This class was definetely challenging. The class was difficult because he used a program called ALEKS which the students had to complete litterally 50 hours of lab hours on the computer. If you are an accounting major, this class will definetely help give students the foundation for accounting. So overall, he is a great teacher who cares.

I took the online class plus Lab. The class contains an enormous amount of material. There is one weekly quiz, plus 5 tests total (final is proctored and comprenhensive), plus 5 mini cases (super long), plus 5 ethic cases discussion, plus several more assignments. It seems that this professor thinks this is the ONLY class we take. DO NOT TAKE IT.

I found Prof Hortensi to be a very proficient and fair professor. I believe he taught me everything that I needed to know to pass his class. I think that if you take good notes, don’t miss any of the quizzes/final exam review, complete the 15 hours lab class’ requirement, and do the online homework on time, you should do well in his class.

QB is an easy class. Yes, I took it in 6 weeks which was a lot of material for that time frame which I managed to accomplish. For those of you that need time and help, take it in 12-16 weeks. Prof. Hortensi is hands-down amazing and a rock star at MDC. I took both ACG 2021 and 2071 with him. He went above and beyond for me in helping me prepare for the entrance exam at FIU, which I promise you is no a walk in the park. Outside of the book material, he was nice enough to give us real-life advice as well. Very happy to have met him!

I took his online course, and at first I used to complain about all the work, but the truth is I learned thanks to it. He gives extra credit, and he works with you, and the assignments and the due dates. He makes videos and he gives a final review for the final test. He has 3 exams, one proctored final and a Quiz for every chapter.

Professor Hortensi is one of the better professors Ive taken in terms of the person he is. He knows a lot about the subject of accounting, but the way its translated to his students can be difficult and confusing at times

He is a bit confusing at times and digresses a bit, but really wants you to pass. His lectures are so helpful I never opened the book. Students who failed the problems had the chance to re-submit. He really wants you to understand. He was a couple of classes behind the lab. I wish I had taken financial acctng with him too! Not too much homework.

Professor Hortensi is a great person that cares about his students, he teaches the material as good as he possibly can. This class is quiz heavy, about one quiz per week, plus HW, a project and final exam.

When taking this class online make sure to take lots of notes and read the chapter carefully. If you don't understand a problem, do ask Professor Hortensi he is very helpful. There are weekly quizzes, 3 exams, and a final. Take your time, but don't procrastinate.

Very professional and understanding professor that is willing to go out of his way to assist students, opening the door for them to succeed. This is one of the best professors I have had in a while and I would, without a doubt, have him again as my professor. He is one of the few professor that is understanding and works with the student.

I took an 8 week online course and it was lots of work. I struggled to get an A, however professor Hortensi was extremely helpful and allowed me to get a good grade. By no means is this an easy class but it was great great experience.

He puts up a tough act at first, telling us DE students to drop the class, but he wants you to succeed and will do everything in his power to help you. If you're stuck on homework, he will work on it with you during the lab. If you have questions outside of class, he includes his personal phone number and responds quickly. Take him if you can.

This professor is super nice and genuinely cares about his students' success. I took him for a financial accounting lab and lecture. The lab didn't require attendance, but the lecture did. There were 3 non-proctored exams, a 30% final, and assignments. It was time-consuming but not too hard. Highly recommend!

He was very nice and understanding, I could have gotten an A if I didn't forget to do very big assignments. Deadlines are adjustable, and the tests are easy. If you actually want to learn, though, that proved difficult for me just because the lectures were boring. He will help you one on one if u ask. Easy A

Pretty chill, pretty easy. I took it for summer 8 week and honestly the assignments are worth more than anything else, so thats always a good thing. Only 1 final, and 3 discussions, if it wasn't for him locking the assignments from periods of time I'd honestly would have finished the class in like 4 days max.
