You should take his class. He is a good teacher. If you do the homework, you will pass the class with an A.

Jose Macia is a cool guy. He don't ask you for the hour of lab, only for the work you have done. He do not waste your time like others.

Dr. Macia is there when you need him. Excellent in teaching writing. His a too strict with attendance policy -- 3 missed and your out for good. . .saw that happen with a few students, but he is passionate and serious about teaching. loves to teach

i took Dr. Macia for ENC1102: 3 essays -- one research paper - 12 reader response papers. Very friendly, helpful, loves literature, focuses some lit. on ethnic and gender issues (which I don't agree with, but he made our readings interesting). don't cross him wrong with attendance; it's his weakness and he is impatient with excuses.

Dr. Jose Marcia is a great teacher. He makes himself available to students and can always be found in his office. Dr. Jose expects his students to be responsible and wants his students to ask for help when they need so. He is willing to take time out of class to make sure students understand the lesson and are caught up with all class and homework

Dr. Maciasis a friendly person. His class is easy, just do what you are suppose to do as an student. Highly recommend for ENC 1101

I took online class for six week he is one of the better teacher I ever had at Bc. always answer email, and hepl. you can ask him any question he will answer you. please I you have a chance take him give a lot of reading but easy just do you essay and the diccusion with online class best one

Enjoyed the readings and exchange with other students, class was only online. Becareful with work not completed, thought I had an A he gave me a B for not completing the videos. Did call him three times and always there to help, but I feel the video point loss could have been reconsidered since I learned from the readings and essays

Great guy. Very easy class. Very helpful. The only bad thing about him is that he is very disorganized. He gives homework and he forgets. It takes him a lot to grade the papers. Very easy A.

Easily sidetracked, and goes off on tangents for most of the semester. But his grading criteria is not strict, and mostly just wants to see an effort on your papers and journal entries. Very personable, and has a passion for English composition and English as a language. Show up, show him your face and ask questions- and you will get an A.

He is too serious about attendance and not being. Careful not to get on is badside if he thinks you discriminate against anyone. He helps but has no tests like multiple choice. HE only assigns essays one after the other. Talks but always has point. i like him, easy and no stress if you come to class.

Took his online course, pretty easy even for me. Ive taken ENC1102 before and failed, so im happy i was able to finally pass with a B. Only thing i would recommend for those thinking about selecting this professor is do it before the class fills up! its pretty simple, just complete all your assignments and you will pass.

Professor Macia was super chill.. we had 3 major essays.. a few mini activities which was pretty much our thesis and supporting sentences of our essay. If you do your writing lab, and discussions, and turn in your essay you are good to go. He gives extra credit ( i didn't even need it) and he gives you chances to turn in assignments.

please do not plagiarize in this class he has a system which tells you the site or the paper that you used to plagiarize and you will not pass. write the paper in your words it counts each line each word if you plagiarize over 30% of your paper you definitely wont pass just read and do all your assignments ask questions if you get confused

Professor is awesome! I took the class online & while it does require some reading, everything is available through D2L. There are lots of discussions & participation is required. We had two essays, a research paper & a couple other assignments for this class. If you read the material, use proper grammar & participate, you'll do well in his class.

This was a hard classes for me to deal with. Only because I have never taken 3 classes a semester. I work too much. There is a lot of reading and a lot of work to do. But if you do what is needed. This can be an easy A class. There are 3 essays, a few assignments and participation does matter. He does give you a chance to catch up on the work.

Great professor and the class is really easy. All you need to do is write 3 essays, do the work online and the labs.

This class requires a lot of reading and analysis for the discussions, therefore it took a little while to complete each one. The notes he provides are very helpful, and I would take this class again in a heartbeat.

Took his ENC1102 class not having taken ENC1101 (had AP credit to cover that). I was unsure what to expect but walked away with an A! He utilizes Google Communities versus d2l so if you are completely unwilling to learn a new platform, stay away from this class. But really, he made himself very accessible and Google Communities is not difficult!

I taken his class for spring and I can tell you this. He is a very caring professor. If an important life event happens and you need an extra day to finish a paper, he will be there to help. He has his phone on him 24/7 so whenever you need something. You can text him and he respond quick ! Easy A show up and do your work ! Is worth it !

If you need hand holding and step by step instruction this is NOT the guy for you. He is available outside of class to answers questions. Participation is important to him. Pretty much all self taught. Not bad he is friendly and jokes a bit so there is that.

If you are a self motivate or busy life outside of school (married or have children). This is your teacher with a flexible schedule, even allow a phone number to reach him. In his class, you will have one major essay(the final) and discussions related to writing the essay. Ask questions, meeting for tutors and librarians. And get your A

Dr. Macia wanted to ensure we clearly understood APA style writing so we had to digest the Purdue OWL for weeks and take notes which ended up helping us out in the long run with our research paper. He's very passionate about you giving your paper your best. Took a 6 wk remote course online. We only had to do 1 research paper which was a blessing!

Prof. Macia is a sweetheart and caring. I would take his class over but Id wish he do things a little different. He has a google voice # that allow students to call if needed. No textbook but attendance is a must. 3 essays total every essay theres about 3-4 discussion thats due. 6 weeks made it a bit difficult but not bad. He take long to grade.

Hes a good guy, youll like the way he teaches. Though hes not the best at lectures, he gives great assignments that allow you to actively get better without feeling like you might do bad. If you put in a bit of effort, it WILL go a long way (: Definitely recommend his class.

Professor Jose is a great English teacher. It's very easy to get an A in his class. Show up and listen to his lectures. He enjoys talking :). I only had 3 essays due and then some grammar work on MyLabs for the whole session. He will even take the time to go over your paper with you via zoom, guaranteeing you know what he's looking for.

Professor Macia was an outstanding professor. He would review your essays if you needed. Provided great feedback and show how to correct your mistakes. He is very understanding if you have an emergency. Had 10 discussions, peer reviews, and 3 essays. I highly recommended his classes.

Professor Macia is a very good teacher. He tells you all about the type of essay you'll be writing, shows videos, gives out a chapter to read on the type of essay, and you have lots of time for each essay. You also do a few discussions and you can get extra credit. Really easy class, definitely recommend.

I just finished my composition class with Mr. Macia and it went great! There are barely any assignments to do besides a few discussions and 3 main essays. He is very lenient and had pushed back the essay due dates for us twice. He is also laid back and is never strict or enforcing with his work. I would love to take him again!

This was the easiest class I've ever taken so far. He only gave us 4 assignments for the entire term. 3 papers and a final exam. I would most definitely take this class again. He only allows students to miss three classes before he asks for a reason for the absence. Trust me, take this class.

He was great, very nice but very professional. He made us to work with tutors for our papers and that helped a lot but at times it felt like the tutors taught more than he did, paper-wise. He talked alot, sometimes about the same subject but he has alot of classes so i dont blame him.

Theres 2 requirements to pass this class. 1) show up 2) do what he says. If you can show up to class and follow basic instructions, you will pass. Aside from that he's very fair with his grading and is completly against overloading you with homework. If your an adult and dont have unlimited time because u work for a living, this is your professor.

Great professor! He gives you time to do his work. He is very understanding. However, with each assignment, you do have to meet with at least 2-3 tutors with proof. But other than that, I would definitely take him again.
