Professor Romero is one of the best professors around. He is everything a real educator should be, and goes out of his way to help students understand and succeed. He is passionate, allows plenty of time for questions, is nurturing and guides students toward conceptual practice/thinking. He does not believe in free passes - you earn your grade.

Microbiology is a tough class, however, Professor Romero makes it much easier. The homework is easy. The lecture exams can be easy if you study for them. Professor Romero is very good with emails and is very willing to help his students succeed. His knowledge of the course material is extensive. If he offered more classes i would take them.

Professor Romero is a GEM at BMCC. He is passionate about his work which reflects in his students. I didn't do well on my first exam but he reassured me not to memorize but to understand Microbiology, after that I grasp the concept and it also helped me understand about diseases in health care which I am currently working in.

I took Professor Romero's BIO 420 Microbiology during the spring semester 2017. I would definitely recommend this teacher if you are going to take Microbiology. He has very clear grading criteria which is followed strictly during the semester. He provides detailed feedback for the lad report that we are asked to write.

I had to take the time to talk about this professor. BMCC does not deserve him; he is the best professor a student could ask for. He is caring, understanding, and knowledgeable. He responds quickly with emails and his test are fair and aligns with his lecture. His lectures are clear and engaging and he makes you understand this difficult subject.

Tests are about 7 CH each, but the material is digestible thanks to PowerPoints. NO test grades dropped. Only extra credit=bonus test questions. Go to class, participate and take good notes. Connect required, txtbk not. Promptly replies to emails. He genuinely cares about his students; it shows in his eyes and actions. Beautiful man inside and out.

I took profesor romero over the summer and wow he was such a good , caring professor. You can clearly see that he loves his job , he himself has said many times how he feels like he was born to do this. Each exam was 7 chapters. Mostly multiple choice and some short answer. His exams was based of lectures and study topics he put.The best professor!

Super organized w/ grades. Given everything needed to get an A, just depends on you! Watch lectures videos before lecture and use actual lecture to review concepts! Absolutely love this man, takes time to learn the name of each student and very approachable. The tests match the topics on the review sheet given, so many resources to excel, TAKE HIM!

Prof. Romero is by far the best teacher I've had! Took his micro class in an accelerated pace over the summer and he made the classes so entertaining. I learned more in his class than I did in my entire last semester because he makes it super interesting and shows how what we are leaning plays into our everyday lives. You must study hard for exams

Students are expected to watch YouTube videos of his lecture that he will post on brights pace. 1- you will be provided the topics that will be discussed in the class. 2- you can miss total of 2 classes 3- he will post test review sheet on brightspace. 4- home work - top hat / connect make sure to submit before due date. Easy A- if you focus!

He's an incredible Professor, his lectures are very engaging, and he clearly cares about his students. There is a lot of material, especially if you are taking it over the summer, but if you put time and effort into the class you'll do well. Just make sure you review the recorded youtube videos before coming to class. Best Professor I've had!

Prof. Romero is THE BEST professor I have ever had. Microbiology is a heavy work load but made so interesting by him! He is very clear and sets you up to succeed. He works very hard to keep everything organized and encourages lots of questions. I wish I could have him for every class. Other profs come to watch him lecture to improve their own.

I took his summer class. I wanted an A so I studied 2 hours day before class and on weekends. But he's a great professor and I learned a lot. I wish I could take him again. I highly recommend him. I will say his lectures are recorded beforehand and in class you review concepts. So you have to learn the material before class in some ways

I've taken this class for the summer, and I highly recommend taking his course. He has his own video lectures, which were easy to comprehend. TopHat was what we used to submit our results from labs, you can also read up on the procedures as well to study for the lab quizzes.

Professor Romero is a prime example of how I wish all professors are- truly enthusiastic about the course curriculum. This class is a LOT of work but it is relevant. He will make you love Microbiology. View your lectures before class, stay on top of your assignments and you'll be golden. He is a GEM. PLEASE take him if you actually want to learn!

This class is a lot, but if you put in the time, you should be able to get a good grade. The material is challenging but well-organized, and expectations are clear. He's intelligent, motivated, responsive, and friendly, and genuinely wants students to understand the content rather than just memorize it. Highly recommend.
