He does not know how to teach circuit analysis. In class he passes notes and goes over them. One semester not even half his students showed up to class. Take the class when you transfer to a U.C. if you are EE to really understand the course.

very bad teacher

This was a total waste of time and effort. If you take his class you might consider Not buying a book. He makes up his own symbols for everything and when you try to use your book as a refrence you'll be completly LOST!!

this teacher teaches really bad. basically, learn it on your own. his exams are nothing like his lectures. dont bother taking him.

Horrible lectures, lab, and a very confused teacher. He can't teach at all. 98% of class was confused in both the lab and lecture. His tests are very bad and the bad thing is that he is the only one that teaches those classes. take physics at other schools.he is not even funny in class. this guy has no good side at all.

The guy sucks.Rarely teach u anything but confuse u w/his own symbols and formulas.Not organized at all.Didn't even cover everything in the syllabus.Plus nonsensical spanish explaination except to few of the class.He is not comparable to Dr.Berger at all.Avoid ELAC if you need complete series of physics as he is the only teaching Physics 2/4/21/22.

Oh, God, this guy has no idea how to teach and organize the things he writes down. And he is capable to make the simplest things into confusest, isn't he amazing..!! I am still taking his lab class now, what can i do to avoid him, jesus, i am torturing by him every second he appears in my world. I dont know what to do now, i wanted to quit his class, if i do so, my lecture class has to be quit too, but i like my lecture professor. Anyway, if you guys have options to take physics class, he is the priority for exception. <*_____*> how sad....*sign*!!!

He didn't teach anything. After I transfer, I had a difficult time and must quickly pick up the material on my own. That's really bad.

Worst instructor EVER. Take physics 2 at another college/when you transfer. Doesnt know how to explain at all, and doesnt run through ANY examples. He didnt go over about 1/4 of the course material because he was always lost, but still required it for the final. Save yourself the trouble, DONT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HIM!

This professor attempts to teach you physics but honestly fails to do so. He doesn't know how to communicate with the class and doesn't explain the subject well. Besides this, he tends to talk about unimportant things that do not relate to the class which is a waste of time and very annoying. I recommend you look somewhere else to take the class.

Ramirez is the worst teacher. His lectures are confusing because he skims over the material quickly and uses his own notation for formulas. He gives extremely long tests that he does not prepare his students for. He wastes time talking about his life and family.He uses a standard bell curve, when the class is brighter than most which means few As.

He seems to know very little, but he makes his lectures long to create the facade that he's actually teaching us when in actuality, almost everything he "teaches" is obvious or redundant.Tests are actually very easy if you know the material, but everyone FAILS because he is just that horrible of a teacher. Attending his lectures is a big waste of time, and most students don't even bother to show up. He cannot teach and I learned all the material myself from the book. His tests are pretty simple if you understand the material, but his grading method is whack. He's very unorganized and he doesn't really know what he's doing when teaching/grading.

It's meaningless to take his class. He is going to talk about his private life mainly about his wife. We don't care how you wife be, but we do care physics here because this is a Physics class. Besides that, he uses abnormal curves to avoid any As in his class. If you have the chance, avoid him. If not, God bless you. Ramirez, time to get retired.

worst professor at elac. only signed up for his class because it was the only class that was still open. he is very disorganized. i learned more about him than i did about astronomy. he talks about dancing, playing the piane, his wife, and about his past. do not take him. he needs to retire as soon as possible. dont take him no matter what.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger! Ramirez is teaching Physics 1, 2, 3, and 4. Many students will have to endure irrelevant soliloquies about his wife, his grandchildren, his newly discovered calling as a pianist, and whatever other nonsense flits through his mind on any given day. Do yourself a favor and take physics at a different college/university.

I cant believe I got a C+ although I got an A in lab and a B in the midterm....... the final exam just cant be solve because of the 65 ques 4 2 hours. this is the worst worst worst teacher i have ever met, his grading method suxxxx and he is lazy b.... I cant believe he is still teaching... someone should retire him for the sake of the students....

90% of what he talked about wasn't on the test,test question were not very clear &hard to underst,he refused do a review,he wouldn't go over the test,He wouldn't even tell the class what chapter we needed to study 4. you hoped to remember all the chpts you read &maybe it would be on the test. I like him as a person but as a teacher he's the worst.

He is super sweet but his lectures hold no interest and his test seem as if they never clarify what it's actually asking you, this class has no direction or structure. We were lucky enough to receive a syllabus, but unfortunately it was completely wrong. Two weeks into the class more than half of the students dropped his class.

Okay this guy was REALLY boring everthing he said wasn't on the test; in fact, he even tells you that if you was to pass his class you need to read the book when I took him, I passed his two tests but i got a D because i didn't turn in a paper he even said if you show up everyday you'll pass but thats all lias don't take him you won't learn a thing

Worst teacher, ever. You will pass the class but you will not learn anything from. His teaching is inconsistent and MAKES you learn off the book on your own. He really is a nice guy but he shouldn't be teaching

Never use the text book or even talk about the book, yet his test is all about the book which he'll never teach you in class. Always talk about his wife and daughter in class. Who else care about them except himself? I must say his class is bad but he teaches the only Physics 4 in Elac.

Professor Ramirez is by far the most confusing professor I have ever taken. I found myself frustrated and restless in his class. He rarely talks about physics. Most of the lecture would consist of him rambling on about his wife, his high school life and his accomplishments on the piano. I wouldn't recommend taking him.

Oh goodness, where do I even start with this professor? Did not learn a single thing because he rambles about everything BUT physics. He totally screwed me over and gave me a ZERO on my final because he didn't double check who's student he was inputting information for. Almost didn't get to transfer. PLEASE STAY AWAY!

I have to say he not helpful at all. His lectures are long and he does not give you a break. All tests is multiple choice and so far he curves based on the class. If majority of the people didn't get the question right then he would exempt questions. You have to study on your own and his lecture is not helpful. Finals are worth 50%. So study!

Jose Ramirez is the worst physics professor in ELAC. His class is only for the following people: satisfied with a C, addicted to multiple choices exam, mastered everything about physics. His lecture is pointless and messy. The exam is randomly extracted from online. Its impossible to finish 35-40 questions in less than 1 & 12 hour. Pray for curve

Terrible Professor! I read the reviews thinking that the people who wrote the bad reviews just didn't like physics or were lazy... THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!!!!! Does not explain or even teach ANY physics... mostly talks about his life and the books he should write.

If you want a class where the Professor does not teach you the material and you want to learn Physics all by yourself, then this is the perfect Professor for you. If you want to succeed in your studies and transfer to a four-year university as a STEM major, then run far far away from Professor. (I just wish I could give a 0 star review)

Honestly, please avoid taking this class. I've had many bad profs who were confusing & unhelpful making the class difficult to succeed in, but this prof. takes the cake & the bakery. He will torture you with his 3 hour long lecture of non-stop talking and none of it is vital to the test. The book may be your only savior. He is a nice guy though :/

RUN AWAY! Obnoxiously patronizing. Absurdly disorganized--no lesson plan. Lectures have NOTHING to do with the tests. In all the hours spent lecturing, maybe 20 seconds was useful. He says to disregard the textbook but you'll get a better grade if you skip class and study the textbook yourself.

If your a science major don't take him, you wont learn anything. I went in without reading this and his class was terrible. I passed with a B some how and I swear I didn't learn anything. Save yourself the trouble of stressing don't take physics at elac

He goes on huge rants about things that are not relevant to the course. Get the book & read! That will help you out the most rather than showing up to his lectures. On the plus side of things, he grades on a huge curve so that is very helpful. If you can take this class with someone else do it, if you need to though..... beware.

I know we have to self-study and pre-reading before coming to class, but I cannot approach everything. What are the good skills of a professor? Clearly, caring and listening. I am sorry.... The worst professor in Elac ever. His lecture has nothing relates with exam and the book. Get ready to study by yourselves. His lectures are just bragging about himself, making some random noises and talking everything besides the textbook.

I haave him for astronomy 1 and he goes off topic alot. His lessons are so useless. Do not take . he doesnt use a powerpoint to teach. You need to read the book by yourself and he doesnt refer to the book in class .

God awful professor. Computer generates test so he himself doesnt even know what were gonna be tested on. On the final he expects you to basically memorize the whole textbook cause he doesnt tell you what youre gonna be tested on. Showing up to class is pointless, youre better off just reading the book and teaching yourself.

Absolute worst professor Ive ever had. Pretty sure the positive reviews on here are ones he wrote himself. Beginning of the course it was a full class, come finals week there was only 8 of us left.

I have a PhD now. This was long ago. Ramirez was the worst professor I ever had. His lectures were pointless, convoluted, and filled with tangents. He took pride in his magic grading curve nobody understands. I ended up with a B despite scoring 92%+ on tests. ELAC would do better by hiring wacky waving inflatable tube guy to teach his class

He probably spends 80% of the time talking about stuff adjacent to school -- how cool he is, how he had the option to go to any school he wanted but chose a CSU, how rich he is. He's a decent guy but rarely teaches. If you take his class, you will almost surely entirely learn from outside videos more than actually learn anything in the class.
