This guy is a menace. He treats an elective course like a graduate course. He does not realize that people have other classes, jobs, family and lives outside his class. He gives a lot of unessential assignments that involves group work and is very unclear.
The entire class consist of group projects. Students are basically teaching one another, since there is a presentation every class and no lectures. It was the biggest waste of time. He did not give us a single grade or a single paper back, so you never know how you are doing in the class. If you really want to learn, take it with someone else!
Made us do a bunch of powerpoint presentations and randomly picks groups so that you present. Waste of time. Very unclear in regards to grades, so it was pretty much out there. There were no tests or a final, I ended up getting a B+ but i never knew how he calculated my grade.
Absolutely useless professor. Avoid taking at all costs. Does not have time for his students. Took class online and was like he logged on once a week.
This guy hates to teach. Our class was based on videos and discussions amongst the students. Overall not a hard class, just do the quizzes and respond to as many people as possible in the discussion board. There's no midterm or final. Good Luck!
One of the worst professors I have ever had! He asks vague questions to try to stimulate class invovlment, but then will say "Nooo" to about 10+ students who attempt to answer him, wasting time and making students defensive. He did buy us pizza for the last class, but this is what FIU pays him for?? Cause its obviously not for teaching
Nice guy but does not teach the class. Class is based on groups of students presenting different chapters. Absolutely will not get back to you when you email or call him. If you are fine with not knowing how you are doing in the class, it is not a hard class. But do not expect the this guy to respond to you or teach you anything.
For anybody that wants to learn, attendance is must.To the previous comments, if his grading is vague and unclear is because he simply DOES NOT care about grading. He's more interested in making sure you learn so a grade scale is obsolete. His discussions make u think outside the box. For anybody that wants an interesting productive class take him.
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR, NO MIDTERM , FINAL IS A GROUP PROJECT. MAKES YOU THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX AND ALL CLASSES ARE GROUP DISCUSSIONS OR GUEST SPEAKERS TALKING ABOUT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. IF YOU ARE BUSINESS MINDED WILL RECOMEND
Take him if you're interested in entrepreneurship, otherwise stay far away! The final project will take you 30+ hours to complete between the group. No exams. Quizzes are short but difficult to understand. Very nice though. But the workload is too much for those who take it as an elective. Interview two entrepreneurs. No feedback on current grade.
Excellent professor, you will actually feel like a Business student after taking a course with him. Lot's of work, but it will change your perception on alot of things for the better. You will have to earn your A. Highly recommend a professor of this caliber to you at least one time during your time in college. I took him twice. A's both times.
Beware! He seems like a nice guy, but he will make your life hell. expects you to work beyond any other class. no matter what. and then he dares comment about work life experience. yeah right.
first and formost ffffffff pepe and the asinine tasks he ask you to do in your spare time. this was an elective for me and it was more difficult then my business cal class. i advise anyone that thinks about taking this class not. barely teaches all he does is these annoying hand gestures when he points to you.
Dr. Rocha is fantastic!!!His class is demanding but your ARE in business school!!! His assignments are very interesting and his final project changes your whole perspective about what CSR is all about!!! Highly recommended!!! Loved his class!!!
This professor should change careers. The work is overwhelming, so you cannot learn anything. The professor does not follow his own guidelines and his grading is very poor. He forgets to grade assignments that affect your grade and is impossible to communicate with him to change anything. If you want to waste time and money take him!!!
Took him online. This professor gives WAY too much work. 4 thigs are due the first week of class, 20 weekly quizzes (including the appendix!), disscusions board 3 times/ week, team projects. The work is so much that it's all you concentrate on, you really don't learn anything. AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Very useful textbooks, simulation, and class materials for my job !!
Very good approach to the class instead of main focus on the textbook he incorporates text and cases with what is going on presently in the world and that is important
I enjoyed the class and I learned a lot about current topics in Business and Society. Very focused on Corporate Social Responsibility and community service.
I loved the hands-on approach of this class and how to stay on top relevant issues of teams.
Very helpful professor. He helped me to take my business plan with investors. Thank You!
Great professor, very enthusiastic and he cares about us and our professional careers!! He brings his consulting experience into class .. a bonus added.
Great class, I loved it, too much to do but very practical stuff, I learned a lot !!
Worse. Professor. Ever. How is this guy even teaching? Too much work, too much rhetoric, a total waste of time. You're so focused on doing his 45 weekly assignments that you don't learn a thing. Avoid
This class has changed the way I see business and corporate social responsibility. Yes, too much work but what do you expect? We are in one of the top business schools in the country !! Keep the good work Prof. Rocha !!
My fieldwork project the best! An eye opening experience. Dr. Rocha keep your motivation to teach and inspire others. You have changed the way I see business and society.
Very different compared to previous classes, but I liked overall. I liked the class discussions the most.
Terrible professor, I don't even understand why he is teaching (he doesn't). He's a great person and will help you if you ever need it, but that's not why professors should be hired. Extremely heavy accent and sometimes I come to class not sure if he even knows what course this is. Avoid him if you can!
AMAZING professor! seriously changed my mind set. He talks a lot about his own experience which is great and connects with you 101. The class is pretty simple, just have to do online quizzes and discussions every week. No midterm or final :)
Great Class! Even better teacher! I learned a lot!
Most important thing is that Dr. Rocha cared about us learning, as opposed to just simply passing. I am grateful for that.
I liked all class activities in teams and field trip to Tiger Direct event. Thank you!!! You rock!!!
I learned many things I didn't know about business and technology and the class was very interactive. He keeps you engaged all the time. Good job. Thank you.
I really enjoyed the class and appreciated all of the hands on assignments, specially the volunteer work.
GREAT blackboard organization!! and useful discussions in class. Very engaging professor, my first class that I do not sleep over!! :)
Keep doing the good work sir, we love you!!
Your teaching style is very good, maybe scale back a little on the amount of work. Gracias !!!
This is the first professor in my entire FIU classes that called me when I had a car accident. Great human being!!!
At first I thought I would not like this course because it was a format that I was not used to. It turned out to be very beneficial with the readings and class discussions. I enjoyed the experience.
This is an awesome lecturer. A lot of reading but very helpful information. He brings all the reading together in such an amazing way. One of the best lecturers I ever had a the Masters degree level
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! DO NOT take him for any class. His workload is beyond ridiculous, has a horrible accent, and is not clear when giving instructions. Doesn't teach anything, only shows us motivational videos and makes us answer the same questions every time. I don't understand how he has such good ratings, IMPOSSIBLE! He is the worst professor!
You rock Pepe !
One of my top 3 Teachers at FIU. Great job Dr. Rocha !
One of my hardest but most rewarding classes I have ever taken. I got into the habit of reading, writing, and stay current on business news and events. Thank you!
Very motivated professor. Cares a lot about us learning and being successful. Too much readings at some time but interesting books and readings. Dr. Rocha: Keep your passion for teaching!!
This is my last class for graduation and in my four years in FIU, Professor Rocha is a professor that actually cares about the student and sets an example. His expectations are high.
Amazing Course !! Eye opener and Dr. Rocha is very passionate about CSR and that's very refreshing to see.
Professor Rocha teaching method stands apart from any other I have ever experienced. He actively engages students in class !
When you attend the first class of the semester, he seems intimidating and strict but he is the total opposite! He is a great learning facilitator! Seems like a a lot of work but it is fairly easy and all work he assigns has meaning and is useful. He is a great teacher, definitely recommend!Cares about his students, even got us pizza.
The class discussions were more important than anything else !! Dr. Rocha is very passionate about his teaching and cares a lot about us. A must have professor in FIU and CSR !!
No Midterm and Final Exam. Weekly Quizzes open book-open notes. Lots of homework but doable. The best: Professor Rocha's lectures! Too short the summer to have such a great professor!
The three most critical issues of Dr. Rocha: inspiring, motivating, and engaging. Thank you so much for all the advice.
Professor Rocha is a good person and sees a lot of potential in people even when we don't other than that, that's it
If you are serious about starting your own business take Rocha class ! I did !
One of the most caring and inspirational professors I have ever had. Dr. Rocha really cares for his students.
This is more of an e-blended course where everything is online and you must answer very repetitive questions. The lectures do not match the work online. No tests just weekly online quiz's. WSJ was never used, just had to get it for the grade as he gets notified. Very easy class but with tedious work
The first true professor I've ever had and I learned a lot for than any other class I've taken.
I learned a lot which I am applying in my new job !! although you drove us crazy with some assignments.
Very structured class. It kept me focused with so many discussions in class. Good Job Pepe !!
If you want to have a real college experience related to business take Dr. Rocha. You work a lot but you learn a lot! First class I never slept in any class !! ;)
Thank you for pushing me, I learned a great deal of what am I capable of if I push myself. Good work Prof. Rocha.
I don't understand how Prof. Rocha is getting scores of 4. The lectures are wasted time; you buy books that are never used (5 total), assigns way too much work (that's irrelevant). Amount of time needed to devote to this class (WSJ, Websites, Powerpoints, Quizzes, the textbook, Discussion Board postings...) it's a full semester load in one class.
This is what the college experience is all about. If every teacher was like Dr. Rocha the world would be a much better place. His enthusiasm is contagious and his desire to change the hearts and minds of his students for the better is incredible! Sure its a lot of work and you have to do service hours for a GOOD CAUSE but it was all worth it!
If you want an overload of busy work, this is your class. Amount of time needed to devote to this class (7 WSJ, 4 Virtual Business App Review, 13 Quizzes, 2 textbooks, 8 HBR Discussion Board postings, and 4 Group Projects) it's a full semester load in one class. Good luck!
Great Professor, love his teaching methods !! Take it !!
My best class so far. Prof. Rocha makes you work for it but I learned things I didn't know before
He is very inspirational and knowledgeable. Even though the class was very demanding, it was not hard. You need to read A LOT, write A LOT, calculate A LOT, think A LOT, but hey, that is why we are paying for, right? If you want to learn, register to his class. No weekends off, so be ready to be studying and reading every single day. A plus Profeso
Outstanding professor. Very passionate and knowledgeable on the topic. This professor is IVY league material. You will have a lot of work during the semester, but the intangibles you're going to get out of this class will keep on paying off well til after your career. At first it will be intimidating, push through and get ready to learn.
I took Prof Rocha's class online and it was great. Although he assigns a lot of work, if you do it all you will pass. He gives a ton of extra credit at the end of the semester, and he's really good with replying to emails. I would take him again!
GREAT teacher. Would take again.
He is amazing! Super inspirational and you learn a lot in his class!
He's one of the nicest people I've met, professor or otherwise. He genuinely cares about the students and really tries his hardest to get students to care about their future and to do something that they love. He gives manageable amounts of homework and there were no tests.
The amount of work this guy gives you is absurd. Please Avoid.
LOTS LOTS LOTS OF WORK. I MEAN IT. ++++++L-------O-------T-------S------OF--------W-------O------R-------K----- many student get scared and drop it. took it online, read two books, quizzes on chapters, 4 personal 6-10 pp papers, 4 team papers, 8 essays 1-2 page, 8 short paragraphs about WSJ article. work is not that hard , timeconsuming tho
Be ready for a 55 pages long syllabus that he will use against you if you fail with any point stated there. There's a LOT of work and writing to do. Since day 1 READ THE SYLLABUS READ THE SYLLABUS and DO NOT STOP READING THE SYLLABUS if you follow everything and do not procrastinate you will get a decent grade. PD. 97-100 is A+ 95-96 is A-
Does not release your real time grades, until the last day of class. Loads of papers, and expects high caliber results.
55 page syllabus, very confusing and nonsense. I regret taking this class. About 10 assignments every week about analyzing articles. And the instructions are all the same: summarize it, find 3 critical issues, 3 lessons learned, 3 best practices, relate the reading to the topics in class. The tasks for the class are easy. But they are a lot.
The reviews below are messed up and fake. This professor is horrible. 55 page syllabus and many reports/assignemnts/discussions/ + readings on a WEEKLY BASIS. He breaks down due dates on assignemnts to have 2 due dates per week so you have to be on top of it. He expects you to write 8 page reports on a weekly basis. Redundant material
16wk material crammed into 6wks - redic! avoid this class. lots of case, confusing instructions - silly me seeing a 55pg syllabus and didnt drop this class - great material though -- but be prepared to read a lot, alot, alot!!!! its just too much for this class - forget it!
Prof Rocha is by far the nicest professor I've ever met. There is tons of work expected for the class and he expects high caliber submissions. He is very knowledgeable and extremely caring and wants to see all students succeed in life. He is always open to get personal and help you get further in life. Plan to keep him in my network for years
Lots of stupid busy work, which can be super annoying. Work is doable. The main problem with this class is the syllabus. The due dates are not clear and everything in the class is all over the place. Don't take this class on a 6 week term as there are many stupid assignments due every week. There are three 5 pages papers due and 3 team assignments.
55 page syllabus and 12 page calendar. Ridiculous amount of busy work: discussions / power points / project / quizzes every WEEK! He is not a hard grader but this class does take up a lot of time. Books are not needed at all, quizzes are based on one book and is super easy. Other assignments you can find the book for free online.
Can't really speak on him as a teacher because it was an online course but I can say that he gave an exorbitant amount of busy work for an "intro" course.
Terribly explained class. You are basically throw into it having no idea what to do or how to continue throughout the semester so you better figure it out quick. Quizzes every week, large assignments biweekly and the weeks in between have smaller assignments. Monthly group projects that are also poorly explained. Did I mention the 55 page syllabus?
Terrible class. To begin with, the syllabus is 56 pages long. No joke. It's almost impossible to figure out what is due and when. The assignments are extremely repetitive and you get random grades without any feedback. I seriously do not think he even looks at your paper before grading. This professor should not be teaching students.
The only good thing about this professor is the extra credit work he offers. However, this course makes no sense and he doesn't exactly do a good job of explaining what he expects from you. The syllabus, master schedule and online assignments are confusing. If you decide to take his class, be prepared to decipher a 55 page syllabus. Be cautious...
I took this class over the summer and the amount of work was exorbitant. The 56 page syllabus should have been a clue. For a six week course to have 2 weekly articles to summarize with additional comments to classmates papers expected for grading , 2 quizes a week, read two textbooks, 3 10 page individual papers and 3 group projects is insane.
I have taken this professor twice, the second time i didn't have an option. I do not recommend him as his syllabus is way too long and confusing and he gives lots of homework and papers to write with redundant questions to answer. You can get an A for this class but you have to do lots of work.
Probably one of the worst professors at FIU. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. He replies your emails with quotes from the syllabus (which is 52 pages). No type of compassion for students. Worse professor ever!!!! Intro to business is supposed to be an easy class yet he made it impossible.
Worse professor I have ever had! Has a complicated 52 page syllabus which is ridiculous. Won't answer questions, refers you to syllabus, even copy & pastes from the syllabus as feedback for your grade. Weekly quiz on the textbook. The course revolves on this stupid book Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds. Group projects are torture!
He's a great professor. I took GEB 4110 with him. Yes he does have a 52 page syllabus but don't let that stop you from taking his class. There are weekly quizes on the chapter that are fairly easy. Every other week their is a discussion post, and then a WS journal post. He is reachable.
Currently taking this class in Summer A and has condensed 16 weeks of material into 6 weeks. He expects "high caliber" work but will give you an extremely high volume of readings, writings, group projects with unreasonable due dates. He responds promptly to messages but is very vague and will often just refer you to his 59 pg syllabus. AVOID!!
Got an A in his class, yes there is a lot of work to do, but he cares about his students and makes them work for it. The people that gave him bad reviews did not do all the work, you do need to do every single thing on the Syllabus and you will for sure get an A, plus he gives like 6 extra credit opportunities. You will learn in his class.
Honesty I took Professor Jose 2 times. I got an A in both classes. Don't get excited just yet ,I had to work my butt off for those A's. Every week we had a group project and 3 discussions due every week on top of that 2 quizzes due every week. No final or midterm but if you are lazy this class isn't for you! He offers tons of extra credit though.
Extremely tough grader. Lots of homework. Online discussions are between 8-10 pages every week plus quizzes and group assignments every week. Lectures have nothing to do with the course. Have two juggle between 2 textbooks every week. DO NOT TAKE!
Extremely tough grader. Lots of homework. Online discussions are between 8-10 pages every week plus quizzes and group assignments every week. Lectures have nothing to do with the course. Have to juggle between 2 textbooks every week. His syllabus is a disaster and not easy to follow. DO NOT TAKE!
Professor Rocha is one of the best professors at F.I.U. He is tough and gives great amounts of work, but you will learn immensely. This man cares and goes above and beyond to help any student earn the best grades.. What I learned from this man will help me in my professional career moving forward. I have much respect for this man.
This professor gives SO MUCH WORK. There were 3-5 assignments due per week. Discussions, 8-10 page business apps papers, group article analysis papers, and quizzes. No matter how much effort is put in, the highest grade the professor gives is an 80. The syllabus is unreadable and assignment directions are extremely complicated. Worst class ever!
Just dont take him. The amount of work is ridiculous and he is such a tough grader. I kid you not, the workload is totaled to about 3-4 assignments a week but the amount of work you must put into each assignment is the equivalent of 6-8 assignments. Ridiculous. Very kind guy but extremely tough Professor.
He is expected the students to run before teach/train them how to walk first. Unrealistic homework load, terrible teach methods. Forcefully push students to believe something he believes rather than reality. He told the class there's no point to be a lawyer because all will be replaced by AI. FALSE! You are talking about changing the JURY SYSTEM
I tried to give this class a chance but ended up dropping. The syllabus is unreadable, and the busy work is as bad as the other reviews make it seem. He's a nice person though. But his class will take up all of your time.
Do yourself a favor and do not ever take classes with this professor. The amount of work he gives is inconceivable (2-4/week), not to mention the fact that he is an extremely tough grader on top of that. He even assigns multiple LENGTHY assignments to turn in on finals week, as if we didn't have other classes to worry about and study for!
He gives like 10 assignements due in one week. He doesn't teach anything in the quizzes in classes
Do not take his class. He gives so many lengthy assignments to which any human being taking more than two classes can keep up with and of top of that he is an extremely tough graded. DO NOT take his class.
People complain about him but I swear he is one of the best Prof. At FIU. Throughout my careers there have been only 5 classes which I have really learned and his class has been the class I have learned the most. Yes it's a lot of work but if you do it and follow directions you'll be fine and he gives a lot of extra credit. Best!
He's truly a great professor. This is the class where I've felt I learned. If you want to improve your excel skills, take him! You will be amaze will all the models you will learned.
not bad but not good either. pretty decent class, there was a lot more group papers than i thought. this class was definitely a nuisance but its stats... he wouldnt be my first choice but it wouldnt completely suck to have him either.
Professor Rocha is the worst professor Ive had at FIU. There are weekly group projects and long homework assignments. If you contact him he is not helpful at all. His instructions for assignments are not clear and the 30-page syllabus is full of links and impossible to understand. Do not take this professor!!!
This is the kind of professor that makes you consider dropping out. Assigns gross amounts of homework, discussion posts (which end up being several pages long), and group projects WEEKLY. Instructions for assignments are very vague and grades very harshly. Takes forever to grade, isn't very helpful, expects too much. Save yourself, don't take him.
Honestly this class was probably the worst Ive ever taken in all my time at FIU. Get ready to teach your self through my labs, experience frustrating weekly group projects, and posting pages for a discussion post which is also due weekly. The workload is insane and not worth it if you can take any other professor go ahead and do so.
This is the worst class and Professor I have taken in my entire Master's Program. You will learn absolutely nothing from his class, and I am pretty sure he uses the exact same lesson plan for every single class. His grading is random and arbitrary and doesn't even follow the rubric, and he provides feedback except for a copy and paste blurb.
Jose Rocha hosts one of the most pathetic 'classes' I've ever taken, he's the kind of teacher that makes you feel as though college is scamming you out of money. He doesn't have a lesson plan, and doesn't even attempt to teach the things you'll be quizzed on. He's a doddering old fool who just wants a classroom to listen to his 'sage' advice.
Professor Rocha is a great professor. Dont be fooled by all of these negative comments. Yes his class is VERY heavy on assignments, however he is INCREDIBLY nice and understanding. He does care for his students and gives an indefinite amount of extra credit. I've taken him twice and both times I ended with an A.
Jose Rocha is a joke of a 'professor.' He assigns an absolutely disgusting amount of homework, there is no lesson plan, his syllabus is formatted in such a way that it is impossible to understand. His grading criteria is unclear, and you will have no idea how you are doing in the class because he takes weeks to grade anything. AVOID at all costs.
This professor does NOT care for your time. You will have more busy work in this class than all of your others COMBINED. You won't learn anything, there is no structure, the material barely relates to the course. Absolutely awful experience. I'm a month into the course and not a single assignment has been graded yet, so I have no idea how I'm doing
Over a month into this course, if you can even call it that, and 'professor' Rocha has not graded a single one of the numerous assignments he's given us. Nobody in the class has any indication of how we are doing. This professor should NOT be assigning lengthy assignments every week if he doesn't have the time to grade anything. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Professor Rocha is a great professor. I enjoyed the virtual class more than anything, this was my favorite class this summer and I took 5. He makes you work hard so you EARN your grade. Provides great feedback and stays in touch with students 100% if needed. His class is KEY to all students I believe, Management and Organization is everything.
Very unclear when it comes to assignments, difficult to reach for questions, condescending, unclear grading criteria, copy and pastes the same feedback to every student in the class.
Professor Rocha made this class interesting to be apart of, even through zoom. He expects students to EARN their grade. The class is a lot of work but he provides great feedback to help you do better on your assignments. He also allows a few extra credit assignments. Professor Rocha also is quick to respond to any messages you send.
The way he structures assignments is unorganized. Isnt clear with expectations. A lot of work.
A fairly disorganized teacher, does not give a clear explanation and tends to be very confused, puts up a lot of meaningless homework, takes a long time to evaluate homework. The only good thing is that it gives enough extra credits. Stay away from this professor...
Professor Rocha makes the class more complicated then what it really is. He does not provide clear details and is a very tough grader. He is a very nice professor but his assignment details are overwhelming. His class is also filled with assignments. Quizzes every week and long discussion boards due weekly. His class will easily overwhelm anyone.
Professor assigns weekly 5-6 page reports to be written, alternating between a group report or an individual report every week. He provides little to no feedback, and is incredibly slow with posting grades. Reports do not correlate to learning content, and he provides no lectures. Assignments don't correlate to what we SHOULD be learning.
One of the worst professors ive ever taken at FIU. He's one of those professors that you HAVE to take if you're in the College of Business especially. He's absolutely terrible. Sucks at replying to emails, he's always putting everything in caps like trying to scream or something? Its super weird. Group Projects every week with different groups.
Absolutely worst professor in my 20 years of academics. Horrible grading scale, no teaching whatsoever, just a ton of work with no explanation. If you want to pass statistics I recommend going through any professor but him.
STAY AWAY! You need at least 5 hours a day to keep up with all his childish assignments. He assigns tons of papers to write, not even relevant to the course. Is this Business Statistics or a communication class? He expects you to write at least 3 papers per week, no less than a 1000 words each. He doesn't respond to emails either. DISORGANIZED!!!
What a disappointment. This class is a disaster. No clear grading criteria. You will never know what is extra credit and what is a required assignment. No tests, but I would have preferred studying for a test than spending 20 hours a week writing nonsense papers. This is so time consuming and for what? We're not learning anything, professor!
Worst professor I've ever had. Extremely unclear in what he wants. Ridiculous amounts of work, that is mostly uninspired and boring. Difficult to get in contact with. Picky grader. Overall, awful professor, would not recommend to anyone, especially for an online class.
this class is ridiculous. Be aware. you won't have time for your other classes
At first I was not feeling this professor. I noticed that I had to work very hard to pass this class, and I did. But that was for my benefit and it wasnt the worst thing in the world. Professor Rocha cares about his student very much and teaches well. He became one of my favorite professors. This class was time consuming, but totally doable.
The class is not similar to the quizzes. The class is a discussion of current events, while the quizzes and tests are exactly like the book. There was no relation between the class and book. Not even a single ppt, nothing. He is a really nice person, just not really focused in the class syllabus. Plus, to much busy work.
He is such a nice guy, but he is literally so chaotic with his lectures, and is always on a tangent. Aside from that, his class is really easy. There's a weekly quiz, discussions, papers, and group project, but you can do okay on them and pass. I prob would've gotten a B, but he gives so much extra credit that I ended with an 122%
If you find out that Jose Rocha will be your professor for any class you take, do not take it. He gives an extreme amount of work, is very inconsiderate of your time as a student, and will not budge for absolutely anything. He requests an insane amount of work, 1000-2000 words per homework assignment. The worst teacher I have ever had studying.
This class will not be easy, the amount of work he gives plus the word count he assigns is super time consuming. This class will be very frustrating but its doable if you dont procrastinate. Syllabus is kinda messy ,he doesnt offer extensions but he does offer extra credit. I did learn alot, but the class was alot harder than it should have been
Assignments had nothing to do with what the class is about!!!!!He gave WAYYY to much work to HIGHSCHOOLERS!!!!!!!!!!! >:(
Just avoid this class. Nobody wants to write 2000 word essays WEEKLY. On top of it, Harvard review short essays, do weekly quizzes, as well as take his exams. Teacher isnt hard, just gives too much homework. Once you feel youre done for the week, he throws another paper at you plus more. I do online because I work, so its time consuming with him
The syllabus is a mess & it is not ADA compliant. The amount of work that is demanded is inconsiderate given that most students are full-time and probably work. The instructions for the assignments were very confusing. Yet, the professor is a fair grader & as long as you complete the assignments u will be fine. Only recommend it if it's mandatory.
Do not take his class. You will regret it. I am a straight A student and I do not recommend. He will assign 1200 words plus 18 paragraphs plus 6 other assignments in one week and expect you to turn in everything on time, not one min late. He does not accept late work EVER not even one minute late. Even if its a 6 week condensed course.
The amount of work this professor assigns is inconsiderate, I struggled to keep up with my other classes. Get ready to write, he expects you to write minimum 1200 word essays as well as participate in discussions. I forgot I was pursuing a degree in finance with all this writing, this felt more like journalism. Avoid this class unless required.
This class is an absolute mess. Unless you enjoy spending large amounts of time trying to figure out how to do your assignments properly, do yourself a favor and stay away. This opinion was held by the majority, if not the entirety of the class.
DO NOT TAKE! This course has a lot of 1200+ word papers to write, discussions, group projects & busy work. This class was not well organized and I felt that I did not learn anything about management and organization. His feedback was never helpful as it was copy & pasted to the class. He is also very rude with his feedback.
He is the worst Professor I have ever had. Get ready to write your tail off. Everything is busy work. You are not going to learn. Prepare to teach yourself. Goodluck Fam
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! Professor Rocha discussions are research papers not discussions, he requires 1200-2300 words. He requires 2 mandatory White Paper Reports with a min of 2,000 words. You will be writing LOTS of papers. Work is EXCESSIVE for an elective on Managing Virtual Team. This is more like a writing class!
This class was a waste of time. Dr. Rocha is not prepared to lecture and he uses old sources that are not even relevant to the subject. He is disrespectful and gives bad grades. AVOID him if you can.
He should be teaching high-schoolers... just busy work. You will not learn anything. This class has more papers than ENC101. His group projects (yes plural!) are non-sense. He is by far the worst professor at FIU ! Nothing was relevant in this class as all sources were outdated!
gives a lot of assignments but makes them 10x harder than what they should be by making them extremely long for everything
Pain in the head. Just avoid him and run away as far as you ca
I took this class in summer 2024. Assignment instructions long and contained unnecessary information, making it difficult to know what to do. Workload is insane, late assignments are not accepted. You will participate in class. Bad answering emails. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Even though, I will never recommend this professor.
This class was a mixed bag. While the professor is friendly, his teaching style can be chaotic. Lots of writing assignments, but the workload is manageable with good time management. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for organizing my notes and preparing for exams.
Took this professor in Summer A. He has good lectures and advice...but the assignments and the amount of detail in the instructions are overwhelming. Everyone submits their group presentations but only two groups present in class, and are chosen randomly based on the Lotto. Didn't do a couple of assignments in the beginning but passed with 100%+
