He does have a strong accent, but he explains everything so that the concepts can really be understood. The tests are simple (worded exactly as he lectures). I passed with a 100..He is easy and pleasant..TAKE HIM!

I took my Intro to Philo with Prof. Coquilla at HCC Northline Campus. Gladly I got an A. He really helped you got good grades. Extremely awesome, you know alot, you enjoy his class till the last minute, you save money (gives you very organized notes - no text book needed) and you earn a good grade ( was excempted from final! Highly recommend him. And his is neat, looks very professional and very hot!

I had this class last Spring 2012 at HCC Northline Campus. I admired his teaching style and method. The materials were so informative and useful in life. He is so organized, the grading system was very clear and you can predict your grade on how to respond to class requirements. I got an A, got exempted in the final exam Best teacher.

Easiest minimester (3 week) I've ever taken. Take him, he is super easy. You will need the book to find answers. He gives extra credit for all units. DO THEM! they are easy and opinion based.

3 tests plus midterm and final. 10 journals, 10 vocab, 2-3 essays, 1 group project (pp & essay), and TONS of extra credit. Very easy assignments, I completed most during lectures as he taught it to us. Do well on the tests and do all extra credit & you DON'T have to take the final! There are lots of extra credit, do it! :) Quizzes were not difficult, and you can find the answers through the powerpoint or the materials he gave us. I would definitely take his class again if I have a chance.

Great class and professor! I highly recommend this class you would have to be lazy to not pass. Hes a very understanding teacher and explains everything well. I have nothing bad to say about him. 2 assignments every week, and extra credit every 3 weeks. The whole semester. Its is not hard at all he goes over all assignments before they are due.

it was a great class, loved the way he applied life"s experience to the teaching made it more easy to understand and relate to. attend class regularly and there is no way you wont get a good grade. he is down to earth and ready to listen all the time. never thought i would enjoy philosophy but i did, he loves to teach and that's awesome! take him!

Everything that is given is in Canvas. All the test are in Canvas. Do the work and keep a good binder there is credit for it. There is extra credit given when it is time for the test. Do the work and you will pass. The books for this class he will post them in Canvas. The power point are so posted in Canvas.

Ok, so I dont really do this but I feel obligated to let you guys know that this professor is really good. LISTEN! Just do the discussions, journals, and quizzes(which you dont even have to study for; trust me) and you will make an easy A. The midterm and final are super essay and again, you dont need to study for that either. He is the best

Easy A for an online class, gives full credit on almost all assignments. Very easy material but really makes you think. Most quizzes and exams can be found on quizlet, but you need to think on your own with discussions, journals, essays and vocabulary but they're very easy to complete. Gives good feedback on your assignments.

I just passed Philosophy 1301 with A+(107%). Professor Coquilla is easy grader. There is lots of extra credit. Even you did bad on exam, its OK. Those extra credit will raise your score up.

My favorite teacher of all time. His lectures are amazing! He talks about his wife a lot and is very funny. I took his ethics class years ago and changed my major shortly after to philosophy because of him. As long as you show up to class, take notes, and pay attention to his lectures then youll understand the assignments easy. (2/3 per week)

He is THE BEST professor I have ever taken. You learn so much from him and even makes philosophy so intresting and awesome. However, attendance is a major importance in his class. If you miss more than 4 times he will give you an FX, he also gives out homework. If you do the homework, its an easy A. A very VERY great professor/class!

Professor Coquilla has been one of the best Professor Ive had in college. Hes an amazing teacher and always answers emails fast and helps a lot. This professor is very good with his lectures! He has a clear grading criteria, there are five modules and in each modules three week and in each week some assignments that are not difficult to be turned in( there are few assignments per week, it does not take long to do it). For every module he as an extra credit essay with a minimum of one page.

If you have the chance to enroll in his class do it. This class was easy for mini winter class. He provides everything you need to do assignments, quizzes(quizlet), tests, and journals. Turn in everything on time and you get full credit, and best feedback ever. You wont get negative feedback period. Hes amazing and a GPA saver. Lots of read too!

The professor is easy. if miss class and you will struggle a little to do the assignment as he helped step by step for assignment and discussion as well as exam it was a flex class so had an option for the recording of class which he does so when you do the assignment you have class notes handy

I took this class as an online class, he is a great proffessor and gives lots of homework but easy to follow if you pay attention to his lectures and make good use of the PowerPoint. If you miss an assigment, there is always extra credit to make up for it.

Absolutely loved this professor! I personally did not really pay the most attention to his lectures (although I should have), but I did use the readings and videos assigned to us. Though there was a good amount of paper writing, his class was very insightful and he was very helpful with feedback on papers and discussion posts.

A lot of work to complete in a summer semester! But this professor grades easy and gives extra credit. Making an A is easy to do in his class. 1 quiz, 1 vocab paper, and 2 journals due weekly. The assignments are interesting and require you to think, but this is the easiest its going to get for a philosophy class. Take him, you wont regret it.

Professor Coquilla, lectures with the interest of his student as a priority. His class in Summer like any other Summer class has lots of work keep up with but the good thing is that he gives you all the information, notes, PowerPoints and videos to aid you and lots of extra credit opportunities. He is a great teacher.

Professor Coquilla was a very good lecturer and made us understand how to the homework by going in depth on how to do it. Very good class and I would recommend this Professor to anyone who would be taking PHIL 2306 (the class I took with Professor Coquilla) or any other class he teaches

I highly encourage you to take this professor. He teaches because he loves teaching, it doesnt feel like its his job. It is easy to understand if you go to class every day. He guide you through the assignments. All he really wants is to have his students think and be philosophers themselves. I would love to take his class again.

Professor J is awesome! easily my favorite class I've taken. You have two assignments every week but they're not hard. He gives you all the info you need for each module and a review for each test. He has a strong accent but he's always willing to reexplain if you don't understand something.

He is a great kind hearted Professor. His curriculum is very organized with everything easy to follow. Great for those with a busy schedule. He gives a lot of extra credit so there is no excuse you should not do well. I learned a lot from his class and I hope future students will do the same. If you have an issue he will work with you. This professor was straightforward yet easygoing and understanding. He made studying philosophy enjoyable. Everything is structured clearly and you can calculate your grade. The tests are easy because they are similar to the reviews. You will have two to three assignments per week and he has no problem going over anything. Should be an easy A.

Quizzes/exams more or less on quizlet and on the slides. Very easy grader on other assignments. Even for a quickpaced 5 week summer course you can get by with like 1 hour of work per day. There's extra credit so i've been sitting at a 110% in the class over half way thru the session

If you do your work and turn in your assignments on time, there is no way you could fail this course. The exams are very easy if you read your materials. Such an amazing and down to earth professor!

This professor makes out time for his students, gives extra credits and nice individual-tailored feedback after grading each assignment. You only just have to study the text as is normal for every philosophy course. Overall, he is a generous grader and a great instructor. Just follow his directives diligently and you'll be good.

Professor Joe is straightforward and makes philosophy fun. With clear expectations, easy exams, and optional study tools like unstuckstudy, you can coast to an A in this class.

In order to be successful in this course or any other course that he offers, attendance is key. So, he will basically lecture his expectations of how you should turn in said homework. So, if you feel like you may miss class make sure you communicate that with him. I didn't think that I would do as good as I did.

It was an okay class, not too hard but glad it's over. He's a great person but for someone who considers themselves a philosopher, he will take off points if he doesn't agree with you. Not the most philosophical if you do that but he still gives great insight and wants the best for everyone. Not worst but okay.

I recently decided to go back to school to get my BS, and this was my first class requirement. This class and this professor were perfect for getting my feet wet. The only way you can fail this class is by doing nothing. He provides lecture notes, PowerPoints, study guides, and keys. He is fantastic when it comes to feedback.

Awesome professor! took him for a mini summer. There's a lot to read, he does provide YouTube video and articles for assignments but it's a lot. Took Phil2306 in a 5-week course, which was extremely fast-paced & involved a ton of reading. He was quick to respond to questions & was flexible with deadlines. His exams were based on the quizzes taken throughout the semester, but in a different order. His feedback after every assignment was very positive & inspirational. Would take again 10/10!
