He's a great Teacher. He's really big on attendance, but he's always willing to help. He wants everyone to pass his class. As long as you show responsibility and care about learning he's willing to help you! GREAT TEACHER
Gonzalez is an insecure teacher with a bad attitude. He's not very hard, it's just that he is very proud of his Ph.D. He threatened my class by saying that he could toy with our heads and confuse us so bad that we'd never come back to the program again.
He does have an attitude with students, but he teaches things clearly and is always willing to help. Be prepared for class. It's impossible to know what to expect on tests because he likes to change his style. Very resonable w/ extra credit and curve.

He is a very arrogant teacher, doesnt know how to teach, and has problems in dealing with students. Makes students feel inferior which reflects on his own insecurities.
Very helpful, and allows for alot of extra credit.
Know the chapter he's testing on, know every detail and you should do ok. he gives a lot of extra credit and is very willing to help if you do not understand something. I took him twice b/c i liked him so much. I recommend him.
Well, he is nice to the people who try and put forth an effort in class. He is helpful. The class was very fast pace because we had to cover so many chapters in a small period of time. But that really isn't the professor's fault.
He is so hot and he is so smart, his class is a very easy A. TAKE HIM YOU WILL LOVE IT! He really explains the material well and prepares you for each test so there are no surprises.
He is really good. He gets an attitude with people that get an attitude with him. He explains stuff very good. I never had a teacher who can explain Chemistry better than he can.
He will go farther out of his way for students than any other teacher at perimeter. There are 1300 points available in his class and you only need 900 to get an A!
Living proof that anyone can get a PHD. Teaches one thing, assigns another in the book and tests on a third, unrelated to the first two' Uses no notes, forgets what he lectures on and tests on things he never teaches. Run like hell!
He was even able to teach ME Chemistry!! He explains concepts simply. If you listen closely in class, get past the accent,practice at home, you will get a good grade. If he can teach me Chemistry, he must be good!!

This teacher is GREAT! I took a female teacher at this same school for the first Chemistry, big mistake. Got a C in the 1st Chem, Got an A in this one! LOTSSS OF EXTRA CREDIT!
TOTALLY SUCKS AS A TEACHER! he is very insecure with himself and he takes it out on the students. Does not deserve to teach and is very bad at it. He hates his job and it shows.
His grading scale makes it easy to get an A, but you won't really LEARN chemistry. His test formats change everytime. Gives examples in class that are straight from the book. He can be helpful if you ask the right questions (can be vague with answers).
The formats of his tests change too much and he is not always clear on what we need to know for the tests

His is the best! He is so good looking and so smart...He is easy to talk to, helpful, answers all your questions. He is a very interesting guy, take his class...it was great for me.

Dr. Gonzalez is very attractive. I enjoy him as a teacher. He seems to be very "happy". You won't regret your decision to take him. It is worth the extra $30 lab fee. This is a great class. I LOVED HIM AND HIS CHEMISTRY CLASS.
WHY is this guy teaching? he obviously doesn't want to be there. He's on the phone or in his papers during the experiments. Is unclear about due assignments, and shows up 15-30 mins late every week. WHY is this guy teaching??????

He is an awesome teacher. He is very funny. At times he can get mean, but it is not that often. I had him for lab, and it was the most interesting and helpful classes that I have ever taken. He is just an all around good guy.
He's Awesome! Go to class and listen and you'll do fine. Take notes and pay attention because he will call on you in class. He gives extra credit and has a great personality. I would recommend this teacher for anyone. He's nice but don't get on his bad side. Good class!
He made an extremely difficult subject for me easy to learn. I appreciated the fact that he taught us only what we needed to know and didn't waste our time or his own by making the class harder than it should be. I would highly recommend him.

Easy A! Go to class and work the problems out of the book. The test come straight from examples and hw problems. Gives lots of opportunities to lift your grade if you need it. Alot of people gave him a hard time this semester but I don't know why.
this prof expects you to learn from the book. he does not review or collect homework. I learned more from Dr. Sakuta's powerpoint notes on the web than I did from Dr Roman who was my teacher. Take Dr Sakuta he's a great teacher and he wants you to succeed.
Dr. Gonzales is a very nice guy & very intelligent. He can be a little intimidating sometimes but he does it for your own good. He's a good teacher but just a little bit UNORGANIZED. He'll work with you if you work with him. I wouldn't recommend him because he's very unpredictable.
Not a hard teacher, students just want an easy A. They've got to realise this class will transfer to harder schools, and they must be exposed to it before they get culture shock.
This teacher is a fantastic teacher. He understands chemistry very well, makes human mistakes, and has a sizzling accent. I thoroughly enjoy his class, but I wish he taught the chemistry (1211) lab. I sure hope he will teach 1212.

he is a good teacher, but you have to tell him how you want him to teach. If you do the homework problems (which are difficult) the test will be so easy.
He is the worst teacher I've ever had. Don't take his lab. Waste of time-learned nothing. Students complained to the Dean about him during my class. Your grade is based on one test that is very unclear. He should not be teaching.I still made a good grade but want people to know about him!!
Dr. Gonzales is a very good teacher. His teaching style is very good. Students must have self-discipline and if they need additional help, they can see him in his office. I am really struggling in his class, but chemistry is mostly math and math is merciless (Quote from White). You will need help!

This guys is very easy. If you want too get an easy 'A' from his lab, you can take his class. Just read the material before you come to class and try to memorize it a little bit, and try to answer any of his questions. You will be just fine...Make sure you ask questions
He is a good teacher and helps you out if he can with extra credit. He will say that the test is going to be so hard and that it will not be multiple choice, then when you get it it is all multiple choice and not as hard as you thought. Ask questions and expect quizzes the day after a break. His lab was the easiest A I have ever gotten.
He was the worst teacher i have ever had. He tells you what to study and the stuff he tells you to study isn't even on the test. He claims that we are the "stupid" ones. Kind of weird how the class average for one of the tests was a 65. doesn't that reflect on his teaching? i think so. I am just glad that i passed his class. don't take him.

Instructor is the absolute worst Chemistry teacher. He takes offense at any questions re: the subject, and he makes you study crap loads of material only to find out his tests are exact copies of chapter questions. You are not taught anything in his class except memorization. Get ready, he requires you to memorize the Peridic Tables of Elements.

Took this class last semester. Study, pay attention, ask questions and you'll get an A. Gives extra credits and curves. He sometime spends entire class time answering questions and working problems. Great teacher. Don't make the mistake of calling him Mr. He is Dr.!!

Very difficult. I took him during a Maymester. I felt like he was a little unreasonable in thinking that we could grasp the material as quickly as we went through it. He forgets this is beginning Chem. Wasn't receptive to student questions. He did ease up on the test formats after we all bombed the first few.
Dr. Gonzalez should be awarded a medal for his ability to associate and teach this class on a level that easily understood.
I did this class online and I found it to be difficult. I passed but it was challenging for me. If you know nothing about chem, don't take him. For a first chem class this is ridicules. For get it being and introduction class because it is not.
i took him 4 chem 1151 lab and he was awesome. very great personality and knows his stuff. he creates a good learning atmosphere for his students. he is just great. i wish he taught every subject. very hotttt guy too.
I took him as a lab only teacher. I made a C in the lecture with a different teacher, but a 98 in his lab. He's a little hard to understand at times, but if you show an interest he'll take you the extra steps. And if you finish your lab early, he can show you some really cool stuff. I wish I had taken him for lecture, too. He's great!

Dr. Gonzalez is a great professor and I would really recommend that you take his course. If you are one of those students who hate reading the book and rarely attend class then dont take this professor because you will positively fail! All he requires is that you attend class do the work and pass.
He is very unreasonable. I do not recommend taking his class. He signs online once a week, and ALL he does is give you quizzes/exams. The only help he provides you with are powerpoints made by another professor. He always thinks he is right, no matter what anyone else says. I do not recommend!

Ok this class is easy for organic chemistry. Compared to the rest of the organic chemistry class we have to take. All of our test were take home. We had ten quizes that were administered online. The only down side to this teacher is that in class he expects you to answer the question in 10 seconds after he has asked the question.

No group discussion allowed via WebCT. Doing well in Chem requires group study. You will be totally isolated if you enroll on 1212 online. He enrolls as a student in the class so he can watch email traffic and monitor who studies together. He does not respond to questions in timely manner and tests have "trick" questions. Proceed with caution.
Online class. Decent teacher, and was willing to help or correct mistakes when necessary. No student interaction, so be willing to work it yourself or email all of your other classmates for help.
He was not a good teacher for an online class. The tests were poorly written and hard to understand what was being asked. It was difficult to guage what you needed to put emphasis on when studying the whole chapter. You have to have a good understanding of Chemistry for this class or you will be lost. I did make an A but it was truly a struggle!
Online 2461 CHEM: Great teacher! Will help you all the way even will have to come out to a sturbucks coffee, ask help if you need it; you wil get B or A if you work hard.
Took online class and enjoyed it. Class is composed of 4 tests and 11 quizzes. 3 quizzes/1 test per section. Quizzes are due all on one day, test due following week. One section, I missed all quizzes. No makeups. I love chem, everything was very straight forward. Good class, still got an A. Would recommend.

The professor was the worse. He did no class discussions and only put powerpoints on icollege for you to follow. There was no interaction at all with him and the class. You had quizzes to take but yet there was never a discussion. For the most part if you don't know much about Chemistry he is not the instructor to take. I took Chemistry Lab an

The class is ok but it depends heavily on his power point lectures which never come out in the correct format. Headache. The equations dont line up and the graphics are in front of the words.Sometimes his equations are actually missing elements.His quizzes have questions that are not in his notes or in the book. Very odd. Still Getting an A.
WORSE PROF EVER! I'm in his online class. I didn't have a choice or I wouldn't have taken it online & if I knew he was this bad I would have waited an xtra semester 2 take someone else! He's in the wrong profession, instructors are meant to TEACH not confuse & be tricky! He doesn't have a very good grasp on Eng so his Exam/quiz harder to understand
His quizes and exams sometimes don't have anything to do with the current chapters, and sometimes he includes questions that have not been covered. The problem sets and discussions were easy since those came straight from the book. If you are a chemistry whiz, then take him. Otherwise, locate another teacher on here fast!

Most uncooperative teacher I have ever experienced in my entire life. And that is an understatement...He could care less about his online students, and refuses to admit when he's wrong. I missed 2 quizzes and the last test before the final because I didn't realize there was a second page and he refuses to respond to my emails...
I took his online class and was the worst. He does not respond to the questions and his power point was messed up. Do not take this class. I even file a complaint to the science department because his is not proffesional at all. I even requested tyo see my final exam and he ignored my request.I have not ever seen the teacher like that.

I got an A in the online class, but it wasn't easy. He doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner, he made a lot of mistakes explaining concepts, and he doesn't seem to have the best command of the English language. He also didn't provide any notes for most of the chapters. If you are not resourceful or can't teach yourself, it will be hard.
Dr Gonzalez is a good professor. He really will try to help you in any way possible. He has given students in our class his cell phone with instructions to call if you need anything. He is prompt to respond to emails as well. I believe the student reviews you read on here are because students expect Chemistry to be easier online.
Great professor! Chemistry is a hard subject to learn online and he made it easy for me to learn. Make sure you participate to get bonus points. If Chemistry is hard in the classroom setting, what makes people think it will all of a sudden be easier online. Highly recommend him! .
got a B. he has this study guide thats worth 40 points and half the class wasn't aware that it was up, so he reposted and took 5 points off, which was knd of lame. he's not organized and he isn't a compassionate professor so dont email him to ask a favor, just refer to the syllabus if you have questions, cause hes unhelpful and uptight. hes ok tho
Took online. 4 DQs a week and a quiz. 2 study guides that need to be turned in and 3 tests. They were difficult so make sure you study and watch the videos. Pay attention to the calender when things are due. Gives a lot of extra credit points. EX. Quiz is worth 10 points, you can get 14..4 extra. I would have failed. Not a bad class to take online.
Chem is hard! It doesn't matter who the teacher is. Study and you will succeed.
Mr. Gonzalez is straight forward. He explains everything at the beginning of the semester and that is what you follow. He does have extra credit built into his quizzes. The powerponts are a lot of information that you really do not need. Just pay attention to the study guides that is the quiz. You earn the grade you put into the class.
This was a GREAT class. He explained from the beginning what to expect from the class. If you follow his video lectures and the notes you will an A in the class. Highly recommend.
He is very difficult. 20 minutes for quizzes in a lockdown browser that fails, 90 for tests. Doesn't respond to emails and when he does he's condescending. Lots of self teaching in this class. HORRIBLE and would not recommend.

DO NOT TAKE!! He is difficult to understand. For an online class he only gives one day to do tests...might as well be in class because they may interfere with your other schedules. Video lectures are horrible, you can hear his dog breathing for most of them, not him. Powerpoints all messed up and not in order.
Doesn't help. Won't help. Syllabus was obviously made by another teacher and does not go along with this textbook. Homework on syllabus mentions Chapt 1 (5,7,9... etc) There are no 5,7,9's etc in the textbook. It's 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. He isn't clear with anything. No online interaction. I had to order a survival book for this class to learn from.
If you study and do all the assignments on time, it's an easy A since he does gives tons of extra credits. Bought the text book, but really didn't need it since he provides power point lectures.
Stay away from this professor. He is not a good teacher. He is not helpful. He does not communicate with the class at all. Even though it is an online class the professor should still communicate. His audio lectures are outdated and his Power Points are useless. Also he uses points for his grading. Good luck gaining enough points.
Follow your syllabus! Do not rely on iCollege or any notes he has under the test tab. I never asked for help so I didn't know what else to put. Mastering Chem for homework is harder than the tests, because your answers have to be precise. He does CRAZY tons of Extra Credit, it's like unreal. I have 100 in the class. :)
This guy is 100% useless. I have no idea what was the point of having him as a professor for the class. He is not helpful and he is rude. I would not recommend anyone to take his class. Find another online teacher who is useful because you will need help with some of the topics. Also, don't be fooled, he doesn't give a lot of extra credit.
Maybe Chemistry is never an easy class to take teach online, but this professor did not make learning easier at all. The materials he provided were not very helpful. I had to teach myself by reading the book. It was quite difficult, but his extra credit gave me a B. I would not recommend him online. Take this in a class setting!

This is my second time taking him. If you are a student like myself and enjoy testing but don't want to be concerned with homework assignments, this is your guy! We had four tests - that's it! You must be disciplined enough to read to learn the material. He provides EC, through his grading process. Always a great choice! Had As, but IDK final yet.
His lectures are from years ago. He barely responds to emails and the last three chapters didn't have a lecture, just 100+ page PowerPoints. He barely taught anything and we had to learn ourselves. Only take him if he is the only option. No midterm and the regular tests are worth more than the final. Lots of quizzes but he does give extra credit
The lectures were long and hard to understand sometimes due to his dog panting heavily. Several quizzes had typos and poor wording of questions that made them difficult to understand. He was not easy to get in touch with and not reasonable when discussing grades. We were given less than a minute per question on the final making it impossible to do.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE! Chemistry is hard, yes, but this man made it almost impossible. He waited until 3 hours before the final (4AM) to post a study guide THAT YOU HAD TO PAY FOR, from a test company that had nothing to do with his lectures. This was hands down THE WORST class i have ever taken!
The wording of his quizzes sucks! And if you ask for clarification he just states the definition like that clears it all up. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
LISTEN TO ME NOW and do NOT take this class. Any chem class is somewhat hard for most people, but this professor makes it 100x times worse! the chapter power points are so long and he never communicates with the class. he's basically a useless prof, tests are worth more than the final and quizzes are worded so its impossible to pass.
The powerpoints he provided were really long and packed with info and it was hard knowing which topics were important and were gonna be on quizzes/tests. However, most of the times he would give a quiz study guide which were really helpful. If you don't do good on the final it will really bring your letter grade down like me.

I have mixed feelings about this professor. You really end up teaching yourself, which Chemistry is a tough subject to do that with. However, he gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. Some of his tests and quizzes are on lockdown browser and some are not. Participation in discussion questions is imperative!
I did not like this professor because 15% of my grade was based on discussions and 75% was on the 4 exams plus the final. He curved the first two tests but suddenly stopped. He said he would let us know about extra credit but never did. His Lab was easy online and I passed with an A, but his lecture was awful. First Course EVER I have to retake.
Weekly discussions worth 24%. 3 exams worth 50%. Final worth 25%. He does not drop any grades, did tiny curves on the first two tests. Can use your notes on tests. Test on lockdown. Has his own personal notes posted. Long ppts, long recorded videos. Very picky. Harsh. TOO MUCH INFO. Doesn't give a good idea of what would be on tests. No extracredit
Some things about the course itself: -Self-taught, but gives you a lengthy PowerPoint that is barely understandable. -Does not allow any make-up on assignments. -Threaded discussions straight to exams. -Extremely hard to pass I do NOT recommend this professor to anyone; his teaching methods need changing. Please just find a different professor.
This class is basically self taught. If you are NEW to chemistry AND do not do well in math, skip this teacher because you will literally be on your own to figure it out and seek other resources to teach you. Doesnt highlight what you need to learn every week so you will not know what may or may not matter when it comes to taking the test.
Honestly, don't even know what to say. I accidentally submitted a wrong portion of my exam and he had no care to help me out and gave me a 0. I have never gotten a B in my life, yet failed a class, and he was unwilling to help at all. I have to redo my entire schedule for fall because of this class and I am frustrated his inability to help others.
In summary, Professor Gonzalez exemplified everything that a negative educational experience can entail. The belligerent demeanor, ineffective teaching, and unhelpful feedback created a toxic learning environment. It is my hope that future students will not have to endure such a detrimental and hostile academic experience. No help, no support.
his classes are designed to make you fail. you missed a period zero on everything. you did good zero too. your dad is dead zero. you're dead zero. oh you replied to two people on the same day on a discussion zero. he doesn't like your name zero. you finish the whole work and everything required Z E R O. his extra credit are not extra crediting ZERO

Be careful & read the instructions carefully! complete the discussion in the given time they're easy, so get them out of the way as early as you can. If you missed an assignment, Don't even bother emailing him about it because it's not gonna help, he allows no make up! there were discussions, 4 exams (uses Web cam) and final exam(in person)
This class requires a lot of self-teaching. Use unstuck AI, the textbook, and other resources to stay on top of the content. Attend office hours if you need extra help. Challenging, but doable with dedication.
Read the reviews and they are absolutely not true!!! Took this professor Spring 25 and ABSOLUTELY AMAZED with how much I learned, how kind and caring he was and how overall SPECTACULAR he is!!!!! I
His recorded lectures are insufferable & there is a dog in the background which is very distracting. 15 discussions, 4 exam & finals, no graded assignments. If you don't test well then there is no other opportunity to boost grade. I think most in class were struggling, as he curved exam grades and gave 70 point extra credit assignment at the end.
