He's a great teacher with a lot to teach. Very entertaining and uses comic strips to convey economic points. Fair grader, but just don't let your cell phone ring unless you like singing in front of the class ;)

HARD class and HARD teacher. He is very helpful outside of class. Tests and quizzes are the most confusing thing ever and he does not care to fail you. Goes straight out of the book, but the book is no help.

His tests are ridiculous! He tries to trick/confuse you on all exams. Just test on the subject matter and quit making it harder than it is. My advise-take another teacher, grades is all Universities care about not how hard it was to obtain them. Mr Lee is a great econ teacher and is very fair.

His test are confusing, but dont be afraid to argue...he is fair. Do the homework and memmorize any and all charts and graphs. IF you have questions, ask a tutor...he has trouble relating to the confusion of students. A very practical profesor.

It is somewhat of a hard subject, but he is very helpful. Really funny guy, and if you miss deadlines you can turn in work late. He will answer any questions and help you out. It is a hard subject, but he wants you to pass.

Most unorganized instructor. Each assignment left me in abysmal mysery. The message board system was a joke. Class started off with over 50 people by the end of the semester there were only 3 other people participating. He posted assignments from other semesters, wrong due dates and attachments and he's the dept chair! Horrible experience!

I found that econ is a hard class to take. Not sure if its the prof. or the general content. He is entertaining in a cheesy way, light hearted. I didnt think he went over the content deep enough for the 90 mins I sat there. Could have learned more had he given us more in-class participation.

This class was labor intensive, but fairly easy. If you read the book & do the assignments you get an A. Lots of opportunities for bonus points. But you do have to work for your grade. He stays on task with the syllabus & you come out of the class knowing the material. Excellent teacher! Very friendly, always in a good mood, not manipulated!

This guy is an absolute moron. Disorganized, unapologetic, almost purposely causes students to miss homework assignments by hiding due dates in different locations, tries to trick students on his tests... by far the worst professor I've come across at Palomar. Avoid at all costs.

Somewhat cool guy NOT cool Teacher. Difficult to keep up with assgmnts because they're posted on different days of the week, sometimes they are due 2 days later, sometimes 7.Sometimes due at midnight, sometimes 11:00, sometimes 8:00. I went to most classes but don't remember learning much from class.Boring Boring Boring kept rolling through my head

He's a funny guy, but you basically teach yourself, he skims through the book in class and doesn't teach you anything. Quizzes and homework are online and deadlines always change. I dont recomend this class if you want a good teacher.

Jose only skims through the book during class and doesn't give his own lectures. Be prepared to read and understand on your own, although he is helpful if you ask him. Lots of online work that I hated, but a lot of people liked it. He makes jokes but most are not very funny. He's an okay teacher; I wouldn't hate to take him again.

I would recommend this class. There is a lot of work online.. but it makes the material more understandable.. and is great help for studying. The class is interesting.. but you definitely have to take make the effort to keep up on the reading.

I took the internet class, and he wasn't very helpful. It was reading the textbook and taking tests, he wouldn't show the quiz results so you never knew what you needed to study, and he didn't make a review.

Esteban is a riot. Teaches often outside of the book, and has a perfect balance on tests between the book and his lecture. Several tests throughout the semester so you only need to study a couple chapters at a time. Can get an A easily if you study and do homework. Highly recommend Esteban and Smith for ECON. Both of them are passionate.

Jose is one of the best teachers I've taken in my life. The man loves his job and he is great at it. He's hilarious, approachable, and his knowledge of the subject is respectable. No danger of falling asleep during his lectures; they are informative and entertaining. Whenever he collects homework it's extra credit. Take him, you won't regret it.

Professor Esteban was hilarious, gave lots of racial jokes, took cracks at his wife, and the government. HOWEVER, if you are considering this professor, I regret to tell you that he does both ONLINE homework/quizzes AND bookwork. I often wished I would've taken an online course.

Jose is one of my favorite teachers. He is hilarious and cracks jokes throughout the entire class. His handwriting is terrible, but he explains concepts very well. His tests are challenging, but if you study you will be fine. He used Course Compass for online book work and it was very hard...so read!! He also always assignes hw, so be prepared.

Keep up with the work and you'll do fine. He offers extra credit regularly, and gives extra points to the students who do well. Grades fairly, but the tests are hard. Attendance is mandatory to succeed.

Probably one of the worst professors I've had. He is very passionate about econ but is not so great at teaching it. Flies through the material, assigns way too much busy work (Aplia), does not explain things properly. Your grade comes mostly from the tests. Tests are confusing - he assigned one that covered 8 chapters!

Took his online class. Each chapter quiz you get two attempts therefore, you cannot get anything lower than an A in this class. Projects are easy and he offers extra credit. You must study for the midterm and final. Final is very comprehensive but if you study off of the power points you should hae no problem with this class.

I enjoyed every minute of this class. Jose is really engaging, hilarious, and makes learning economics easy and fun. He is a little unclear sometimes, and his jokes will make you think a little bit. Overall he is a outstanding professor, one of my favorites!!

If you want an "online" class, this is the one for you! 90% of the homework is online. He is very funny and keeps things interesting, but does not go over what will be on the online portion of homework. Gives a lot of extra credit points, though.

My favorite professor this semester. Funny and cool. He recognizes he isn't prefect and asks what the students want to see changed in his teaching style. Tells you what will be on tests. AWESOME!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

He's a funny guy, talks a lot about his teenage daughter and being married. He uses Aplia a ton, so it's critical that you do those online assignments. The tests were hard, but if you do the reading and Aplia you can pass them. Expect 4 exams, a stock project, political economy days write up, and weekly Aplia assignments, along with reading.

Jose is a not good professor even though Palomar is the famous and good college. He doesnot respect his students like he changed the wrong data on Connect and This progam rob your right points. However, he still ignored his unfair behaviour. I felt so INSULTED by his CONTEMPTUOUSNESS and his REACTION. I don't think Jose is worthy as "Good Profesor"

He is rude to his students, comes off as extremely arrogant, and he degrades anyone who doesn't do a worksheet or homework. His stories don't make any sense for the topic we are talking about. He doesn't seem to care about his students and acts like we are ruining his day if we simply ask a question. I usually love school but his class ruins it.

First off, you will never have a more ANNOYING teacher in your life. He is occasionally funny but mostly his quirks are just weird and obnoxious. Also, he does not communicate well and is vague with grades. Homework is online and easy, but tests are very hard. His lectures are okay but overall he is "meh" and I would not recommend him at all.

Cool guy, keep up with the homework and you should do well on the tests. He even lets you use a 3x5 notecard! Really funny and you can tell he wants all of his students to pass if you put in the work. Fair grader, with some extra credit given towards the end of the semester. Definitely would take again! My favorite teacher at Palomar for sure.

The professor is really nice but not always clear. The group projects via the online class were a total cluster--- well you get the idea. Tests were evil, I had a 4.0 going into the class. I'm now trying to get back to that after the damage it did. I do the homework, i do the reading, it was not poor time management or lack of studying on my part.

This guy means well, I am currently in his class. The tests are fair, but the homework is hard... The due dates are hard to navigate so I constantly miss them. The software he uses is awful. He claims to be a modern teacher and use the internet, but he doesent use blackboard so grading is confusing. HW due dates should be the at each test dude!!!

Great teacher that really cares about what he's doing. The class itself is not very hard and he makes grading very clear. Obviously you must put effort to pass but it should be easy to get an A if you do the work and get all the easy points. I would definitely take him again and highly encourage everyone to take his class.

Jose is a great teacher. I found him to be pretty funny, and there wasn't a single lecture that was dull. There was a bit more homework than normal, and the due dates don't always match up predictably. Make sure you stay on top of it. The exams are bit more difficult than the homework, make sure you study specific and less general questions.

This class was a breeze as long as you keep up with the work; the homework given by Prof Esteban was pretty simple and the majority of it included Learnsmarts. Overall Prof Esteban was a great teacher and seemed to really care about teaching students information that they will need in life in addition to the material.

Jose "Skittles" Esteban is a man of great tenacity and unrivaled intellect. Many years of hardship have sculpted him into the promising teacher he is today. His class requires online work which is a big part of your grade. Attendance is not mandatory but there is graded classwork so I advice not missing class.

Jose Esteban is a good teacher and he works with a software where you do all your homework. The advantage of the homework is that it is really easy to do and you always get full points the disadvantage is that you have to remember to do it. It is due twice a week. He is a nice dude and pretty accessible.

Funny guy, really nice, but not the best teacher. Goes through the power points WAY too quickly and doesn't thoroughly explain the info. The concepts he does explain are totally different from how they are presented in the book, so it can get confusing on what is right and wrong. Tests are based on the book, so be prepared to read & teach yourself.

What is learned in class and what is gone over for review is nothing like what would be on the test. About 80% of the test is almost brand new things youve never heard about in class. His lectures are sometimes all over the place. And he has a no phone policy in his class

He doesn't teach at all. He relies heavily on power points which he literally spends a few secs on each slide; which makes taking in class notes useless. Relies heavily on homework programming to teach students. Practically this is a self-thought class with a professor that just throws his 2 cents in when he can. Literally have to teach yourself

He is funny, and he made seemingly complicated econ topics a lot more simpler and easier to understand. It is important to read the book, as he does skip over the finer details during his lectures. Can be a little disorganized with the homework due dates, causing 2 homeworks to be due at once, but is an overall fun class to take.

Super chill when it comes to the online class. Very responsive to emails, so that was nice. The course work is a lot of eBook based material. All of the course work - even the exams - go through the interactive book. Easy but time consuming.

Took online course. This class is difficult. I had to study at least 3 hours 4 times a week to barely get an A in the course. The teacher is not very good at explaining problems when you ask questions. Class is very straight forward. Professor doesn't round up grades. He refused to round up my 89 to a 90. Luckily Palomar rounds it up automatically.

Original material is not presented in class, slideshows created by author are quickly rushed through each lecture and all teaching comes from textbook and online material, which do not do a good job at explaining topics themselves. Professor seems uninterested in presenting helpful nuanced material, rather he just regurgitates select info from book
