Great proffesor!!!i took him for math 150 and he is the best. he gives pre test to practice on and tries to save the student as much money possible.

He uses the textbook only for homework. Explains things very well although he has an accent, you can pretty much understand him. He never repeats any tests or quizzes. He teaches something new everyday! I was really awesome.

Great Professor. His class is interesting, and you always learn something new his funny. Makes math supper easy to understand. Study for your test and you will do great, he offers tutoring and goes over any problems you have. If you do not pass his class, it your own Fault! Took him for all my math classes. Dr. Villalobos is a great professor. He is very helpful and literally gives you all the tools needed to pass the class. He gives practice test that are extremely helpful and also post class notes online. DONT BE ABSENT! He does not tolerate complainers. He is more than helpful but dont expect him to pass you just because you show up.

I failed math 60 prior to taking him. He makes math so easy, & makes you think "how did I not get this before"He wants to help you. He's the best teacher EVER! Math is my worst subject failed throughout HS & 1st semester went to his class it was as if I was a genius. Explains it very well. TAKE HIM!!!!!! Class is mandatory dont miss a day!

Sincerely one of my favorite professors! He maps everything out for you. He gives great lectures that make sense. Has practice exams and goes over the answers to prep for the exam. By far one of the best math professors at ECC-CC. No book. Easy class. Just go to class, take notes, do the work and practice the problems. Kind of hard to understand him at time because of his heavy accent. but he answers all questions.

Previously, I hadn't taken a math class in 14 years and I was really scared. Professor Villalobos made everything extremely easy to understand and he was always available to assist if I had any questions.

Attend class & take good notes! Also STAY on top of the homework and go to the lab for tutoring each week because it really makes a difference! If you can find a good study buddy. If you want to pass each exam, do the pretest, and if i were you just keep redoing it to become familiar with the questions. He gives you the formulas, just study!

Professor Villalobos is an excellent teacher; he knows the material well and teaches it in a way that is easy to learn. The class gives mock exams and he reviews mock exam questions before the actual exams. His sense of humor is very sarcastic but he really is a nice guy and is willing to help if you need it.

At first, the concept was hard to grasp. But he was always willing to stay after class to explain in more details. This was a saturday class, therefore only two and a halve hours of lecture is given. He offers office hours which is great if you are stuck with the HW. He gives mock exams which are exactly the same as the actual exam. studyeasy A!

He is very approachable and funny. HIs homework are to prepare you for his exams. The practice exams also reflect the actual exams. He kind of works at a fast pace but the material is easily understood. If your not so strong in math, he is good for you.

Honestly he's an awesome teacher he is in class telling jokes, and his lectures are pretty easy to understand. he gives the class short cuts to get answers and tips. also if you need help you can go to his office hours and he'll gladly help you. overall very good and cool teacher and chill to talk to.

Great professor. I took his class online in CCC and it was very good. However, you have to invest your time, do homework and quizzes. Professor Villalobos is always ready to help his student. I can definitely recommend you to take him if you want a good grade.

Dr. V is a great teacher, if you ask him for help he will help you, but you have to do a lot of reading and studying. His lectures are always fun, but you need to pay attention and make sure you put in the work outside of class to pass He gives you a formula cheat sheet to use during tests, but you have to know how to do the problems to understand.

Seriously I cannot express how helpful Villalobos is! I've taken him more than once and every time I pass. The book is made by him, so you're not paying a lot. His lectures are very clear, homework/quizzes/exams are a piece of cake!

One of the best professors I've taken for math he's very intelligent. Has a "PH.D." In mathematics, when taking his classes you'll buy a math book he created that's only like 36$. So that's a plus not having to buy an expensive book that you'll probably use just once.

Fast paste, easy, will need tutoring if you feel like your not doing well. test are easy and if you do the homework the test will be easy.

Took him summer 2015. This class always fills up, quick! Stats isn't an easy class but it's also not that hard either. Dr. Villalobos takes the time when lecturing, to explain the material so any newborn will understand! He is very funny, down-to-earth, and a kinda 'know it all' world traveler! You get what you put in!

Dr. Jose V. is a great instructor!!! I took him this summer & I have met very few instructors who are difficult but, have office hours. The first exam I bombed! But I refused to fail. I studied, asked questions, taught myself w/Professor Leonardo's videos. All in all he is a great instructor & I would take him again!!!

Doesn't always explain things through sometimes, but he gives u study guides to help. A bit intimidating, but he does help if you ask him. His motivational speeches can be downers but they can be funny. I'm not that great at math and I got a B in his class during a summer session. Watch videos and know how to us the calculator and u should b fine.

If youre scared of taking STATS or any math class like me, this is the prof for you! He is the funniest teacher but he makes stats extremely easy with all the study guides he provides. Im not good at math but I managed to get A's on all my exams! He can move on a fast pace sometimes but if you ask him to clarify, he will. Hes a great teacher!

I was scared to take stats again because I didn't do well in high school but Dr. V is great. As long as you show up and pay attention in class you'll do fine, he makes learning the material fun and much easier. I took his hybrid class. One week to do your homework assignment, he even accepts them late sometimes. 3 tests, 2 projects, and the final.

Amazing! Failed math 73 twice before taking it with him and passing with an A. I took math 150 with him during the summer before transferring and received an A. Can be an easy A because his study guides are extremely helpful, it doesn't mean you don't have to put in effort. Don't be lazy!! I would take him again if I could. Ask him for help:)

He is practical: does not care much about explaining "concepts" (i.e. deriving formulae) but focuses on problem solving. Therefore, good for engineering/science students, but probably not for math majors. "The easiest course/test ever" is his motto, and he is a man of his word. Knock out three midterms with 96+, you don't have to take the final.

Dr. Villalobos is so awesome. I have math phobia but he makes things clear. The key is not to be afraid to ask questions. If you don't ask then he cannot read your mind. If you do ask he'll go above and beyond to make things clear. If you are not the best at math and need a teacher that actually want to help you succeed I highly recommend him!

I personally hate math, but Professor Villalobos made it easier to understand. I took his class in summer 2016 and it was a fast paste but I got thru it and passed. his lectures are simply, I don't recommend missing class cuhs you will be lost when u come back. definitely recommended!

Awesome professor. I purposely waited to take him after previously taken Math73. He is down to earth and really wants to make sure that you understand the concepts. Come to class, do your homework, study for tests, and participate in the lectures. I thought I was not good at math until Professor Villalobos. Awesome!

Professor V. is clear with explanation the subject, straight forward with assignments that he gives. You won't get any surprises, which is especially valuable for test day. Just do the homework and practice tests and you will be ready to get an A at exams.

Before taking this Math73, I had taken it twice with other professors, and nobody teaches like Dr Villalobos. He Is the best, he makes you understand the material and if you have ANY questions he is always more than happy to answer. He won't let anybody fall behind. He works with you if you're terrible at math. Will be taking math150 with him.

Dr. Villalobos is an outstanding math professor with a wonderful sense of humor. Hes very passionate about what he does and who inspire that same passion in his students like myself. For example, when it comes to math, I work at a slow pace; however, Dr. Villalobos was always approachable and accessible with a great attitude toward his class.

Makes statistics very easy to understand. I strongly recommend taking a hybrid class with him. The class met once a week for two hours. All quizzes are online. He gives practice problems before the exam and the exam has very similar (almost identical) problems.

SERIOUSLY HANDS DOWN THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER. I took Math 150 with him, after taking Math 73 last semester. And let me tell you, he teaches like no other. He's also really lenient with the grading. Obviously, don't expect to pass the class doing nothing. But you will learn something here, very understanding and has a sense of humour.

Dr.V is hilarious and he jokes a lot however, this class you have to put in the work to pass. I went to tutoring before class and every Fridays in the morning and it helps a lot ! make sure to do ALL of the extra credit available and do ALL the homework because it will help you a lot. When he see that you are trying he will help you as well !

I just want to start out by saying math has never been a strong subject of mine, I joined this class with fear of not being ready although the material was second hand, Dr. V's study sessions/ study videos were very helpful and Tutoring in the Student Success Center with Carlos was a great help to passing the class!

Mr. Villalobos is hand down the best Math professor I ever had at Compton college. Textbook is not needed for his class only his workbook for homework. quizzes are online and you have 2 to 3 attempts and the higher score is kept. I took his class in the summer two day a week. He is best math professor hands down. Unlike other professors, he actually puts the effort to teach his students. Personally, Math is my weakest subject. Therefore it takes time for me to process the material. However, this professor makes it easier for students like me to learn by giving study guides that are almost identical to the exams.

Professor Villalobos is an excellent mathematics professor who truly cares about the success of his students. I took his Statistics class and although math is not one of my subjects, he really helped me narrow it down to the point where I successfully passed. Though Statistics is really hard, he makes every effort to ensure we understand. HW can be turned in after tests, which helps w/studying. Quizzes & participation problems online. ExCredit!

great instructor, took his online course for Math 150. Dr Villalobos , lectures through you tube videos . Chapters are easy to understand as he does explain everything thoroughly. No text required, only workbook. test are self explanatory if you do the homework and understand the material.

I was a bit apprehensive about taking this class, but I am truly grateful I did. Dr. Villabolos works with you as long as you participate and show some effort. Lectures are on YouTube which I appreciated because it made it very easy to follow along. He reviews exams before the test which was a huge help! You won't regret taking him!

I'm so glad he recorded his lectures beforehand, it made learning the material that much easier. He also gives a study guide for each exam.

Although participation is not mandatory, it is best to not miss. Otherwise, you will find yourself in a lot of trouble for the tests. Professor V. was amazing!! He uses lots of everyday life examples so you can understand the terms and use the proper formulas.

He's a good choice but a bit detached from his students. Though he tries his best to help if you ask questions during lectures. There's weekly homework and participation that he checks for completion and 10 quizzes (3 attempts) and 3 exams where the average can replace the final of your grade on the final will replace the lowest exam score.

Prof V. Is by far the best professor I have had. I was super nervous to take Math 150 (statistics) especially being out of school 20+ years. I jumped in with no refreshers and 16 weeks later I walked away with an A!! I love that his lectures are recorded on You tube to refer back to if needed especially when I was stuck on a problem. Def Recommend

I really liked Dr. V. He never made you feel like a question was too dumb (even if some where). It was a hybrid class so we had to see the lectures before class and then he would go over it. You should be fine as long as you do the homework and staying on top of things, he is flexible but communicate with him. Participate, ask questions, dont miss.

Dr. Villalobos is an exceptional math professor. His book, lecture notes, and videos are extremely helpful for someone like me who had not taken a math class in a very long time. I would highly recommend his class. His course structure is exactly like the syllabus, he was easy to communicate with, and offers help and extensions if you ask.

IF YOU ARE NERVOUS ABOUT TAKING STATS TAKE PROFESSOR V! everybody that I know who has taken stats had me so nervous about taking it, but professor V literally prepares you for everything you're going to need in the course. He goes over homework and quiz question and gladly goes over problems more than once if someone is not getting it!

I had Prof. Villalobos for Math150 online and for someone like myself who doesn't thrive in math--he made it seem so simple! He is a phenomenal teacher. I haven't learned math in a long time and his lectures/notes/videos were very detailed & super helpful. I definitely recommend taking him because he makes math seem simpler than what it is.

I took Math 150 with this professor during the summer term, and I appreciated this class. His online YouTube videos were beneficial for the assignments. There were a lot of assignments; however, it was manageable. He replied to all my emails within 12 hours. I recommend his class to everyone.
