This teacher's so cool! I learned so much about myself and the people around me. All the tests are based on the study guide(actually eactly from the study guide!!). Just study! Don't blame the teacher, blame yourself!

Why would anyone ever rate him poorly. GREAT guy, easy to talk to, interesting and engaging in class. Talks to you after. Read the book, listen carefully, and you'll do VERY well!!! He is an awesome teacher!

Anyone who doesn't like him must have tried to set fire to the building or something, as he is incredibly kind to every student in my class, and our class has lots of semi-slackers. He knows his stuff. if you take psych 2, be prepared for lots of stats

This guy is very straight to the point and easy to follow. I was never confused about how well i was doing in the class. He is a pretty funny guy. I would recommend taking his class because you actually learn and it isn't that hard to get a good grade. Anyone is better than Michelle Reed!!!!

he is very nice and lets you make things up late he is really easy to talk to and to get along with. he explains everything really well and tests are prettty easy if you read the lecture notes online.

Always open to any question. I just studied the notes without reading and got an A. Personable guy, even though you will think the class is going to be horrible at first. Stick it out. . . he has a good grading system in the end, it won't be as bad as he leads on. u only need 2 hr to study

One of the best professor I have ever had in college. He is accessable and offers to help any student having problems with the course. The lectures are interesting and are online as well. The test are easy and the labs fun to do. Everyone in my class did very well and got a bump in their GPA.

Jose is the best. He is incredibly smart but he is able to teach to any level of ability, whether you are dumb or intelligent. He is also very funny and likable, and he genuinely tries to make his class fun to go to. He is what a teacher should be.

A really funny guy that will take time to go over and over something so that you understand it. Never makes you feel bad about anything, and is willing to help you in what you need. This class was one of the most challenging classes I have every taken but it was also one of the most fun *not an easy combo for a research class to pull off* Jose brought laughter to learning Anova tables! All I can say is - if you have to suffer through experimental psych take it was this man - you will love him!

He's a great teacher. He's very clear about when test's and quiz's are. All quiz's are online on the weekend(open book too!) All notes are online. They're really helpful for tests.DONT WAIT ON DOING THE 10 ASSIGNMENTS! you have all semester to do them just dont push them back they take to long to finish at the last minute

He is an extremely good teacher, he is also very understanding! He is very well prepared and if you ever need help he enjoys helping you. The quizzes are online; I like them because they helped my grade if I got a good score. The exams however are hard, but if you study they are easy! He has extra credit opitions as well. He shows funny videos too!

I took him for Experimental Psychophysiology. Boy, that was a fun class... Actually it's one of the harder psych classes. However, I learned a lot, and the experiments were fun. Jose is very knowledgeable, and is an extremely helpful teacher. He will work things out with you, especially when you do not understand the material.

Jose is a great teacher; he makes the hardest Psy class so fun and interesting. He is very knowledgeable, flexible and is always there to help when needed. Online quizzes are hard. Exams are ok if you read the chapters several times. Experiments are cool; you’ll love this class.

Ok so. I really liked Jose. The lectures were interesting and I can see he really tries to make psych fun for the class. The quizzes and tests were a bit difficult and confusing most times, but don't be discouraged, he will try to help you guys to pass and curve the test grades. Very nice guy I'd take him again if I could.

Great, funny guy. Grades on a curve, drops your lowest quiz and midterm grade. Read the book a lot, take online quizzes, study notes a lot, if you want an A. I read the book once, studied a lil, did half extra credit, averaged D's in exams & quizzes, but did all the essays (100pts), and got a D on the final, and I passed w/ a C. Highly recommended

you must not have gone to class to get a crappy grade. 90% of his quiz questions come directly out of the notes, which he provides, and the midterms are a regurgitation of the quizzes. pretty much the easiest class i've ever taken. studied an hour for the final, got an A. never studied for quizzes (open notes!) and essays were free pts

dont like taking notes? Just print them from Jose's website. All the info you need is on there for the quizes (90%+). You can pass with a B maybe an A with the notes alone. He is awesome and answers any questions thrown at him, love this guy . You'd have to be stew-ped to fail this class, he gives plenty of extra credit, C to A

love love love this teacher! he is funny and highly intelligent. he really keeps class interesting and has a great sense of humor. all the assignments are super easy ans online. all quizzes are online and very easy. he tests us regularly and drops the lowest test score, which is nice. this class is just great!

took psych001 with jose. was an interesting class. overall easy. we had a quiz online and assigment each week easy points and notes were available online so u dont have to take notes during class if you dont want to..easy but just make sure you turn in the quizes and assignments on time!

Took him last summer and his class was really fun, especially the videos. Funny guy, too. All the notes and work is on his website. Had a quiz everyday too---open note. Very easy! I averaged D's on my exams, D's on my quizzes, yet did all my essays (100 pts), and did only 5 extra credit points out of the 15 available and stll passed with a C (73%).

I love him! He's one of my favorite teachers! If you are taking Psych you must take this guy! He makes class fun and he has interesting stories and is funny.

This class is really easy if you attend all classes, mostly pay attention, and get all the work done. He drops your lowest test score and lowest midterm score. He makes the subject interesting, easy to understand, and makes his class pretty easy to pass.

great teacher! made it super easy to pass the class since he drops the lowest exam and quiz score. quizzes are done online at home so you can use your book, which was extremely helpful. i got an average of 76% on exams and a 73% on the final but i still passed with a B. it was a enjoyable class. highly recommend him!

Hilarious guy. Pretty easy class if you keep up on the reading and go over his lecture notes.

His classes are very interesting, and even that there is a lot of information it is just a pleasure to study it. He is a really nice teacher, will work with you on any of your problems. If you keep up with the material you can get an A very easy:-)

An awesome teacher and a cool person. If you have an interest in the subject, I would highly recommend taking his class. He doesn't mind being pestered endlessly during his office hours about Psychology, even if it does not pertain to the current lesson. He is a funny and interesting person and I can't wait to take sociology with him in spring.

4 Exams and a final, the final is not cummulative. There is homework and open book quizzes due every week. Some extra credit is available. Class notes are all online but I would suggest showing to class for understanding of the material. If you put in the effort you will get an A. Jose is very understanding and easy to talk to but you have to try.

one of the sweetest guys i've met.I took his summer class he'd give us a break or let us out early.He doesn't care if you sit through the lecture or not just show up on time for the quiz with the notes printed off his site.DONT buy the book all the info is in his notes. i took this class as a new student from a 2 year break from school not knowing what to expect. i'm so glad i signed up for bautista's class, i had to give him a recommendation. no term paper, short open book weekly quizzes, nerdy sense of humor, what's not to like!

Jose is a great teacher. He has an enjoyable personality and a real love for psychology which makes his long and information packed lectures actually interesting. Very helpful and interesting teacher. Makes lecture notes available online that you can print out and bring to class.You just have to add a few notes to the lecture notes and you have what you need for exams/quizzes. For lectures he mixes in an occassional video to keep things fresh. He is extremely well organized and clear about due dates.

1st: His intelligence, wit, understanding and kindness make him hot. 2nd: Those traits also make him a great professor. He'll stay after and chat with you, and will try accommodate you if there's stuff going on in your life (for me it was health issues and work conflicts). Rarely I was bored, but that's my fault, not his. He's awesome and way nice.

I took Intro to Psychology Thursday nights last fall. This is an enjoyable class. Entertaining lectures! He is very helpful, clear, and he grades fairly. Extra credit is offered. Tip: Don't get behind on the writing assignments...I think they might be a psychological trap!

I took his summer class which was challenging because of the amount of material we had to squeeze into 4 weeks. Your grade WILL reflect the time and effort you put into the class. Very interesting class.i learned a lot.

Took his intro to psych course. Went to class high every day and got an A. Good teacher, easy class. As long as you attend the classes you should get a good grade. My only complaint is that I didn't even use the book, not once. If you just take notes in class you won't need to buy the book.

I thought I would hate this class but he is an amazing teacher and if you show up and complete the work ontime you will receive a good grade. He makes the material interesting plus he is really funny. I would totally takw one of his classes again.

Took this class two semesters or so ago. He is one of the my two favorite teachers at WVC. Clear and well organized notes, instructions and assignments. X-credit is availalbe. MUST come to class, follow his notes, do assignments ON TIME - good grade guaranteed. He is funny and makes class interesting. Test are multiple choice.

this guy is definitely one of the best. His grading is very fair and always makes sure you understand the material. He is also pretty funny and is always in a good mood. The only bad thing is that his classroom gets EXTREMELY stuffy.

When mentioning a phobia of spiders, he tells how he doesn't like them, but takes them outside when found in his house. I suck them up the vacuum cleaner. He is very helpful. His class is hard because you have to remember so much detail for the test.

This is my top rated professor at West Valley College. Quality teaching and expansive knowledge of his subject matter, plus a great personality make each class super interesting and enjoyable. Have to attend every class and take good notes to get a high grade as I did. I highly recommend everyone to take his class if you go to WVC.

His ways of teaching is very interesting. Nice guy too! If you want an easy A, I recommend you take this class as a FULL semester, not over the summer/winter. I took it over the summer and clearly this subject is heavy. His quizzes and test are not too hard, but if you over think too much, then you may struggle like me. Nice teacher overall.

Mr. Bautisita is amazing! Not just as a teacher but as a person! His way of teaching is so clear, and so engaging, I looked forward to his class everyday! He keeps you interested! Every week there is an online quiz, about 3 M.C. exams, (one of which he drops), and a final. Study and you'll do great! He gives TONS of E.C. opportunities! Go to them!

Professor is a great lecturer! He really knows his material. The lectures can be very interesting at times and the movie clips he shows the class is very interesting and funny. There is a quiz almost every classtime at the very beginning so attendance is somewhat mandatory. He is very approachable and can answer irrelevant psych questions too

Jose is a good teacher. He has a great format for his class. I learned a lot in his psych 001 and only wish he taught more psych classes. (I know he teaches one other one). His testing methods are reasonable and he's a laid back, understanding guy with a good sense of humor. M. Reed is so bad, I wish he would replace her w/ someone more like him!

Jose Bautista is a man who loves what he does and it truly shows. He works hard to connect the students to the material, employing a multimedia approach. His General Psych class is the best introductory class at WVC. Contrarily, his Psych 2 class is one of the hardest. He's a tough, especially on tests, but very fair grader.

Jose is one of the best teachers I've ever had. This class makes you work for it a bit but I really enjoyed it. More than anything, I learned a lot during his lectures and he's super reasonable about grading, if you do what you're supposed to, you're going to do well. The tests can be pretty hard though. Take this is you want a good experience!

I can't say enough good about this professor. I had 0 interest in Psychology walking in, and now I've ordered a DSM. I took the winter class, so we had 4 hour lectures every day. He stayed interesting the entire lecture every class. Pay attention during class. Do any extra credit offered. Easy A. He shows video clips in class.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. You will learn a whole lot from the class, but you'll enjoy every second of doing it. He's hands down the best professor at the school. Uses videos, funny stories and examples, pictures, etc. Lots to learn, but it's definitely NOT hard. Got an A just from listening to lectures and never cracking the book.

I took Bautista's Psych2 class as a requirement for a biotechnology major. I have no interest in psychology, but he does a good job explaining research methodology that can be applied to multiple subjects. He is extremely helpful, and very understanding. I don't like the textbook he uses, but he provides study guides that help a lot.

He is a very good teacher. Lectures are clear and interesting. His guidelines are clear and passing the exams should be easy enough so long as you actually study the material.

I don't know how people fail this class. He posts "MP3 files" of him going over past tests. They are so similar to his exams, you only have to study for MAYBE another 1/2 hour and you'll be set for an A on the tests. Online quizzes can definitely be confusing, but also doable. I only cracked open the book 2 or 3 times the whole semester. Take him!

Very interesting class. Lectures every class but he makes it fun. Always cracks jokes. Online quizzes once a week can be difficult but not terrible. Gives a lot of extra credit towards the end of the semester. Posts MP3 files of previous tests to help you study for tests and are very similar to the new test.

I took this professor during a short winter a session and had to be diligent about keeping up with the reviews of the notes in class, and reading. Reading wasn't a lot, but there was a quiz everyday of instruction with the use of notes. The professor is genuine, funny, up on new and old theories and practices.

I took PSYCH 1 and 2 with Mr. Bautista and I absolutely loved both classes! The material for PSYCH 2 isn't easy but his lectures are very good and he's often giving examples and showing vides that make it easy to understand the material. Attendance is not mandatory but you won't be able to pass with a good grade if you skip classes.

His lectures are really interesting- and he incorporates humor. Be prepared to do writing assignments (10) and weekly quizzes (11). Make sure you know your material. Be warned, quizzes are tricky. I would definitely recommend this class.

JoseSexy is funny, great lecturer, and class is pretty easy. He gives a ton of extra credit (up to 50 points), always will help you if you need it, and the class is really laid back. Your almost certain to have at least 2-3 classes cancelled as well. I wasn't too interested in psych, but it was definitely a fascinating class. Book is fantastic too

How can anyone fail this class?! He posts mp3s of him reviewing past tests & then includes like 13 of the questions from the mp3s on the test. Quizzes online, so open note. I'm not a psych major, but I found this class to be so interesting & engaging. There is a book, but I never used it & got an A. Jose is a great teacher, would take again.

Mr. Bautista is a really funny and nice guy but I'd be lying if I said his class is easy. You really have to work for your grade but on the plus side he's always giving out extra credit. There are 9 online HW assignments, 10 online quizzes, and 3 midterms plus a final. His lectures are very detailed so you can't miss class or you'll fall behind.

he's my favorite teacher, I'm the type of person that would miss class and not worry but i didn't miss one of his lectures. they were fun and i loved going to class, just make sure you pay attention because it is a hard class.

Because it was an accelerated summer course it consisted of daily quizzes, and weekly exams! Super passionate, and very interesting lectures. Can't wait to take PSYCH 2 this coming semester!!

He drops lowest daily quiz (open notes) and test, and has 10 pt EC. Weekly assignments are very easy. Tests are MC and straight from lecture, but studying is req'd for an A.

Lectures are his main method of teaching. If one doesn't attend, one will not succeed. His lectures are fun because he throws in a bit of humor. This class has changed my outlook on many things in the world and I would definitely take another class of his in the future.

Professor Bautista is so passionate about teaching! Nothing inspires me more than a teacher who cares deeply about their students and the subject they teach. He makes his lectures very interesting and gives you solid real life examples. He does go through a lot of material, so pay attention and take notes. Great class.

You must attend class or you won't have any idea what's going on. This class was a lot of work and a lot of studying needs to go into it. It's fun and Bautista is an amazing professor. Lectures are information heavy. All the assignments are a slow build up to what your final paper/experiment should look like. Would take again in a heart beat.

Now here is a teacher who knows what he's doing. Solid course outline thats a piece of cake to follow. You have to pay attention to his lectures because it will all be on the test or upcoming quiz. READ THE BOOK. It helps! Its an easy class to get an A in but also an easy class to get a C in.

I took his winter class and it was soo exhausting sitting in class for 3.5 hours a day. I nearly fell asleep during each lecture. But the quizzes were open notes and daily. We had a test at the end of every week (4 total). Easy class just show up to class and try to stay awake to get an A. SUPER easy to get a B. He didnt give any e.c. this session

He gives lectures every single class. No group work or chances to interact with classmates. He really knows his stuff and the material is very interesting. Quizzes are challenging, just be sure to pay attention to his lectures.

Ok, so where do I start? His Psych001 class was a piece of cake. He offers pre printed notes to all of his lectures so no note taking is required. Weekly quizzes based off lecture notes - easy. Offers a review test before exams & recycles over half the questions. Take this class 50% seriously and leave with an A.

Be prepared to take good notes in his Psych 2 course. In fact, I recommend using a recorder to capture the lecture. This class is only offered at 12:30 and by that time I was mentally fried which was awful because his exams came straight from lecture and very little from the textbook. If the APA book is on his list, skip it.. you won't need it.

Psychology itself can be a tough class to a lot of people and it can be pretty boring but Bautista does his best to make it as entertaining as he can. If you have any questions he will help you out. He will give u practice tests before a big test so as long as you do them you'll pass the test! He drops your lowest quiz score and test score!!

Definitely the best teacher for psych. I'm not even a psych major and I'd take Bautista's class again. His lectures are really entertaining and informative and he offers extra credit if needed. The homework is also pretty minimal compared to other classes.

Has some great lectures, and really tries to get a laugh out of everyone almost every class. Made taking general psych really fun, and the notes he provides give you all the answers to the online quizzes. Go to class, his lectures are important to some quizzes and the tests. Take him for Psych 1 !!

Professor Bautista made what should have been a hectic winter quarter such a fun time. His psych class was interesting, structured, and super fun! He was always clear about what he wanted from his students, and his transparency was very helpful- posts old test questions along with recordings of the correct answers. Wants his students to succeed.

I took Bautista for psych 1 and 2, he is one of my favorite professors at wvc. He is clear about what he wants you to do for papers and exams are straight forward if you read the textbook. Hes not going to give you an easy A which is realistic if youre planning to transfer. Because university is much more difficult so Bautista prepares you for it

Jose Bautista is a wonderful professor who is passionate about psychology and cares about his students. However, PSYC 1 is NOT an easy class by any means and you will need to study; I mean STUDY A LOT! But on the positive side, he drops your lowest quiz and exam scores and offers a lot of EC. Can't wait to take PSYC 2 with him this Spring!

Bautista is funny and is very inspirational in his lectures. He is really passionate about pysch and really wants his students to be engaged. He also shows videos and has lesson checks in his powerpoints.

If you want to learn something, take his class! His exams are tough, make sure to study! Great professor and lecturer with a sense of humor. Make sure to take good notes or record them. Bautista is overall an excellent professor and I had a wonderful experience with him this past school year. But to non-psych majors/minors, I will have to warn you that PSYC 002 is going to be INCREDIBLY difficult. The workload in this course is almost as if you had to study for two classes and it would be very hard to keep up once you're behind.

I took the class over the summer so it was 3 hours long every day, which sucked, but he was entertaining and made going to class worthwhile. It was pretty easy to get an A in but you do have to study for tests. Definitely take him as your professor for psych classes!!

Jose Bautista, Is a great teacher! Don't be discouraged from taking his class just because it requires a lot of work. He is flexible with work and helps when you don't understand the material. His test are lecture based but he gives the lecture notes to YOU! It was extremely helpful to follow the lecture.

Awesome teacher!! I learned a lot about psychology and he did really good with explaining what everything meant with examples that were more understandable. He was also very willing to help and it was nice that all his slides and notes were on canvas so it was easier to keep up with the material.

Bautista is an amazing teacher. He has good sense of humor so lectures are fun. His psych 1 class definitely requires studying but what class doesn't? As long as you read the textbook (it isn't hard) and study for tests, you will do great. He understands this info is new to many people and helps you out. He's the reason I'm now interested in psych

This class isn't easy but he makes it good. Drops the lowest test and quiz grade. This was my first time using excel which is used a lot in this class. He explains it but it can go kinda fast. Good lectures that cover what's on the test. I never picked up my textbook.

Bautista ROCKS!!! He gives amazing lectures, is super organized and teaches this Psyc001 class at a graduate level, so it will def challenge you. I highly recommend him! Homework consists of a weekly essay and reading, grading is clear w/ lots of extra credit. Exams are tough, so def make sure you do the practice exams and study in advance.

I think a lot of these ratings are fake or made by the professor because they all pretty much say the same thing, nobody puts the difficulty so high but also gives a 5/5.

It took me getting to SJSU to realize how much Bautista prepared me for what universities expect from their students. Took him for psych1 and 2. PAY ATTENTION to his lectures! They will help you in your upper division courses. I am ahead of some of my classes b/c I took his classes. I am grateful for how well he prepared me to transfer to a CSU.

Jose is a great prof. You can tell he enjoys what he does and he really likes his students. He has such a light-hearted demeanor but don't let it fool you! His exams require lots of STUDYING. There were 3 exams, weekly writing assignments and quizzes. He offers extra credit at the end of the semester! Lots of ways to bring up your grade!

Jose is so funny but prepare to sit for a long time. Lecture plus Lab results in sitting and listening to him talk for 3 hours straight. We move around and get breaks and work in groups but still. Lecture is somewhat confusing but labs are so easy, if you pay attention he tells you exactly what to do and what the answer is.

Honestly one of my favorite teachers at West Valley. You have to work hard in the class, but he helps you through everything and wants to see everyone succeed. Would definitely take him again

LOVE JOSE. He truly cares about his students. Sometimes his lectures can be dry but he always adds humor. All tests are based on everything he says in class. Tests were pretty easy in my opinion. All slides are posted on canvas because he wants you to pay attention to what he says about it. DROPS lowest test and lowest quiz!! Extra credit available

COVID Semester: Jose gives amazing lectures, that will have you fully engaged an laughing, but he definitely teaches at the grad school level. He is a tough grader and very precise in how he wants things, so pay attention to the details. This class will def prepare you for 4YR. Beware THREE finals (lecture, lab & final APA paper).

Really nice, caring prof. Totally relaxed about deadlines. Gives thorough, step-by-step instructions for all labs, so if you do the work, there's really no excuse for not scoring well. Quizzes weekly on lecture materials can be taken any time within the week. Will give you all the help you need for any project or paper. Have to write APA style.

Bautista is one of my favorite professors at West Valley. I had him for psych 1 and psych 2. If you have the choice to take him please do so. Going to classes isn't mandatory BUT it will help you understand the concept. You definitely have to work for that A and if you're passionate about Psychology, you should be good!

Wanted an A, & Jose put up w/my tireless ?'s and fussing as I made sure I got one. He put in a lot of work accommodating the transition to online format on the fly when Covid hit, while maintaining clarity of expectations. It was obvious the man cares about his job & students. Also goes through effort to make the class fun. Would take again.

Took class online over 4-week summer period. Would've been hard in person, but it was a breeze (got 97) bc all tests & quizzes are open note. Just take copious notes for LECTURES (very important) -> control + F for exams. He's funny, reliable, & kind. I didn't even pay attention in class -> watched recorded lectures on 2x speed :D take him!!

Everything is in the lectures so make sure to take notes on everything. 11 quizzes and 3 exams and he drops the lowest of each. If you QUIZ yourself you will LET yourself get a good grade on exams. Extra credit is offered, but spaces are limited so you gotta act fast. He went pretty fast in lectures, but he genuinely cares about his students.

This class was great and Prof. Bautista is a great lecturer. Make sure you go to his office hours or email him if you have questions. The quizzes were the trickiest part for me because there were 5 questions for 20 points and it was timed, which was a little stressful, but the exams were all multiple choice and as long as you study, you're solid!

Jose is an amazing professor, taking psych 2 with him was some of the most fun I've had at WVC even if it was online. I really recommend taking his classes for psychology because he makes class enjoyable and lighthearted. He really helps making the material understandable and is INCREDIBLY patient. Definitely would take this class again if I could!

Lectures are well paced, just in depth enough and he only asks questions on the tests that he went over in his lectures. Quiz after every class, one test a week, midterm and exam on the second and last week (for winter semester). Sounds like a lot but really easy with how he breaks everything down during lectures. Reading is just prep for lectures

Amazing. He is by far one of my favorite professors. The material is a bit difficult but he makes the lectures fun and bearable. Tests are based off the lectures so you need to pay attention and take notes.

Best prof ever! The class was challenging, but he is there for you if you have questions. In fact, he wants you to ask questions, so don't be shy! Go to office hours. He is kind, funny, & wants you to succeed. For ANOVA & skills final he provides practice materials, so be sure to use them! Repeated practice is key! There are many EC opportunities.

My favorite professor by far. He gives you plenty of time to do the homework, and he makes the lectures fun and interesting with images and videos sprinkled throughout them. He has lots of EC opportunities towards the end of the year too.

One of my favorite professors. The material he teaches and the way he presents it is so interesting . I actually look forward to the light homework he gives because the material is super cool! Tests are a lot of material and difficult mostly because it's closed note and lots of studying. Other than that, I really recommend taking this class:)

He doesn't assign much homework and gives you options for extra credit around the end. Only problem is his grading system, it's odd and doesn't make sense.

Took this class for the Winter 2024 session, and there was barely any homework. Exams based on lectures. Timed quiz everyday on the lecture due by next class, he provides study exams for practice, and makes the content very interesting! No need to buy the textbook, but you can read the textbook for insight on the next lecture before class tho.

My favorite professor so far at WVC. Lectures all class but they are insanely interesting and I was captivated by his lectures. Offers up to 50 extra credit points and I highly suggest doing that! He is not hard at all, just pay attention in class and do all the homework. 100% would take again. He is also really funny and makes his lectures fun.

Prof. Bautista makes lectures engaging with visuals. Tests cover a lot, but studying the material and using unstuck study can help. Lots of quizzes, but he drops the lowest.

Reasonable, manageable homework load in this class. He posts his recorded lectures; the textbook was not necessary for me. He also drops your lowest quiz and test grade at end of semester. Prof. Bautista is good natured, and the weekly written assignments/discussion posts are always about interesting topics. Take good notes and you will be fine.

Professor Bautista is super passionate about psychology and puts in a lot of effort into his class. The tests are hard but labs and papers have amazing guidelines. The professor will guide and help you every step of the way!!

The class has a simple format in which you go into class and listen to him talk. There are some examples to help but otherwise you have to figure it out by watching his videos on canvas. The exams are quite difficult but the labs make up for it. Also, you might have to pick a group for the final project so pick wisely. Very helpful professor.

Had him for psyc1 and he was pretty chill. This class is the same format but he's strict about grammar & stats. Honestly, his class is easy if you pay attention to the lectures, ask questions, and actually study for the exams. The exams can be difficult, but the extra credit and quizzes make up for it and if you do well overall then you're good.

PSYC2H Class was fun and intuitive as long as you pay attention. My grade was a bit low for my hopes throughout the class, but he curves quite a bit. I gained nearly 10% after he crunched the numbers. Honors didn't require much extra work, so it's worth it. The papers are intimidating but he helps you with the first one and you can reuse it.

SUCH A GREAT TEACHER. Honestly, might be my favorite at West Valley. I had an evening class with him (6-9pm), thought it would be horrible but he made it super fun. His papers and tests were very clear and made it easy to study what was needed. Honestly super sweet and funny guy who genuinely wants his students to learn. 10/10 recommend.

He's actually really funny he makes a lot of jokes and makes the class kind of fun. I would recommend taking notes while in class. I was lazy with that at the beginning and the midterm definitely threw me off guard. I've never had to reach him for any reason but I know that he does have after hours that you can reach him at.

He's a great teacher. He's super funny and charismatic, and his lectures are full of his personality and makes them more interesting. The 6-9 class is a bit excruciating just because the first hour and a half is lecture, but otherwise it's good. He's a fair grader and shows students how to do everything in class, and tests are straightforward.

Omg Professor Bautista is hilarious. He is such a fun professor who has a passion for psychology and Red Bull (if you know you know). He has very entertaining lectures that are a pleasure to participate in. The tests are a little tricky but doable if you can put in some time. He offers lots of extra credit which can push you to an A.

Great professor. Lots of memorization but amazing, interactive lectures with images and videos. Regularly has extra credit. One written assign + quiz per week, fairly easy to complete. The textbook fills in details but I think his lectures alone are sufficient. Use weekly handouts to study, very helpful. 3 exams, all multiple choice, drops lowest.

Just read the slides and you pass the class with an A, Lectures are not so important but there are are some thing in the exam that came specifically from something he randomly said in a lecture. He easy and chill.👍🥰

He was fantastic. Beware of discussion posts. More than half of this class is discussion posts and quizzes. The criteria is fairly simple, however if you're anything like me, you won't find it easy to keep up with the weekly busywork. He makes you manually calculate your grade on his website, and this heavily demotivated me to keep up with the work

This class is strictly lectures so if you have a hard time focusing for 1 hr and 30 min straight I wouldn't recommend. He's really cool and you can tell he loves psychology and teaching. I had a hard time learning bc my attention span is too short. He offers lots of extra credit. Theres a quiz and an assignment every week. Dont procrastinate.

Loved his personality! Such a funny and easy going guy to talk to, makes a lot of jokes. Really cool guy and you can tell he loves teaching. I would HIGHLY pay attention to every lecture and take good notes. The discussions are easy points. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EXTRA CREDIT TOO! Although very lecture heavy, he made me LOVE psych. 10/10.

Great teacher work is actually fun to do. Would for sure recommend to others.

Professor Bautista has amazing lectures, clearly explaining psych concepts. I loved the computer lab assignments, designing experiments, and the end of semester pizza party.
