his rubrics are impossible to understand. The online class section still forces you to meet in person with your team which is a pain.

Horribly taught class. Lectures are so meaningless and convoluted. Assignments aren't necessarily hard they can just take a while. If the TA that grades your assignments is harsh they can give you any grade they want with almost zero feedback. Definitely possible to get an A in the class just be ready to give up your pride to please almighty Dr. V.

I don't think I've hated a class more than ENDS101. His lectures are completely pointless. He doesn't grade anything himself. You'll hear that he was the dean of architecture at least a million class. If you take this class, please do not take this professor. Your academic life will be MUCH less stressful.

I am so serious when I say I have never hated a class more than ENDS 101. Lectures consist of over 100 slides with no relevance to the material. The projects that are assigned are confusing with very odd formatting of instructions. He answers to emails very quickly, but never gives real help. Took as an elective and easily became the hardest class.

Lectures are boring and have no relevance. Only projects and group projects. Instructions are awful and so incredibly difficult to understand. Assignments take a long time. Available to ask questions but never answers them well. Overall though He's been an easy grader and hands out extra credit. Doable class but would not recommend doing it.

Don't take this professor. Really easy but way too much busy work for a 101 class. Avoid this professor at all cost.

Legit dropped the class on the first day because of how much work he was assigned. Not a class if you want an easy A, lots of work, projects that will probably take more time than your actual classes that go towards your major. Do Not Take if you don't want to be overwhelmed!

This is the worst professor I've ever had. I can barely even put into words how much I hated being in this class. The amount of work assigned vs. what you get out of the course is appalling. Do yourself a favor and get into the other section.

He's demanding way too much for a 100 level course

There is 0 reason why I should be spending as much time on this class than I do my engineering classes. He's an ok guy but really needs to learn his place, I can't speak for comms majors but us engineers have bigger and better things to worry about.

The worst professor I've ever had. You can spend hours on a project and meet all the requirements and he will still say it's "not creative enough." And don't email him, his responses are so rude. He expects way to much for a 100 level class. I will be reporting him to the university and trying to get him to no longer teach this class.

Worst prof I've ever had. Most ridiculous grading I have ever seen. Gives 70s if an assignment isn't "forgettable or unique enough". People emailed concerned about how low of grades he was giving, this was his direct response via email "this is NOT a grade-driven course, but rather an overall learning experience-driven course"

This is one of the worst classes that I have ever taken. If I could give this prof a zero I would do it. I had to do all of the group projects by myself because he assigns random groups, when I went to talk to him about my group not caring about anything, all he had to say was "reach out to them". Which was something that I had obviously done.

Needs to be behind bars. This class is so disorganized and time consuming with all the projects (that are graded INSANELY hard). Barely even know what to do on assignments bc the instructions aren't clear and SO disorganized. This class should be an easy A and it's not. DO NOT TAKE if you want to live.

This guy is the worst. Everything he posts is super wordy and confusing and when you email for clarification he's rude and unhelpful. This class was projects and packbacks (4 questions 4 responses per week). The projects are really long and the instructions are like 15 pages of confusion. Also if you just follow the instructions you get a 75.

I did more work for this class than my 300 level stem courses. Project instructions are horribly long, confusing, and an eye sore of highlighting. Then, even if you follow them and try hard to "be more creative," you're getting an 80-90 at BEST. Don't even get me started on the Jason Silva videos. I almost Q dropped just to end the pain

If you are thinking of taking this class because it "can't be that bad", think again. This class was the worst class I have taken. All the assignments are projects that are insanely long and confusing to complete. I spent about 6 hours per project just to get 90's. He is rude when you ask for help and insists his rubrics are clear.

Taking this course made me reevaulate my life and not in a good way.

For the love of all things green and good, choose a different class for your creative arts!!! it is NOT worth it. If you must take this class, try to get a different prof. Unless you love difficult to read rubrics and slide shows and super harsh and unfair grading, stay away.

This class was extremely frustrating and way to much work. Projects are dumb and graded really hard. You are graded on creativity and "wow factor" so nothing tangible. I heard this class was easy with other teachers but would not recommend this one.

Worst professor I have ever had in college. I cannot believe this class is an option at Texas A&M. He gives the strangest assignments, which involve inventing things, making superheroes, and creating new animals. The catch is that no matter how much work you put in, you can never get above a 90 on one of the projects and usually get an 80 or 85.

I have never hated (and I mean HATE) a professor more. Tough grading on intangible things such as an elevator pitch to an animal. You can't even get above an 85. I'm going to get a B in a 100 level creative arts class. That is actually insane. I can feel my ears boiling just talking about him. He needs to be suspended from his job. DON'T TAKE HIM.

Avoid Dr. Vanegas for ENDS 101 no matter what. The base grade for doing what the rubric asks of an assignment is a 75. From there, it is left up to the TA's and Professor to determine your grade. Thus, the assignments are graded on what they "feel" it deserves. Coming from a 4.0 STEM student, this class is just ridiculous for a UCC credit.

If you want to do an ungodly amount of work on a UCC just to receive an 80, this is the perfect class for you. Have a GPA-bound scholarship that you don't want anymore? This is the class for you. I don't have a single clue why this is a class in the first place. Save yourself the frustration of this class, and take anyone BUT Dr. Vanegas!

I took this class online, and the professor gives two one-hour lectures weekly. These lectures have nothing to do with the assignments and are wasted hours of life that you will never get back. There is no structure, and most of the content is made up. The grades are practically decided by TAs picking random numbers out of a hat. Avoid at all costs

I though that people were just being dramatic on his ratings but he's horrible. Like people are saying the grading is some what random and he will give you a 75 for doing what the rubric says. Take any other professor but him.

I emailed this prof asking a question on something unclear. He emailed back on the defensive claiming I said he penalized students. Where he got that from, I don't know. Did he answer my question? No. He's extremely defensive anytime you ask him a question on his confusing grading criteria (or something else) and doesn't give anything above 85.

Don't take this prof. like this class was supposed to be some random blowoff, and while it was light work I had so much other stuff to do and his pointless 5 page assignments never helped. Also yeah he's kind of a wall when you message him.

Atrociously disorganized course, completely subjective and unclear grading criteria, useless busywork passed off as "life-changing leadership development", incredibly dismissive of complaints, shows superiority complex by deflecting blame onto students. I have nothing positive to say about the guy, I gained literally nothing from taking his course.

Very demeaning and unapproachable. When I met with him for office hours, he would constantly put me down as a student, telling me that I was not "creative" enough for the career I wanted. When I showed him the places in my assignment that he penalized, he would still find random things to nitpick about them to justify his flawed grading system.

Do anything BUT take this class for creative arts! He randomly took attendance of 20 students each class and if you were absent that one day you get a 0 for attendance grade. The lectures had nothing to do with the assignments. The assignments will take HOURS out of your life and he does not believe that following rubric means you earn a 100! AWFUL

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Assignment instructions are so cryptic they genuinely make no sense. It reminds me of that Noah Centineo speech iykyk. You have to do 8 pack backs a WEEK, and did I mention how unnecessarily hard the projects are? Take anything else I would not recommend to anyone.

Assignments are SO time consuming and his written directions seem like he is trying to meet a minimum word limit. Lectures come off like a pseudo intellectual self help book rather than meaningfully teaching students to be creative. Instead of teaching any fundamentals, everything is business oriented and basically prepares you to be on shark tank

Do not take this professor, there is a reason he has a 1.8 rating. Responds to emails but is very unhelpful. Gives a grading rubric, it does absolutely nothing, you can get an 85 for "meeting expectations". Attendance not mandatory, sometimes gave extra credit for it, lowest attendance was 7/100, sounds like an old man complaining during lecture.

(ENDS 101) This was one of the worst classes I have taken. I needed to take a creative arts course, and this was the only one left available. You will have group projects and individual assignments, the instructions for which are far too long and overcomplicated. Packback is lecture-heavy and takes too much time. DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER

BIGGEST waste of time. I ignored rate my professor, figured it would be fine. DO NOT DO THIS. Spent every Sunday night doing 8 120+ word responses on packback and HOURS doing projects unrelated to the lectures. Also, the grading rubric is the biggest JOKE I have ever seen (can not emphasize this enough). Grades are hidden still and its finals week.

All the bad reviews he will eventually get taken. Worst professor you will ever have. If you like random grades and a class that is based on fictional ideas, you would love this class. He doesn't communicate, and his rubric looks like something from a second-grade class. His instructions are pages of nonsense. Every grade is a toss-up.
