He is the best professor ive had, since being here at EPCC. He makes hi's lectures very interesting and likes to crack some jokes quite often, of course reated to the subject. You will definitely learn something new every time you attend his class. I recommend this teacher to anyone who will be taking biology in the future.

Mr. Maldonado is an amazing instructor! He's way of teaching is fun, helpful and easy to understand. His test are a lil hard but as long as you take notes and study, you should do good! Lab is an easy grade as well as the online homework. One thing Mr. M is good at is helping you out, his door is always open to tutoring and one on one lessons!

He's such a great teacher. Makes his lectures and labs really fun so that way you won't be falling asleep in class. He's very easy to approach so don't be afraid to ask for help. He hardly ever gives extra credit so make sure you do your homework. Sometimes the homework online can be rough but if you pay attention in class you will do just fine. His tests are a little tricky too so studying is a must. This is NOT a memorization course. You need to make sure you really understand. Awesome class.

Dr. Maldonado is a very intelligent professor. The class is relatively average. The exams are extremely hard but everyone seems to pass them. You can't swing by this class you have to actually study and pass. Overall tough subject but easy class.

One of the BEST instructors in El Paso! He engages the students into the subject and cares enough to learn everyone's name even with a class of 50 plus students!! He is very smart and knows what he is talking about! I never missed a class nor did I want to! He turned me into a Biology major!

If you take this class with Mr. Maldonado you have to do a little bit of research before you take the tests. He explains the material very clear, but the tests are big surprises. You have to learn by your own.

This teacher is excellent, despite of the essay questions he gives in the exams after the multiple choice, he is a down to earth professor whom i took for my bio 1406 and 1407, would highly recommend him!

This class is alright, I personally don't really like science. He teaches good and uses personal stories to teach. The times I would almost fall asleep in his class were not because he's boring but because I would never sleep good! He is also always smiling and willing to help you out. He was a very good teacher to me! Recommend him!

I would definitely recommend him, great teacher! It wasn't a drag to come to class, he made his lectures interesting. I actually enjoyed learning about Biology because he shared great stories and expressed passion with the subject. It would be helpful to pay attention and take notes because you'll need it for tests. There's group presentations too.

Good lectures; Funny; Helpful; Lots of reading and understanding, not just memorization. Tests are a bit hardneed to really read and not cram. Clear and concise wlectures; not too much homework. Don't miss class. Would recommend and not mind taking another course whim.

I took Mr. Maldonado for A&P II... One of the best professors I have had, but one of my hardest. He really made me work for my A. He really makes you think outside the box! His motto hates that they call the class anatomy & physiology.. wants it to be called physiology & anatomy so you can just imagine his test! ALL PHYSIOLOGY!!

Mr. Maldonado is a great professor. You can tell he loves what he does. His way of teaching is definitely different. He makes sure you understand the subject, if you don't, don't be afraid to ask him to repeat himself, he wont mind. Take good notes, voice record the class is a big help. Tests are hard, JUST STUDY all will be good!

He is by far the greatest biology professor. He is very funny and gives amazing examples. Very accessible to students outside of class and he always responds to students' questions very clearly. Take him and you will love it. You do need to study but it is also for you own enrichment.

Mr. Maldonado is an awesome Biology instructor! I just took his class during the summer and it was a great learning experience. He teaches you in a way that makes you actually learn your material and enjoy yourself while you do it. We need more professors like him!

Took him for A&P 2 and I loved it! He is an amazing lecturer, he explained material very well, showed lots of visuals, and always had funny jokes and back up stories to tell with every lecture. He is very knowledgeable in this subject, and I learned a lot from this class. I was sad when class was over and I would take it again. Highly recommend!

Prof Maldonado is very smart and knows how to explain the subject. He will relate the subject to real life to make you understand. The tests are based off your notes, take good notes and you will pass!! There is hw online but very easy. One group project for lab. The book was not required since you can get the notes online.

Professor Maldonado is a great lecturer. Without his comedy and personality I don't think I would have made it pass the first week. He tries to keep it simple, and has great stories or comparisons for the material he is teaching about. You will need to work for your grade and be detail orientated. Otherwise you will be left in the dust.

Amazing professor. Clearly knowledgeable when it comes to the topics he covers. He makes the topics easier by relating it to real life. Hilarious, too. He will not go into deep detail about the topics, just what's important. He wants you to understand the concepts rather than memorizing them. Tests are fair game, just study the slides.

I would definitely recommend Mr. Maldonado. This class is tough but he makes it easy to grasp the concept. It is not a memorization class so be ready to actually learn the material instead of getting a letter grade. I studied a few days out of the week and came out with an A. I will take him for all of my sciences if he teaches them.

I think he's one of the best professors, and he very much cared if you were actually learning in class. Most people dropped the class, it is not an easy class but if you actually pay attention you will learn. For the people who dropped out it was just them not showing up everyday and putting in the effort. Just show up and pay attention.

Mr. Maldonado is awesome! Could be a bit silly but that's just his personality. Amazing lectures, biology in general is a hard subject but he'll use everyday life examples as metaphors/similes to try to make the subject easier and more understandable. Try not to miss much class as lectures are very important when it comes to quizzes/tests.

Mr. Maldonado was an awesome professor! His lectures were never boring & he always hated focusing on grades. Hes more of a teacher who wants you to LEARN instead of MEMORIZING. His exams are tough, no reviews so you definitely have to study, study, study! His labs were pretty cool, though it wasnt much & You have to do a presentation.

labs are understandable, make sure to pick a good group from the beginning. lectures are long but he uses lot of examples and tries to make it interesting. should study and read outside of classes. course is about understanding the material and applying it rather than memorizing it.

The best teacher ever ,the best one in their subject, he is the best, of course the tests are kinda tough, you need to take notes ,a lot of notes , the good thing is the way that he explain each chapter , make it really EASY to understand, you only need to put attention and DON'T BE ABSENT , because if you are absent you lost a lot of information.

Best teacher you can choose for your biology class. His lectures are easy to comprehend and straightforward. If you are willing to learn and do the work you need to do as a student, don't think twice and just take his class. The level of difficulty depends on you not on the teacher.

My favorite class last semester was this one. You take a lot of notes in class as he lectures, hell ask you questions as you go along, but he makes class fun! He has a way of teaching that really makes things stick. You have to put in some effort, but youll get a solid understanding of the material in return. Notes are key.

Professor M. is a solid choice for bio. You truly learn through his unusual teaching method. He has a way of breaking down material and ACTUALLY APPLYING them to your future career/interests. This is my first biology class in EPCC, Mr. Maldonado is a great professor. He lectures well and has a way to make class fun. If you are willing to put in your part and effort, this class should be good. Bio 1106 was good too, interesting and fun labs. Online homework every other week. 4 exams and 1 final. Wish I studied more to get that A though.

His class is extremely hard but with paying attention and studying you will do great. He makes his lesson simple to understand also he continues to repeat how this class is a comprehensive rather than a memorization so be ready to study a lot to earn a solid grade.

I toke this class in fall 2019. Professor is funny and nice but he looks for group work if you are individual you will get a B. I mean In this class Group works is easy to copy and share info during exam times. So if you are attending in his class get ready for buddy and get an A.

The BEST professor I could have taken for Biology 1306 and 1106. The class isn't easy, but he makes the material easy to understand and is always available to help explain something you might not have understood. He's funny as well and I liked going to class! If you skip class you definitely won't understand the material.

Professor Maldonado is hands down one of the best professors I have had an definitely one of the best out there. I had him for Bio 1 and Bio 2 and wish I could get him for all my science courses. I am currently taking 1307 and professor Maldonado kept us engaged. He was constantly trying to get his students interested in internships and before this corona-virus shutdown he scheduled field trips to replace class. He is passionate about teaching and care about the students. His labs are fun and he helps the class if we start to struggle.

Mr. Maldonado is an easy-going teacher but he does know alot about his subject and he's great at teaching things in a way that make sense. You do need to pay attention in class because there are no study guides for his exams, but everything in the exam is something he went over. A nice guy and a good teacher, would love to have again!

The best professor I have had this semester online! Provides multiple lecture videos you can watch whenever and has "take-home- exams. Has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable of the subject. Communicates very well and doesn't give you a lot of homework. Super awesome teacher, definitely would take again. Maldonado's interest in the subject is contagious! I'm a little scared of bugs, but this class made me appreciate them more. Your grade is mostly based on a few exams. These are made up of multiple-choice and essay questions. He grades with a research focus - you're can use the internet, but you need to read up and cite your sources.

Professor Maldonado might be one of my favorite instructors so far. He is passionate about the subject which makes it interesting for his students, uses amazing analogies to understand the material better, and he goes out of his way to give some advice on life which is useful and wholesome.

Professor Maldonado is AMAZING! First off, this class is way too easy and you'd have to be extremely lazy to not pass. Because of COVID, his lectures are online and face to face labs are optional. BUT GO TO THE LABS!! They're 100% worth attending! he makes it fun and educational. We've gone on hikes and possibly the zoo next. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Such a great professor super funny and generous!!! You'll really learn from his lectures so even though attendance isn't mandatory you should go every day. I took this class in the summer so we had an exam every Monday, also really study his PowerPoints!!!

He is literally the best! I had his biology class last semester and you can tell he loves to teach! I did his anatomy class online and all you have to worry about are the discussions, online labs (labster), and your exams! Very easy and fun!

If you need to get an A in BIOL 2401 or 2402, you have to register for HIS class. He wants you to get a good grade in his class, and he does everything he can to make sure that happens. He's reasonable and gives all the info you need to succeed. His tests are not difficult and he DOES NOT use lockdown browser b/c he doesn't believe in that nonsense

The best professor you could ever ask for. He's very funny and he makes the lectures really fun. He doesnt read over the slides like most professors do. He explains very well and uses other forms of explaining like showing videos.There isnt assignments in this class you just take notes and do the tests on blackboard. Would 100% take again.

Loved taking him! He is super chill and kind. His lectures are funny but informative. He can be confusing on course work at times but if you ask him he will clear it up for you. Grades rely on exams and are comprehensive. Overall loved his class!
